  1. I like Quidditch and might buy like a detailed £100 pitch, but I have to agree that a nearly $500 version is nearly as absurd as a $500 Azkaban.
  2. They do, I checked. So I'm tempted.
  3. Thanks, hope you had a great Christmas too! I really want the figures and the potions most of all, and I know it's going to cost me nearly as much if I just bought them. I like the set and think it looks great as a display but it's a lot of money when so much is coming this year. I will sleep on it and decide tomorrow. I wish double points were on and I'd be a lot more tempted.
  4. I'm thinking of buying Hogwarts Icons tomorrow with my Christmas money. Would anyone recommend it, or not?
  5. I hope that everyone who celebrates has a wonderful Christmas, and that everyone gets at least one thing from their Wishlist in the sets next year.
  6. We absolutely need a third (and more) CMFs. If Lego is wise then they will make them. HP is a beloved franchise with an audience that has been around for 25+ years and only continues to grow. People actually care about the characters and getting them in their different outfits. And young children love collecting them. Comparing HP to other franchises (that I'm not allowed to name) is like comparing a McDonalds burger to something from a fine cuisine restaurant. With obvious exceptions, the figures from sets simply do not compare to CMF-quality figures on a mass scale. And who would take 4 new molds a year when you could have 14? There are endless possibilities.
  7. @Otherworld Everytime I see your picture I die. I would just LOVE that figure. CoS Hermione was perfect appearance-wise for me and that figure really captures her. Is anyone else really sad they put back the sets? I was so looking forwards to buying and building them next week.
  8. [I'll ignore the personal insults as the moderator has addressed them, but know that I won't forget them] Here are the results: New figs: Hagrid without his overcoat, Sirius (OoTP) (x2), Death Eater (OoTP), Kreacher, Ernie Macmillan, Merperson, Rita Skeeter (x3), Ghost Lily & James, New female FB character, New molds: Fang (x2), Grindylow (x2), Ironbelly's head, slytherin's Locket, New broomstick, Shark Krum head, Werewolf head, Kreacher head, Rita's hair, Doe, New locations: Gryffindor Common Room, Umbridge's office, Shrieking Shack (x3), Grimmauld Place (x2), Ministry of Magic, Weasley tent, Forest of Dean, Ravenclaw Common Room, Magical Menagerie/Eeylop's Owl Emporium, I'm glad to see that we're all roughly on the same page. I really hope we get the Shrieking Shack and 2nd Task to round off PoA/GoF this year, and No.12 next year and at least a Forest of Dean set eventually; and I think a lot of us would be happy.
  9. I know, but I just want more. Imagine if we could get 10+ more molds on top of everything else we get, and some new dual-molded/printed figs. I wish we got a new series every year.
  10. So there won't be a CMF because they're making MarTrash instead.
  11. Ooh I want to change my answer to this! That would be a bigger troll than Icons. We shall name the author, because without the incredible genius that is JK Rowling there would be no Harry Potter and this thread would not exist - something the young actors who would be teaching drama at a secondary school if it wasn't for her should also remember. How ironic that she mentioned witch-burning in the backstory of HP, when she is facing a modern-day version. Trying to erase a woman's hand in her own creation for speaking up for women's and girl's (and same-sex attracted people's) rights is the definition of misogyny and proves her point beautifully.
  12. If you pause Philosopher's Stone, the second tier of Gringotts comes up to about the same height as the other shops (particularly Ollivanders + Magical Menagerie). So it would be about Ollivanders plus half a Ollivanders in height if they were going for scale. But WWW adds a spanner in the works as it's the tallest building in the set, so it might be a bit taller than 1+1/2 Ollivander's.
  13. Hope you're right. Or 2 - a cheap and a mid one. But no big spots!
  14. I would like some too, but that's what I mean - not at that price point. We haven't seen the third movie. Maybe they'll be Hogwarts themed? Or maybe there's some other big set pieces? I would like some but not at that price point. I would love Jacob's bakery and young Newt and Leta on the Hogwarts corridor with the baby Grindylow or beside Snape and Lily's tree.
  15. I have a horrible feeling 76406, 76407 and 76408 will be FB sets.
  16. If everyone could pick one new minifigure (could be a new variant or a completely new character), one new mold and one new location they wanted to see next year, what would it be? I think mine would be Hagrid without his overcoat, Fang and the Gryffindor Common Room.
  17. The only reason I'd want a new train is it could be our chance to get a Pygmy Puff haha. Dobby is my second favourite character after Hermione but I always find large models of him to look weird. I would love a Baby Yoda-size Dobby though.
  18. As much as love Diagon Alley and think it's glorious to look at on my shelf, I think the included buildings were very random choices - when I think of Diagon Alley I think of Gringotts, Ollivanders and Borgin & Burkes personally. So I can definitely see them making a second street add-on. The fact that they denied it threw me off, but I guess they always deny future sets.
  19. Imagine if it was a Hedwig sitting on a trunk. Each year they have made a larger Hedwig at a higher price, who's to say they're ready to break that tradition.
  20. I think we got less participation this year because 2020 had a CMF and DA. Last year there was some confusion with the prices, but I think it was just that the chess set would be the D2C.
  21. If they do a Durmstrang ship I really hope they keep it quite cheap because it's such a niche thing. I can see that being one of the retail exclusives. I don't want to pay over £60 for something that appears for a few seconds, but I still want it. I really want to see how they'll do the Second Task because of the amount of minifigs needed. I feel like that and the Shrieking Shack are extremely likely because they have been some of the most expensive sets on aftermarket that haven't been remade yet for some time. I think Buckbeak will be the creature. The +$10 increase is likely to include the moulded Buckbeak from Hagrid's hut as he's no longer on the market. Making it a retail exclusive means they'll have to produce less copies, too. I can see them making a giant Ron to match Harry and Hermione. Dumbledore seems most likely to join him, but because of the pieces needed for his hair and beard, Draco also seems likely as suggested by potterminifigpals.
