  1. Hot Rod Van [mod] Second car of the Road Show. Heavily inspired by 42098 B model sub-model van.
  2. Hot Rod [mod] The idea was making a smaller version of the 42093 B model, to make it match the Mack scale. At last it was a complete redesign of the front, the back and the passenger compartment, which is now more narrow - like real Hot Rods usually are. Steering works via spare wheel.
  3. US Tow Truck [mod] This truck is heavily inspired by Tim's American Tow Truck, which is an amazing alt of Lego 420108 and which was an excellent base for my version. You can find Tim's truck here: My own version reuses parts of the front fenders, the cabin and the boom. The compartments in the back and the chassis are MOC. The chassis is really stiff because of angled beams. The boom and the tow fork are able to lift even the front-heavy Mack. https://i.imgur.com/1X9ogCI.gifv Now it is waiting for its brother 42128.
  4. Thank you very much. The set is really good for getting in touch with a simple and easy to understand Lego gearbox. It is sturdy enough for being played by kids. And... it's a mixer truck, finally :) American School Bus [MOC] I always wanted to build one, then 42108 came in handy. Almost all the yellow parts are taken from this set. The three studs in the frame in the "forehead" can be used to add plates with text.
  5. Mixer Truck [mod of 42112] Americanized to make it fit into my truck line-up. Main changes to official model: three axle configuration a nose - obviously :) added 1 stud to the distance between rear axles For playing i use coffee beans. They have the perfect size, are cheap and spread a fantastic smell.
  6. In this thread I will show you the vehicles inside my LEGO Technic garage. There are official models, MOCs and modded alts by other designers. Some of the sets I bought just because of a promising alt. Most of my MOCs and mods are made of the leftover parts I had at that time. I did not order any loose parts, all my parts are parts of the sets I have bought. All the vehicles share the Mack scale (more or less, as the Mack scale is a compromise by itself), some had to be scaled down to make them fit. So far all the vehicles in my garage are operated manually. Here is the list... Semi Trucks and Trailers: Mack Anthem [42078 A sub-model tractor unit] Kenworth K100 [MOC] Flatbed Trailer [MOC, alt of 42078 A sub-model trailer and container] Trucks and Busses: Mack LR Garbage Truck [42078 B] Mack Granite Snow Plow [alt of 42078 by M-longer] US Tow Truck [mod of 42108 alt American Tow Truck by timtimgo] Rollback Truck [mod of 42098 alt Model C by LoMaC] Mixer Truck [mod of 42112] US School Bus [MOC] First Responder Wrecker [mod of 42075 A] MAN TGS Tipper [mod of 42098 MAN TGX Dump Truck by technicprojects] Race Truck [mod of 42093 alt Volvo Race Truck by Grohl] Road Show: Hot Rod [mod of 42093 B] Hot Rod Van [mod af 42098 B] Red Shark [MOC] Off-Road: Baja Trophy Truck [MOC] Escape Buggy [MOC] Police Buggy [MOC] Other: Telehandler [MOC] Forkliift [42079 A] Snow Groomer [alt of 42098 by Tomik] Lawn Tractor [alt of 42102 by 13neat8] Ultralight Helicopter [42057 A] Police Dinghy [MOC] I will add posts for showing most of these vehicles one by one. If you have a favorite you want to see next or if you want additional pictures of one I already have posted, just let me know by posting your request. Kenworth K100 [MOC] It started as a replacement cabin for my Rollback Truck, which I wanted to look more badass. But then I found enough parts to create a standalone Semi-Truck. Of course it is compatible to the Mack and its trailers. It is the latest addition to my garage so far.
  7. That logo... does it say "TLG"? I mean like... "The Lego Group"?
  8. I took your truck as base for a heavily modded own version. Still some parts are recognizable as taken from your truck, like front fenders, parts of the cabin and parts of the crane. Are you okay if I show my truck in detail in an own thread if I add a link to your truck?
  9. I use this, made of common parts. It's small, heavy enough to unroll by its own weight and the wire as well as the hook are centered. https://i.imgur.com/a9DHZaF.jpg https://i.imgur.com/GDSrx0X.jpg
  10. That's a pity. All the trucks in my garage have 42078's spread (42078 A and B, M-Longer's Granite snow plow, ...). I even modded 42112 to make it fit into the line-up. I hope my OCD is fine with the look just because of the huge amount of rear axles.
  11. Do you know if the wheelbase between the rear axles will be the same as in 42087 or the shorter variant as in 42112?
  12. Yeah, that's why the Corvette fits better to 42098 than to 42078, even though it's still a bit too large.
  13. It's a heavy duty tow truck, so you should use it to tow other trucks like the Mack, which is also 15 studs wide - or the 42112 mixer, if you dont mind the discrepany between European and American design.
  14. Here's a pic of my latest MOCs and mods. As imho LEGO 42078 Mack was the re-invention of the model team and was my personal entry to LEGO Technic, I am addicted to the Mack scale and every truck of mine has to be 15 studs wide, manually controlled and safe to be played by my kids. The cab of the red rollback truck is based on LoMaC's https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-33419/LoMaC/42098-model-c/#details, the rollback and the chassis are MOC. I changed LoMaC's front bumper design to more American looking flat bumper. The blue mixer is a mod of LEGO 42112, obviously, but americanized to make it fit into my truck line-up. The yellow wrecker is based on timtimgo's https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-43434/timtimgo/42108-american-tow-truck-alternate-build/#details, it shares the fenders and parts of the cab, the sleeper and the crane. It has 4 compartments that can be filled with 4x2 sized stuff. The front looks like a mix of Kenworth, Pete, Freightliner and Western Star. Fun fact: I finished it just before i read the rumors about the upcoming https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/182487-42128-american-tow-truck/ The red COE is supposed to look Kenworth K100-ish and is a WIP. It is build from scratch. Since it is made of spares that are running out, it might take a few more weeks to finish. It pulls a classic American spread axle trailer which i created as an alt to the Mack trailer. All of the trucks are operated manually and have an inline fake engine under an openable hood (or tiltable cabin) coupled to one or two differentials - and you can open the doors :) I will start a thread to show you my complete garage soon.
