  1. Slave I - 20th Anniversary Edition (75243) Added it to my growing collection: Jango Fett's Slave I (7153) Slave I - 3rd Edition (8097) Boba Fett's Starship (75312) Boba Fett's Starship Microfighter (75344) At least one advent calendar's Slave I Next will either be the 2nd edition or possibly the UCS (saving up).
  2. It's probably less shocking to basically see one's own self running in the buff.
  3. Very nice! I've been working on some mods for mine, too. Completely agree that the back wastes a lot of space. I like your bridge mod, and I also saw someone mod the large triangular areas next to it to be openable. The combination of both could give a huge increase. Edit: Forgot to say that your other mods are big improvements, too.
  4. Yeah, that's tough. With Lego, there are two versions of accuracy: 1) Figuring out how to work with bricks at small, often not-quite-right scale to make it look "close enough" to the real things. 2) Go very large to the point where the available parts can better replicate smaller, more intricate details. Clearly, you've gone for the latter, and the results are breathtaking. I enjoy both, but time/funds dictate that I have to stick to the former. It's still rewarding for me, but you have to accept that it will never be totally correct.
  5. I'd say that you edged out a spot by a nose.
  6. When you purchase @Jerac's package, it comes with part lists and instructions for four schemes. This is basically (~98%) the "white" one with the 9 tan tiles (3 each of 1x2, 2x2 and 2x4) from the "dirty" (gray) one swapped in in the same places. Plus, @l0renZo added some tan inverted 2 x 2's (inside of wings) and about 9 pieces (mostly tiles - 2x3, 2x2 and 1x2 visible, but at least one 4x2 wedge plate) in light bluish gray swapped for white here and there. Edit: Also, some of the red "1 x" tiles and plates on the main stripe are changed to white like on the dirty one (well, those were changed to light bluish gray), too.
  7. Thanks! I'm hoping to get the pieces soon. I also picked up an extra Brickmania MH-60T Jayhawk sticker sheet, just in case I find a fit.
  8. I'm a bit late to the 42113 game. Giving this thread a bump for both my own ideas and so we don't lose track of the awesome mods contained herein. When I saw mention of the kit recently, but couldn't find it on Bricklink, I searched for it on Google/Youtube. Lots of videos/pages came up, but I somehow missed that it was two years ago. Thinking it a recently cancelled kit, I started thinking about how to make it work without buying one. I've always loved USCG boats/cutters/aircraft and loved the idea of a USCG V-22 (though, I understand why they don't have them.) Finding that curved plates #50 and #51 came in red (would have preferred white, but good enough), I started modifying the original parts list, using the instructions to figure out which parts to recolor. Was nearly ready to order when I found this thread. It gave me the Studio files to work from, which I quickly updated to my idea (plus a few small mods.) Hat nod to @efferman for his version. Ours are different enough, though, to consider the distinct ideas. Mine is a mix of the MH-60T Jayhawk colors and those of the larger USCG fixed-wing aircraft (e.g., HC-130J), which seemed fitting given the V-22's unique design. I added a nose radar similar to those found on the MH-60T and the USAF CV-22 Osprey (combat search & rescue), as well as a few minor tweaks to improve a couple of areas. Once I can procure the parts, I'll put it together.
  9. Great job! I really appreciate the extra effort on all of the action photos.
  10. I actually misjudged earlier. He is huge!
  11. Holy cow, that's so detailed! I thought it was huge, but then I realized it's actually not. Great job!
  12. I'm reasonably confident that the minifigs, alone, will be worth more than that in a couple of years.
  13. It's down to $12,999 now, which as a %, is really a big drop.
  14. Thanks to @MaximillianRebo and @Jody Meyer, the images have been fully updated with the actual Rebel Trooper uniforms/helmets.
  15. Thanks. I don't have Photoshop (been a long time since I've used it, sadly.) Can its files be used in Studio PartDesigner? I haven't had a chance to play with that yet, so I don't know what it will work with.
  16. Thanks! It gave me a "cannot be downloaded securely" error, but I was able to rename what I did download to an .lxf file. The helmets downloaded, but won't snap onto the heads in my scene. I manually adjusted one and then copy/pasted the head/helmet/visor combo. Should work well enough for remaking the prints. Edite: Photos updated.
  17. I've always liked seeing people's Tantive IV hallway MOCs and wanted to do one of my own some time. The one thing that always bothered me was minifig's lack of ability to crouch as the characters do in the scene: So that was my first step. Came up with one version for the two with one knee down and second version for the one crouching but with both knees up. Each character is attached to a 1x1 plate in the floor. Then, I used this photo as a reference for building the hallway: Built the whole thing only to realize, while rendering, that the top arches in Lego have recesses in them. Had to completely rebuild the top (basically, flipped direction in the middle, so the top is upside down.) Obviously, I don't have the rebel vests or helmets in Studio, so I used the closest that I could find. Hopefully, I can build this for real, so that I can use the right parts and update my photos. (Note: if the tile on the back is a problem with the 12 x 12 rule, I can shorten the floor by one or two studs. Fixed it.)
  18. Thanks! That really means a lot. Standing on the shoulders of giants, as they say, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out.
  19. Yeah, that's pretty fantastic! Great job!
  20. Just posted this in the May the 4th Contest (with proper credit to Jerac, of course, and more pics), so now I can post my Arrr-Wing version of his great creation: As noted in my other thread, I had to redesign the rear portion of the las-cannons due to my color choice (could have used Bright Light Orange, but went with yellow.) They're closer to some older designs, but different. Also, completely modded the upper wings to attached the fused skull & cross bones.
  21. Disclaimer: credit where credit is due; this is a modification of the amazing X-wing moc (V2) by @Jerac (see here.) I had to make some modifications to make the theme work, but it's mostly his design. Don't know if that will disqualify me, but at the very least, treat it as a reskin. I was in the middle of designing it in Studio at the time that the contest was announced, but have since built it. In-universe (SW) history: Blackburn Squadron is group of former pirates from the outer rim who chose to align with the Rebellion when the Empire started taking control of systems in their territory. Much like the great Saw Gerrera's Partisans, Blackburn's methods are often deemed too violent for much of the Alliance's leadership. Their results, however, are rarely questions. Candidates for the squadron are heavily trained and tested before they can be considered for membership. Upon selection to the unit, every pilot must travel to the fourth planet of the unit's home system to hunt and kill two Jakerni, giant indigenous primates that rival Gundark in size, strength and ferocity. Their skulls and leg bones are then fused to the wings of the pilot's new X-wing. Real world history: The scheme is based on the Jolly Rogers series of U.S. Navy squadrons, beginning with VF-17 in WWII and passing most recently to VFA-103 in 1995. Initially, bearing just a small black "Jolly Roger" (skull-and-crossbone) flag on an otherwise normal paint job, they began to adopt the more-recognizable scheme currently utilized with VF-84. While there have been different variations, the common components are the black tail fins with large white skull-and-crossbones and gold tips, black around the cockpit that continues to the nose and "Vagabond" stripes (gold w/ black chevrons or black with gold chevrons, barrowed from VF-84's previous name.) Some have gray noses, some black and some F-4's had white ones. Build history: I adopted mostly the current version of the paint scheme, but thought the white nose was distinctive (like a skull itself), so I used it. Originally, the wings were done with stickers, but I wasn't satisfied with the results (it would have helped to have a 6 x 4 tile without studs), so I decided to "brick build" them instead. This was tricky due to the pins that stick out of the bottom. With such thin wings, I decided that they had to be fused to the top. Ended up using these to turn technic bricks for the pins to mount in. The long bones are attached with black clips, one raised by a 1x1 plate to clear the other. I haven't settled on the Vagabond stripes yet, as I had a few ideas (for example, as seen here.) Even had some sticker chevrons, but didn't use them after I went brick build on the S&CB. For the gold color, I went back-and-forth between Yellow or Bright Light Orange. Most of the actual designs are closer to yellow, but due to lighting, often look like BLO. I went with the one closer to the Trans-Yellow windscreen, which I knew I had to incorporate as soon as I saw it. Using yellow did, however, require redesigning the rear portion of the laser cannons, since ingots do not come in Yellow (but do in BLO.) Finally, the red corresponds to the inlet caution labels on many of them. At first, I used dark red, but decided to try red instead, thinking it look more like vibrant blood coloring.
  22. As with anything Lego, there's rarely a perfect option. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. That's the fun and challenge of the medium. I was able to piece together enough to play with, but it would be interesting to see the full list. There's some small internal difference in what I put together, as the alignment is just slightly off.
  23. I'll have to check that out. I did have one other idea, but you already used the quarter rounds for the eyes:
  24. Nice! Definitely an improvement. I can still see the nose as eyes, but it's not first thought. The ingot is the best at that, but doesn't quite look right. It would interesting to see that parallel universe ... that would have been a shocking twist in ROTJ. Might have been a much shorter movie.
  25. And for goodness' sake, give Luke a 93160!
