    My only beef with the PAB site is that their colors aren't really all that obvious. Like I never really know if I'm looking at black, DBG or pearl dark gray for example. Are those numbers underneath supposed to indicate color?

    I'm surprised they haven't just done a nostalgia CMF. 12 minifigures representing major themes/subthemes over the last 40 years...space, castle, pirate, adventurer, rock raiders, wild west etc etc. Seems like that would be the ultimate 90th anniversary release so I'm kind of surprised they didn't do that. Instead we get a costume line...ugh.

    Thats actually makes me think, bricks_fan_uy on instagram posted a really nice small boat that would be perfect for forestpeople to use for smuggling into the castle if the water is made a bit bigger. I’m gonna aim for that I think.

    Thats exactly my inspiration, I never got the drawbridge as a kid so maybe some kind of unfulfilled desire here ^^ End of the day I think its the lack of balance/symmetry that I don’t like. Its the same reason I display the castle with the armoury open but house wing closed. My latest inspiration is to make it more of a bridge and then the castle will be on a rocky island, similar to some of the castles in that video on the previous page. So many ideas!

    I think he means we can just cut through them because they’re not old stone lol. I’m lucky to have a dedicated Lego room so I have a table set up thats two 48x48 baseplates deep. Tons of room for a big ol ramp!

    I really hate that ramp so just did some prototyping on an improved version. I won't be able to finish it anytime soon because life, but I I like the potential. Any tips? I'm trying to stick to the castles lines i.e. arches and straight corners. Right now it feels too big for the castle but once I add a keep behind the gatehouse I think it'll balance out a lot better. I might also try to add a bit more space in between the ramp and the drawbridge too just to put some breathing room between the torch pedestals and the castle rocks. Or maybe just make the pedestals 2x2 instead of 3x3 so they're not so massive. Lots to play around with yet...also need double VIP to get another castle for more of those rounded tile topper things.

    Worth every penny! Those deer aren't cheap so four in one set is a great deal. I took two and have the other two sealed in case I ever get motivated enough to sell them.

    I'm pretty sure we're reading too much into the sell out/limits. Sanctum is also not sold out and has a limit of 3 sets per. Pretty sure the 1 limit was just for the first couple weeks to make sure everyone who wanted one could get one. Now its on "normal" selling terms. Also with the price increases I think everything Lego will have taken a step back in sales. End of the day I'm not reading anything into how hard it is to buy the castle right now. Don't forget the blacksmith is on backorder and the 3/1 castle only just got back in stock, and I'm pretty sure most of us here already had multiples of that - seems like the new castle might have drove a lot of sales on those sets too.

    I'm convinced the designers are aware of this, but they (1) ran out of budget and (2) had to sell it at a somewhat marketable size. Regarding 1, the BAM wizard feels like a tongue-in-cheek way to provide a wizard without using the castles design budget, hence the plain Majisto; and the ramp seems like such an afterthought that I think they chose as few pieces as possible and deliberately made it super simple to remove and build your own. And regarding 2, if you open the armory wing up it'll be very easy to add an entire second castle's worth of pieces to the backside. This whole set seems ripe for expanding/modding and that can't be a coincidence. I can already tell I'll be buying a second set just to build a proper drawbridge/gatehouse. Unlike a lot of sets this one is almost entirely basic pieces that can be used to expand on the original. Just need a good GWP or double VIP day, for now I'll just enjoy it as it is.

    Don't buy sets just to fill out a piece collection for MOC's, its magnitudes cheaper to buy pieces you know you'll actually use on Bricklink/PAB. Its tempting to buy multiples of a set just to get more minifigs or whatever, but again...Bricklink is your wallets friend. Learn how to use Rebrickable/Studio/Bricklink to order needed pieces efficiently (import model from Rebrickable into Studio, upload to Bricklink want list and order that way is how I do it).

    I'm on bag 11, really enjoying this build! Its so much sturdier than a lot of the more affordable builds (I'm looking at you Harry Potter), and it makes such good use of mostly very basic pieces.

    ^^ Thats the most confusing part. Castle/fantasy is having a bit of a golden age these last ten years (Game of Thrones, Vikings, new LOTR, House of the Dragon, Wheel of Time, DnD going mainstream, I’m sure there’s more) so clearly theres a big market for that genre. In any case Fedex finally picked up my package, castle should be here Thursday! Which is odd, I ordered the Viking ship on Aug 1 yet it hasn’t been picked up. Somehow the castle shipment jumped the queue and I’m ok with that.

    Since its so hard to get a full theme, how about just a Nostalgia line where every year they release a couple throwback sets at varying price points...castle, space, pirate, wild west etc. Forest Hideout GWP would be a perfect example of what they could offer.

    Nope, mines been labeled “Label Created” since Thursday. The Viking shop ordered on the first has the same label, since Tuesday. Thats been my experience with Lego all year though. Seems it takes a week for Fedex to actually pick up the orders so I’ve just accepted it. If its not here by Friday I’ll be miffed.

    Also worth mentioning there's the "small" great sword, which is a nice in-between. Personally I only give the short swords to peasant types, the rounded end just doesn't look right IMO. Even when I was a kid I took a knife and turned the round ends into points, looked terrible lol. Short sword In between sword Great sword

    I can say with absolute certainty that its possible to add sets to cart and checkout so that your order is confirmed, and then have it be cancelled after the fact for exceeding your limit when including prior orders. I believe if your order status changes to "At the Warehouse" then you're good.

    Quite a while I think. I bought my limit of 3/1 castles in Jan(?) this year and when I tried to buy more in June for the forest GWP they cancelled my orders. In store doesn't care about limits though.

    This is great, looks like it would scale great with the MMV. I've always wondered, would a guarded inn really be a thing though? I mean what inn keeper could afford to hire guards and build a mini castle?

    Sounds like you need a dedicated Lego room lol I'll probably end up with 3-4. Need to dig into the pieces more but seems like it's got a good assortment for castle MOC's, plus all the figures/accessories/etc. Also gotta pump up those castle sales stats! I'm still holding out hope they release a Wolfpack GWP or something else, but given the Forest hideout ran twice I doubt they're giving us any more fan service this year.
