This is basicly a combination of a milenium falcon cockpit, a sith fury, a lot of weapons and my imagination (this isn't star wars anymore :P ) Sith Fury: I didn't like the cockpit of the sith fury but I looove the shape of the wings..... it looks sooo evil :P so I used that as a starting point and even kept most of the wings original Milenium falcon: bought it dirt cheap for parts and the cockpit, been looking at a lot of sets that had the right cocpit just can't get enough of building things that I wasn't capable of when i was a kid the pilot: (made him look as evil as possible) the ship: (interior is still a work in progress) -foldable wings -lots of firepower -foldable landing gear there is room for 4 minifigs or 2 minifigs and cargo 3 compartiments: -place for the pilot -place for a gunner -place for 2 minifigs or cargo in the back pics of the inside will come soon, those are still a WIP Added some extra engines ;) + view on the cargobay door I'm still trying to figure out what to do with the baseplate to display the ship so ideas are always welcome Thanks for watching so far ;)

I've been busy :P this started out as set 5867 (super speedster) , this is the result of using google search for camaros, started building the front and moved to the back of the car and this is the result, I'm very pleased with it :D and it takes 2 minifigs ;) Thanks for watching!

Thanks a lot! to lower the floor you'll need to remove the 2 blue long technic beams (chassis) and replace that with 4 4stud (3hole) ones or something else you come up with to put the axles trough. that allows you to make a new floor very low in the car I cleaned up the bottom using white plates with a black plate on top to keep it in 1 piece and act as a black floor inside the car, should be a very easy mod but you'll need some spares to mount everything back together underneath: (1 big white plate should even be better) and the doors still open ;)

Hey guys, I'm a big fan of lego technic (from when i was a kid) and creator (since the last 2 years) really dig the highway speedster (have 2 of them) The original car: (set) the pics come from: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=78797 and they belong to RUFUS How it started: I've stumbeled upon a video recently in the youtube lego channel about making cars "cool" with flames and all it gave me some inspiration and this is The result: I've lowered the car a little bit and did an attempt to make the body smoother: V8 engine and crome exhaust: new interior: (handbrake and some gauges): wing + lowered the body and gave the back more of a GT racing car look: Minifigs fit without a problem due to the lowered floor (they even fit with the roof on): hope you like it and thanks a lot for watching!

Simple Robotic arm on tracks
3nslav3 replied to 3nslav3's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you! The arm has no complicated mechanics, the 2 main turnables for the main arm movement are driven by 2 8T gears and 2 worm gears directly from a motor, that means that each turnable has a gear on both sides so the gears don't break while lifting heavy loads and the worm gears are used to make sure the arm doesn't fall down, I've tried to avoid worm gears in an early build but the arm kept falling down under load :( (I've tried friction pins with 8t gears on them but they warn out fast and they don't do much good to batterie life) every other function of the arm is driven directly by motors mounted as close as possible to the function (to avoid the usage of gears as much as possible => keeping it simple) the arm is controlled by standard lego IR remotes, no programming is involved, I'm very happy with the results so far, the arm is light, fast and it's a lot of fun to lift things up and move things around next step will be dressing up with some yellow panels when I have the time -

I think that your creation is turning into a piece of art lol I've never seen anything like it -
Simple Robotic arm on tracks
3nslav3 replied to 3nslav3's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
yes it looses grip indeed when I rotate the gripper, but I'm not planning to change it because of the length and the weight of the wrist, I would like to keep it "flexible" do you have pics or vids of that robot? It's not that fast anymore :( , I had to use worm gears to make the arm able to lift heavy loads without falling down, I tried friction pins with gears to keep the arm up at first but the friction pins warn out very fast here is a video of the arm lifting some things: you will notice at about halfway the video that the wrist with linear actuators can be very precise http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYKRJbq6dMU&hd=1 Enjoy and Thanks for watching -

yes I did, it's able to lift those big unimog wheels i'll be adding rubbers to the claw later (maybe a different claw) -
Simple Robotic arm on tracks
3nslav3 replied to 3nslav3's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you all for the reply's!!! here is a short video of the movement of the arm (because you asked for it ) (I did not rotate the base of the robot due to a lack of an IR channel) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gd2rnb9XtQs -
Hi all, This is something I started working on this morning: My idea for this moc came from these kinds of robots: the most important thing I wanted to recreate is the wrist at the end of the robot arm (turning, bending verticaly and horizontaly) for the rest of the arm I used turnables instead of linear actuators (just like the real thing except for the wrist) main specs: 5 medium pf motors 3 xl motors (2 for propulsion) 4 turnables 3 batterie boxes (counterweight and power) 4 IR receivers what is important for me in this moc: -the wrist -speed of the arm!!! -tracks for fun -not to much wobbling -simple!!! (no complicated mechanics) this is still an early work in progress, the arm is able to move now, I still have to make it more solid so the arm will be able to lift things up I'll keep you guys informed of my progress Thank you very much for watching update: 9-1-2012 movement video (I did not rotate the base of the robot due to a lack of an IR channel ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gd2rnb9XtQs update: 11-1-2012 -got rid of the lowest turnable due to the "wobble" and the lack of a 9th IR chan -replaced the gears with worm gears New video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYKRJbq6dMU&hd=1

8070 with some mods
3nslav3 replied to 3nslav3's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
here is an update on the changes so far: small battpack PF connectors are HUGE!!!! working wheel, shifter and switch to turn the compressor on/off top of the 5 speed + R gearbox (credit to Paul Boratko) pneumatic rear brake-wing (that is hidden behind a panel while closed) back of the car with PF lights, hidden batt-box and 4 extra panels, the top panel flips automaticly open to make room for the wing using a very simple mechanism front of the car with PF lights modified suspension due to the extra weight and cleaned up the engine space the car also has 2 seats now and the compressor is hidden behind the drivers seat I have no idea what stuff I will change next, I'll see what I can come up with :P but so far.... this car is getting full :P -
You are right I didn't know that 8 tooth gears could give that much extra friction, I was blaming the chassis at first and because I was still working on it, I didn't mind, I've added a liftarm to stabilize the gears and it works super smooth thanks a lot for the tip! This is something that I will never forget
-
alright, I uploaded a few pics of the WIP: it has less blue parts sticking out now tho ;) as you can see... there is still a lot of work to do but so far... I'm very happy edit: the medium PF motor is for a small compressor under the driver seat, the motor will be powered by a small batt pack hidden in the back of the car

I agree with the bottom width of the gearbox but on the other hand, I'm pretty sure it's the only way on getting the reverse gear in the correct place I've managed to fit this gearbox in my 8070! I had to make it shorter and RWD (I was amazed how short I managed to make it, 9 studs with beams included) and even managed to use beams on top that are only half a stud in width. when combined with part 4539880 you get a very stiff and strong chassis (pix will follow soon this weekend in my 8070 thread) I'm still working on it ;)
-
I've figured it out :D instead of thinking about the gear ratio's and messing with gears / bricks..... I literally copyd the pics into bricks lol I think to complicated sometimes -_- but I have to say: this gearbox is massive!(=>good) bigger then the one of the concept car but better functionality and more easy / simple to build without the need of "special" parts huge props to Paul Boratko! time to toss this bunch of gears in my 8070 :P edit: I can post some pics of a "naked version" (for the people who have trouble building it) of this transmission, I don't know if permission is needed from the original designer :/ so please let me know if it is okay (dluders or paul?)

same with my girlfriend :D we were doing some xmas shopping untill we got the "crazy" idea of buying a lego set and have some fun on a cold winter evening. and now... we are addicted, she loves the creator and the modular buildings (just finished the pet shop :P ) and i'm hooked on lego technic again (I really like the new studless pieces) we still even have the lego bricks from 15 years ago and about the VW van... i'm probably getting 2 sets :D girlfriends and lego can be a perfect combination!!!

8070 with some mods
3nslav3 replied to 3nslav3's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you! no it doesn't have a motor to drive itself and i'm not planning to make it like that, a fake engine and working incar steering wheel is enough for me :P Nice!!! I've tried to place the original batterie box somewhere else but there is just no room :( is the AAA batterie box the same size as the rechargable batterie box? (cheaper) (=> edit: never mind, they are :D) I don't have extra panels but I'm thinking to order a few after seeing what you did ;) Thank you for the info and the tip!!! a youtube movie of the pneumatics: (sry for the crappy quality and the messed up cropped vid size -_- ) the 8070 deserves a lot better then the stock rear end
