  1. "Have you maintained contact with the other merchants about this entire ordeal?"
  2. Octavyn accepts thesack into his gloved hand - and promptly tosses it straight up into the air, and slices the bag wide open mid-fall. The ocean breeze and progressing storm swept away the bright green powder, green sparkles of the lethal substance still visible as the wind swept them into the ocean. Rain continues to pur as Karie watches the drug swirl away into the horizon. "There! Easy, right? Here's something I learned only about a year back: Rely on people. Not things. Once upon a time I was starting to run low on people to fall back on, and I started hitting the bottle. Before I know it, bam, hammered and extra crispy in some alley. You're in a better situation now then when you got that green stuff, aren't you? You have people now. So, problem solved, I hope." Octavyn turns away, back to the junkies, but it seemed like he was still waiitng for a response.
  3. "I'm not some cliched megalomaniac, you bilge rat. No tales of vengeance, no faulty childhood... I will simply not allow those filth under this city. Can this place not atleast hold some dignity? Or must we suffer disgusting, shelled maniacs beneath our fair Eubric, as well? No one should tolerate their presence!"
  4. "The old, money grubbing coot seems to be doing a half-decent job." "Hey, who are you calling a-" Jetorix cuts off the "coot". "Get back in line, old man. And don't question me again." Opoly silences himself, knowing what happened to the orcish rioter.
  5. Why not just revive the archdemons as "shades" (or "doppelgngers", or "Shadow of the Collosus Archdemon, etc.) instead of tweaking one fot eh seven major expert classes? Seems like an easier fix.
  6. Walloftextmancer is a more appropriate term.
  7. "Ah, if Gnomeo is where the rest of you want to go, fine by me." "I assumed the wearer has the effects bestowed upon him, and I doubt that that wig could cover such a hat..."
  8. "It's not like those ancient bones of yours can actually dent me or the woman. Why don't you give those scissors to someone who can actually fight, old man?"
  9. I really hope you get well soon, Danny: I hope you have a good recovery! Thus is why combining logic with game mechanics usually leads downhill: People start questioning how things actually work in this bizarre, fantasy environment. Also, Sandy, is 87 all just an allegory for heroes going too far to min-max their character builds?
  10. QM Note: You're correct, WBD: Since the enemies are completely dehabilitated, I've forgotten to take off the indicator. Skrall ends the Masked Guy with a tremendous arrow, piercing straight through his armor. the druggies crumples like a napkin, falling to the ground. Karie and Octavyn team up on the high elf, weakening her. However, Baradock's wish is fulfilled. With a firm hack of his club, he finally knocks the junkie out cold. "Good job, folks. He pats them down throroughly and ensures he finds all of it, holding almost a dozen bags of the hallucinogens in his hands. One by one he punctures the bags of drugs and scatters them to the wind, blowing them away from all of the heroes and enemies alike. The three junkies come to their senses as they see Octavyn disposing of their precious product. Too weak to stand up, but well enough to whine. "NO! Come ooon, maaaaan, why'd you have to go and do that?!" "I'm not going to allow you to run amuck with that stuff." Octavyn turns to Karie. "Now, do you want me to dispose of your little stash of dust as well?" The High High Elf claws over to Baradock and Skrall. "Please, please help us! That bad golden man is taking all of our precious stuff! We had such a perfect plan... why'd you have to go and trounce us?!"

The walls are coated with soot, some rocks noticeably loose. Yellow tape blocks off the party's passage, but they slash through it, ignoring it nearly entirely. They forge into a gargantuan cavern, finding... An apartment building? The Deeps Construction Project was meant to solve the overcrwoding and homeless issue plaguing the city: was this Solon's solution? Other foundations were scattered about the massive cavern, either horrendously unfinished, crushed with large black rocks, or both. -The red cone represents the party. -The slanted black rocks are sloped, meaning you can ascend them to get to other floors of the building. -The large block rocks with four studs on top cannot be climbed. They will block your passage. -Open doors can be entered. How will the party begin exploring the building?
  12. That seems to be the stem of the problem, really. Don't be afraid to make challenging enemies, Sandy!
  13. "Elphaba sounds like as good of an option as any..." I begin to mull over the events of this investigation. "Thus far... We know of three important items stolen: a shield, a warhammer, and a hat. The shield and hammer seemed like quite potent weapons: it seems like someone is attempting to build an arsenal. it'd also explain why Heroica shops are being targetted: Only they have the wares they'd need to create such an ensemble... But I'm having a hard time figuring out the reason for snatching the Buffoon's Hat. Perhaps they intend to use it on someone else?"
  14. QM Note: I apologize for the delay, everyone. I've had family over this weekend, and haven't really gotten an opportunity to prepare for the next post here - it'll be fairly lengthy. I'll try to get the next round of the riot/the bulk of the Deeps up ASAP, folks!
  15. Dangit, I found the shredder helmet and ninja mask before I read this post. I thought I saw something the rest of you didn't. "That odd, gnarled, shredded helmet seems to me missing it's ensemble, same with the ninja cowl. Watsap, is there any specific reason why this picture is not a before and after?"

  17. One of the problems with that is enemy encounters usually contain only one to two different types, for the most part. If you're in a quest about dismantling automatons, a necromancer is nigh worthless. It's the same reason that I wasn't a fan of the "Humanoid Mugging" clause: It pretty much rips a class's innate abilities right out of their hands in certain battles. What if Hunters could only favor beasts, for example? That, and two consecutive nerfs to a class you acknowledged as not very OP is pretty overkill.
  18. The only time undead army gets a little bit wonky is when you have a multi-segmented creature. Level 100 Undead Superboss Pinky That being said, I'm not fully opposed to "This Enemy Cannot Be Summoned As An Undead", but I'd imagine it'd be less common than "Immune To Assassination". (I imagine there is a large gap between being able to instantly slaughter an enemy and being able to revive them as a lemming.)
  19. Hey, wait a second, you revived that unicorn back in 15! Since when have shields abided by any sort of logic? I fail to see the reason behind consecutively nerfing a class you acknowledged as really not that OP. I was in a similar scenario once - I gave a boss monster a special that reduced the hero to 1 HP. I also had a witch in the party. Yeaaaaaah. My original solution was to simply dictate it as a critical hit in that case, but that caused a (completely justified) stir. I ended up rewording the special - but looking back, I should've let the party simply nuke it with the special mirror should the situation arise. Sometimes QMs just gotta roll with the punches.
