"Wait a second. These a re demon remains? Just not more of that black vial we saw earlier?" It was becoming clear to Octavyn that he was almost out of his element. Almost, but not quite. "If these are the experimentors remains, then, we can only presume one thing: Doppel got free. And if he isn't in this lab, he could be absolutely anywher ein Eubric... A deranged killing machine on the loose." Karie pokes around the black puddles of goo, determining they were quite dead.
-
Straightneing his posture, his hand drifting to his sheathed corseque, Octavyn follows Bradock and Skrall forward. "One step closer to the final confrontation, it seems." The party steps through the door, but instead of encountering the haywire Doppel, they find something else entirely... Black ink, splattered across the wall - being an almost perfect match to the vial of black plasm. Odd, dimly glowing eyes float in the puddles of black goo... These were remains of some sort of creature. Karie can recall vividly this horrid substance, being the smae thing that stained her when she stabbed the Oculoids to death.
-
Keep in mind that it isn't neccasarily a split personality yet; "Conversation" with yourself is pretty common just normally. Talking to yourself is a fairly standard nowdays. Also, we're nothing more then a consensus of neurons percieving the world through chemical reactions inside our brain, we you could argue with have millions of split personalities.

Hey, Sorrow has kind of sort of lost his!
-
"You look conflicted there, Baradock." "The world is full of surprises, it seems. What human was beind the ploy you helped foil?"
-
"Oh, the whole works, eh? Mid to late afternoon right now, currently - I'm guessing we'll have this wrapped up by sunset. I won't ruin the evening for you two... Although dragging you three into this whole demon debacle probably makes for a pretty bad day, huh? I'll tell the bossman when he clocks in for work tomorrow. Huh, never noticed your face could turn that red. Must've been the white make-up.
-
"Something tells me whoever is pulling the strings is anything but human. Demons would never accept a human as their Master..." "Any reason why, exactly?"
-
Octavyn skims the documents. Even below the black mesh of his mask, the party could see his eyes widening, than narrowing into slits with every passing sentence. His shoulders begin to sag, as if defeated. He addresses the party, not averting his gaze from the documents. "So. Quick briefing. The Harvester was the weapon that Masson - head of the Syndicate and that purple gent - built and used. Karie convinced him to smash it. In the right hands, it is nonlethal, doesn't require mcuh physcial contact, and can disable hearing, taste, sight, sound, touch, and common sense for breif periods of time. In the wrong hands, it could bisect and blind someone at the same time. Masson was the right hands, but even he saw how sinister the damn thing was, and crushed it. Apparently, whatever freakshow is pulling the strings behind this place took a little walk around Masson's head and copied down the schematics. Now, whoever the "Master" beind this plot is, the guy clearly has resources: In all likelihood, he will be making several dozen, if not hundreds of Harvesters, if given the time. On the postive time, they'll still have to tweak the design; A nonethal weapon isn't all that useful to a group that clearly has intent to kill. ...I'm debating on whethe ror not to tell Masson about this one."
-
Octavyn had not yet gotten to read the documents. "...Something you read, Karie?" Kair elooks at the boxes: Each marked with an emotion, seemingly going with the potions from earlier. They were marked Curiosity, Confusion, Sadness, and Happiness: all of them empty. It was likely they wer eused to tiwst Doppel's emotions into something they could use against humans: mold him into a ruthless killing machine.

QM Note: I apologize for the delay: the next week should be nothing but smooth sailing. Karie, still getting over her episode in the ahallway, reads both documents: Karie, horrified, move son to the next document... Baradock goes over to the black vial, carefully inspecting its contents. Black plasm swirls inside of the clear glass, small sparks of color dancing in the darkness... But Baradock can't get a true read on what it really was. Skrall inspects the tools in the corner: Both of them surgical equipment. It seemed this place was ill armed, in terms of actual weaponry... The axe looked like it was made for incisions, while the sceptre for magically reattaching severed limbs.

The party skulks through the doorway, forging deeper into the nightmarish experimentation complex. This room seemed even more twisted then the last: A plinth made out of hard rock, presumably for the patient, sits in the middle. Behind it sits a table, two documents haphazardly strewn out atop it. Rope can be seen underneath the operating table, likely to tie down the subject. Various syringes and a bottle of black plasm sits to the tables right, along with a variety of sealed boxes. Some other tools sit near the doorway as well. Bits and pieces of skeletons, likely the poor souls who were killed by the experimentation, where simply swept into the corner. The room was musty, the scent of blood in the air. Mold seemed to gather in the corners, the cieling dripping in some place. Poorly lit, only a green torch kept the room visisble. Without it, it would plunge into darkness for sure.

I take no notice of the monk's discerning stare. "It would explain how he knows how to train Beast Warriors... He's with them, so he would probably pick up the skill - or perhaps even taught the Wolfgang some of their tricks. Unbelievable.."- 327 replies

Okay, that one quest photo puts this in a far, far more sinister light. Coppper Fox, you bastard! I'm hoping we get to confront him soonish, at least. Sorrow isn't really someone to just see stuff like that and stay silent.

I bite my lip, concealing a tranquil fury. Copper Fox... Of all the veterans, he was the one who taught us almost everything we know about our job classes. Could he possibly be allied with scum like the wolfgang? "I was told by Violetta and Donny that they had a veteran in their rank and file... It seems we have a winner. That is the most suspicious thing of all."- 327 replies

The books seemed to consist mostly of technical jargon... Some sentences seemed comprehensible, others not, intricate and foreign words making the meaning of the book unknown to Baradock. He simply couldn't understand it. However, a sheet of papyrus tucked in one of the books slips out... Octavyn gives a chuckle, forced through a noticeable anxiety. Octavyn clearly didn't like it here. "Hey, if you didn't use it, then I'm even more impressed about what you did to him! Just a little pyschology trick, that's all... Thought I'd cheer you up by remdining you of him. Worked atleast, huh?" The ominous green flame crackles from a smooth stone firepit. An odd incense sits at the base of the flame, covered in smoldering embers - touching it would likely be a poor idea. That is what seemed to give the flame its color, though. It did not seem to possess any mystical properties; especially not properties that could ever even match an iota of the Lifespark's power.
