  1. Unfortunately the pricing is the same in all the Wellington stores, so I understand.
  2. A griffin would be very neat, such lovely creatures, and with a traditional place in heraldry already, too.
  3. I can't believe I missed this when you posted it last month Sava, what a beautiful building! The sheer size of it is imposing and impressive, just what cathedrals are all about. One thing that really struck me as soon as I saw this was the detail in the stained glass windows, simply amazing, particularly the effects you managed to achieve with the circular ones. The cross vault is lovely, a wonderful curve to that and such a neat architectural detail. Just looking at this reminds me of the pictures I've seen of medieval European cathedrals, with the gallery around the top of the interior and the detailed windows and pointed architecture. The rounded end of the sanctuary is also particularly well done. Did you have much trouble with the upper sections and balance? It looks fairly solidly built, but I'm interested to know (my last roof was very prone to collapsing if moved too much, although it had the added problem of needing to be removable). I'm intrigued by the slant on the front step, is that a reference to aging or something else? It caught my eye and made me wonder. Overall very, very impressive, a truly inspirational piece of work, well done. Lovely place to photograph it too, I bet you got some funny looks!
  4. What a great camera design, I didn't even think that was Lego when I first looked at it! Very nicely built, and the lighting gives it a very classic movie look, just lovely. I would agree that the text looks quite bright, perhaps you should try out some darker shades of red? The font is quite nice, perhaps try a few others in that style though just to compare and see what you like best. In terms of the stars, I would suggest not making them quite so stretched; on an aesthetic level I prefer thinner stars. This might also help to bring the bottom one above the edge of the picture so it isn't cut off, too. Again try a few other shades of gold/yellow for these too, perhaps aim for something similar to the gold at the bottom of the red box. Just fiddle with it until you are happy with how it looks; it is very nice as it is though, good job. I'm going to move this to the "Brick Flicks & Comics" forum as it is related to Brickfilms if that is alright with you, may get more attention there.
  5. Nicely done, legitimatealex, this is very well built and true to the feeling of the original board game. I like how you've made all the different graves/monuments unique, it adds a nice touch of variety and interest to the MOC. Now you need a few suitable minfigures so you can the play the game on it!
  6. Thanks for making this topic SoT, the replies have been very interesting to read. For me, I feel that the whole concept of having magic in the theme is purposefully left up to the imagination and interpretation of the person buying the sets. The inclusion of the wizard, baby dragons etc gives room for there to be magic present, on a different level to the more "fantasy" based theme we've had the last 2 years. I think it is aiming at a more traditional style European view of magic, back from the pre-Tolkien era, when magic was the realm of wizards and mythological creatures like dragons, rather than orcs, dwarves and elves. It allows for the child to imagine the applications of this magic, rather than forcing one particular concept on them, which is quite nice from a design perspective. While the theme is clearly dominated by human vs human conflict, the inclusion of magic is most definitely a viable possibility. The theme is very much a return to the classic 80s and 90s sets, where magic is embodied by the presence of wizards and dragons, most notably in the Dragon Knights, and then we saw the development of the Fright Knights, a faction more designed around a magical element than a human conflict element. When it comes down to it though, the use of magic in this theme is more open like the classic sets; there is the option for its inclusion, but there is also the option for it to be just a minor side element, much like "magic" was in medieval Europe (alchemists etc). I quite like this approach, as it allows flexibility for all castle fans, those who enjoy traditional and realistic castles and those who enjoy more fantasy orientated castles, unlike the last line which predominately catered to only fantasy fans. This line feels a lot more like the original castle lines from Lego, and I'm looking forward to getting hold of all these sets when they arrive on the shores of NZ in September.
  7. The Brikwars website is working fine, your problem is much more likely to be a local one, which is something we can't help with unfortunately. Since this questions has been answered, I'll close this up.
  8. Happy birthday mighty WADMIN, I hope you've had a great day and eaten lots of cake! Everyone loves cake. Have a great one Sieggy!
  9. Keep that whip going strong, he works best that way so I hear. Congratulations Shadows, a very well deserved promotion!
  10. Will you come over here? Really awesome job MrTools, I love these little guys. The shape is just right and I recognised him instantly. The blood on the floor is just so appropriate too. Next project is building GLaDOS, yes? Thank you for helping us help you help us all.
  11. An interesting concept making a comic in LDD Randal, but please try to avoid making double posts in your excitement to talk about it. If you have something more you want to say, just edit your previous post and add it there.
  12. Just saw this today, an excellent piece of engineering Mahjqa! That video was amazing, very well produced and it shows of the mechanics very well. The colour scheme is very appealing, and the functionality is very impressive. It's amazing what can be done with Lego technic, makes me want to go buy some of the new motors and start experimenting! Last time I did anything with the robotics system was with the old RCX units.
  13. Our very own Eurobricks Town Moderator, TheBrickster, brings us a comprehensive review of the new 7947 Prison Tower Rescue from the Lego Castle Kingdoms line. Be sure to check out those awesome dragon knights and discuss this set in our LEGO Historic Themes forum by clicking the picture above. Also be sure to take a look at his other review of the 7950 Knight's Showdown .

  16. Umm, I've been meaning to speak with you about her... It was an accident, I swear.
  17. If you're wondering about the unmarked white van parked just down the street with the satellite dish on top, then no, that is not us. If you don't mind, I'm now going to return to my fully-funded-by-EB Dragon Den, thank you. Complete with hoard and damsel in distress.
  18. Not these again... *Diesel prepares his sword and will strike if the robed figure gets too close to the group*
  19. Quite clearly, killing off the famous and well acquainted merchant was a bad idea.
  20. Happy 193rd Birthday my Lord Shadows! Have a great day and I promise we can kill some more zombie soldiers together soon. Keep up all the CRAZY.
  21. Oh no! My... my shop! Burned! How dare they! How could they!? I'm ruined!! After the crazy events of last night, I am unsure of what to do next. Those Nizam must pay for the lose of my stock!
  22. Happy Birthday iamded buddy, hope you've had a great day and got some nice things! Looks like you're now a legally accepted member of EB, congrats! *Dragonator gives chase gleefully.*
  23. Goodness me, what a strange thing to be doing. I do hope this doesn't affect my customer base too much, it's hard enough trying to survive the economic situation after last years camel trade flop. Well, I'm not at all sure what to do, so I guessI'll sit here in my stall and observe the events as they progress.
  24. Good day everyone, I'm Mustafa, the friendliest merchant in town! If you're after something, then most likely I have it, or can have it soon thanks to my vast network of producers. Come by my stall in the bazaar, I have it all; cauldrons, rare scrolls, broomsticks, pointy hats, you name it, I've got it! I get new shipments in all the time, so you never know what exciting and exotic objects I'll have in next! And if you're a collector of exquisite and rare items, well, let's just say I know a few people who might be able to help you with those too. Inquires can be made in the back room. These Nizam are disrupting my trade roots and damaging my profits, let's deal with them as soon as possible.
  25. Excellent, let's capture those nasty Nizam! Death to the baby stealers! Down with them all I say!
