  1. It's sad they use stickers for the window shutters. Where is the time Lego had actually windows with working shutters back in the 80ies. Remember those red window frames with white opening windows and green shutters? Sometimes old Lego is better. You could buy them in part packs in every toy store. Good old classic Lego.
  2. It's 340€ here in Europe .And I have chosen the Mountain Fortress over the medieval market. Lego doesn't take the castle theme serious. That's why a Black Falcons castle is only for Bricklink and that's why they cut corners on the medieval market and Majisto GWP. It's Starwars and Disney all the way for the Lego group. The rest are just side projects... It's so dissapointing that the leaked picture of the market from last year looks so much more impressive then what we got now.
  3. Well Lego did get my 340€ today for the Mountain Fortress. I was not interested to buy this set because it has no paper instructions. But the medieval market was a dissapointment for me. The tax collector however looks very good. I hope he will tax the very rich to give to the poor... So I got caught by FOMO . It will be water and bread for me the next 6 months. Anybody interested to trade the Mountain Fortress for a kidney? You only need one... Just curious. Some people spent everything for a limited collectors set.
  4. Sold out in 2,5 hours Sold out! Well in Europe it's 340€ instead of the 380$ in USA
  5. Well it's allready funded and almost sold out. I really like the design. Great job Sleepless Night! For 340€ it's expensive yes but I think it's way better value then the Medieval market. But that's just my opinion. Thanks for the info!
  6. Well if it were 4 seperate buildings, Lego has to put more effort in their designs. No they think they can get away with it with one decent building and one lame building. So it's up to you, the consumer. I spended my money on the BDP program instead of this half complete set.
  7. So of topic : some people here with BDP experience? Have paid for the Mountain Fortress an hour ago. My Insiders account says : waiting for stock. What does this means? Have I got it or not? I think you underestimate how much profit Lego has on each set and how low the costs actually are. Allmost everything in the Lego factory is automated I saw in a documentary. Also, Lego buys raw materials in huge bulks with huge discount. For an example, it's just 200€ to produce Rivendell I estimate and the rest is pure profit. That's how the Lego family has become richer then the Danish royalty.
  8. Me too. Rather a more expensive yet impressive set then a cheaper but underwhelming set. Or Lego should make more seperate medieval buildings so everybody can enjoy medieval sets with the budget they have. So instead of an entire medieval market set, Lego should just sell all buildings seperately but more detailed and polished. The Viking Village is way better then this new medieval market. Nice printed torsos, new shields and new leg printing! And for 125€ at the local toy stores it is a bargain!
  9. Today was decision day.I took the day off especially for this day. It would be the medieval market for 230€ or Mountain Fortress for 340€.Not both. Medieval market is a dissapointment for me. So Mountain Fortress it has become! Will buy just the new torsos and shield on Pick a Brick. Totally agree. Eldorado Fortress was also a dissapointment. Amateur designers at Rebrickable and Bricklink have become so good. Thank you bro!
  10. The original medieval market from more then a decade ago looks so much superior.
  11. Left building is underwhelming. Try to get in BDP but I can't get in. The server doesn't hold
  12. I've just seen a hi res pic of the front of the box on Instagram. The minifigs look great. The buildings are nice but it seems open back. Don't like that. So if it's open back, not sure if am going to buy it. I am defenitely going for Mountain Fortress at Bricklink over 2 hours! 340€ in Europe. That's a better deal.
  13. This looks so good! What a pitty I was in my dark ages back then.
  14. Totally agree! It's a civilian set. So let the peasants shine!
  15. I know this is the medieval market forum but I am just curious : Who is going to buy the Black Falcons Mountain Fortress on Bricklink 7 february? I think it looks very good and I am trying to get one.
  16. I just want to support an amateur designer (mocyourbricks) who earns a little bit extra so he can pay his college loans and save up for a house. What's wrong with that? Even if the IP is stolen from a multinational. I am fine with it. I have a soft spot for the weak and the underdogs. Oh, by the way : I viewed all the Starwars series without paying for it. Yes someone pirated that for me. Yes, I am pirate scum . But in return, the money I did not spend to that company, I gave to charity. I donate to charity every month. My opinion : yes, it's ok to steal from the filthy rich and give to the poor. Long live Robin Hood! Long live the forrest people from classic Lego castle!
  17. There is a difference between stealing from a person and stealing from a multi billion dollar company that doesn't care about the lore George Lucas created. But I can feal your anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering... Lol
  18. I was talking about the adult market. The catalogs are targeting kids and that's fine. But if you like historical stuff, other brands do a better job of that. Why do you assume I don't buy much Lego products? Last year I bought : police station, Rivendell, Motorized lighthouse, Viking Village, Jurassic Park 30 anniversary sets, and 2 times Eldorado Fortress (just to make it bigger)
  19. Yes, the Black Pearl is a Disney product. But the design of Mouldking was created by MOCYourBricks. MOCYourBricks gets compensated by Bluebrixx.(the company that sells the moc of him) And if Disney really wants my money they just have to make an ultimate collectors edition Black Pearl and I will buy it. But they don't so I buy Mouldking. And Disney is a shitty company that didn't support Johny Depp and it destroyed the original Starwars trilogy by making the sequels so bad. So they deserve to be pirated.
  20. They should have used burps to create the raised baseplate so more budget was available for the fort itself. Lego did a good job with the motorized lighthouse. And lets face it guys : classic themes are not Lego's priority. It's Starwars and Harry Potter
  21. This topic is called : do you buy only Lego? How can you discuss this without mentioning other brands? And people are taking this way to serious. I love satire. About Mouldking : The Black Pearl is designed by MOCYourBricks. Even he uses alternative bricks. Just watch YouTube. He gets compensated by Bluebrixx. The quality of Mouldking is very good. I have bought the Black Pearl from Mouldking on the Bluebrixx site so I know what I am talking about . I was once a Lego purist myself. But because Lego is so much focused on Starwars and Harry Potter that I don't feel that I am their target audience anymore. Live long and prosper!
  22. I was impressed with Pirates of Barracuda bay, the Galaxy Explorer remake (1,5xbigger then the original) and ofcourse the Lion Knights castle blew me away. Then the rumours spread about Eldorado Fortress. So I was super hyped because Lego allready made 3 fantastic classic sets. But when the first picture arrived.... I was so underwelmed I didn't want to buy. I eventually bought it with double VIP. So yes I have the set now but it's not a great set. I really want to like it but I can't. It just looks like a 3in1 creator playset, not a display set. The original looked great in 1989 but it's too small and to blocky. The governors office is just a facade and the original doors looks way better then the new ones. It's just a very lazy remaster . But that's just my opinion.
