"Jinn, I got 13 gold coins in my pocket. That's about as much as I had coming in, and I've been on 3 quests. My cousin Norma is threatening to kick me out. I somehow like the job, but it ain't very well paying."

"That's, uh, a pretty... blunt, I guess you would call it?... Title."

How did Frey spawn another Bat? Special Damage wasn't rolled, the Wisp was attacking him. -
"Said she didn't need relationships. Clearly she was forgetting one..."
-
"That's mean... She may have fibbed, but she's not a bad person."

I take a Grand Potion this turn, and the Wisp continues to attack Frey. Next turn, the Wisp will attack Frey, and I will attack the bats. Sorrow will switch to Frey (attacking from the back) when the bats die. I will take a Grand Potion if my health ever falls below 25 HP. Battle order for all turns: Wisp Sorrow -
"Does no one get along in here...?" Terry mutters.
-
"Hey, I'm Terry. You?"
-
"Got two more days, but time is weeiiiird in this hall. Two days outside this building, might be two hours in here, or months..."
-
"Is "bash buddies" that ridiculous? Didn't you kill a dinosaur or something? I mean you must be a kinda good time if you aren't dead..."
-
"People put diamonds in their boots? ...Why?" "And what in tha' world is a bash buddy?"
-
I smile and eagerly accept the offer. "Geez, lady, sometimes I swear you're running a charity. Thanks a bunch. Does music and such pay really well or something?"
-
Terry shys away at the emntion of bedfellows. "I... Uh. Didn't take her for... making those kinds of friends... A-atleast she has someone, right? How does 70 gold for the amethyst?"
-
"Well, first step to forgiveness, I guess? I'm guessing she left Moone friendless as well, right?" I shrug back. "Dunno about it."
-
"You gotta cut people some slack sometimes. Some people just get angry when they get scared."
-
"Hey, it was her homeland that the explodey dragon attacked, right? That's tough on anyone."
-
"Hey, I liked 'im. I'm not really one to dislike people, though... Jinnipher was capable in battle, but we kept having this back-n'-forth debate about how relationships are needed, and skept saying she didn't want none and didn't have any. I think she's just lyin' to look tough, but when someone has a blade called "The Beheader", and you happen to have a very fragile neck, you don't press too much."
-
"Yeah, uh, he does. Sometimes I thought I saw it talking, or maybe it was just breathing? I dunno. I didn't question it... I thought a Vampire would be the uniquest one in the group, but no, Ezeran tops him for sure. He's nice though. So are Torald and Kheyli. They do their job well and they're nice people. Moon Elf was a bit of a hothead, but meh..."
-
"That staff you sold me was useful, y'know. So thanks."
-
"They wanted to conquer the fields and such. I... dunno why. Just let animals be animals and bones stay bones."
-
"Uh, fought a dinosaur. Killed it. Brought its bones to some weird lady, and uh she brought it back from the dead. It was pretty decrepit, so me, Jinnipher, Kehyli, Torald, Ezeran, Boris, and this fella named Mac took it down nice and easy. Then we walked back to Eubric carrying the bones. They were.... heavy..." Terry wrings out his arms.

I'm not sure if Mage mentorship would've been appropriate - Terry has no desire to lead, teach, or mentor anybody. He got a small confidence boost this time around, but if anything, 141 convince dhim leadership isn't his thing.

Heroica RPG- Quest #137: Where the Dead Go to Live
Endgame replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Frey should be hitting me, not the Bats, since I targetted them. I grunt as the bats decide to take a bat out of me, attempting to raise a few undead... To no avail. "Raising undead in a necropolis... I'm probably in poor taste here. But I think the townspeople have had more than enough of you." Repeat actions and battle order. -
Terry stands up and joins the table. "Uh, hi. I'm Terry, for those who don't meet me. I just, uh, got back from a quest."
-
Thanks for the quest, Flipz! The sets were really nice, with the Undead Tyrannosaur being one of my favorite builds. Seeing Mac again was a pleasant surprise, and Kiri used what screentime she had well, but I'm not sure what happened to Sakurai. I liked him while he was there, but he kind of just fell off the face of the earth? As for battles, the difficulty curve was out of whack. I enjoyed all the battles, but they went in the wrong order. The undead tyrannosaur, for example, was a breeze. Loot was really cool, albeit a bit excessive at times, but it all tied in very well thematically with the people we were fighting. I feel as if the elemntals and the Mirage Knights, as much as I loved their characters and designs were a bit redundant. They both had the same motivation of protecting sacred grounds. I can't really fault you for this, because I highly suspect they'll be coming back later, but they felt out of place a bit. The puzzle was pretty phenomenal - I really enjoyed solving (or rather, screwing up) solving it. I really liked this party. I hope Terry's interactions with Jinnipher/Boris didn't overshadow the rest of you - i made attempts to reach out to the other folks, but I imagine not all f you post as much as myself/JimBee/WBD. I like Torlad's brutishness, and Ezeran's weird juxtaposition of being a pretty calm, unfazed everyman with a demon maw in his gut, and I liked what I saw of Kheyli, too.
