  1. The main advantage i saw in PP tires is that they are heavier, So the center of mass is much lower than with original tires. But as for me, i prefer more torque than better stability. When I receive my 9398 i will test my opinion. May be I am not right...
  2. If one wheel out of friction - all torque tends to go to the non-frictioned on-the-air-wheel, but rubber "dont want" to fast rotation central gear, so part of torque goes to wheel-on-the-ground. Of course rubber eats some power of motor at turns and when one wheel on the air, it is middle between opened diff and fully blocked. First is 100% good at turns but 0% effective when one wheel in the air, and second is very bad at turns and 100% effective at bad surface. Friction ring is the middle: balance is only depends on friction power of rubber.
  3. I want to tell you about the simplest way to make LSD. It is not a construction, but simple imitation using non-lego material, little cheat:) You don't need any additional space or details. Just take thin rubber ring with size equal to gear 12 tooth bevel and with a hole in the middle. Place this ring under the central 12tooth gear at differential. It will make additional friction when one wheel "on the air". More the size of the wheel - more friction you need. Use it;)
  4. Cool! Great and very detailed job. I'am proud that i' m your countyman;)
  5. Yes, a toy. Crawler is only name. It is a toy simulation of crawler. If we will follow your logic: we have to rename 8043 excavator to something other like tracked vehicle with motorized arm..??!:) Name is only for marketing. They can name super truck trial crawler, but it does not mean anything about its purpose
  6. Hey guys, dont forget that 9398 is serial toy, which was constructed by lego to play safe and not to destroy gears and ujoints. I'm sure they can use two xl mototrs or make l motor more powerful - but this will be dangerous for plastic details. Tell me please, who builded any truck trial trucks without broken gears and joints? Powerful Truck trial moc - always risk for details, Lego understand it. Underpowered crawler - was their goal. They did it. They dont want to launch exchange program for broken details like with 8043s actuators, or 8110 pneumatic pumps.... You are waiting too much from serial plastic toy.
  7. using speed remote control for steering
  8. Lacks of torque?! We have some reserve: what about using 8:24 at portal hubs ?
  9. Yes it is. Two such motors. Norecharg.boxes are heavier.
  10. Thank you for great review of great set!:)
  11. Can you test new crawler with old IR receiver? Just wanna know what is the difference: control/signal system or just increased amperage? May be it will be possible to use v2 IR receiver with RC buggy motors with better perfomance than v1..?!
  12. Don''t you like to build your own complicated sets? It is a basis for our mocs. We can make it complex with many functions using our brains and hands - this is technically challenging, not buying ready complex set that you dont want/cant improve.
  13. Too big for fast little cars with 43 wheels
  14. Very good. How can i know the price for that set of tires? You can move your topic here. It would be better to collect all info in one place:) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=67156&st=0&p=1225773&hl=Custom%20tires&fromsearch=1entry1225773
  15. Super!!!! But Video is unable to load:(
  16. Good work. And it's good, that lowering 3:1 gear is situated after u-joint shaft and there is no unimog's Portal axle housing reduction. Good idea for supercars including RC
  17. Great!!!! Now we can see the new motors!!! What is the original source of pictures?
  18. I think that tire is too heavy and big for lego plastic axle to roll it by pf motor even with reduction. So they are usable only for not motorized models. But looks great! P.s. May be, steel axles with rubber belt main gear - is only way to "motorize" that wheel.
  19. Cool crawler. Is it powerful enough and competitive for TT challenge? Can you try&post video with 16/16 or 12/20 gear at portal hubs? Very interesting:)
  20. Beautiful sights, Nico! Alpine crawler? Moc looks like it is an original lego set, really cool. Cool climbing ability. And also cool frame body Watching video, it seems like springs are too hard for this light body. Don't you think?
  21. Found that some custom tires can be fitted well at lego discs and are able to use in mocs: First is pure lego wheel from RC set "red beast" from early 20xx. It has very good grip, but it is hard, heavy and low-profile. You have to work if you want to detach tire from original disc. Construction of original wheel consist of: This is second one (right on photo). Tire is from non lego RC toy with brand "new bright". It is soft like unimogs tire, and non-baloon, but light and had good mud terrain protector:) do not tested it yet. Comparing with 8297 baloon wheel: Don't be afraid of using custom wheels:) it just piece of rubber between your moc and ground. Dont think it is a big problem, if you are purist;) What do you think about it? Write your experience.
  22. Compact car? Rear wheel drive with v8 and live axle. It is like pony car, ford mustang:)
  23. What is the voltage of "wires"? Is it equal to batteries?
