LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
ACWWgal2011 replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
That really doesn't count. At least with series 5 there was some idea on what we had coming. Only series 8 image is the black box. -
while i have purchased sets in which the lego minifigures highly influenced my purchase, the only sets i can be guilty of just for the figures are the impulse sets i either got on sale(farmer, jester, and wizard guy) or they are/were a super good price which to date has only been a couple of the AC $5 sets with the alien and ADU guy.

Have you tried ordering the figures you're after from eBay or BL? Depending on who you order from, it can be a really good bargin. That's what i did with the series 6 and 7 figures along with a series 4 skateboarder(3 different orders). I also picked up parts and i needed and it worked out well.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 7 Discussion
ACWWgal2011 replied to whung's topic in Special LEGO Themes
As far as the holding stock, i think it's because the storesare probably to lazy to put it out and/or it's easier to tell customers that we "don't" have any out at the moment. The second closest walmart appears to actually have series 6 AND 7 figures but seems like they can't be bothered to put out more then 1 pack of each. As far as series 7, i saw 1 pack at the second closest walmart but nowhere else. When it comes to location at target, one had them right in the same aisle and the other had the display a few aisles down. -

3.50? That's better then the price tag on the CMF's at the TRU about 45 minutes away from us. We stopped there a few days ago to see if i could find series 6 figures since all other attempts, including a barnes and noble, came up with nothing. The series 5 and 7(no series 6 though) were 4 dollars a pack As far as the MB issue, that's the same thing with the closest walmart to me also. I honestly think that the WM doesn't even care about lego stuff anymore. The current construction bricks(Lego, MB and knex) section is about half an aisle(A full aisle would be the shelves on BOTH sides of you) and around 5 average shelf lengths long. By the time you subtract the clone brands, star wars(there a bunch of star wars stuff), and bulky containers all that's left is a little city, creator, empty space for ninjago, 1 or 2 POTC, and i think that's it. -
I heard it's more of a lego making it where people have to buy lots of packs to get the ones they want if they don't know the feel, barcode, or bump method case that they really want. Even less popular ones still have people who want them. But i think it's also a combined factor to stop people from buying them all up but that hasn't stopped people last time i checked.

i wasn't implying it was lego's fault, i was implying that unless lego steps up the game with minifigures, they may not attract that many new people in the future. With nearly all the other blind bags PLUS trading cards, they can go into the existing collection of a certain item easily. With minifigures, a lot of the figures don't really work with existing sets out there not counting if you're a MOCer.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
ACWWgal2011 replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't count those gb figures. I won't believe they ACTUALLY exist until they are found in stores. Anyone with a basic knowledge of the internet, customizing figures, and photoshop could easily fake an announcement and images. -
I didn't say lego came before OR after the packs. I just said that lego was blending in into the crowds with all the other blind packs and i'm not kidding. I went to walmart trading card aisle and found a royal guard HIDING in the gogo box when i was looking for gogo series 1. except for the fact i know what the series 5 looks like, i would of just passed it up most likely. And the series 5 fitness was ontop of trading card boxes and i don't know how she got there since the series 5 boxes have been gone for at least 1-2 months

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

The only release date talk i've heard was that it's sometime in september. -
By progress, do you mean factors such as the new figures in each series compared with older series, how unique the blind bags are, and how they are distributed among stores? If so, then no. If that's not what progress means, what do you mean that way i could correct what i say. To me, the figures are getting more bland as the figures continue to come out. I find that series 1 to be my favorite compared to the other series, #4 being right behind and series 3 would be right behind #4. As far as distribution, I am NOT happy. In 2 days i've been to SIX stores trying to find the series 6 figures that were widespread a couple months ago tops. 2 targets, 2 walmarts, a toy's r us, and even a barnes and nobles had NONE. The 2 targets had no series 6 but series 7, 1 walmart had no minifigures of any kind, the other only had ONE packet of series 5 hiding in the trading card section that wasn't there a week ago, the toys r us only had 4 dollars a pack series 5 and 7, and B&N had old sets but no series figures. By old sets, i mean AC, kingdoms, PQ, and atlantis that i was shocked to see at more or less MSRP. I've been trying to catch the figures in stores around here since series 1. And it took until Series 5 showing up in the from of 16 boxes at walmart to find them, then NO series 6, and now series 7. And I can not find the logical sense of the UK getting the figure a month or more ahead of the US and then it takes weeks or months to get to some stores. As far as the unique-ness factor of blind bags? There's a bunch of other companies doing it so lego is blending into the crowd in stores when i go looking to see if the series figures showed up or not(more often then not it's no). There's wacky packages, toonz/blinku's, garbage pail kids, about 4 different mega bloc ones, gomu erasers, gogo crazy bones, trash packs, lala loopsy, kookoo birds, moshi monsters, 2 or 3 different dog tag ones, those circle shaped WWE things, mario kart impulse, and even spongebob blind packs(no joke) and i know i'm missing quite a few items.

I like the figures but not that much. not sure why i ever got excited about them.
-
As far as the pace, they HAVE to slow down. Lego series 6 was barely released at the beginning of the year and i can't find them anywhere in real life now. Only series 7 is to be found at the 2 targets and toys r us i tried. I really want another space girl but by the time i'll set up another bricklink order, probably with series 8, the SG price could of jumped up. Itaria No Shintaku - I'm fine with feeling packs. And as far as customizing figures, by "packs for parts" I also meant customizing but i accidently cut that line out of my typing since i went through a ton of editing on what to say.
-
At first I thought they were worth all the excitement. The new parts were really exciting and since i really love minifigures, I loved the series so much at first. But over time i really lost interest in the series since it's really hard to find where i am and i got bored of all the new parts. If you're the type that gets excited by all of these new parts, i don't have anything against you but it's just not my cup of tea. I know it sounds weird to get bored with so many new parts but it's mainly an overload of the parts that's an issue. I find it really fun when i see new minifigure parts in sets. But that's because we're only talking about very few new pieces at a time and not a bunch of new parts at once. Ever since series 5, 3rd series I was able to get figures from, i really began wondering what's with all the hype. Unless you have the bump code or really good at the feel method, you could be stuck with figures you don't want if you're not into trading or selling. Even with the feel method, it can take a while to find the ones you want if you're not lucky. For me to find ONE graduate, it took me going through a full box(not sure if it was new full or person refilled the box full). To find ONE clown recently(not on sale but i needed one more), i had to go through about 45 packets to find it. Punk rocker? over 2 dozen packs. And at 3 dollars a piece in the US and much more in other areas, that'd add up really fast to unwanted figures. If they were only 2 dollars a piece, i'd be more open to unwanted figures but at 3, it's just too much. I am still getting some of the figures since there are some that kind of catch my eye but nothing really is giving me much of that "WOW!" feeling anymore. Plus it's also gotten EXTREMELLY old having to resort to either bricklink or ebay to find the figures. In store is rarely an option since there aren't any lego stores close to us, the closest walmart only had series 5 for a short time, the second closest walmart is the same scenerio on which figures but they have inventory just taking up shelf space not selling, and we rarely head to target. With my hunt for series 7, it took me well over a month and a half to track down the only two figures i really wanted. Plus on top of that, when we DO go to the lego store or target, it's also a major problem with actually catching the series # i want. We took a rare trip to BOTH targets in a nearby city yesterday and i found out the online data was wrong. It showed one as having series 6 in and one not having any with NEITHER having series 7. BOTH stores wound up having NO series 6 and only series 7 However the number of figures i'm after from past series 5 is shrinking FAST. I only wanted 4 figures from series 6 including doubles. I got most of what i'm after(still after a second space girl) and only a roman solider as an extra buy. Series 7 was only 2(Rabbit and tennis) with a punk rocker as an extra buy since i really am trying to get my female count up. It was mostly from a "I want them to go with figures i have" standpoint and not really a "I love the figures" standpoint. Series 8, if it exists, i don't know yet. Honestly I hope the series goes away soon. It's really bringing out the worst in people on this site and in real life. More then one person on the feeling the bag thread has said "Well, to bad so sad" or "that's life" when people vent about problems finding figures and people hogging them by the box full. Does a person REALLY need a full box of the figures? I get splitting the case amoung a few people and buying a box worth for online as long as you're not taking a box full from a place with only 2 or 3 boxes. And does a person REALLY need to build up a large army of the same lego minifigure? I get small armies of about 5 or 6 figures, maybe more if you want the packs for parts or you need more sailors and baseball players, but not the 100+ figure armies i've heard about. I'll admit i'm guilty of owning a 5 dwarf army and a 4 cheerleader army but that's not hogging figures. The cheerleader's were gotten over a few trips to the lego store in the BAM bin and the 3 of the dwarfs were gotten when the figures were on clearence not selling.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
ACWWgal2011 replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Same in my case. Our closet and second walmart got series 5 and they didn't move that much. The target we went to with series 5 didn't look like they're selling. Even the Lego store in houston had a bundle that when i went and it looked like NO ONE was interested in them. -
Also sets previously on sale, PAB leftovers, and rare cases of BAM leftovers.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

Seems like in the cases of not making enough money, they could just put the line on a temporary hiatus and make a comeback at another time. The stuff i keep hearing has the highest demand in popularity is all the discontinued stuff. Honestly if it wouldn't be so much, i'd be vintage hunting also. I almost never hear people wanting recently discontinued stuff but i hear lots of depends for 1990's stuff. Especially if paradisa came back, THAT would be a girls set i'd like -

I meant to say theroy and back up with my thoughts but i ran out of time. My theroy is that it might not last longer since isn't lego famous for killing off popular themes and specific sets in the prime of their life? -

There's no evidence of that many more. My opinion is that it won't last much longer. -
On bricklink, is there a way that i can run a search where i can see if a store has 2 or 3 different items without having to do two seperate searches then cross check that way? I'd like to get some items from a bricklink store in the near future but i am trying to find the best option. I have done seperate checks in the past but those checks were for more easily found items. I've heard of people doing it but up until now, i haven't had a need to find out how to do so.

Exactly. Like those 2 7.50 bags from the flea market that was "such a good bargin" when the first looked like a lot of knex of possibly clone brand and the second didn't look much better.

I saw that video. Guy was throwing a FIT that he "only" got half a wonderwoman and that if it was a generic he could do something with it. All he has to do is find a torso from the BAM bin that works and a lego head and end of story. I really don't like his complaining about partial minifigures. I'd be over the moon with "just" half of a WW find.

I had a little lagging earlier but no driver error.
-
I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I haven't had any loading issues today as of 10:15 pm EST.

Chalk me up for a site loading problem at about 10:15 to about 10:30 pm est tonight. It was just a refusing to load issue and not saying driver error.
