Let me add my happy birthday wish to the list! You're one of the bestest ever and you deserve a great birthday!
-
Ha! That was my exact reaction when I first saw this new set! It'll take away from my castle fund, but darn it looks cool.

Don't know if this helps, but it's listed in this week's online advert: http://akimages.crossmediaservices.com/dyn...g_565594210.jpg The advert page address: http://toysrus.shoplocal.com/toysrus/defau...dToysRus-071014 Might be kinda cool, but 69.99 USD is too much for me to pay for Legos that can't be MOC'd ;-)

My thoughts exactly--armor should be non-faction specific. Even the skellies need something to protect their vital organs...wait... *skull*

What game are we playing at the moment?

Sounds like a game I might need to use a couple of sick days for >:-) -

hmmmmm....I was just looking at World in Conflict the other day--looks pretty good. Is it similar to Company of Heroes? I'm assuming that you recommend WiC ;-) Currently I'm into Rome Total War again. I love that game. I tried to get into Medieval II Total War a couple of times, but it just doesn't suck me in like Rome does. -
"He reminds me of me when I first started posting."---Well, I'll take that as a compliment. *sweet* I don't know if everyone here will agree, though... >:-) I'll probably keep explaining I'm joking until it gets well established that generally I'm full of it. Instead of people asking "Wait, is he serious?", they should say "Oh, that guy--yeah, he's full of it. Don't mind him. We all think he's brain-damaged." ;-) And yes, the megabloks helicopter is a true story. I remember the day...the sun was shining, birds were singing...I picked up a neatly-wrapped present whilst everyone else was enjoying the cake...I shook the present, hearing that delightful jingle-jangle of bagged plastic pieces...the wrapping came off quickly, and my initial response was a gasp--I didn't even know that Lego had made a helicopter set! Then, realization set in...it wasn't Lego! Nooooooooo! Still, I was raised to be polite...so I managed a weak smile and said "Thanks!" while fighting the rising bile in my throat...I wanted to smash the cake with the offensive box and scream "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!?!?" And then I remembered that you shouldn't take life too seriously, so I went off later that day and bought some Legos for myself. happy ending! --Buckshot (who is not currently drunk)

I think I read somewhere that some drugs (especially marijuana) is sold in Ziploc sandwich baggies. Those people giving you funny looks are probably thinking you're a pot dealer... Good answer to the checkout girl, though! >:-) As for my quirks, I'm not quite as bad as Brick Miner, but I do keep the brick bags from sets if the bags are numbered (but only if they're numbered...analysis, Dr. Freud?). Also, my attic is packed with Lego boxes that are stored in the giant Ziploc bags. Another quirk I have is that when I see something I like on Brickshelf, I print off the picture. There's a stack of probably 400-500 pictures upstairs (this helps me to pirate other people's ideas >:-) )

Hmmm....my parents told me the same thing when I was growing up.* -Buckshot *That was meant for humorous consumption. I am in no implying that my parents ever abused me, except for that one time when I got a Megabloks helicopter for my birthday. Now THAT'S advice I can follow! Ok, I'm going to combine what I learned from Mister Phes and imperialshadows: Hey! Even though I'm new to posting here, you should listen to me because I know more than everyone here combined! My opinions are the only ones that TLG should listen to! So Lego, listen up! Bring back old grey! Drop the Star Wars liscense and bring back Blacktron! Make Pirates of the Caribbean sets! And we need bigger Lego ice cube trays! If my demands aren't met, I'm going to sell all my Lego and buy Megabloks instead!* -Buckshot >:-) *That was totally a joke, but it hurt to even type that line :-X p.s. I just wanted to add, in seriousness, that during my lurking time I became quite impressed with Mister Phes' dedication to the pirate forums. Mister Phes, my sword is yours.

"pre-placating"--that's what I was looking for! That sounds pretty official. There's been threads I've looked at with one or two questions being asked repeatedly, and I'm trying to minimize the number of whackings I receive. Having been unwhacked as of yet, I fear a whacking like a vampire fears sunlight. Especially a whacking of the magnitude that Hinckley can deliver.* -Buckshot *is it just me, or did that start to sound a little dirty?
-
Ah--the thread is mightiest leader, the poll was labeled "favorite". In that case, it's obvious--the mightiest leader is the whoever has the most rum. :-$

Ah, that helps. I read the first couple of pages of the TIE army thread, then the last couple of pages, and it didn't make sense (probably due to the 283 pages in between ;-) ). Thanks for the advice. Now I can quote you if I get flamed >:-) -Buckshot (trying to hide his newb status) p.s. Judging by your signature info, I'm glad you didn't tell me "The answer to your question is 42."

I'm not sure if this is the proper place for this question (so please move it if it isn't ;-) ): What's the best way to join a discussion thread that has been around a long time? I think that if a thread only has a few replies, then one should read them all before posting their own in order to avoid redundancy. However, some threads are quite long (I believe "The Tie Army Wants YOU" has 285 pages of replies), and reading all of the replies would take away from my MOC time. Still, I would like to join in on some of those discussions. It's sort of like when you're watching a movie and someone shows up when the movie's half-over and starts asking questions >:-( I don't want to be the guy who shows up half-way through and ruins the movie. I hope that question makes sense.... The Eurobricks community is pretty understanding and has been very welcoming , so please don't take this question as a criticism!

Norro! Thanks for the welcome. I've been impressed by your Lego work for quites some time, and almost as impressive is your consistently pleasant demeanor. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance!

Nope, never got a spare bag of parts. Once, though, I got a wrong bag of parts in a helicopter set. I think the wrong parts came from a Harry Potter set. Never did get to finish putting that helicopter together... :'-(

Elves...that would be sweet...I'm still excited about orcs and trolls. I hope they stay around much longer than the vikings so that I can build an army.

I'd probably like ANY type of new system pirate...please, Lego? *sweet* For this, I like the Aztec gold idea. This would allow for a large Spanish/Conquistador style ship. A ship would need a port (large base), although that could leave the Aztecs outnumbered. If Lego reused the Spanish minifigs from the days of yore, they could introduce one or two new figs for the Aztec side; perhaps a warrior with a jaguar or eagle mask. Also, for the port, instead of the fortress include a warehouse or shop or a church/monastery. A minifig monk would be sweet. The medium base would be for the Aztec treasure itself...perhaps something that could be combined with the upcoming Indiana Jones sets. Some sort of temple with the jaguar or eagle masked figs as guards. Then I'd swap out the small base and boat for army-builders; maybe a jaguar or eagle statue (brickmade) with three or four Aztec warriors, and then a small boat with three or four Spanish/Conquistador soldiers as a landing party. For the final small island set, I'd like a guard tower for the port. Or maybe a small lighthouse. As for names, Moctezuma (Montezuma) for the Aztec leader, and Cortes for the Spanish, would be historically accurate. Otherwise, something like Aztl

Captain Ironhook got my vote. Just look at him--no fancy dress, just a knife--he's all about business. He's got tenacity and the willingness to get dirty. Besides, of the leaders in the poll, he's got the least to lose. You should always fear the man who has little or nothing to lose...

Thanks for the info--although now I have drool on my keyboard *sweet* -
I had to go with the classic dragon. It fits better with the horses, crocodiles, monkeys, and Buckbeaks. watching Batbrick stalk iamded, who is stalking Batbrick...

Oh, that is sooooooo going to be my signature!

Awwww...warm, fuzzy feelings all over! You're quite welcome--and I'm glad that you got the set, as you were able to give it the review it deserves. Now we'll just have to see which of use gets that orc/goblin/troll ship first!

I'd be interested to see more of these MOCs. The car looks pretty good. Where did you find the weapons? -
Dang, I'm 35, which is the oldest I've seen on this thread. Guess I should change my name to "Grandpa Buckshot"...
