De'kra walked through the hall, the great structure void of life. As he walked the shade spotted an archer settling down for a beverage. De'kra approached the ranger and clicked, "Hall always empty when quests? I think there over fifty heroes total, only six heroes left. Where the other forty two heroes? Not count I and you."
-
De'kra nods and walks away towards the hall. Honestly the shade feels some resentment to the villagers of this world. Not because of the treatment of modern Orcs, though their was anger towards that as well, but that they surrendered. If Ennon was truly their home, they should have struggled to reclaim it. Villagers grow too weak when not cornered, when heroes can save them. They abandoned their home, fleeing from a danger. And because of that their home is no more. They didn't have to fight the Orcs, but at the least they could have tried to rebuild.

I have a question, though it has no bearing on me. Let's say you want to use an identified enemy race, like a Bugbear, as your character's race. Could you do this? I assume this would require backstory to explain differing stats between your character and it's race.

If only I had not let this series pass me by. Looking back there were so many great figures, especially that Hazmat guy. Not to mention the Werewolf and his glorious Elf Ears. All in all I can only feel regret I didn't get any of this figures when they were on the market.

Good to know, have you any plans to make the Centaur tribe? On the matter of the update, the library looks nice but why does it curve around a gap? Is it one of those hinged rooms which flip open?
-
The shade entered the library, noting that like the hall it seemed empty of life. Walking to the Metasimian librarian, De'kra asked, "What end Ennon kingdom? I think Veterans defeat Orcs, why kingdom still end?"

Wow, this is a great Hogwarts castle. The only rooms I don't see featured yet is the Slytherian rooms, and the room of requirement. But there are so many features included, you even have a Quidditch field. This is an impressive structure, will the Forbbiden Forest be added?

This brightened my day. The only thing that vexes me is the big time skip between fish and mammal. A frog could have worked as a placeholder for amphibians, although nothing could be done for Lego's lack of non-snake reptiles. Also not sure if clams belong in the sequence, I would guess one of the worm phylum would be first, if anything because of similarities with hagfish and lamprey. Details aside, where did you get that long bone from? Is it custom?

I think my favorite villain might be Jawblade or Thornraxx.. The bulk of Hero Factory uses a humanoid format, with one head, two arms, and two legs. Some had variations, like Waspix with more arms a stringer and wings, but it was still very human like. The other beasts of the summer line also strayed, but they were creatures and intended to be used as generics, like the Bohrok of yesteryear. The one creature that was really different was Scorpio, but I have yet to hear positivity about that set. Really the basic design has gotten old, at least in my opinion. But 2012 starts with two unique villains, both with less than four limbs. Thornraxx interests me because of its nostalgic shape, is it just me, or is this an updated Nui-Rama? Jawblade on the other hand has a great shark like design, although it has to hold its front fins in it's hands.

Underwater Version Contest Entry: Set 8402 Sports Car
Tanma replied to Legostein's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Nice variation, the only thing that seems the same is the phone. The car makes the transition to sub well, it looks like the Propellers are maneuverable for rising or sinking in the water. The kelp is a great replacement for the tree, a good substitution but still unique enough to be it's own. Good luck in the contest. -
Glad to help. Clever idea using the pins on the skulls to fit onto the arm armor. It creates a nice contrast for a super advanced robot. It kind of reminds me of 2001, where the Matoran had regressed in tech after the Metru- Nui saga. Speaking of 2001, have you considered replacing his sword with Kopaka's blade? It's a bit smaller, but it fits his color scheme better and is a bit more compact.
-
Evo is my favorite, at least based on his pose. The gunmetal arm looks almost like a mechanical prosthetic, like his first right arm was ripped off. His helm reminds me of Dekar, and thanks to its color scheme could be used for Iron Tribe MOCs. Not to mention he is pretty compact, which fits his heavy armament. The only issues I have with him is his colors. The yellow and gunmetal is fine, both are good colors and were in his first form. But his white emblem feels like an eyesore, and the lack of purple is most disturbing. As other members mentioned, his first scheme had violet and continuity would be nice. They have had purple translucent pieces in the past, would it be so hard to make a purple Agori head? Despite that he is still the preferred set for me.

Harry Potter and the Sword of Irony
Tanma replied to the last chronicler's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
There will be more, but we will have to wait. -
Why doesn't Lego do that? It would even fit with the adaptable morphing structure of Hogwarts, staircases move around constantly and the RoR itself changes it's entire shape. It would be a little impractical in sheer size, but it would be a great way for a detailed Hogwarts castle.

Nice creations, ironic that you made the camper van in time for a set to be made.

Fresh characters can be nice, but I personally want returning villains along with heroes. One thing that annoys me about Hero Factory villains is that they come out of nowhere, no foreshadowing and no character development on screen. Von Nebula did have a bit of foreshadowing built into his reveal, but his motives didn't really add up. I would like to see villians who have more depth, who were defeated once before, but that taught them something. Maybe even a villian who is starting to have doubts in criminal activities.I do agree that the fell from grace theme is old, you think that they would build firewalls into Heroes and their aids to prevent corruption of ethics.

There aren't too many parts I must admit. 2003Makuta has some gunmetal, although an early shade, could the Kraata containment tubes work? Or could you use a Krana-Kal? They had very intricate faces, and many came in Gunmetal. Or would a piece in white work as well? Both versions of Toa Nuju have some interesting pieces, like his Hordika head and his Metru shoulder armor.
-
I personally don't think Hero Factory is ending. As others mentioned the theme is doing well, it doesn't make sense to end it. Now if the escapees are previous villains, then I could see this as an climax to the three prior parts. But that doesn't mean it must end. Bionicle reached a climax back in 2003, but it didn't end then. Then we reached another in 2005 with the end of the prequels, and in 2008 with the heroes losing to a now god like evil. So even if this is the dramatic conclusion to all the prior adventures, it doesn't have to end.

De'kra awoke to see the last of the chosen heroes heading to quest 5. Now the only quest he was signed up for was quest 4, taming the lions. The shade wasn't sure what it's subtitle had to do with stopping raiders, but maybe that was the emblem of the bandits.
-
Good to know.

De'kra glanced over the hall, and relaxed as the sun began to set. It looked like it would be a cloudy night, at least over Heroica Hall. Clouds meant that those accursed stars won't shine, wouldn't burn into the sealed scars of his mind. De'kra could be calm as long as the stars were not out.

Wow, nice system. I have to say I am impressed that this can hold two moving trains with so few support beams, with such a gap between poles. The only issue I have with it is the fact that cars have to be four bricks wide, and not a brick wider. Still, sacrifices have to be made. Will a city be built in the center?
-
De'kra started to leave the hall, but not before glancing at the image of the Fey One. The mysterious elf intrigued the shade, as both of their pasts were shrouded. De'kra wondered where this elf was, if it still remained on this world. Either way, the shade left the gallery, though slowly as to not disturb the chicken.
-
De'kra wondered where the chicken had come from. The only person he had seen with a chicken was another rogue, so perhaps it was his. Not to mention the chicken had been on that rogue's head.
