Probably more anniversary remakes but even worse builds. Well depends what Guyon actually knows, is it just set names or also description of sets or he even saw some pictures (I doubt)?

Exactly, thats why I am saying that august wave will determine this theme future. I dont really see other options than these two but maybe Guyon can prove me wrong

I thinks so. Because we either get one more anniversary wave or theme will return back to its standart but without DH sets.

So now we can wait for august wave set names which will pretty much show us where this theme is going.

Yes but the build remains the same. The only things that will change are prints/stickers, maybe some colors and minifigs.

I know some of you like these sets and I respect that but you know what is most crazy thing about this? That many people outside Eurobricks on fb or ig think these are fake or just mocs... and if so many people think that, you know something went wrong with these sets.

I wouldnt say it better. Honestly the more I look at these Hogwarts sets the more I think that I will skip them and just buy exclusive minifigures and Basilisk from BL. My original plan was to buy these sets anyway, rebuild some stuff, use 2018 Great Hall instead and swap green roofs for dark grey but now when I see how poor the builds are I am like meh. I am afraid that I will have to wait like a year until BL prices for minifigures from Hogwarts castle drop as its $139.99 set so I expect they will be expansive separately. I am definetely getting Hogsmeade set tho because that one really shines next to these new Hogwarts sets.

What I really like about 2018-2020 sets is their incredible movie accuracy. I am really critical about it because for me its very important thing. If I was little boy I would explode with happiness looking at this new wave but now as an adult when I got used to how detailed and movie accurate previous sets were I am a bit sad. Maybe I should accept that Lego is mainly a toy and if I want detailed movie accurate sets only for display, there are ideas set, ucs sets, and some other D2C sets. But for me 2018-2020 achieved something which other licenced themes struggled with and that is making sets appealing to adult collectors while being great for kids as a playsets... and I will truly miss this if Lego HP dont return to this kind of sets.

I dont think so as “lower your expectations” and “you will be shocked” was meant for august wave...

Yes the shape of it looks like bird but the horns and good print make it more accurate.

Yeah I like it. The mould for the head works quite well, build is decent... I mean yes obviously it could be better but for me its like 8/10.

Unpopular opinion but I really like Hungarian Horntail from 2019 and I dont think there is need to remake it. Save new dragon mould for Ironbelly in Gringotts... well if there will be any Gringotts in the future

Fantastic Beasts sets were less popular (by far) than HP sets, thats why Lego made only a few of them so dont expect them to return any time sooner than 3rd movie comes. Even then I think we get only like 2-3 sets.

I think the main problem of these sets (except Hogsmeade) is that they tried to look more like 2001-2010 sets than look like source material from movies and thats why they look so cheap compared to 2018-2020 which on the other hand are the most movie accurate and detailed HP sets so far. But we have been kinda warned because thats literaly what anniversary set means.... More like 3 months since these are from june wave

I am a bit scared that this theme arent gonna return to 2018-2020 build quality and accuracy and starts to make cheap looking builds like this. I hope I am wrong...

Yeah we still dont know how the new minifigs will look like. So those might save this wave.

So august wave will be anniversary one as well? Can you confirm at least that?

I am thinking of either skipping these Hogwarts sets and buying just new minifigs and Basilisk from BL or buying them and using most of it as parts for my Hogwarts layout. Hogsmeade is different story, it looks like its made by different Lego designer and it will be first set I am gonna buy from these.

Also even 2018 Great Staircase Tower looked more accurate than this anniversary one which look completely random

I think its the area which connect west and east wing of the castle but hard to tell as neither of these new buildings looks very accurate.

But builds are final right?

I mean year the new great hall looks like 2018, but the rest of the build can be used for my layout.

Builds are final versions but minifigures arent right? Bcs all minifigures look to have old jumper torso and Dumbledore in Great Hall look like reuse of Clovk Tower Dumbledore. Please someone tell me that these minifigures are just provisional.
