  1. I'm not following this topic closely so I hope I hope I won't bring it up for the 100th time... but I really wish for a minifig scale UCS MTT. I hope that the UCS gunship sells well since this could prove to be a gateway for more prequel UCS sets How much do you reckon the set would cost? I'm leaning towards 350€/$ with a battle droid battle pack to accompany it, similar to UCS AT-AT and the snowtrooper battlepack Then again, I'm not sure how likely this is to come to fruition even if there will be more prequel UCS sets and MTT might not be the top prequel UCS set that people want...
  2. like I said - just a gut feeling. You have to take into account the griebling, the weird shape, the model stability/sturdiness, the stand to support the weird proportions ... which would somewhat increase piece count and price point. Of course it could be sold for less but I feel 350€ would be max price But that's as much as I'll elaborate - it truly is just a speculation without much basis and certainly not in line with any set rumoured for this year. But I'd keep an eye out in the following years
  3. I can see UCS Nebulon B selling for no more than 350€ - just a gut feeling. I don't think it's the big UCS for this year but I believe it's close (and following that logic I hope TIE bomber is close too - I have much more interest in that set too). I still think this year we're getting UCS death star - it fits the profile. A big, recognisable SW vehicle that people, who don't usually take much interest in Lego, would shell out money to with no issue. A lot of these big sets are now targeted towards adults who are "causal" fans or not (yet) fans at all I also second what some have said already - Lego isn't yet comfortable with making big UCS prequel sets. We are getting these slowly but we are not there yet. Gunship sales data still needs to be fully analysed - take that how you will
  4. I'd say it's a supply-demand issue (like with most things these days). Lego simply is not getting enough sets produced since they didn't take into account how popular it's going to be or they don't have that much manufacturing capability For an average adult consumer (target audience) I'd say Titanic is more iconic/desirable than an AT-AT. Plus it's less expensive and at first glance might provide more value for money Short story, AT-AT is not selling as fast as Titanic and production can't keep up. This should usually stabilises after some time, if I had to say I'd say it's going to take around a year
  5. I am split on the N-1 set. I'll need to see the underside to make my final judgement. I'll get it but it's just a question of when and for how much Also, no cape for Mando? I hope it's included as an accessory. I get that it's best to not have a cape on minifigs that are supposed to fit in a tight cockpit, but you can at least include one and let the consumer decide what to do with it
  6. for me, the visor is a dead giveaway that this is a fake. There's also apparent a mismatch of print stiles on torso, helmet and legs and rank insignia's missing. I know Lego can be sloppy but I don't think they can be this sloppy
  7. I have no idea if they have ever been wrong but mistakes happen. I'm being cautiously optimistic, I've been burned by hype far too many times in my life I'll believe it when I see it
  8. The list sounds amazing but I'm still a bit sceptical because it's one of those "too good to be true moments". I realise these are reliable leakers (arguably as reliable as you can get) but still, they could be wrong. I'm happy to be proven otherwise, don't get me wrong, I hope their track record stays as is even though my wallet does't agree with me
  9. I like Boba's palace. Enough to buy it at least. The minifigs are really good with some variety. Now I know I'm probably asking for too much for 60 dollars but...
  10. I'm liking the idea of anniversary minifigs more and more... which is a good time to ground myself in reality. I think chances of these are low, we have 0 leaks and we've gone into wish-listing. Not sayin' it can't happen, but as of right now we have 0 evidence for this
  11. not really relevant for this topic, but looking at the low-quality pictures of minifigs, do I see a minifig with an old-school tricorn hat? Does anyone know if a minifig like this is to be expected in any set, maybe minifig series? Or does this imply the theme chosen for the 90th anniversary (pirates or a mix of themes)?
  12. I do agree that Bionicle played a big role in company's survival in early 2000's but then again, last year was the 20th anniversary and what did we get? I don' think it was realistic to expect any anniversary sets since those usually apply to themes that are more or less continuously run (Harry Potter is a slight exception) for X amount of time, but at least a mention/post on social media would be nice. On the other hand I realise that people would loose their "bricks" and would grossly exaggerate importance of it which might be a reason stayed silent. Overall I'm of opinion that Lego isn't very comfortable with Bionicle right now. As far as I understand it, Lego destroys their moulds after some time, so they would need to reverse engineer them by using original pieces form original sets. I'd love it if they actually went that far though
  13. Exactly my thoughts and the main reason imo why Bionicle won't be picked as the theme to represent 90th anniversary. The only thing I dread is if they do a compromise and try to mash up 4 themes into a single set. I believe it's still optimal to just go all in on one of the themes. It's probably going to sell well and maybe Lego will take a hint that they should do more of these outside anniversaries. One can hope at least.
  14. I like both helmets but I especially like how the Luke's helmet turned out - I wonder if we'll see more open-design helmets in the future, like rebel trooper helmet from ep. 4
  15. I'm really interested in seeing what theme was picked. I'm hoping for Classic Space but I think Castle is a very strong contender too. I just hope they don't mix the themes. As big of a Bionicle fan myself I still don't think it's going to be picked - even if it got the most votes (which I don't think it did). To be completely fair, I don't think Bionicle should represent 90th anniversary set. I see that some people on Instagram don't necessarily share my opinion and might be severely disappointed when the set is revealed I also don't think we'll get much info on the set until the last minute, which could be a good or a bad thing, depending on how the set turns out to be
  16. I'm glad I was still able to get UCS AT-AT in my local Lego store with lightaber promotion + I got the year of the tiger promo as well! Now for a Display case and some snowtrooper battlepacks
  17. It was 100% supplied by Lucasfilm. I remember seeing this exact snowtrooper patch on another website where I was looking for a real-life snowtrooper helmet. However I can't, for the life of me, remember where exactly I saw it
  18. Interesting, I was not aware of this partnership, this may produce some sets available for larger consumption (I hope) I agree, Titanic scale is probably not something Lego would dare to come close with another ship. The only examples worthy of such size in my opinion would be battleships but we know Lego won't make them Who knows what will happen to 18+ line and how consistent it will be in the future. Right now it's hard to predict a pattern with its sub-themes such as ships and railway, both of which I would like to see more of in the future For now, even a smaller scale container or any other modern ship would be enough for me, similar to already existing Maersk ships
  19. I would love the idea of an official Lego battleship on a scale as the Titanic but sadly, there's just no way - even with the 18+ line of sets. Real-life warfare and Lego don't mix (this holds 99% true, remember the Sopwith camel and some Germans in Lego Indiana Jones sets) What I could see happening is potentially an unofficial sub-line of big ships under 18+ lineup. But seeing Lego testing the waters with this lineup more than anything, I too think this is unfortunately not very realistic A big civilian ships could be nice too - a container ship, a tanker (too controversial perhaps?), a modern cruise ship...
  20. just an observation - the limit of snowtrooper battlepacks in Slovenia region of Lego.com is 5 and they are still in stock. No luck with minifig packs though, although they were available for some time on the 1st and 2nd of January, I think. I really pity you Aussies, being a separate continent has a lot of advantages and also a lot disadvantages in this specific case...
  21. came across this video today - for anyone looking to mod the set to be as authentic as possible. Great channel for naval topics btw
  22. This. My first question when hearing about this price and potential MBS association was: how in the hell do you make a MBS set that is worth over 500$? Death star I can see for this price tag (both 1 and 2 or a combo) but not much else. I also don't think lego is comfortable with making anything for this price that isn't OT yet - Gunship sales data is still being collected for more potential prequel UCS set analysis and lego makes their plans for about a year in advance, so when they decided on this set, the gunship either started selling not too long ago or was about to be put on shelves - so this 500$+ set probably isn't influenced by gunship in any way. In my mind, this crosses any prequel stuff off the list. Even then, say it's Endor MBS, what do you include for 530$? AT-ST, the bunker (sizeable at that one), threes, foliage, a ton of minifigs, maybe a village like MaximillianRebo suggested... I still don't see 530$ but I'm keeping an open mind.
  23. In context of some parts of this thread this gif still seems relevant (Hi @Brickroll I've just figured out what your name & profile pic is ) - it has never stopped being relevant ever since more concrete info on the minifig packs started leaking Joking aside I'll wait for official information on the minifig packs. I never expected them to be anything special so the leaks don't impact me as some other people - certainly not enough to argue over it
