  1. Reviews are already starting to come out! It looks like it should be a fantastic set. Brickset Review (has a comparison shot next to Eldorado Fortress) Brick Fanatics Review (has a photo next to the Creator viking ship, at the bottom) Jay's Brick Blog Review (has in-progress photos)
  2. Both the Pocahontas and Aurora hair from the Disney CMF are now listed, but are both OOS. Other interesting parts I noticed were the windshield for the Snubfighter and magenta/bright reddish violet fish from the Little Mermaid clamshell. Still no purple space helmet though...
  3. Well, that was the last hope for more Disney minifigs this year. I might see if I can find Wendy (and maybe Tinkerbelle) at some point, but otherwise that's it for me this year for Disney stuff!
  4. It's officially up on Lego.com now, if anyone wants the whole slew of high-quality pictures. Price is officially $129.99 USD! Also, based on these higher-quality photos, I think I can safely celebrate there being no stickers! Woohoo! Also, I find it interesting that the connection points are done with bars and clips (like the Blacktron GWP) and not Technic parts. And I think that is easily puts Eldorado Fortress to shame - I know the Viking Village has smaller parts which may be inflating the PPP ratio and no cannons/sails, but I personally feel it's a far better bang for your buck overall. Can't wait for reviews to start trickling out! I'm thinking I will probably get this, but I'll wait for a good GWP to snag with it. I also might expand it a little, even if just with a few raised baseplates, just to make it feel larger (the fact that it disconnects into three parts is basically begging for this to happen). It's probably tied for my favorite Lego thing this year with the Disney 100 minifig series.
  5. Only if the GWP for that set is a Venomized Hulkbuster (piloted by Wolverine, for some reason) - otherwise, I think that line could sink. Niche interests have to be represented as well, after all. The person at my local B&M said that all of his boxes were laid out regularly - IE everyone was in groups of 3. But, this doesn't seem to be completely consistent. The codes also don't seem to be a foolproof way to identify. At best, I think that the codes might be consistent for minifigs in a box (IE all of the Agathas would have the same code), but even this doesn't seem to be completely reliable.
  6. Oh, wow, this looks great! More Vikings would be nice, but I have some older ones I can throw in to help fill the ranks. I also wish the trees were a little bigger, but that's a bit of a nitpick. Hopefully the rumored Medieval Market Village can get this same level of attention and love...
  7. No, obviously the street will be Venomized instead. I mean, it's right there, in the title: "Venom Street."
  8. Happy the mushroom house made it! I'll have to sure to get one of those. The other ones don't appeal to me, though.
  9. According to Brick Clicker, the set will be officially revealed by Target on September 1st! Not too much longer before we get to see it!
  10. Keep in mind that the $100 set for October only has about 600 pieces... Which means that if it is minifig-scale, it will probably be quite overpriced. If it is a Friends-style set, it will probably be something more like 43205 with bigger parts. In some ways, I almost hope that it isn't BatB related, so that we can get a set that has a better PPP next year (since we know the theme will keep going). Though, if that's what it costs to get BatB minifigs, maybe I can find a way to swallow that pill.
  11. Hmm... Going through the main list on jedijacpenguin's website, sets 10324-10331 have dates of January 2024-March 2024. That could mean that we see this set (assuming it is the MMV) as early as April... Though I still think a Summer release is more likely (plus then I won't have to choose between this and Animal Crossing in the same month). It would be funny if that code name was an allusion to the supposedly "vaulted" goat mold, though - even if code names don't usually mean anything.
  12. I just got done watching the Disney Princess Castle special on Disney+. It's pretty much exactly what I expected - a typical "friendship overcomes all" type of romp, though it's still enjoyable to just watch the characters interact. Ariel, Moana, Tiana, and Gaston were all especially good, though Jim Cumming's Triton was a bit too Pete-like and Rapunzel/Mandy Moore sounded a bit too... Old? Kinda hard to put into words. I haven't seen Snow White in ages, so I can't judge that one. A few other details that might constitute as spoilers: Also, if that set number is right for the rumored Pixar set, that would mean that the set it about $35 and about 400 pieces, roughly. At that PPP ratio, I'm thinking there won't be many or any minifigs, so I think it will either be a Wall-E scene, or maybe some brickbuild object.
  13. Bah... I felt so confident we would be getting Belle and the Beast after getting the Gaston one... Ah well, maybe they'll do something next year/Disney Series 4 in 2026 or something.
  14. I think Villager Brickheads might work, but I think they would work better in the same vein as the "Go Brick Me" Brickheads. Sure, you could have a more generic "Boy" and "Girl," but they're not necessarily going to look exactly like "your" Villager. Either way, in the Brickheads style, you're probably just making a fairly generic-looking person who might not be recognizable as an Animal Crossing character. Isabelle and Tom Nook (or maybe some other NPCs) would look more visually distinct, and would be more recognizable to the masses. I haven't mentioned him yet, only because I feel fairly confident he's coming. The museum is one of the reoccurring buildings in the series that makes sense as a set, and you can't have the museum without Blathers! I think there's a high chance we get Isabelle and Tom Nook somewhere in the theme, with Blathers/Celeste, the Able Sisters, Timmy and Tommy Nook, K.K. Slider, and Kapp'n just behind them, depending on which buildings/builds we get. Any other NPC's (Redd, Saharah, Tortimer, Joan, Rover, etc) are also in the runnings (and I'd love to get them as well), but I won't put money on anything until we know more about what sets are coming.
  15. If I got to pick one villager that I think has a less-likely chance of making it? Dobie, hands-down. He's the one villager that I refuse to let move from my New Horizons island. I just think that other wolves will get made before he does. I could name several other of my favorites, though. Based on this website, the "top-tier villagers" are: Top 15: Tier 2 (16-40): Tier 3 (41-70): And, if you want the top 100, it would also include: It's not a perfect list (how Hazel is there and not Peanut baffles me), but I think that generally covers most of the more popular ones. Now, for who I think will actually get made.. I think it as much depends on the species (longwinded, slightly biased overanalysis here): My TLDR Rankings of Possible Species: Almost Guarantied: Cat, Cub, Dog. More Likely: Deer, Duck, Frog, Penguin, Rabbit, Sheep, Squirrel, Wolf. 50/50: Alligator, Bear, Elephant, Goat, Hamster, Horse, Koala, Octopus, Ostrich, Rhino. Less Likely: Anteater, Bird, Chicken, Eagle, Hippo, Lion, Monkey, Mouse, Pig, Tiger. Unlikely: Bull, Cow, Gorilla, Kangaroo. Edit: It looks like there are two Animal Crossing Brickheads coming according to Brick Clicker - set numbers 40666 and 40667. I think Isabelle and Tom Nook are safe bets. The question is: Will Isabelle get the "666" number as a subtle Doom reference, or will Tom Nook get it for being a supposed loan shark (an argument I've never gotten)?
  16. I just watched AshnFlash's unboxing video, and I sadly don't think that the numbers are completely accurate to the figures. I found at least one instance where a number was shared by two figures... But, for some figures, it was entirely accurate. Some of these were a bit tricky to make out, and the reviewer had his thumb over several of the codes, but here is what I was able to make out: 522R3: Mr. Knight and Goliath 422R3: Goliath only 722R3: Storm 322R3: Echo 622R3: Wolverine 222R3: Agatha (two other Agathas also had a number starting with 2, but I couldn't make out the rest) 123R3: Kate (a second Kate started with 12, but I couldn't make out the rest) Also, a Reddit post has someone with Storm, Beast, and Mr. Knight, and showed boxes in a comment with codes 228R3 and 728R3. Assuming those two boxes came form those three minifigs, the 7 might work for Storm, but 2 was already consistently Agatha from the AshnFlash video... So, I think any similar numbers were just coincidence/bags that happened to be manufactured on the same day and therefore got coded the same way. Plus, with a 12-minifigure series, how would codes formatted like this differentiate between "1" and "12"? (I could be very wrong with these conclusions, and there's a chance I misread some numbers, so take all this with a grain of salt!) For context, I looked at some older polybags I still have sealed. All of my Centaurs and Moon Warriors happen to have the same stamped code, but other minifigs from that series also happen to have the same code. So, I don't think that codes will be a 100% foolproof way to make out the figures. Also noteworthy from the video: All of the figures have "action pieces," not just the four that we saw from the earlier Lifestyle photos. All of the caped minifigures have their capes in individual cardboard boxes, and there are no inner bags for any of the minifigs. Moon Knight does come with a spare knife-thing, which I highly appreciate. Minifigures (with the exception of a few from the "front" of the box) are arranged in groups of three - E.G. all of the Kate Bishops were in the bottom back right corner. Hopefully that doesn't mean someone blindly grabbing figures gets some that are right next to each other and get a bunch of duplicates! All of the X-men (besides one Beast) were at the top of the box, so if you want to try to get them blindly, get to the box soon! (I didn't take note as to who was where - I'll let someone else take that credit)
  17. I think a Dexter's Diner set in the same vein as the "Bro Thor" set could, on paper, work. I mean, how many "under-15-year-olds" were clambering for that particular scene, especially in the style? Stitch brought back the four-arm mold that Dex could use, so now would be the time to do it. Or, wait two years and do it as a part of the original Lego Star Wars Video Game's 20th Anniversary, since the diner was the hub. Heck, if you really wanted to, throw in Jango. It makes little sense in the context of the scene in question, but it would let him come back and help sell more copies of that set (both for people who want Jango specifically, and those who recognize some kind of Mandalorian), and it would be hard to sneak him into a set that isn't the diner, a blue Slave 1 (unlikely), Kamino (already done this year), or an Arena. It wouldn't be the first time Lego has thrown in a figure that only tangentially relates to a scene just to help sell more copies. Again, I don't think it will happen, but al least on paper it could work.
  18. If anyone is actually able to figure out the blind boxes with compete accuracy just from shaking them, I'll be extremely impressed. I know I won't be trying - all I'll be able to hear are the much larger baseplate, legs, torso, head, and instructions flopping around, let alone knowing what the smaller parts sound like. Hopefully this won't lead to the rise of sealed figures being opened with a bunch of scratches because they've been banging into each other while being shaken around by figure-hunters.
  19. If Dimensions was still going, I think this could be really cool. The Bowser and Donkey Kong Skylanders figures worked as both Skylanders and Amiibo, so technically there is precedent. I could have easily seen a two-pack of Tom Nook and Isabelle, with the bi-plane and/or Kapp'n boat or bus as the vehicles. But, those have been dead for years, so I don't think that they will revive those NFC parts for this. A Lego Animal Crossing blind box series (similar to the Amiibo card series) would sell like hotcakes though... especially if they save it for whenever the next Animal Crossing game comes out and have new villagers in that series. Remember how nuts some people went for anything Raymond-related? (Though now you have me thinking of a Lego-ified Animal Crossing town to explore in Dimensions... Running around in one of those as Gandalf, E. T., and Chell would have been a blast. Imagine characters mistaking Batman, Scoob, Sonic, and the Chima figures for new animal villagers, Abby from Ghostbusters trying to catch Wisp, Robin bonding with Timmy and Tommy over being fellow adopted orphans... The possibilities would have been endless.) I saw one of those sets in Wal-mart today while I was looking for Batman '92 polybags and had the same thought. It does look like it would might fit, and does fit with what leakers were saying about "molded heads," but I really think that Animal Crossing characters would look way better as minifigs based on the proportions. Also: It would be odd to try to fit a larger head, like an elephant, gorilla, or Tom Nook, on a body that small. It doesn't quite fit the vibe of "Fabuland," which is what the initial leak suggested. I think that "minidolls" would have come up from the leakers if they saw something in that vein. Animal Crossing cats have heads that are almost spherical - Pandy Paws' head looks much more flat. These sets does make one torso that would work for cats and maybe dogs, but you would need a different body mold (and head mold) for pretty much any other character who doesn't have a long tail - even the regular microdoll mold doesn't quite do is justice, with all of the height differences within the villager types. If they were minifigures, you have a much larger pool of parts to pull from (tails, wings, different sized legs, etc) and mostly just need to focus on new head molds. The characters couldn't hold most tools if they used microdoll, which is a part of the charm of Animal Crossing. Imagine a KK Slider figure that can't hold a guitar, or Brewster without a coffee cup. Microdolls themselves are fairly static, and doesn't have much room for "customization," which is the going theory for the appeal of this series. Heck, digi-fig Mario had more customization options than Pandy Paws, since he can change both his outfit and his hat. I imagine the Animal Crossing figures would have pinholes in the top of their head for accessories (hat, bows, etc) or for parts like horns. Pandy Paws doesn't have that. And, if they are minifigures, it would be easier for them to have different outfits to change into. (Or even buy from a theoretical Able Sister's shop in the style of the Harry Potter "trunk" sets with lots of accessories/outfits- I personally think that could be really cool and even be appealing to those not interested in Animal Crossing sets). I imagine the Animal Crossing stuff has been in development for awhile now, and was probably kept separate from this (possibly one-off?) series. So, while it might share ideas, new molds were probably made in isolation - especially since they are both liscenced and might even be required to stay exclusive for a bit. That was a bit longer than I though it was going to be... Anyways, while it could maybe happen, I personally don't think (and really hope) that Lego doesn't use micro-minidolls for the Animal Crossing theme, even if they could possibly double-dip on a few microdoll molds.
  20. Huh... Well, as much as I hate minidolls, I have to say this short looks like it could be kinda fun, even if it is a bit "young" for me - I'm a sucker for crossovers, and the Lego Star Wars shorts got some laughs out of me. Also very cool that they got the original voice actors back for four out of the five princesses (Snow's excused - they use the person who voices her for current stuff) and Gaston, plus several of the side characters, based on a quick IMDB search. I wonder who else will show up... What will make this all worth it is if, at the end of the short, it's shown that a minifigure Belle was narrating the story to someone the entire time, which then leads to the shadow reveal of the "missing" Beauty and the Beast minifigure set. Zero chance it happens, but I can dream... You picked a good year to get started! Here's a compiled list of what's still to come - no clue what exactly the sets are. As we learn more, people will post it in this thread.
  21. Assuming there actually are four minifigs, I think that they will probably be: Wolverine (very popular and recognizable). One of the flying X-men ladies (Storm or Rogue) - so there can be "action/play" outside of the jet. A third X-men, who might act as the pilot of the jet: If Rogue is the flyer, then probably Gambit since they are a couple. If Storm is the flyer, then it's a bit more up in the air. Probably one of the X-men that are new to the permanent team, which would also help advertise it as a '97 set. A villain of some variety (I'll guess Mr. Sinister actually - again to help highlight the new show). I'm up in the air as to whether there will be a Sentinel or not... The last one had one, and Lego could potentially be making one out of new, large molded parts (which might help explain the cost), but I wouldn''t be shocked if it wasn't the case. I just hope the minifigures look good...
  22. All three of those exist, actually: A blue micro/statue spaceman is in 5005358 Minifigure Factory. There's actually five spacemen that are microfigs thanks to Lego Games - Blue and Red in 3850 Meteor Strike and Lime, Orange, and Yellow in 3842 Lunar Command. Correct. That's probably the best example of a short-legged space figure in the "classic" style - I can't think of any that have the traditional helmet and airtanks though.
  23. I'm not expecting a ton of parts in the boxes - Just something that would be comparable to the size that Vidiyo had. Looking at two random Vidiyo sets on Bricklink, the weight of the Ice Cream Saxophonist and the Karaoke Mermaid were 25.6 and 27.4 grams, respectively. Meanwhile, the biggest CMF figures that I can think of (the Centaur Warrior and the Mountain Biker) weigh 17.8 and 14.3 grams, respectively. So, I do think that there would be room to add in a few more pieces, or at the very least a few larger accessories. (By the way, a cannon weighs 4 grams according to Bricklink, so, in theory, there would be room for one - I don't think one would go in there, though, due to the size - volume is also a part of the equation. Then again, that's what we said about centaur legs for the longest time...)
  24. I've played (and really love) both - but for different reasons. For me, Stardew Valley can be played for pretty much as long as you want, since they day cycle is pretty quick and isn't tied to anything in real-time. You can also put the game down and pick it back up a day, week, or year later and not have lost anything. It also has a greater variety of locations with the town, mine, desert, forest, and Ginger Island (whereas in Animal Crossing, you're pretty much always on the same island). The characters are also, for the most part, more three-dimensional than the average villager in Animal Crossing. Animal Crossing is a slower burn - it's best played in short spurts every day (probably an hour or less) to get your "daily chores" done, with the possibility of trying to find a rare fish or bug or doing some bigger event (like Toy Day) tied to real-time events. The game can also punish you a little bit for not playing each day (though the punishments aren't near as bad as they have been in past editions). It's also more focused on customization, decoration, and inviting new people to your town than Stardew Valley, which has a more-or-less set town from Day 1. That customability might be what made it attractive for Lego and Nintendo to develop into a theme. As far as some other overlaps - like fishing and the museum - there's pros and cons to each one... Nothing worth continuing to go off topic for. I hope Lego sees it that way as well! I really don't want to be forced to stare into the cold, dead eyes of a Tom Nook or Isabelle digi-fig...
  25. The more I think about it, the more I think that, with an initial investment of some new molds for characters, this series could potentially last a long time, especially with support form a CMF. For example, once you make one cat head mold, you now have access to a huge number of popular characters (Raymond, Rosie, Ankha, etc). Even more specialized mold, like one for the Able Sisters, could still be used more times, or you can give the characters different outfits to justify them being in multiple sets (Isabelle would be a good example, of this, with all of her seasonal outfits). It makes a lot more sense then, say, food costumes that only show up in a single CMF and are never seen again. Heck, I think a blind-box CMF of Animal Crossing characters would do better than the upcoming Marvel one - Nintendo shoppers already buy blind bag Animal Crossing items (Amiibo cards, chocolate eggs, etc), so it's not a shock to them. And, personally, I think there is less "blind bad disappointment" to getting a villager that may not be your dreamy, as opposed to random Marvel superheroes which one probably has a wider range of emotions about. (Of course, being able to feel the bags would be ideal, but I digress) Oh, it's not too hard to imagine... Start off your 120-second day by scanning the tile in front of your house! Make your way down to the beach to try and catch a fish - keep your character steady, and you might be able to catch a big one! Then, scan the tile in front of the tree - see if you get money, an item you can sell, or get stung by bees (and lose some Bells!). Say hello to your villager friends by scanning the tile they are standing by, and see what gifts they give you! Be sure to scan the tile in front of Nook's Cranny before time runs out, and see how many Bells you can get before the end of the day! Hopefully they don't go the Mario route with this and do something awful like that, but... Well, that's pretty much what the Mario series does. With minifigures seemingly coming, though, I hope we will have dodged that bullet.
