"Out of curiosity, where should I strike a Metasimian to kill him instantly." I think Perfect Regret was a midge more monstrous then old Rhodus.

"You're gonna have to scat then, noble citizen! Heroes are at work." "All of the money I robbed from papa, of course! Landed the poor bastard into the hovels, heehee! But now we have plent yof money for weapons and drugs! It's great!" "A dealer givin' out for free? Pfft. That practice died years ago! So you must have gotten that from a dealer, right? Tell you what. We have a little bit of an excess lately, and we'll be high on fame soon enough when we solve that wailin' problem. A nice big bag of Seventh Heaven, Double Rainbow, and Pixie Dust - one of each! - to eahc of ya, to get yous off our backs. Deal?"

I take the overzealous man's hand. "Nice to meet you, heckz. Oh, I have a face, but... Well, I prefer if people don't see it."- 327 replies

"...Fair enough. Ther really isn't a good moment, but this certainly is one of the worse ones..." The party walks in silent contemplation the rest of the way, the rain beginning to intensify. Clouds were beginning to cast over the heroes, the sun fading - night was approaching. The party finally reaches the lighthouse, the tall structure not yet lit. It stands solemnly in a cobbled clearing, hanging above the crystal sea below, allowing it to be a beacon to all incoming ships. However, three hooligans near the lighthouse's base demanded more immediate attention. "..." "So what do you think you wannabe heroes are doing hanging around here huh?!" An elven lady screeches. "Sooooo heeeyyyyy. You think you imposters can take the glory from us, huh." A male archer states in a sedated tone. All three were clearly high - none were in their natural state of mind.

They're full of potassium, especially when covered in shrunken heads jimmies sprinkles.

I would disagree. As a hero, it doesn't matter if Haroka coul conquer the world (which he coudln't, really) - We saw the effects of his actions, and that made him a viable threat.

I agree with you partially... For example, 48. In their current states, Rhodus, Aquos, Eidolon, and even The Perfect Regret had no hope of completely exterminating humanity... But they likely could've ravaged a fair chunk of Uland if they hadn't been stopped. They can almost never fulfill their goals entirely, but they can still do a decent amount of damage. My Grand Finale will pretty much be the end of all quests I've started. I may do the occasional one-off or a loose-end tying quest (Such as a "Where are they now??" type of deal), perhaps get that boss-rush thing more developed in the future, but I'll likely focus more on my hero career then my QM career after my finale - any quests I host will be short and sporadic.
-
My finale is taking place on some forgotten island in the North, Eubric is hardly even involved. The stakes will be either a somewhat higher or somewhat lower than 53 on the quest, depending on your outlook.

"But you lied to me, Karie. You could've said you just hand't gotten around to it, I would've shrugged, given you the benefit of the doubt, and moved on. But you lied. I am speaking as friend here, Karie, not as your Admin. The Syndicate doesn't play the authority card... As Masson told you that night, we operate as a sort of family. Rank is only used when strictly neccasary. Now, as a friend: You've been tempted to use that dust the entire time, haven't you?"

My cape billowing behind me, I make my way to the bumbling pair of detective and my fellow heroes. The monk would be problematic - Everyone else was rather foreign. This was going to be a long day, I could tell that much at a moment's glance. My hand still throbbed. Have to sort that out soon, or else... "Sorrow. At your service." It was addressed to everyone; heroes and eccentric wathmen alike.- 327 replies

"And you're holding on to it for what reason...?"

I just feel as if Necromancers have lost their niche, that's all. Crowd control always seemed like their best asset - especially due to the high ether cost. It seems like a pretty heavy hit to the class. Also, the ether cost is fairly prohibitive just to cower behind your army. Maybe I'm just looking into this too much due to wanting to become necromancer.
-
What's stopping a QM from just adding more enemies, however? I'd rather see battles adjusted until a class intentionally nerfed, although being acknowledge as not-OP before the rule change. I think the question only arose twice (On the rat battle with Althior going a ludicrously high Critical (unrelated to current issue) and now. I don't think a class should be nerfed in such a signifigant way when changing the battles is a simpler and more fair solution.

"Huh. Must say, I quite like your philosophy as well. I suppose my life is an odd mesh of both hero and criminal... Yeah, I don't spend too much time pontificating the meaning of life earlier. Maybe knowing what I live by makes whatever's been going on more apparent to you guys, though. Sure doesn't help me, at any rate." "Kaire, I'm not doubting whether or not you quite the habit. I'm doubting whether or not you are possessing it. Two very different things. Now, the honest answer, if you'd be so kind."

"...Body language, remember? We just went over this one. I'm adept at reading it. Even your cat seems suspicious..."
-
I doubt it'll be over before December 1st, unfortunately - that intro and my health complications have made thing slonger than expected. I predict we'll be done by Christmas the absolute latest, however.
-
Octavyn bites his lip. "Ah. Well, um... Sorry. Really, sorry. So that's why you reacted that way when Boomingham... Ennoc, this is one of those days when I look and feel like an inconsiderate fool. ...You disposed of it though, right?"
-
"I lead a loyal group that outnumbers you more than double - you're a trio of money grubbing mercs working for demons! I've prevailed over much stronger foes - I'll crush you sad lot in an instant! Isn't that right, rookies?" The three rookies sound off in order. "Y-Y-Yesshffh, shhfir!" "Erm..." The last amatuer rioter seemed absolutely viscious, slurring his words as a product of either drunkenss or bloodlust; likely both. "Just give me something to tear apart already, boss!" Perhaps the rookies could be convinced to stand down? They wouldn't be the most adroit fighters, but it'd thin out the mob's numbers... ---------------------------------------------------------------- "I've been making weapons and equipment for the Phalanx, but work definitely isn't the same as it used to be. What use would someone need for someone who only knows how to forge weapons, when his people have given up warmongering entirely? Hell, the Phalanx hardly even uses their weapons anyway." There is a hint of disdain in his voice. Whether or not it was directed at the heroes was unknown... "We're here." What will the party do?

"5 minutes or so. Eubric isn't all that huge, surprisingly. Such a small city with so much life crammed into it... No wonder they need the hovels and the hovels wall, eh? I suspect we'll have to tangle with those crackheads. Drugged people are unpredictable people... And if they think they can solve this whole debacle, I suspect they'll be carrying weapons. It's staggering that people consent to that kind of stuff... Do they enjoy causing their brain cells to burst?"
-
"...Yep. Dredging up bad memories. I'll stop." Octavyn holds out a gloved hand, dark splothces appearing on it. he looks up, dark grey clous brewing above them - the soft pitter patter of rain was beginning. "Huh. Starting to drizzle. Lovely."

I strid einto the arena, remvoing my helmet and placing it on a table. With a roll of my shoulders I remove my cape and take off my armor... Underneath was the spindly frame of a skeletal man, wearing nothing but basic clothing. I clutch my bow, cold to the touch and laced in darkness, ready for the impending duel. I, Sorrow (Endgame) challenge Guts Holla (Scubacarrot) to a duel - under the agreed condition of "No Artifacts or Consumables."
-
I perk up not only with my name being announced for the quest, but for Gut's challenge. "How about a test of raw skill, friend? No artifacts, no consumables - just you and your weapon. Of course, that'll apply to me as well... Just a fight to the finish." I'm assuming that this would go fast enough that it would end before long, and/or not cause any major time paradoxes. If anyone objects, no problem - I've just always wanted to pit Sorrow against Guts.

"Fibbing to someone who can read body language is not an easy task." Octavyn quips, chuckling. "But, hey, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt." "Ah, what the hell. We're just making small talk here anyway, and maybe this'll shed some light on what just happened back at my brother's place. My personal philosophy is this: Life is a joke." Octavyn pauses, trying to gauge the hero's reactions. "Pause for dramatic effect: Nailed it. I say that in the most postive way possible - the word joke gets a bad connotation nowadays. Jokes are meant to be enjoyed! They're meant to make you smile, to make you laugh. Some may be a bit darker than others, but that just goes hand in hand with life, right? Just like a joke, life has the build-up, a punchline... Shall I continue with my analogies? Life is an endless series of jokes, really, in my mind. And jokes are meant to make you feel good, help lift the mood when everything else is pretty grim. And that is where the ultimate gag of reality lies: One day, you will experience tragedy. Likely several, but some more then others. And yet... The sun rises and sets. The stars come out at night. The world goes on. The biggest joke of reality is that it simply doesn't end. Some people find it sick. But I find it quite beautiful."

"...Sorry, Karie, did I dredge up bad memories? I've never really told you folks my personal philosophy, have I, huh?"
