Badboy, thanks for hosting this, it was a very fun few weeks! Both this and your CDF game were very entertaining, and a great introduction to EB Mafia games for me. It was a bit slow, and there were plenty of periods of inactivity, and I'm far from innocent in that regard. For my own part, the beginning was especially rocky, as I was in Seattle for a conference, and only had my phone to post from. That, combined with a series of "I'm busy for X days" posts in the C&D thread, and def's request/suggestion that people find a way to explain that in the day thread, hoo-boy, after day 1 I was sure I was going to be on the radar, haha. In the future, I'll probably just keep my mouth shut if I find myself in such a position again and float along with the silent crowd, rather than drawing attention to myself by apologizing for it/even mentioning it. Does this mean that dear old Lizzy was really a loyal yakuza family member? If so, you'll find me in a corner, trying to dislodge my foot from my mouth. I must thank def for being so active throughout this game. I know that there are/were others in his circle, and that I'm not giving you due credit, so just take your fair share of that which I give def Even when he was mistaken, he still gave us stuff to talk about, things to discuss, and more opportunities to analyze peoples' actions. Now, perhaps someone else would have picked up the reins had he not, but as it stands, he's getting my "MVP" vote Are we/should we reveal role pm's, here? I'm quite curious as to more than a few of your roles...

As Thormanil approaches Anwyl's shop, the blacksmith looks up and lets out an exasperated sigh. "Back already, Mr. Nihai?" "Yessir! I, well, this is a bit embarrassing, but I need you to make a few more adjustments to my axes." "Your axes?! But I just worked on them yesterday! What could you possibly.." Laying his axes on the table, he sketches a design out for Anywl "Think you can manage something like that?" "Course I can. But you know, you can't keep messing with these blades. Keep this up and eventually they're gonna wear out on you." "I know, and I appreciate all yer work. I think I'll be stickin' with this new totem for awhile." "You'd better be, boy. You'd better be." On his way to the training room, Thormanil stops by the market for a few errands. His first visit was to the local tailor. Browsing the selection of fabrics, he settled on a bold red bolt of cloth, and requested that he be fitted for a tunic and a pair of slacks. The tailor smiled, approving of the barbarian's decision (to finally put on a shirt). After taking his measurements, the tailor asked if that was all he would be needing. Thormanil recalled the putrid swamp and could almost taste the foul air. He asked the tailor if it would be possible to fashion a headwrap, thick enough to filter the air, but lightweight enough to not stifle him. Again, the tailor smiled as he nodded, and set off to work. While waiting for the tailor to stitch together his outfit, Thormanil headed off to the blacksmith. He had grown fond of his twin axes, but sorely missed the power he harnessed while swinging around his heavy old greataxe. There, he had the blacksmith join the handles of his blades together, a reasonable compromise, he thought. His new axe-staff in hand, he heads back to the tailor's. Upon arriving, the man appears quite satisfied with his handiwork, and urges Thormanil to try it on. He does so but, much to his dismay, everything just felt far too constricting, like it was designed for royalty. The slacks were tight and left him no room to move about, and the tunic was decorated with frills and laces that could not possibly be beneficial to sneaking around. And the headwrap was not a headwrap at all, but a scarf. Not wanting to offend the tailor, Thormanil thanked and paid him, finally proceeding towards the training room. Along the way, he made his own adjustments to the outfit, tearing the slacks off at the knees, ripping the sleeves off of his tunic, and rewrapping his scarf, along with the scraps from the rest of his clothes, into a proper headwrap, one that would sufficiently hide his face. Feeling comfortable and confident in his new-new outfit, he strode into the training room, approached The Copper Fox, and boldly announced, "Mr. Fox! I've come to train in the arts of stealth and subterfuge!" The Copper Fox turns to him and grins. "Oh ho, well, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I'm no miracle worker. I can't teach you to be a rogue, you know." "Wasn't askin' ya to. I'm lookin' to become a Raider." The Copper Fox chuckles. "Well, you're certainly dressed for it, aren't you? Heh heh! So be it. Now, there's not much to train, per se. Raiders don't possess much of the agility nor guile of the rogues. They're meant to be quite brutish. A rogue coming to me might have to train for weeks before they have the strength and brawn required to go around mugging folks." "So, what'm I here for, then? You just gonna call me a Raider, pat me on the back and send me on my way? That all seems a bi-" "Let me guess. A bit useless? Well, that depends. See, rogues who come here, they need to train physically, bulk up. But they're already used to deceiving people, lying and cheating and stealing. It's in their nature, it's who they are. But you, well, you're here to decide for yourself if you're really capable of such acts. Trust is a hard thing to regain, you know." "Of course I am!" His grin fading, the Copper Fox takes on a much more serious demeanor. "Are you, though? Tell me, why do you wish to be a Raider so badly?" "Gold's what makes the world go 'round, Fox. But it ain't exactly easy to come by. And I'm trying to do some good, here, but folks're takin' advantage of each other every day. If I'm gonna be any kind of effective, I'm gonna need a full wallet. I'm tired of being tricked and manipulated when I'm just lookin' out for the greater good." "So, you've been pushed around, and now you feel it's your turn to push someone else around. That's a pretty vicious cycle, isn't it?" "Well.. I.. I don't care. It's what needs to be done. I don't much like the idea of robbin' folk, but knowing that they'd not give it a second thought if the tables were turned..." The smile returns to the Copper Fox's face. "If it's what you really want, then fine, Mr. Nihai, I'll help you to elliminate those feelings of guilt and remorse, enabling you to be a ruthless Raider. But it's getting late, we'll begin training in the morning. Why don't you stay the night here? It's important that you get a good night's rest." "I, uh... Thank you, Mr. Fox, I'll do that. I guess I'll see ya in the morning.." Thormanil retires to one of the guest quarters, but has difficulty falling asleep. He wrestles with his thoughts for a good while before finally dozing off. But a peaceful night's sleep was not his to be had. He tosses and turns in his sleep until he finally wakes up, almost more exhausted than he had been the night before. He returns to the main training area, where the Copper Fox is already awake and waiting for him. "Good morning, Mr. Nihai! Are you ready to cast aside your concern for others, in favor of your own interests?" "I... No, Fox, I'm not. I'm not one for superstitions, but I had the worst dreams last night, and I don't know what they mean, if they even mean anythin' at all." "That's good, Mr. Nihai. Let's talk about what you dreamt. Such heavy dreams are not to be ignored." Thormanil tells the Copper Fox of his dreams. He had seen people from his previous journeys, the awful witch, the souk merchants, and Mr. Shawe. He knew them to all be deceitful, putting their own interests ahead of others'. This alone didn't bother him too much. But in his dreams, he had felt the disdain of all those who had interactions with them. He could feel their loathing, their hatred, even, and knew that no one trusted these individuals. Their friends were few and far between. And then he had seen himself, laughing along with the souk merchants.. "..and then I woke up, sweating and turned right around on the bed." "Sounds like your conscience might not be able to meet the demands of being a Raider, Mr. Nihai. I could still train you, and we could get past this, as any other obstacle, bu-" "That's not all, Mr. Fox. I managed to fall asleep again, hoping I'd actually get some rest. But I soon found myself in another dream. Except, this one wasn't awful. Not in the least bit. I saw my friends. Cinna, who's always looked out for others, especially in the cases of both De'kra and the boy, Bluto. And Tomas, and Hoptet, always givin' of 'emselves to keep the rest of us in good health and fightin' form. Even in the middle of some of the toughest trials we'd faced, we knew we could count on each other. No one ran away, even if it woulda been the safe thing t'do.." "If I can stop you there, Mr. Nihai, I think I know wh-" "All due respect, Fox, but I'm not done." The Copper Fox grins and nods, allowing Thormanil to continue. "There's some awful, bottom-of-th'barrel scum out there. They're lookin' out fer 'emselves, and some of 'em are doin' a damned fine job of it. But there's no joy to be had, there. They aren't makin' the world a better place. I don't want to become one o' them." A wide, understanding smile now spread across his face, the Copper Fox asks, "So then, Mr. Nihai, why are you here today?" Thormanil confidently answers, "Mr. Fox, I do believe I'm here to adopt the rituals and practices of a Shaman." Thormanil Nihai, Level 18.5 Shaman Power: 31, Health: 34 Ether: 18, Defense: 3

I believe Sandy's main objection to the effect was that, in the description, you didn't state that it was limited to a single summon per battle and so, with lucky enough rolls, the owner of the book could raise an army in a few turns (or at least, could make the argument that they should be allowed to, because it didn't state that they couldn't).

Yakuza Family - Confirmation and Discussion

Yakuza Family? More like YAFKuza Family! -
Seems Akira forgot to mention that he's a double-voter, too
-
By what means, exactly? The Red Ninja is the only kill action we've seen the last two nights, both the white and black ninjas have seemingly disappeared. Would the scum teams somehow convince you to off yourself..?
-
Fair enough. That he didn't hesitate to address it is a good point, and throughout the day, I haven't much thought of him as a townie as it was. I still don't like the idea of taking pressure off of other suspects so early. As far as Nobuo's reasoning that the quieter, less active folks are somehow less likely to be scummy than Akira over here: correct me if I'm wrong, but they *are* still here, aren't they? Even if the clock is winding down for them... I don't mean to question Akira's scumminess, not in the least. The fact alone that he could have spoken up for Emi but chose not to for petty reasons, would have been plenty to draw my suspicions, but here he's given me, all of us, really, so many more reasons. Vote: Akira (Bob)
-
Oh, I don't. I was just saying that, aside from all the inconsistencies and such today, this, at least, was one thing that he didn't start. It was your quote of a private conversation, and following question of it, that lead him to explain himself, in public, as believing that he had deduced your role, which you then followed with an admission of your role. It isn't a saving grace or anything even close, but with all else stacking against him, I just don't think it is a good idea to have anything misrepresented, such that it could somehow be twisted at a later point. As far as why I haven't voted yet, maybe I'm just waiting for my favorite reptile to say something so horribly incriminating that she boots Akira right off the chopping block! But no, I do believe I know where my vote is going today. As always, I have my suspicions about Lizzy, none of which have really been eased, but shes been par for the course today. There is still plenty of time left in the day, so I didn't see any reason to rush. Besides, Akira knows he's up the proverbial creek already, so stacking the votes early isn't likely to put any extra pressure on him. If anything, it would likely just ease pressure on some of our other suspects (notice how Daisuke has fallen off the radar, despite providing next to zero defense). Seeing as how I can change my vote later if needed, and as of right now, Akira does seem like the obvious choice, I'd be happy to vote if you feel so strongly about getting it done early.
-
Well, in his defense, or what little he has, Akira wasn't the first to mention that today. Norio was relaying to us the conversations he'd had with Akira, and in doing so, brought up the time when Akira asked what he planned to do with "his role" on that night. Norio publicly questioned that line, and it was only afterwards that Akira came out and stated why he believed (not knew) that Norio was, in fact, an investigator. Earlier in the day, he even avoided revealing Norio's role, questioning the integrity of those who were reporting results to Norio. Still, I can't understand why you wouldn't stand up for Emi yesterday. If I'm understanding it correctly, then, as I said before, Emi shied away from you after two yakuza in your small network ended up dead, and a mutineer was found amongst you. Given that those are the only names you've claimed to have been in that circle, I still side with Emi's decision to distance herself--of 5, 3 were dead, 2 of which were loyal family members. Are you really so spiteful as to let her get lynched yesterday (the answer, by the way, appears to be a "yes"). It also seems quite convenient that you have given us the names of those who were in your network, and all of them are quite incapacitated at the moment. Even Emi, who by her own admission was conservative in private and preferred to handle things in the public eye, can not verify your words.
-
So you're a bit sore that Emi, a Yakuza, distanced herself from a group that consisted of two dead townies, and a proven Mutineer that betrayed you all? I certainly can't think of any rational reasons for distancing oneself from that group.
-
Do you perhaps have a reasonable defense now, then? I don't think it would be overreacting, as we've got a fresh table for lynching today By "replacement", do you mean that you believe it is a new role that emerged/was created after the death of the previous killer left a void, or the previous role got upgraded due to circumstances? No trap here, just trying to figure out your meaning. ---- Losing Emi was a shame, but not one we can't come back from. Knowing that Emi was a loyal yakuza, I am at least relieved to know that I wasn't mirroring a mutineer's or agent's suspicions these last few days, though, by her own admission, for the most part she only knew as much as what was said in public, so we may both just be/have been ill-informed. With this second clean kill, it doesn't appear as though the red ninja will be losing any momentum in the coming days. Setsuku, a mutineer, tried to call out Shizuku from the chopping block, so I think it's fair game to say that the red ninja is, indeed, going after non-mutineers (if not yakuza). What's the word from our favorite anonymous investigator, any progress on that list?

I feel bad about being rather inactive for the last few days of the quest. Life has been, well, life, and it's been difficult enough to just stay as active as I have been in the mafia game. Plus, the rest of the gang seemed to be handling the last few interactions just fine on their own That said, thanks for hosting, Sandy! Really well thought out quest with a captivating story, interesting twists, plus decisions that really had an effect on the outcome of the quest. Great rewards, both exp- and item-wise. The items especially, offering us a sizable power increase without any complicated effects and such. Hope I don't sound too cliche in my review, because it's all true. Also, thanks to Doc, darkdragon, and the Professor, was a pleasure questing with you all

LDD File with all official parts?
swils replied to swils's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Thanks for the replies, folks. I might give Kalle's suggestion a try. Bricklink lookups have been my go-to thus far, and may continue to be, heh. -
As the title says, I'm curious if anyone has compiled a template file, one that has all the parts laid out (or at least all the bricks, not delving into figs/accessories), with a duplicate of each piece in each color it was produced in? I could probably spend an afternoon (or ten) putting one together for myself, but if there's already one floating around out there, I would love to get my hands on it
-
Your participation in the earlier days of this tragic week were, while a bit more frequent, no more useful than these last four days. Now, my dear Shiro, I'll be the first to stand up and admit that I am not free of guilt. Quite to the contrary. I have been quiet, I have spoken up and voted late in the day, and on those late votes, I usually ended up voting with the majority. But I have also been suspect for these very reasons. I don't trust Emi's overgrown lizard half as far as I could throw it, but that doesn't mean that Lizzy hasn't been raising valid points against you.
-
The lack of night-information certainly seemed to slow to day down, that's for sure. I think we've been spoiled by Norio and his regular reports . I haven't been very suspicious of Emi this week, but perhaps I've been blinded a bit by the fact that she shares my concerns regarding that lizard of hers. That said, I still haven't seen any good reason to keep Lizzy around, just as I haven't for the last few days (though, who will I carry out a crusade against once you're gone?). One way or another, it would bring me great peace of mind to finally see a close to the reptile's case. Vote: Lizzy(Capt. Redblade)
-
From yesterday, It's possible that Setsuku really was a miller, as she claimed, but unbeknownst to her, her true alignment would remain obscured in death, thus the orange mutineer. Or the dragon snorted some Tang powder. I hear it's the new cool thing to do
-
I know that I, for one, am Yakuza, but the rest of that list is a reasonable guess for being scum as of now, from what I recall from yesterday. See, I can make that claim too. Not that I don't believe you necessarily, but it doesn't seem like a very solid defense/case on its own. Or perhaps your loyalty to the family has been cleared by an inner circle, but not announced, and I'm just speaking out of ignorance . The appearance of a newly garbed ninja, coupled with the simultaneous disappearance of the body, is disturbing. Does it represent a joining of the Mutineers with the Agents in a last-ditch effort to take down our family? It could also be a one-shot job, perhaps used in conjunction with a limited use of the supposed janitor role. But then there's still the question of what happened to the two killers we've come to know and love? Both going inactive on the same night, seems a bit odd. Ah, I seem to have missed a final thought I'd had: Could we have actually managed to lynch the mutineer's killer yesterday? It doesn't explain away the MIA status of the white ninja, nor the appearance of the red and disappearance of the body, but I'm just thinking out loud.
-
I'm going to Vote: Setsukuo (fhomess) for, as I stated previously, I trust Norio's work so far. The claim of Miller would be a reasonable explanation, but I just can't see why you wouldn't come out with it earlier in the day. Despite the investigation, there were other candidates for suspicion today, and if you truly are pro-Yakuza, wouldn't it be better to shift the focus to one of them, rather than having us lynch you? As for Lizzy, one has only to look earlier in this tragically eventful week to know that I can sympathize with how tired you have been. That being said, let's get down to business: I know that Norio asked for names, and that you did just that. However, my point in noting that you were criticizing Shiro was not regarding the act itself, but the hypocrisy of the act. *I was going to comment on the "It could be nothing, really?!" bit from D5, but I realize now that I misunderstood that line. I apologize. *"What I don't like is how Shiro offered no thoughts of his own, and simply echoed the consensus that had been reached by that point in each respective day." On many of the days so far, you have done this very thing (and I believe I have commented on most of them, heh). *"Then, he says something that seems helpful, but is ultimately vague and unspecific." I'd like to refer you, again, to your not-suggestion about Tamiko's voters, and your numbers games, as those are shining examples. I'm not saying you don't have a point about Shiro, just that you fit the bill you have described fairly well, also. You *suspect* your words weren't clear? Even for a lizard that miraculously has the gift of speech, this is an understatement for the record books! All of what you said was horribly convoluted and, if I'm understanding your new explanation of it correctly, could have been said as "Before anyone suggests it, looking at who has voted for Tamiko won't do us much good because of how suspiciously she was acting." That wasn't so difficult, was it? Sure, it could raise some suspicion of "Well, why are you telling us not to do that? What are you trying to hide?", but at least that's easier to explain away than the mess you put forth. If it were me, I just wouldn't have said anything unless someone else suggested actually doing it first. You'll have to forgive me, but I am basing my thoughts and theories on your actions thus far which, collectively, have more than a hint of suspicion (if not guilt) to me. I wouldn't put it past an anti-Yakuza team to come up with a creative, indirect way of offing true Yakuza, perhaps like the one that I suspected "out of pure paranoia." If such a scheme is beyond the scope of your tiny lizard brain, then you have my sincere condolences
-
Thormanil pours in the other five of his remedies.
-
"I'll add another six to the water."
-
And for your own defense? Yet again you are being hypocritical, neglecting to answer my carefully laid-out concerns, and your one statement so far today hasn't been, if you don't mind me saying, particularly helpful. You're under suspicion, just like a few of us, and if you choose not to give any reason why you shouldn't be, well, that's your choice, but I think it's a damned stupid one, if you're a true templie.
-
"Are we sure one of those serpivines didn't take a jab at Docken? He's runnin' around like a looney! Anywho... if we're gonna rest, Docken, you should lend Hoptet your Bedroll.. Else we should be on our way."
-
Didn't catch it the first time through! And of course, we all make mistakes! Though, with this mistake being in Saburo's favor, his missing it makes me even more curious... But on the other hand, I trust there was a good reason he wasn't (meant to be) on your list in the first place, and, as I've said before, I'm inclined to trust your judgment after these last few days.
