  1. This is quite an important Mafia rule actually, as it can severely alter game play, in more ways than you would think. Once you are dead in a Mafia game, you are dead, which means that all the rules of a non-participant apply, such as discussing the game. While it isn't a rule that can be enforced, it is a rule that I would hope all EB members can abide by out of fairness and honesty. Think about this; if an investigator had been investigating for 4 days, found several scum players but had not shared that information, and then was killed, would it be fair for that player to then send a PM to someone else telling them all of the results? I hope you get why this is such an important rule. Remember that Mafia games are about everyone having fun, on both teams, and it is an expectation that everyone will follow the rules so that there isn't any conflict beyond the role-played conflict in-game.

  6. I'd just like to note that this rule has been being abused quite a bit in the last couple of game days in regards to night action results, might want to have that stopped. The rule does exist for a reason, it's like flipping your card in the live play game.
  7. Awesome news Badger, my favourite has to be the Z-5E Pod Gun, such a sleek and appealing design. Just what our Sci-Fi fans will love, I'm sure. The Heavy Laser Cannon is a close second, that bad boy looks like it could do some serious damage! Is it based off anything specific (I'm interested in the reasons for the inclusion of the chunky square base on the barrel). The minifigs look nice too, up to usual BA quality and those helmets are quite appealing. Thanks very much for the news, Badger.
  8. I'm free! I had a lot of fun Sandy, thanks for hosting such a great game, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out; I shall be paying close attention. I'm a little sad I didn't get to have a final word in the day thread, but I guess that's what happens when you play with people in different timezones. Ah well, let us see what tomorrow brings...
  9. Some of us still have to work keeping this castle tidy even during a dire situation like this, Madame, and thus don't have all that much time to be active. I would probably not have said all that much yesterday either if I hadn't received the information that I did and decided to act upon it. I was so certain I had a substantial lead, but as it turns out, while I was correct in my analysis that Jolie isn't innocent, I hadn't exactly counted on her being Impartial but had rather assumed it must mean she was Hallowed. That was my mistake, and I've already admitted to it thank you. Well I'm not, so why would I say otherwise? I think you're trying to read far too much into a simple word of caution. All I was saying was that yes there is a killer in the staff, but that person isn't the only Hallowed, and if we want to catch the rest we should be observing who is accusing who. That my friend is called analysis of the situation. Here you are wrong; I was willing to fight to have my voice heard over all the opposition right up until someone finally told me that Jolie was actually Impartial, confirming my accusations as being true, if not in the way I expected. At that point, with the new evidence only just surfacing that Sheila was in fact a werewolf, I realised I may be making a mistake, and decided to remove my vote against Jolie. I admit that I was convinced Shiela was innocent at that time as I was also convinced that Jolie was Hallowed; I was simply acting off the knowledge I had and what had been said by the two of them, which is all we innocents really can act off. I wasn't defending Sheila so much as using her as an example of where in my opinion Jolie was showing her true "hallowed colours", which was what I believed at the time. When new evidence was introduced, I had to reassess the situation, and at that point I was having doubts about Sheila. Unfortunately the day ended before I could go any further with that, but luckily we had that mysterious vote which got her for us, so I'm glad of that at least. I just wish Madame Ching had come out and told us of Jolie's alignment earlier so I wouldn't have made such a fool of myself... I know the way I acted yesterday may look bad to you, but I can assure you I was acting because I was certain I had found a Hallowed. While this proved not to be quite correct, I was still right in almost all my points, as Jolie isn't innocent as we now know, she is Impartial. That explains a lot, I can tell you. I don't really know what I can say to convince you of my innocence, but believe me, if you vote me off you'll be voting off a fellow innocent.
  10. Hurrah, finally a success! I must appologise for not seeing through Sheila's lies more clearly yesterday, they were quite convincing considering I was certain I had evidence that Jolie was Hallowed. If perhaps it had been mentioned much earlier in the day that Jolie was in fact Impartial, I might not have ended up sidetracking us so much, but what is done is done, and at least we came away with a successful conviction. Jolie, I was hugely skeptical of you yesterday and was certain you were Hallowed considering the fact you had been sneaking around in my rooms, but now I realise that while you aren't innocent, you are at least trying to help us get rid of these fiendish Hallowed. I feel a little silly now after being so vehement yesterday, I was so certain I was right! Anyway, I'm happy to shelve my accusations against you now that that whole matter has been cleared up; now we can get on with finding the real Hallowed out there. I can say with the utmost surety that I'm not the killer; I'm an elf who can only employ simple elf magic, I couldn't even attempt most of the spells you witches and wizards would consider trivial. I do understand, of course, that I can't exactly prove this to you, but I do know that I wasn't blocked last night, and if someone wants to dispute that fact I'll be very surprised. And why is that, please? Is it because I was willing to put myself at risk yesterday following a trail of investigation based off evidence I had received during the night? Is it something else I've done? I'm trying my best here to find the Hallowed just as much as you are, but innocents do make mistakes, its not like we have that much to go off in the best of circumstances. Now this I find particularly aggravating, and somewhat worrisome, as having you investigate me would have been a sure way to clear my name and prove my innocence. I can't say I'm at all happy about this. Madame Ching, if you can tell us, did someone directly intervene, or is that just the impression you got? Do you think the intervening person was trying to block you, or to protect me? I almost wonder if it is caused by some sort of side-effect from my elf magic. Very concerning, whatever the case.
  11. Now there's a proposition I could support!
  12. Wow, what a way to go!! Very well played Matn, hope to see you in the next game.
  13. Not quite true actually, an Impartial doesn't count in terms of them outnumbering us, as an Impartial is on neither side; "neutral". Thus at worst voting her out would simply not effect the count at all. It's happened in the past, however, that an Impartial teamed up with the scum and counted for them, so it could very well happen again!
  14. Awww, I'm a little princess. Err, that is, nice review Peppy, what an interesting little set. That dress seems so strange, not a piece you'd ever see from TLG I don't think! Some interesting pieces in there though, including that extra long hinge plate. It even has a fairly suitable paddle in the form of that mirror (don't tell Hinck ). Very well presented.
  15. Oh my, I had forgotten about that werewolf! Sheila, what do you have to say in your defence? I've ignored you mostly so far as I've mainly been focusing on Jolie, but with Madame Ching's assurances and this new evidence, I think you have a bit more explaining to do now. For the moment I'm going to unvote: Jolie Jadis (Lord Arjay). We need to get to the bottom of this matter first, and I really want to make the correct decision today. While I am confident in my own evidence, and I'm still not satisfied with many of Jolie's answers, I'll put that aside for now until first Mrs. Ching clarifies the situation for us, and this new evidence is dealt with.
  16. Hang on, that would make a lot of sense. A lot of sense. Mrs. Ching, tell us truthfully now, is Jolie innocent, or is she the third Impartial? If you definitely found her to be Impartial, then that settles the matter, I would not suspect that sort of result as being wrong. And if she is Impartial, then that says a lot about why Jolie can both be supporting the innocents while also going behind our backs at the same time to make sure she herself is the one that benefits. Tell me Mrs. Ching, has she truly helped you at all, or has she merely given the impression of helping? As a confirmed innocent your views on this matter are vital, for if Jolie is an Impartial, then she will definitely have her own agenda to follow. I don't know, I was so certain I was on to something when I found she had been in my rooms last night. If Jolie is Impartial then that certainly not as bad as being Hallowed, and not as much of a threat to us, however she still isn't on our side then, so we should be weary. Mrs. Ching, if you could please elaborate a bit then I may consider a different direction for my course of investigation, as we must find a Hallowed today, and time is running out.
  17. People, enough is enough, we have to make a decision now. I am putting my reputation and my own life on the line here, for I truly believe that Jolie is not the innocent student she has been making herself out to be. I've already stated my arguments, so I won't bore you all with them again, however I want you all to consider your votes today very, very carefully. Jolie has been playing us for fools, pretending to help us innocents while secretly setting us up for her own ends. If she was truly investigated and found innocent, which Mrs. Ching still hasn't confirmed for us, then I believe some other sort of trickery is behind it; it has happened before and is sure to happen again in life. I simply cannot see how Jolie could possibly be innocent with everything we have against her, and I'm willing to risk my life to say that she isn't, because otherwise we're all going to die. If I'm killed tonight, I think we'll all know why, however I do have a means of protecting myself from the killer, so I think I shall do that tonight. You see Jolie, I'm not scared of you and your cohorts, as unlike the rest of the innocents, I know you can't touch me tonight, so I know that we'll have a fighting chance tomorrow night. Mrs. Ching, if you want to investigate me tonight to confirm the truth of my words, then I certainly have no objection to this. Oh, here we go, so now the truth is starting to come out, drip by drip. So you were sneaking around last night, yes? And now you admit you might have been in my room, but it is not your fault, and you just can't remember? You were instead trying to steal from a mysterious poisoner? Well that's very convenient, isn't it, very convenient that I caught you out when you weren't expecting to be, but now you have a magical cover for it. So first you thought I was lying because you "assumed" I didn't have a foe glass, but now that you know I have other ways of knowing you targeted me, suddenly the story changes. You've built yourself up on a foundation of lies, madame, and I'm not standing for it any more.
  18. I certainly agree with this sentiment, as always in these games an impartial will try and play both sides against each other to try and win. This is true. However you don't appear to be getting my point. There was no way for you to know she was impartial, which was why, according to my theory, you would be so eager to vote her off as you would have assumed she was just another innocent, going off my theory that you are Hallowed. Think about this for a moment people, going on my theory. With Jolie being Hallowed, when she found out Nene was a threat to her she knew she should take her out immediately. As a Hallowed, she has no reason to be careful in her accusations as an innocent must, as we are trying to make sure we don't vote off other innocents as we don't know who we all are. No, as she is Hallowed, she was able to accuse Nene and ensure her destruction with no hesitations like a real innocent would have in the face of voting off someone on such thin evidence. And what a bonus it must have been for Jolie when Nene was declared impartial! Immediately she has a point of leverage over us all, which we have seen her using time and time again over the last 2 days. Supposedly since Nene was impartial, this means we have to trust Jolie's judgment completely, for she is "the only one who has made any progress", accordingly. Well I'm sorry, but this convenient point doesn't hold anything for me when put into context with everything else you've been doing. I believe Jolie is exploiting her good luck in leading the vote of an impartial rather than an innocent to try and pull the wool over our eyes on this, the deciding day for us. If an innocent is voted out today, then we are certainly almost beaten, just looking at the numbers of us that are left. We cannot let this happen, people. On the contrary, everything said against Nene was an excuse, a twisting of circumstantial evidence to try and cover for your true motives. You are correct in your second statement though; by trying to show your innocent intentions yesterday by revealing "the truth", you made a mistake many overly arrogant antagonists make - you gave yourself away. And now you are most certainly paying for it, for now you have someone who is ready to challenge your claims of innocence, and you simply don't have anything of any value to defend yourself with whatsoever. I bet you've been laughing at us for the whole of this week, Jolie, well we'll see who is laughing at the end of this day, I can tell you that! Interesting how your opinion changes as soon as someone contradicts your assertions. But what was it you said right at the beginning of the day again? Oh, that's right... You did not change your story until after you were pushed to reveal your real motives for wanting to vote off Sheila, and after Sheila had defended herself. Nobody wanted to buy your thin "accusations" yesterday, and obviously from the response today you appear now to have decided to drop them. You may have had the support of several people when voting off Nene, but now many of us can see you for what you really are, a lair and a manipulator, and we aren't going to stand for it. For all I know, Sheila may well be hallowed, but I suspect you right now far more than I suspect her. Today could be our last chance to save ourselves from the Hallowed, people, and I am determined to make sure we get the right person! Oh, so I'm the one lying now, am I? And you dare to call me a hypocrite? You're playing a strange game Jolie, but I swear, I intend to get to the bottom of it. My room was a tip last night, and the implied reason provided to me was that you were there trying to find something. I don't know what you were looking for, but I certainly don't have it, I can tell you that. I may not have a spyglass, but I can assure you, madame, that my elven "perception" doesn't let me down; I know you were there. The lies are just getting bigger and bigger now, aren't they? I'd like to draw some attention back to some dialogue from day 4: So don't try and tell me you weren't in my rooms last night, I know you were, and you know you were, Jolie. It would appear that 'once a lair, always a lair' is proving to be true. I don't know what your definition of lying is Jolie, but "withholding the truth" for your own gains certainly sounds like a euphemism for it to me. Still trying to twist people's words to suit yourself I see... If you want to have me blocked I really don't mind, my night actions aren't ones that affect anyone other than myself anyway. But sure, if it would make you feel better that the first person to challenge you be silenced quickly, then by all means, get one of your Hallowed cohorts to block me, I'm not afraid of you lot. Are you saying that you've investigated Jolie and found her to be innocent? If that's the case, then I will consider dropping my accusations against Jolie, but I do think that for an innocent, she is acting very, very suspiciously, and the evidence I have against her certainly doesn't point that way. I would also like to point out that investigation results are never 100% accurate either, as there are people such as Godfathers and Serial Killers, for example, who can appear other than what they really are upon investigation, and there's always the chance of a spell which could manipulate what you see in your divination, although without knowing the details of your result we have no way of knowing if these points apply to this situation or not. Please clarify this matter for me, and maybe we'll make some proper headway, as I am still convinced of Jolie's guilt. I trust you, Mrs. Ching, but I'm sorry to say I don't trust Ms. Jadis.
  19. Ok, I've just about had it up to here with all this crap, and that's saying something for a short little house elf like me! Jolie, you may say a lot, but when I actually look at everything you've just said to us, I don't really see much in it that could possibly help us or explain your previous actions. Successful!? Do you not listen, or do you just talk so much that nothing goes in? The fact is, while Nene may have been impartial, that doesn't necessarily mean she was against us, and from what I have seen, there is absolutely no evidence to suggest that she was. For all we know, she may have been able to help us in some way. But aside from this, the fact remains that you purposefully lied to us and manipulated us to vote her off for your own gains, and I am thus highly skeptical in believing anything you say now because of it, as I have this feeling that you're trying to use us again. Something does not add up with you Jolie, and I am very much doubting that you are the innocent student you claim to be. The lies have to stop somewhere, my dear. With everything you've just said, you still failed to actually say a single thing that could possibly convince me that you have our best intentions at heart. You hide behind your "informer", who seems to me to just be another lame excuse to brush off your self-serving actions. Why do you trust this informer, might I ask? From what I can see, this "informer" sent you out to convict Sheila with the only stated reason being that he/she has "near-perfect evidence" proving that she is Hallowed. I find it highly interesting that the actual content of this information isn't stated, rather it is just a hollow and meaningless statement. I now see that the "evidence" you had against Sheila isn't as strong as it was before, is it, now that you've met a little opposition to your views? Interesting, very interesting indeed. I also find it astounding that despite your obvious lack of regard for the lives of the innocent and your reckless lying and twisting of the truth, there are still some people here who profess to trust you completely. I personally cannot understand how they can possibly know for sure that you are on their side unless you're Hallowed and these people are also your Hallowed followers, however I suppose some people can be easily taken in by shallow and empty words. Ladies and Gentlemen, I think it is time we made a stand and stopped listening to this blathering woman. She has no real evidence against Sheila, just as she didn't really have any real evidence against Nene either. Jolie has lied, she has tried to bully us into conforming with her votes by verbally abusing us for being "idiots", and frankly, what she says just sounds hollow and false to my ear. I think that, in light of the situation, I should also mention that I spotted Jolie leaving my rooms last night, where from the mess I came to the conclusion that she was trying to steal something from me. Unluckily for her, I don't have anything that can be stolen, however the attempted theft did nothing to make her seem any more innocent in my eyes. As Jolie has been unable to provide even one shred of evidence as to why I should believe her to be innocent, combined with her past misdeeds and my belief that she is trying to use us again, I have decided that it is time that I, the lowly house elf, took a stand for us innocents and began the voting for someone I believe to be Hallowed. Thus I shall Vote: Jolie Jadis (Lord Arjay). This woman has used us for her own ends once, but by the gods I won't let her do it again! While I feel that this is the right choice for today, we must also keep an eye out for the killer on the faculty. These Hallowed are working together remember, people, they're bound to give each other away at some point.
  20. Indeed, the settings are very effective and certainly set the atmosphere.
  21. It's alright, I sorted it for you.
  22. Help us!? So far, from what I have seen, she has blatantly lied and deceived us, with the express motive of using us to remove Nene for her own gain; to protect herself from a crime which in my opinion Nene was quite rightly justified in wanting revenge for. While Nene wasn't necessarily working with the town, she wasn't necessarily working against us; in fact I have seen no evidence so far to suggest that she was working against us, other than the word of Ms. Jadis. Jolie is a self-proclaimed thief, and nothing she has said so far has led to the conviction of a Hallowed, or anywhere close for that matter. So no, I must disagree that she is the only one who has "helped" us, she has done nothing of the sort in my opinion. Sorry to be so blunt, but I myself have simply seen no evidence or anything from Jolie herself that would make me believe she is innocently aligned with the rest of us, thus I certainly have no inclination to follow any of her quite forceful assertions, and in this situation I feel confident in supporting Sheila, as I can't see anything that she has done wrong. Rather I am far more suspicious of what Jolie's true motives are behind trying to get rid of Ms. Bones.
  23. Just got back from a shopping trip, wallet deflated but me very happy. Picked up my Fire Brigade, Taj and box of minifigs from Toyworld, so good to have those now. I also bought 2 of the new games, Monster 4 and Lava Dragon, both $30. Race 3000 was also $30, and the larger sets I saw, the space one and the labyrinth were both $50, while Creationary was $70 I believe. Pirate Code was $40, can't quite remember the smaller sets, either $20 or $25. Can't recall seeing the pyramid either, but I would assume that one is $50 going off size. New SW looks lovely, this is going to be another expensive year. Saw the Tantive IV at TW, $350 though. While at Farmers (this was all out at Kapiti by the way) I spotted the 2006 X-Wing, 5 of them on the shelves at $119.99, less 20%. On impulse I decided I needed another one, hehe. Also grabbed the Helicopter/limo set and the new Plo Koon Starfighter from there, 20% was too good to pass up not buying anything. Midi-ISD was $89.99. And that's about everything that I remember, feeling rather deflated and broke now! Will have to do some severe saving for when all the Kingdom sets come out now.
  24. Well I'm certainly not the killer, I can't tell one end of a wand from another! I don't think I'd have the magical ability to be placed in Slytherin, let alone make it to the sorting hat. That Slytherin lot isn't particularly accepting of anybody not of pure blood anyway, let alone a house elf! As for who it could be, I'm really not sure, it could be anyone other than Prof Longbottom, yes? I think we should also remember that while this particular killer isn't a student, that doesn't mean the rest of the wretched lot aren't. Thus I've been interested to see which of the students is eager to accuse which of the faculty, as it makes it very clear where certain individuals' loyalties lie.
  25. Oh this is a disaster! That's three more of us gone in the space of an evening, we have to lynch a Hallowed today people! This cannot be allowed to go on. We need something solid to go off today people, all this guessing and too many slippery half-truths are getting us absolutely nowhere. Too many people have died, we'll all be dead at this rate if we don't act now. So, first of all, does anyone have some real proof for us today? Something substantial that we can make a clear judgment off? If so, then that's our starting point, people. Myself, I've got nothing, much to my frustration...
