  1. Doesn't anyone have an astromech army? There is an R2 in almost every freakin set! Would be cool if someone would post his/hers. Anyway, I would like to post my army, but I'm on vacation right now. Besides, I will probably incoorporate all of my Phase 2 clones, BDs, SBDs, etc. in my bignette entry for the CW contest anyway! And my Imperial/Rebel armies are puny! Nothing to post there. Army Building ON!
  2. I will buy the RGS & AT-TE as soon as I can get my fingers on them! They are just awesome sets with awesome figs and two of the most essential vehicles of the Grand Army of the Republic! Then, I will try to save money for a little while. After Life Day , I should have enough again to by the HSD & Fighter Tank. At some point, I will definately get a General Grievous as well (because Double G rulez! )! I hope he will go on sale some day. I also like the Torrent & Magna Fighter, but I'm kind of unwilling to pay so much money for them! I really want those Magna Guards to stand beside my Grievous fig and it would be good if I had a clone pilot to fly my RGS! Plus: The wing-folding mechanism of the Torrent is sooo neat! Then again, I'm almost sure we will get a Phase 1 Clone BP some day, and perhaps there will be a pilot in there... idk. I also unsure about the Droid Gunship. I might get it if it's cheap (which it probably wont ) and if I see a positive review about it. I'm not gonna get the Twilight (for obvious reasons ) and not the Death Star. It's a wonderful set but I'm not a big OT fan and it's way out of my price range!
  3. Hell yeah!!! Other than that I would like to see a new Trade Federation AAT to add to my droid army and as many new Jedi and clone variations as possible! BPs On! ARC Troopers (with different colors and badass weapons ) and clone commanders (dark red snowtroopers) as well as Shaak Ti, Ki Adi Mundi, and an improved Mace Windu would be most welcome! So, I'm really, really hoping that we will get Palpatines Arrest! PT 4 09 ON!
  4. Yes! It's very nice! But you have way too much overhang! Also, why is the blaster bolt green when it is deflected? It should be the same color.
  5. I agree as well! The HSD really looks like a larger, $20 BP like the hailfire set - only that this time we'll get two Phase 1 clones with it, including that Commander Fox with his cool red markings! I also like how the spherical cockpit of the HSD is brick-buit. I hope that you can place a droid or two in it, but if not, that's fine too, since that should be an easy mod. For that purpose, it would have been better if there was a droid pilot instead of a commander in the set, but oh well. I think I'll definately get one of those eventually. The tank looks really nice too, but a bit expensive! I hope it's not more than 30 bucks. Somehow I don't like the fact that the top turret doesn't seem to rotate like in SW Battlefront II. Also, there don't seem to be any desirable figs in this set, like a special commander or random Jedi. How great would it have been to get a Ki-Adi Mundi with this! Oh well... Overall, I love all of the CW sets (except the Twilight ) and I hope to own them all at some point (except the Twilight )! CW On!
  6. Actually, it's been done already! Click here to see where. The Spear of Destiny too btw, Mescheper. But since these are comics and not movies, I guess it's OK to say that these are original movie ideas! This gave me an idea, btw. If you guys are OK with it, I will go with either the Fountain of Youth or the philosopher's stone! The Fountain promisses a great MOC. The stone promisses a more original story. I can't make up my mind! What do you think I should go for?
  7. Darn! I have that torso, but I'm using it for Jim's fig! I guess I'll be using a tan mechanic torso. I also don't have the Anime Skywalker hair piece (yet ), so I'll be using Mutt's all the way probably. Oh, and welcome to the game, Skipper!
  8. Alright, here you go, brickbreaker : The Star Wars Comic Game: Chapter 1 - An Overview In a deserted industrial section of Coruscant, Commander Jim Butcher was on a mission to assassinate a drug dealer, when suddenly an armed hover transport popped up and opened fire on him and his men. Fortunately, Palin Jax, the head of the shadow division, was near to come to his aid. But to their surprise, the drug dealers were supported by Droidekas and Battle Droids in their fight. In the meanwhile, the buyer from the drug deal made his escape. Jim decided to pursue him while Palin left for a mysterious personal mission, and as Jim was following the drug lord, he ran into two civilians, trader Moda Annix and engineer Oky Wan Kenobi. They joined forces to fight their way out of the battle and meet yet another ally: Lt. Col. Thok, the leader of the Shock Troopers. Together, they tracked the drug lord's ship to the planet of Utapau. On the way, Oky Wan had to deploy from the team due to a technical failure on his ship. He performed an emergency landing in a Republic Cruiser where he met the grenade-loving Lieutnant MacK, who just came back from a mission to rescue prisoners from the latest freighter overtaken by the CIS. One of these prisoners turned out to be a drug dealer with an important information to give. So, they questioned him and found out that the Seperatists are building a secret weapon, a time machine to be exact, and are planning to use it to prevent the clone army to ever fall into the hands of the Republic so that they can take over the galaxy with ease. In order to find out more, Oky Wan and MacK are sent to the Utapau System to join Jim and the others in their quest for the rogue drug lord. Little do they know that their friends are fighting against a swarm of Vulture Droids which appeared once they had entered the atmosphere of Utapau. Thok's ship was hit and he had to make an emergency landing. He has now wandered off with only a handful of his men while the others are looking for him and the drug lord. And in the midst of it all, a happless Easy 501 is fighting his own battle against the CIS on the ice planet of Hoth...
  9. Pretty much! Nice bignettes btw, TDF & Numbuh 23! What are those triangles in the ground supposed to be, 23, rocks? You might want to try to make them look a little more 3-dimensional. Also, it would be very nice if you would get the RGS once it comes out, and switch the heads of Plo Koon and the scout trooper with the new ones! (although the ones you used work pretty well ) Is the Scout Trooper a reference to Indy Month? CW Contest ON!
  10. Usually, the rules of an EB contest state that using old MOCs is fine as long as they haven't been published before, but seeing as this one doesn't have such a rule, it's a question of choice. If you use old designs, people are gonna recognize them and file your entry under 'unoriginal'. So, if you want to win, it would be best to design something new. On the other hand, if you haven't published those MOCs before (or haven't even finished building them), or change them by moding (improving) and/or recoloring them, it should be fine! In that case, it would be good, though, if you wouldn't mention that it's an old idea! Basically: If it's not in the rules, it's not against them! It's just up to you to decide if it will make your entry superior to the others! I hope that helped. But for the next time, I give you a hint: admins don't like it when you are too persistent with questions! Believe me, I've been through that!
  11. Nice story & nice MOCs. But you should make up your mind about which one to enter.
  12. I'm sorry, but will this involve Indy at some point? Cause I really don't see why else this topic should be in the Licensed forum. Other than that, it sounds interesting.
  13. Actually, the Ark is a very good idea. It's true that the first and third movie revolve around objects from the bible, and some of the other entries here do too (Staff of Moses, Spear of Destiny, Throne of Christ, etc.), so I was thinking about doing something with Noah's Ark as well, but since I'm on vacation and don't have access to lego for a while , you beat me to it. Now, with pretty much all the Christian items taken, I will have to think of something else. Perhaps an item from a different religion, or a mythological object or place. I'm playing with thoughts like "IJ & the Power of Midas" or "IJ & the Fountain of Youth" right now. I really like the idea of building a fancy fountain and a nice temple-like location for it, but it's power (and therefore the story) is too similar to that of "the Last Crusade". Well, we will see... Btw, Big T, if you still want to build the Ark renovation scene without taking your Sail Barge apart, I would suggest using something like the ship wreck from that one Aquaraiders set or MOCing something similar! If you don't have that set, you can still get it; I think the Aquaraiders are on sale somewhere. IMO, your current entry is a little too simple for being so large. Sorry! Everyone else: Good job! Some nice movie premises and MOCs out there! Keep it up!
  14. Hm... I don't think I have any of these, but I'll see what I can do. Btw, who is "Sweaper"?
  15. Yes. Click here for a tutorial. If it was before Geonosis, it's not during the CW, and doesn't this disqualify this vig from a contest where you have to build something from the CW? However, if it is somehow linked with something from the CW, it should be OK, I guess. I'm looking forward to your bignette (which will feature something about Project 13 from during the CW, right? ) and the upcoming pics that are supposed to tell the story of your vig!
  16. trooperdavinfelth: Your entry is very nice but I don't understand one thing: What the heck is Jango doing in the CW era? The CW started after he died. Or is this some kind of special clone of him or something? Some explanation please? Rook: Sweet! Go R2! Burn, SBD, burn! Iceman03: Both sound interesting. I wonder who gets shot on Kashyyk. Interesting idea. Maybe you should include a wouwie13 sigfig somewhere in this bignette! (You know, because of this. ) About your pics: Doesn't deeplinking work?
  17. Thanks right back at'cha! We'll see - I will only have 2 days to build one after I fet back from vacation. I'm trying to decide on a plot so that I can at least try to plan something out. I think I already know what I'm gonna do. I'm not gonna say it, though, so that it stays a surprise! I'm also facing the problem that I don't have much grey and tan at the moment (the most important Indy colors) but, again, we will see... You bastard! Oh well.
  18. OMFG!!! This is... this is... DEATHSTARTASTIC!!! It looks so much like a MOC that I initially thought it's fake, but apparently it's not! I am not a big fan of the OT, but this is definately the best (licensed) Lego set EVER! It has everything one could wish for in a set titled "Death Star Playset": All the scenes (It even has a torture room! ), all the minifigs (even IG-88, torture droid, black C-3PO, both stormie & non-stormie versions of Han & Luke, Ep 6 Luke; plus Chewie finally has a bowcaster and R2 finally has a silver dome!), all the details, and an apparently sturdy build. That minimized TIE advanced is pretty cute too. Unfortunately, I'll never be able to afford this piece of beauty but, who knows, maybe if I'll be really, really nice for the rest of the year, Santa will make my wish come true! Thanks heaps for the pics, Svelte Corps! Can't wait for better ones! I bet anybody who spent money on a holow UCS Death Star II is feeling pretty stupid right about now! Keep it up, TLG!!!
  19. Vignette: Cute. Simple, but effective. If you are looking for a way to raise the brick count and make it look more interesting, may I suggest a brick-build tree to put in the corner behind the two wookiees? Bignette: Very nice! It's like a Best-Of of the Geonosis Arena Battle! I like how much is going on in one scene; it makes you pay attention to the details! However here are some suggestions for improvement: 1. The Balcony feels kind of incomplete. So how about adding some tiles and/or other smooth bricks and creating a bow for the SBDs to come through? 2. If you want more Phase 1 clones and a better commander, you can wait until July 26th and get the new CW sets to add them to your bignette! 3. The Geonosian with the burning buns is missing his wings! (Or have they been shot or burned off? ) Overal good Job though. Commandosevy: I'm sorry, but could you take/post some larger pics? I can't see anything on those thumbnails!
  20. Crap! Batbrick entered his Mega Mayan Moc! And it looks even more fantastic with Indy and all those soldiers in and around it! Why, oh, why did you have to let him get through with this, Sinner?! Oh well. Very, very good job, Batbrick! On the story, too. Let's just hope that an average MOCer like me still has a chance to win this contest! Optimism ON!
  21. Ooooooooohh! Shiiinyyyy! Again: very nice job! You seem to have a lot of fun with them Lifelites! I might get some myself someday. Could you please answer dragonators questions for me too? Also, where do you always hide the battery box & cables, etc.? I know, a magician never reveals his tricks , but still... Don't look at these pics for too long, guys, or else you might get mad!
  22. Kinda neat, but it doesn't have the certain Staff-of-Ra-scene feel to it without the white turna. For some reason, I've been dying to see an accurate Staff-of-Ra Indy fig like that. How about giving him a white skarf thingy lke the cavalry from the WW sets had to make it at least look like he took the turna (or whatever you call it) off? The "Special FX" are funny though! Seeing a more accurate Staff-of-Ra Indy in future On!
  23. Thanks! And no, it's not a blank head! It's a Sam Wesel head representing K'Kruhk. You can see it in the new pics I added. Click here to see the fig. I thought about that padawan too, but he is dead already in this scene! As for the other Jedi, it's supposed to be this guy: So, you're probably right in saying that he should look more original. I thought about using a tan cone on his head, with a black string sticking out at the top for the hair, but it looked kinda wierd and too similar to Ki-Adi's head. So I went with the generic Jedi hood. Perhaps I'll edit it once I get back from vacation. You are also right about Grievous hanging kinda low, but I wanted the wreck construction to be as round as possible, and I couldn't make it any larger because of the hang-over rule. Besides, I think it looks fine. And yes, a "Battle of Hypori" bignette would be pretty neat! If you wanna make one, go for it! Yes, it is, but it has a 1 stud overhang on each side. You can click the link to my Flickr photostream I added to my entry to get a better view of it. Do you need me to post a pic of the side to prove that the back hangs over only 1 stud as well? OOOOOOH! I see! Whew! And I thought I wouldn't make it! I thought the whole thime that it said June! I guess that eye surgery last month was no good after all. And you are right: This does mean that we can still incoorporate the new Clone Wars sets! Idk about Shaak, though. From Ahsoka, you could only use the hair (or horn) piece. Shaak's head would have to be a custom. Is there a Shaak Ti head decal somewhere? Can someone provide a link please? If there is, I might consider following your advice, Jim. It would probably raise the number of votes!
  24. Sweet! The entry thread is open! I submitted my vignette entry! It portrays the badass first appearance of General Grievous from Star Wars: Clone Wars, Chapter 20! What do you think? I will return from vacation at June 28th and will try to add a bignette entry in the remaining 2 days.
  25. My Vignette Entry: The Droid General Revealed This vignette is based off a scene from Star Wars: Clone Wars, Chapter 20. General Grievous reveals himself to Ki-Adi-Mundi and some other Jedi (K'Kruhk & Tarr Seirr in this vignette) at the end of the Battle of Hypori.. He ambushes them in the wreckage of a crashed Republic assault ship after saying these words: As the Jedi slowly back up, they don't realize that the Droid General is right behind them... You can find more pics here: My Flickr Photostream
