  1. I mentioned it earlier in the thread, and wasn't kidding--I definitely plan to bricklink a few of these and have 'em on the display (/for swooshing) in my dorm room. X-wing and the Shuttle for sure (structural modifications on the shuttle as Doc suggested). I'm anxious to see how you do the TIE and Falcon. I don't think I'll be getting the parts to build these in time to be stocking-stuffers (for my own stocking ), but I'll *definitely* be getting them. Need to get around to setting up and using LDD Manager to export parts lists from LDD files, but I'm on break now, so I've got plenty of time to get that done. Honestly, depending on how the costs are looking after the X-wing, Shuttle (and TIE, if you do it justice ), I might splurge on a few more of the ship models. Keep it up!
  2. Similar question, regarding the *Scary* effect. Does it absorb the free hit, or just make him untargetable by lower level enemies, so that the free hit instead targets the next in line? Can't recall seeing the hat in action, heh.
  3. "I think either Bluto or Thothwick should focus on one of the normal scarabs.. That, or I'm still a bit groggy from that wonderful night's rest! Heh heh" Thormanil will attack Scarab B from the front row.
  4. I'd like to give it a shot. Would be a nice refresher course for being a player having to *find* the clues, before hosting a Heroica quest and *laying* the clues.
  5. "Seein' as we're already here and have a few holes dug up, I'm with Thothy. Unless anyone wants to go get an extra shovel. But I'm rather enjoying watchin' Cinna do all the hard work!" He laughs.
  6. Differing opinions/views on hosting/QM'ing, I suppose. In a quest with a hidden clock ticking down in the background, I'm fine with the idea of it taking us a long period of in-game time to dig up (potentially) 35 grid-squares. Seems only fair. The consequence would be that we have less time available to us (in-game) to complete the quest. The characters themselves would probably be getting pretty annoyed and frustrated by about the 15th or 20th hole. I just feel like it's rather disengaging to have to sit around for a period of a few days while we dig up each hole individually. In a face-to-face setting, I'd have less of an aversion to it, since things would take longer but still keep moving at a steady pace. With the period between posts, though, like I said, a bit disengaging. And besides, holidays are coming up. I'd hate to finish up digging just around the time that everyone needs to take some time off for the holidays tl;dr, I understand the reasoning behind it, I just disagree with it. Still loving the quest so far
  7. Grudges may fade, but epic failure lasts a lifetime, etched in stone ps No hard feelings? Haha
  8. Ah, only 35. So 7 days, then, haha! I wasn't sure about spaces that were covered--I counted anything that wasn't in the water, rather than just tiles with center-studs. And yeah, as soon as we got to the beach, it clicked as to why there were shovels for sale. Though, if you're going to be delivering, I actually prefer mine on platinum dinnerware, sprinkled with finely grated gold flecks, thanks! As for the quote, that scenario bears a striking resemblance to the plotline of a popular console RPG series of that namesake. "What's that, you're finally here just in time to beat the big bad evil guy? Well, it took you seven years, but don't worry, you're just in time!" Hey, if it's worked for them, for 25 years...
  9. Psh, can you say artificial post-count boosting? Someone's got a case of quest-length envy... We've managed to dig up 5(?) holes in a day or two, and there's about 50 spaces we could potentially be digging. While, to be fair, we could have expedited this if we had more shovels, I *really* hope we get luckier than having to spend 10 days searching this beach (over the course of a single in-game night ).
  10. Was just trying to make a suggestion in character, heh. Didn't want to have a purely/mostly OoC post. I was just proposing that we present Sandy a list of spaces to dig, rather than do them one at a time. If we stumbled on something important, like a fight, we'd pause there. Currently: "C2" (pause) "Nothing. Next?" (pause) "C3" (pause) "Nothing. Next?" etc. Suggestion: "Let's dig up the entirety of row C" (pause) "C2, nothing. C3, nothing. In C4, you find an Anchor. C5, nothing. C6, nothing. When you stick the shovel in the ground at C7, a giant angry sand crab pops out at you! Battle time!" (pause) (We begin combat) Just would help to keep things moving, in my mind.
  11. 6 hours of sunlight a day? And you're complaining? Shoot, we're getting less than 4 here, right now.
  12. "We'll be here all night, at this rate. I think we should just dig up the rest of row C before taking another break, unless we dig up something interesting. And we could switch off shovelin' duties if ya get tired, Cinna." OOC: Clarifcation *Clicky*
  13. "If worse comes to worst, we can go get another shovel. But hey, we're here, let's get to diggin'!" Thormanil waits and watches as Cinna digs up the first hole
  14. "To the beach, it is! And we'll for sure be swinging by the market again before we go to the bog. I hope." OOC: Sorry, it's finals week, and a few of my grades are riding the line a bit closer than I'd hoped. I'll be done Friday (well, it'll be Saturday for most, by the time I'm done), but until then, unless I speak up, assume that I agree with darkdragon for any decisions. I'll post for fights and such.
  15. "Well of course, Docken! Can't have you shouldering that one yourself." Thormanil passes him 20 coins, then turns to Akbar "Now, my man, I'm a bit strapped right now, but I'm wantin' a Potion or two. I can offer ya 7 gold each.
  16. Stop. Stop. STOP. I'm going to need to buy myself a second stocking this year. You're killin' me, Doc.
  17. That's just because no one has presented an enemy that could be exploited by such an overlooked item! E.g. Turn 1: IMMA CHARGIN Turn 2: MAH LA---ooh a bone! Turn 3: IMMA CHARGIN etc.
  18. Muttering Everyone else at the Hall was getting pets... Joking aside, wonder how long it'll take us to get to the beach and find a golden scorpion. Got our work cut out for us over the next few nights.
  19. Sounds like a winner to me. Ooh, we could really push our luck and sell him a golden scorpion, THEN steal it back when we break out Hoptet and the unicorn!
  20. Well of *course* we will.. I think. Unless, of course, tonight happens to be that one single, lonely guard's birthday, and even though he has to work, all his guard-buddy-friends decided to throw a surprise party for him on his night-shift. In which case things'll get interesting.. but at least there'll be cake. ...There would be cake, right?
  21. "Who says you can't make good decisions after two in the morning, eh? Jail break at the zoo, necromantic rituals, and stealing a rare flower... We've got our hands full! Hoptet will be an invaluable asset, so I think he tops the list."
  22. Aw, Sandy, a game board and fogged out areas? Way to hog all the good mechanics for yourself! Guess I'll just have to make my layout look especially awesome.
  23. Remember what I said about my next BL wishlist/parts list/order? Well, it just doubled in size. Amazing work. Just.. gorgeous.
  24. Taking a moment to be caught up on the events at the Menagerie so far, Thormanil addresses Marmaduc: "Aye, this here's Thothwick. Might look a bit primal, but he's quite the gent. Just don't try to put chains on him, too--I'd hate to have to start any trouble! Heh heh." Facing Thothwick, "Thothy, what's the chance you could communicate with the metasimian in the cage, perhaps get him to follow directions, display some advanced capabilities? If he's from a different tribe (or what ever social structure you all fancy), Bartholomew might be able to act as a translator..." And finally, to Cinna and Bartholomew "And, you two mentioned that unicorns are more trusting of youth, something about their innocence... Think there's any way we can use Bluto, here, to help us out in that regard?
  25. That is a beauty. I think I know what my next BL wishlist is going to be for...
