"...Then it is reasonable to assume that the fog makes you hallucinate. I will confess that I've been having them as well, only starting after I visted Heroica Hall, but I didn't want to mention it, as it could be misleading. I'm sure you've noticed that I'm... wired differently, from the rest of you, so I was under the assumption the fog's effects on me would be... Unique. It would seem that is not the case"

Troy slides a mead over to Jinnipher. "Enjoy."
-
"Not a problem." Sandman goes back to the bar. He stares at the helmet, seemingly contemplating something, and then puts it on. "Did you encounter anyone? Are you afraid they're following you back?" says Sandman, apparently noticing Karie's skittish demeanor.
-
GameCube.
-
English is hard. Karie notices the initials G.C. engraved on the inside of the helmet.
-
Karie soon finds a glass of strong ale in front of her. Next to her glass is the Sandman's helmet, sitting vacant at the bar. The man was currently preoccupied organizing his equipment - Karie could inspect the helmet if she liked.

"Besides the book and the drinks, 'fraid not." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Karie and Jinnipher trek across Moone. They spot their companions in the windows of the half Moon Bar and walk inside, ragged - reuniting the party. "These your associates, fellas?" says the man behind the bar. At that moment, Sandman strides out from the backroom, looking as neutral, concentrated, and emotionless as ever - albeit a bit sweatier than usual. "You're unwell." He notes, in regards to Karie and Jinnipher. There was no greeting, and no concern in his voice - more of an observation than anything.

"A bone to Vindsval and Throlar, and a venom to Althior and myself. Well fought." I go the door and try to pry off the planks with my staff, using it like a crowbar. -
Nah, those have resale value.

You know how tempted I am to have a tomato randomly drop on Flynn in 138 right now?

Syntax was Sorrow's guilt. As of his training post to go Necromancer, he has no guilt. Therefore no Syntax. Bed rest, Heroica artifacts, and timey wimey stuff are responsible for that.
-
He actually uses one in the Training Room post to trigger his ether abilities. Also, Palathadric, screw Sorrow for having a character arc (and kicking that cheesy split personality to the curb) right?
-
Reading through recent interactions have made me realize how stupid of a name "Sorrow" is for Sorrow... Doesn't sound right anymore. Sure, he was introduced being ~angsty~, but hes not that person anymore.

I'll go back and check, but I'm not sure what's happening to Sorrow's HP I'll make a call when Kintobor clarifies exactly what HP Sorrow is at. -
It was too long ago to find it with the search engine, I thin, but to give you an idea of how the aformentioned PC operated... 1) Hijacked another PC's dragon and used it go on an entire offscreen adventure. 2) Crafted items out of thin air while in Heroica Hall. 3) Once tried t burn down the entire marketplace. Fun times. Fun times.

'Twas a character that once existed as a PC in this very RPG...

We pulled a Drake Flamerobe, and no one listened at orientation.

"I'm not too surprised that it's not your taste, Flynn - I think it's drivel, to be honest, but hey, good "training manual."" ------------------------------------------------------------------- Karie and Jinnipher come back to their senses, dishelved... They look around, and saw that the terrain returned to normal, and the people they had encountered were gone. Unfortunately, the old man who they had sent out to save was dead, perhaps of a heart attack. Perhaps what he saw in the fog overwhelemd him... Would Karie and Jinnipher head to Cenauri?

Sorrow is at full health at the end of Round 3. You said a free hit reduced Sorrow to 10 HP. How'd that happen? -
"It's not the story you're thinkin' of, it's one of Kim's old things she wants to pawn off. 50 Shades of Bley. 1000 gold." "The people who submitted to his rule are mostly in Mermont. Bunch of traitors - how in the world could the capital city be the first to defect? I bet they had to off guard captain Aeolus before his rule was accepted. The man would never let that happen." "Trust me, I feel the same way... I just realized I never got your names - minus Sandman, but I'm sure he has an actual name. I'm Troy."

How did Sorrow take 31 damage from a level 30 mob's free hit? -
Things are getting a little foggy, 138ers.

"I'm not gonna say it isn't profitable, because it definitely is. Everyone is, well, scared out of their minds, plain and simple. And when that happens, they either dull it with some booze or get some more intimate entertainment. Speaking of which any of you in the market for some literature?" "A lot of the wealthy said "screw it" and left, and some commoners did too. But this is home. A lot of people simply can't afford to leave, for one reason or another. A few people have tried, even a few on order from King Faust. It's already become urban legend how their corpses were found, and honestly, I don't believe it. Supposedly a bolt of lightning randomly struck - on a clear night, no less - and right where the bolt struck the first group's ashes, armor, and corpses were there. I don't believe it. It doesn't make any-" The party can hear the sound of a deafening roar. They instinctively cover their ears as the floor shakes and the walls tremble. Before long, the noise passes... The party looks at the windows, and sees nothing but darkness. "Bloody hell! I never get used to that..." The barkeeper mutters, shaking, before handing the party their drinks. "That... Was Vorpalis doing a fly-by. must be midnight, ecause he's dropping the fog again. You better hope your associates are okay..." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Karie and Jinnipher struggle to hoist up the beam, but eventually the old man wriggles out, his legs very clearly broken. "Th-thank you for coming all the way out here, at such a dangerous time, to help me... This used to be me and the missus' home, but that damnable dragon... Crushed it to bits after we fled to Cenauri. I promised the wife that I'd recover something from our old home, as a memory, but... That didn't happen, clearly. And there's nothing here anyway, except wreckage and-" Karie, Kinnipher, and the old man all hear a deafening sound, practically amking the ground tremor. They look up, and see the source... The silhouette of the massive Vorpalis, cloaked in the black fog, was soaring overhead! His roar was deafening, and he flew at a breakneck place, scattering black fog in his wake... There was no escape from the fog cover out in the open. Soon, darkness descended upon Karie and Jinnipher... QM Note: Expect PMs soon...

Same action and battle order. "They're persistent, I'll give them that..."
