  1. My favourite Modulars are Corner Garage, Brick Bank and Detectives office. Funnily enough they’ were all released around the same time.
  2. Definitely got Carribbean vibes. As mentioned the tree builds seem very useful.
  3. Some real bangers there. The tractor, French fry truck, Lego van, cement mixer and taxi, the latter in multiple, are must haves fro my city.
  4. This is beautiful. Reminds me of the old catalogues. I'd love to see more images and angles of the ships for inspiration though.
  5. I e filled out the survey and ticked a few boxes for things I not quite sold on, including other, with other being that the capstan is non functional and there's no way of raising and lowering the anchors.
  6. Great stuff. Love it. Keep up the great work, I look forward to seeing more of your stuff.
  7. I love the PotC films and I think the Black Pearl is cool. But if I were to choose between the two I’d prefer to get a Wicked Wench release.
  8. What a beautiful imperial port city. I hope Red Beard's crew mange to pull off their daring rescue. Kudos on a great moc.
  9. I’m very much in the same boat as you. I love LEGO’s in-house IP and unique themes. I do think I would get into licensed themes more if they had the yellow skin toned minifigs, though I do appreciate and understand why they don’t.
  10. I’m pretty sure Jang buys all the sets he builds and reviews, so he’s very impartial and will give criticism where it’s due. He also comes across being a very warm and genuine human being.
  11. Hi friend. I was daydreaming the other day and letting my thoughts wander and thought of this thread at one stage so I thought I’d check it out again. How did you end up getting on with this project? Did you end up finishing the island/shipwrecked version of the MOC? I can’t quite fully picture how it would end up being once completed, but your description sounds very interesting, and given how well the Barracuda came out I think the island would end up up looking grand.
  12. The Skull’s Eye Schooner is a very nice ship and is really, really cool. However, the Barracuda wins for me. The only thing lacking in the Barracuda is the working compass that the Schooner has. But both ships are lovely and I would be proud to own either, or better yet both.
  13. I like the idea of a residential building, but do hope there is some small business at the ground floor like a new stand or small coffee shop or something even if it only takes up a small section of the floor space.
  14. Good stuff. Although I’m still hoping for a future dedicated Pirate only CMF series. And Castle too for that matter. D&D CMF series doesn’t count for the latter, I want a dedicated Castle themed CMF series with yellow skin, featuring Catle factions. Eagerly awaiting the Quartermaster CMF though, should be good.
  15. Where are those heads from?
  16. All I can think of is my younger brother’s friend, Mitchell, who had a bag and used to tear off pieces of paper and dip them in the bag and chase girls at school with them.
  17. Beautiful. Stunning. Kudos, keep up the great work.
  18. Hi all, amongst the myriad of hobby projects I’m working and also planning , I’m wanting to build a cyberpunk/not-not- Ninjago City/New Hashima inspired metropolis. I’m just wondering if anyone has a copy of the instructions for the New Hashima cube that they could email me or a link to a copy online they could provide me with. The instructions used to be available on the RebelLUG website but now the link comes back with a 404 error. I don’t know whether the instructions have been taken down due to collab being over or whether they’ve been taken down to stop peole from copying the design. However, I hope it’s the former and someone associated with the collab sees this and feels they can share them with me. I’m only intending on building my own layout at home and won’t be profiting off them in anyway. I thought I had downloaded and saved the instructions back a few months ago but it appears I’ve accidentally deleted them. Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Hi all, in my voyages of the vast ocean that is the internet I found this horse barding for the Raven Knights faction https://www.picklebricks.com/product-page/raven-knights-horse-barding . Anyway I was wondering what others make of it. Is it a LEGO piece with aftermarket printing or is it a third party piece both in construction and design? Has anyone purchased these? If so, what are your opinions of the product? A while ago I read somewhere that connecting minifig feet to third party studs can damage your minifig because other companies don’t have make their products to the same standards and tolerances that LEGO does? Is this true or is it BS? I like the look of them. However, Raven Knight minifigs are both rare and expensive as far as minifigs go and wouldn’t want to cause damage to them for the sake of having some cool cavalrymen.
  20. Also I do think that the bright light orange did look better. Love that we’re getting Johnny thunder though. EDIT: Looking closely at the Jungle sets it appears that the minifigs are meant to be alternate versions of the characters represented in the most recent Arctic Explorers line. That actually is pretty cool. And as an added bonus I didn’t consider, the jungle and Arctic vehicles could be inserted into either setting, using the minifigs and and animals from each of the respective settings. For example adding the Chinook and the sea plane from the Jungle series as part of your jArctic expedition or the ship from Arctic line as a base of operations off the coast from which you could launch your jungle expedition. Quite clever really.
  21. Love the excavator. Definite buy for me. Funny that the Jungle explorer stuff appears to be the same livery and logo as the most recent Arctic Explorer line. I might see how hard it would be building the Jungle Explorer stuff in the old, bright light orange, livery. Either that or build the MOCs I’ve bought plans of from hauling bricks in this new livery.
  22. Exactly this. Someone is better trying their luck with the BDP if they want to publish a modular building. If I ever try my hand at getting a LEGO Ideas submission approved I'd probably build a retro item. We've had the PacMan Machine, the Atari, the NES, the Fender and the Polaroid Camera. You're better building what LEGO is more likely to produce rather than what you want as a set. Also once you've submitted an entry you can't do anything with it like sell plans on Rebrickable or have a third party company like Mediaeval Bricks or their parent sell your idea for you for no small period of time afterwards.
  23. Yeah it was really rough on her. My sister and her husband and my two nieces along with their next door neighbour, an elderly woman, were told to move out and given not much notice. She offered to pay more rent but the landlord said he wanted to redevelop and put more units on the lot. Stupid thing is is that after the duplex she was in was bulldozed, the lot now sits vacant with a for sale sign on it. What makes things even worse is that three years later the landlord of the house she moved into next has done the same thing and she had to move again. Both times she offered to pay more rent and both times that respective landlords said no. At least my niece's didn't have to swap schools twice and are still at their new school because they managed to stay in the same district. Her youngest daughter, the youngest of my five nieces, enjoyed looking at my LEGO when they came by to borrow the trailer to move house the second time . The reason Mum gave her the box of LEG was that her other daughter got heavily into LEGO after watching the LEGO Movie. She even nagged my sister to build Metal Beard's ship when she saw the ship hulls, which my sister attempted to the best of her ability, lol. Not only was my pirate and castle stuff in there, but also our other sister's Paradisa stuff and some western sets our brothers had, along with elements from 1980's town sets. The rental market in our city is brutal and I am thankful everyday that my Dad, two brothers and I are able to share a mortgage and are home owners, or at least will be once we finish paying the bank. Sometimes there is conflict, four grown men sharing a residence, but we're lucky we're not renting and at the end of the day we got each other's backs
