IC: De'kra nodded as Thothwick mentioned the situation, before he handed three gold to the mother Metasimian. "That all I can afford to give," he clicked more to himself than anyone in particular, "Rest I save in case of emergency."
-
IC: De'kra paused as Namyrra laid down the law. She was right, they had come here for a specific purpose, but it felt so wrong to leave these people to suffer. But every second they were away the girl's friend could be in danger. There was no easy solution here. De'kra's eyes shifted to a golden hue, saved by the voice's wisdom. The echo clicked, "If heroes need to move on now, I guess I can go. We could always give aid at later time anyway, like when we finish quest. It might be harder if people we see have urgent needs, but as child's friend is missing, she may have time limit too. Make sense?" As the echo noticed a few more individuals blocking them, De'kra waited for Thothwick to translate. He had only so much emergency gold left, and he preferred to know what everyone was saying before he made a rash decision..

Yeah, I don't see it either. I suppose when you humanize to that degree, it gets hard to tell. What species was the rich girl anyway? I think Francine was a monkey, but I'm not sure.

Of course he is, this is Olegaia we are talking about. ...You know when I hear mention of Arthur, I think of two things. One, kings of Camelot. And two, the televised adventures of an aardvark. Just a wierd little fact.
-
IC: De'kra replied softly, "I...can comprehend that logic. But if you cut someone off from help completely, they will die, which will be just as bad. And help others might inspire some to help in turn. At least that make sense to I. Besides, this person has no arm. And although I no expert in organic life, I think his time on Olegaia might be...not so long. It probably too late to affect his mindset anyway. And not to assume, but I would guess that what he can give best can give is information, not physical labor. No offense sir."

I sense...a disturbance. As if a billion monkeys cried all out at once, and then were silenced. ...I might have misquoted. But yeah waiting for a quest can be boring, especially since few heroes are left in the hall. I suggest visiting the library and market place, at least that will pass the time a little.

IC: Towards Guts De'kra clicked, "Even if they likely lying, I would rather give what small amount of useless metal to them just in case. It not like heroes need gold to survive, heroes get pretty much all requirements from hall. Only reason for heroes to have gold is too exchange it for supplies to later missions and to upgrade gear. And I already have enough gear, at least base on other quests."
-
IC: De'kra clicked sadly, "I have little gold left, but I can give you two pieces. By way, what happen to rest of your arm?" The echo's eyes had changed to a green hue, even as he glanced at the hurrying mother and child. Any thoughts of squishy, slimy, eggs had left his mind as he watched them rush off.
-
IC: De'kra clicked, "I have little gold left, but might remedy help him?" The echo mentally filed away the story Jade KraCKen, it might not be related to the current quest, but knowledge is power.

IC: De'kra turned to face the stranger and clicked, "I am call De'kra. It good to meet you too, but how you know I? I apologize if you and I met before, my memory has gotten better in last year, but I still suffer some amnesia."
-
IC: De'kra clicked, "Agreed, only few truly free in Eubric. Heroes just not have to notice it since we have needs met by Heroica Hall, and most people who hire heroes are rich. It...disturb how close this is to Hall."
-
IC: De'kra nodded at the guard and clicked, "Understood." The echo moved on, following the others down into the district. Personally the echo wondered what the houses in power were thinking, the guard nailed it when she said this was inevitable. There was no way a system of such uneven conditions could last, and no reason for it to exist. Psychotic selfish Ulanders. As the echo spotted the youth he clicked, "I have some gold to spare." The echo immediately handed over 10 gold, though the temptation to give over all of his gold was strong. Still, giving over this pathetic symbolic variable in large amounts might stop the child from trying to work on their own. Likewise as much as the echo hated to consider it, De'kra had been lied too plenty of times before. It might not be a good idea to give too much. Butit felt wrong to withhold funds from one who might need it more. Having a better idea, De'kra clicked to the party leader, "Namyrra, could you use your gem to summon food?"

Agreed, you are quite skilled at moments like this. I'm glad De'kra got to share one earlier. Interesting that Arthur wanted to learn knowledge to forget, while the thirst for knowledge De'kra has was to remember.

Yeah, I am starting to worry that this might be the "disk one" finale for Heroica, in part because of the timing. This is the anniversary of Heroica, and we are going on a Quest with an 100 percent acceptance rate. It just seems like this is going to be an important plot point for the Central Quests. Maybe I am misinterprating this though. By the way, great set indeed.

Well originally I had hoped to have my character be a bat, but that didn't fly as you know. (Boooo) However since I conceived De'kra, he has been practically unchanged. I had his back story planned from day one, and the details I have changed were mostly aesthetics, like the entity like De'kra having eight eyes. I had not necessarily planned for De'kra to hear the voices, but they were involved from the start. So pretty much everything was planned, except for character development like the ending of Quest 4, or his refusal to use bombs since Dastan.

IC: De'kra looked up and down the wall, his eyes flashing green. Finally he forced his eyes to crystal, and clicked neutrally, "We not come here to destroy wall. This is first time I for one heard of it, why is it being made? I assume construction of wall is heavily oppose, if that is your first thought when you see people?" OOC: Not that I mind, but I used fifty gold to fuse the scroll to the locket, so I should have only 25 gold left.

Nice picture, I never before noticed the wrinkles (?) in Arthur's face. Judging by the fact that he is 20 years old, if memory serves, I assume these wrinkles come from the stress of his life? Or possibly experiments in chaotic forces, forces that have slowly begun to age him before his time? Or could they maybe, just maybe, be because the piece naturally has them? Aside from that the grin looks a little out of place, but you can't help that.

IC: De'kra nodded and clicked, "It would be good to fight alongside you. You know any other heroes will travel and? Heroes I know well are Nerwen from Dastan, and Cinna from Quest 4. Both good heroes, so it would be good to travel and them again. I know less of Sarick since he not socialize much, but I know he very fond of dragons. I also travel and Guts in Quest 20, but he and I...not get along. Hopefully he and I will be less hostile on this quest. Still, what you know of other heroes?"

IC: De'kra observed Hybros sitting alone. The echo carefully stood up, and walked over to where the Imp rested. "You okay," he clicked, "Is something wrong?"

Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
Tanma replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
Curse you, I was all set to have De'kra be a Chi Monk, and now I am conflicted. Have you decided how they get the wings? -
Yeah I can see Arthur as pretty messed up, though it depends on the scaling method as to if he is second. Still, if eating that guy's arm as a form of torture seemed reasonable, he definitely has a shot. Now De'kra really only had one bad thing happened to him, but it was done by people he cared a lot about, and who he thought cared about him. Something that can be seen as worse than murder, again depending on scale. Its complicated. And pretty soon as he probes his memories he is going to start realizing something...scary. Speaking of which, does De'kra still consist with his behavior and character development? I think he is good, but outsider opinions can be useful.
-
Won't it be something more like BTT, Bardic Theater?
-
I don't think so, as I already have two flehed-out concepts for my second character planned. Both of the ideas depend on variables outside my power, so I also have a less detailed control as back-up. I haven't started building either possibility yet, but I am already working on mannerisms and backstory. Of course I tend to get ahead of myself in projects, as my habit of planning out sequels to unfinished stories proves. Edit: sorry for not being as active, but I had nothing to contribute to the equipment conversation.

IC: De'kra watched with concern as Tarn seemed to tremble in his sleep. The echo could only stare, unsure of how to proceed. De'kra didn't need sleep, didn't need to rest. The oly reason he did was to recover health, and to dream. To visit his memories and past, to witness the grand city of Metru-Nui unfold before him, dreams werea sanctuary. Their only downside was that they all ended, leaving him sad. But he had never had a painful dream, not like that. What was he suppose to do. Gradually the barbarian relaxed, easing De'kra for the moment. Despite the calm the echo continued to glance at the hero, just in case.

Just to let you know, collage has started back up for me, so I will not be quite as active. It shouldn't affect much, as my obsessiveness should keep me posting regardless, but I felt like it should be mentioned, in case events go out of my control. They shouldn't though. On regards to Quest 44, the fact that we have a 48 hour sign up period only makes me more frightened. Of course the award should have tip me off from the start that this would be unusual.
