  1. "...5 gold off on all drinks." says the man reluctantly. "Most are closed, if only because of the time of day, and the dragon issue. they're calling me crazy for keeping the Half Moon open, and ya know what? They're probably right."
  2. "We have the standard fare." Mead (Causes the encouraged-effect, doubling the target's attack power for the duration of one battle.) Costs 15 gold. Smelling Salts (Causes the hastened-effect, allowing the target to act twice in one round for the duration of one battle.) Costs 25 gold. Nostrum (Causes the lucky-effect, allowing the target to roll the battle die twice and get the better result of the two for the duration of one battle.) Costs 35 gold. "Sputnik? Never heard of him. The Cathedral of Ennoc and Yukumo are still standing, last I heard. Algon is... All gone, unfortunately. A lot of people fled from there to Yukumo and Cenauri, but if the dragon doesn't die soon..." The barkeep frowns, not comfortable with the subject.
  3. The party splits ways... --------------------------------- Karie and Jinnipher track down the source of the voice... The party saw the wreckage of a old cottage, but more importantly, an old man whose legs were pinned down by a toppled beam, presumably part of the house that once stood here. "Help, please..." he rasps, his voice dry and laced with pain. ------------------------------------------ Skrall, Flynn, Warlne, and Sandman hastily make their way to cenauri, and duck into the first building they see there. A bar and brothel that once had pristine white walls was now a mottled grey due to the fog. With that omen re-enforcing what was about to descend upon Moone, the party eetners the bilding and slams the door shut. The barkeep goes over and makes sure it's sealed up well, before returning to his post behind the bar. "I see you brought friends, Sandman!" "More like associates." "Pah, you'd call your own family associates. Well, fellas, the clock is about to strike midnight, so you're stuck in here for a while. It usually takes about half an hour, maybe a full one, for it to be safe out there... Want a drink 'till then?" The blonde woman, clad in a black dress just revealing enough for her profession, approaches Sandman. "I'm going to guess you're not interested in a drink, right, Sandman?" It would seem Sandman had been a customer here previously. Sandman removes his helmet, placing it on the table. "Not particularly, Kim." Sandman places the money on the counter, and the two of them go to a room in the back... "He's a character, isn't he?" says the barkeep, polishing a glass.
  4. QM Note: Just so you know how to progress and i don't leave you hanging, I'll wait for the Party leader to make the final call.
  5. Was Kiray the one Karie bickered with in Q62, or am I thinking of someone else?
  6. "No." "If we defeat it, we live. if we don't, we die with everyone else." "Faust told me to make sure you don't die, probbly because he doesn't want to answer to the Heroica higher-ups. I will go where the party leader goes. If Skrall chooses to throw himself into danger, then so be it. I will not breach contract. But I have made it clear that saving that person will be a bad idea."
  7. "The dragon, should he follow the pattern he's been following for the past few weeks, will be airborne. And don't ask me to shoot him. There's not enough diazepam in the world to get me to shoot a shot straight up at a fast moving target like that, especially with the fog covering it. I'd also like to state that Cenauri is on the way to the Cathedral, where Sputnik was seen last. And, according to the King, he'll be neccasary in negating the beast's fog. Listen to reason. What is the more likely scenario? There is shelter in a place we can see is utterly decimated, or there is shelter in a town that may very well be still standing? And even if Cenauri is razed, we're still closer to our goal. That person's life isn't worth it."
  8. "And let's say it's not trap, and it's just someone who is incapacitated. We help them out, and it's too late for any of else to get to shelter. What then? Perhaps it goes against your instincts as a hero. I'm making a guess here by saying that, since we can hear the voice from here, they likely aren't in any sort of shelter. So even if we "save" thi person, we're all getting gassed anyway. Put your bravado aside and think of the most likely option." Sandman's voice, despite the urgency of the situation and the possible life that hung in the balance, still contained almost no traces of emotion. What was wrong with this man...? Pragmatism is one thing, but the hollowness of this man is another thing entirely...
  9. "Although ou changed your ind to the correct choice, you're very easily dissuaded, Flisperer." notes Sandman. "At midnight, the dragon flies around the entire island to spread his fog. Chances of encountering him on the ground are minimal."
  10. I look in dismay as I see my shot failed to hit my intended target. "Sorry, Althior, still getting used to this." Sorry, Kinto, but I changed to Bloody Bug Mob B. Also, 30+25=55 damage, no?
  11. Sorrow has SP. Sorrow attacks Bloody Bug Mob B from the back wtih fire. Same battle order. "Tenacious little bastards..."
  12. "...Home is a pointless concept. You are where you are, and you obtain the necessities. You can exist in one place for a long period of time, but there's little reason to get the idea that that location is your one true home. You can live virtually anywhere else." "Now that we've all chipped in, let's head down to the galley to eat." The party heads below deck to the galley, and meet the chef. Flynn presents the barnacle to the chef... "I... Uh. Huh. I can do... something with this." As he finishes up the swordfish, Chef Perdue presents Flynn with... Barnacle Broth: Delicious and nutritious! Restores 20 HP and 20 Ether. The party sits and eats... ---------------------------------------------- A day passes, and morning turns to night. The Excelsus soon has Moone in their sights. "I'll be damned... It really is covered in fog..." "And more importantly - for the Excelsus, at least - looks like the dragon turned your docks to Driftwood." "We got a small rowboat in the hold. We'll get as close as we can and row you over." The party soon finds themselves crammed on a small boat, rowing towards the fog-cloaked Moone. The normally crystalline water was drenched a morbid black by the vorpal fog. They row through the shattered remains of the docks, jagged wood and stone supports bobbing pitifully in the sea. Before long, they reach shore... "...Good luck. Armstrong and I will be remaining offshore, so Vorpalis doesn't get any bright ideas and sink us. When we see the fog start to dissapate... We'll be right here to pick you up, aye? 'Til then, best of luck." The party steps off the small boat, and after a short walk, find themselves in the the center of what used to be a marketplace... The dark fog made it hard to breathe, each breath strained and scratchy... before them, in the center of the ruins, was a statue of King Faust with its head lopped off. The surrounding area was faring just as well, if not worse. Market stands, businesses, houses, all of them were crushed and obliterated, reduced to nothing but ash and shrapnel. The party hears a voice crying for help in the North. Sandman looks up the stars, seems to do some mental math, and speaks. "...Our timing was bad. It's nearly midnight, and there is no shelter left here. If we make a run for it now, we'll be able to get to Cenauri and stay safe from the fog. We have to leave those people." What will the party do?
  13. I would keep the ponytail, but the rest looks good. Alos, sorry 138ers/137ers, I had company over today. rest assured you will get to go to Moone within the next couple of hours.
  14. The saddest part is, handing out Harlot was planned from the beginning.
  15. 138 is 69 x 2...
  16. +10 Power! ...+1 Salmonella... You're free to do it, but don't say I didn't warn you.
  17. "We'll be heading down to the galley, once your make-up wearing comrade puts the mirror down." remarks the captin with a chuckle.
  18. QM Note: No, sorry if my post wasn't clear.
  19. That applies to anything and everything. Also, seriously, don't eat the barnacle until it's cooked...
  20. Warlen checks the octopi for any signs of outside influence. The octopi did not seem to be tampered with... Just smart sea life, apparently. Flynn looks through the octopi corpses to get: Crusty Barnacle: Boil it, mash it, put it in a stew: just, whatever you do, don't eat it raw... "Probably two more days, but no more than that."
  21. If you really do want to take Jinnipher in that direction (for some reason ) seducing Sandman would be as simple as asking him. He's not one to turn that type of thing down.
  22. You've made Sandman such a dirty character. (Even though it was kinda planned.... If you asked him what his errands were back in the hall, he would've flat out said one of them was paying a brothel a visit.)
