  1. Alright, thanks for the info. I have the older versions from 2011.
  2. Thank you. That is real cool. Around 1.5 years ago I got your LEGO trains book and I've been using your great information till this day That Thalys is really nice, but if it was constructed in dark red it would look even better. Too bad the color is overly priced.
  3. I do have a question. What are the differences in V1 and V2.
  4. Thank you! I have seen many Thalys in 6 wide (Standard LEGO gauge) but I like 8 knobs wide because you can add a significant amount of detail!
  5. I've started creating a new MOC. The TGV Carmillon. My first idea was a Thalys, but due to unavailable parts the idea was scrapped. I have fancied these SNCF train types for some time now and with nothing better to do it seems like a good time to finally build one. This is the bogie creation I have made; as you can see it will be an 8 stud wide model. This means it will be a lot heavier, but with the power of 2 normal powered train bogie's and a x6 AA battery box it should be no problem. The engine is near complete, but will need changes over time
  6. I do have the electrical parts, I have scrapped 2 receivers from 40230 Technic Bucket loader I got back around 6 years ago. It also has an L motor on it but taking it out will be an absolute pain. Thanks for the complement. I do not know if I will be able to build it in real life because I do not have the money for it. That is why I might release instructions for it, in hopes to get some buyers A new model is coming soon (PBKA Thalys) it will be much better and refined because I plan to create it over the next 2 weeks! I hope to speak again soon.
  7. Thank you! I dearly appreciate it.
  8. My model of the Burlington Northern GP40-2 is officially complete! This "endeavor" took almost a week to complete and I think it came pretty decent but not the best The model will be powered by a standard battery box, 2 large motors, and an IR receiver for speed regulation. Dimensions: Base-8 studs, extends to-10 studs, length-50 studs. This means it is a 1:48 scale model Piece count 1430 - Price - $160-$180 USD which is not too bad, but still a lot of buckaroos. 9. Thank you for the in-depth reply! I think what I will do is start a new topic because my model consists of over 1400 parts and I would like to display many pictures so that fellow builders can see all the techniques, parts, etc. that I used. I appreciate your very explanatory response. I hope you have a wonderful day and to speak to you again real soon, do not forget to keep bricking!
  10. Hello all who may be reading this! I hope you are having an amazing day. I wanted to start a general discussion about forum posting, as I am new to the website. Some might know that I am creating a Burlington Northern GP40-2 and the title is listed as a WIP. My question was when I finish creations, should I start a new topic of the finished product, giving an overview. Or should I keep posting the finish in the previous discussion and if so were? I'm open to all answers and ideas. Thanks -AlexxInc
  11. Alright! Thanks for the clarification.
  12. Did you MOD the Ecto-one? I got this set when I was a lot younger (around 5 years ago) and it looks like you improved it really well if you did MOD it. Do not forget about that ghost, he is amazing! I love the usage of a hot air balloon section as a tongue.
  13. Sounds great! Cant wait to see it
  14. I think you should print out a vinyl sticker for the stripe, but that is totally up to you! Thanks for the clarification. I did not know what it was used for. You learn something new every day!
  15. I saw your flickr posts of your train and it looks really nice! I did notice that there is a yellow stripe near the bottom of where the red part begins, but perhaps you are creating a different model/year of it! I do like the little plow(?) you made under the buffer.
  16. I also do think they should add something, but founders of this website want you to read the EB new member forum to know guidelines, etc. Before I knew this I had uploaded that low quality photo shown above.
  17. Yes, It is just so satisfying when the half plate rib lines up! This is what I struggle with sometimes, offsets and micro-plating.
  18. Thanks! I had found it out under the EB new member forum. New pictures will be coming soon
  19. That's a pretty cool train engine you have there. The only thing i would have done different would to replace some of the studs with tiles. This is just my preference because I know some people like to keep that LEGO look.
  20. My file got messed up or corrupted so I had to restart it. Fortunately I had my sub-models on a different storage place!
  21. Very nice design! Look like you used some old triangle pieces for the freight. Clever
  22. Thank you all for the positive feedback!
  23. That is a nice design, as like all your others! I really enjoyed your detailed book. I got it for Christmas last year.
  24. Thank you! It is pretty large! The two reasons I chose these double L motors is because it is over 17 ounces in bricks and I have the motors but have to scrap them off of some large technic sets
  25. Thank you very much! Yes it is a winch, originally used as a string attachment for a crane! I got this idea from chopper Botics Gp-38. More updates will be coming soon as I have spent a couple hours each day on this project. So far I'm happy to say it's looking pretty decent
