  1. But TLG should go full Model Team/Creator with this then. Ditch the electronics and have manually operated LAs. Then build the entire machine with bricks not liftarms and panels Looks MUCH better and will be played with just as much by those +18 buyers anyway
  2. Technics prime was last millenia. The first two decades was all about advancement Now it's +18 black boxes and non-functionel broken-china supa cars, yeah baby
  3. Speaking of 42028 .. Are there other dozers that use a top sprocket? If not CAT could take TLG to court over that set
  4. OMG! How could TLG mess this one up, the most advanced (cr)app powered ladder in the world Darnit, i'm not gonna buy this set afterall Oh, I see now. Thanx
  5. It may be, looks generic to me though. But it was advertised as JCB But at least the ladder is perfect!
  6. Not sure if all those are generic enough to avoid licensing? Never heard anyone call a backhoe a JCB (or a dozer a CAT etc)
  7. That is just retarded It was the first PF set, right? Those were more innocent days, heck way back then the 8862 was actually advertised as a JCB but I very much doubt an actual license was involved
  8. There is zero point in this license. Ditch the fake top sprocket and it's just a generic dozer. That would probably shave 100EUR of the price right there
  9. And they're not actually touching the tracks so there won't be much wear
  10. TLG couldn't be bothered to re-colour those yellow? So the two things that are iconic D11 features, the top driven sprocket and the all yellow paint is not included in this model? Was the license a blank piece of paper? Heck, I have CAT socks that are more inline with D11 than this doozer
  11. The best tracks are the old bb76s. i use these with 1x8 tiles and 21t gears
  12. Yes, those connections do look fragile and amateurish But still, it is the most advanced ladder TLG have made to date, that's gotta count for something right?
  13. But it has a beautifully geared C+ plus ladder, a number one feature found on most AFOLs wishlists
  14. That's the designer's choice. While the motors may be big, there could be a (geared) drivetrain and the gearbox could be moved around. Obviosly the designer did not think that the one thing that really sets CAT doxers apart from the rest, the driven elevated sprockets, were important at all And that is not cool. But since CAT have gone all Ferrari/HD on the merch side I guess they don't care either
  15. The real one is driven from the top sprockets, no? Isn't that like a CAT hallmark? How does that fly with CAT? It would be like a 2WD Ford F150, no way that's gonna happen
  16. Hint? Huw flat out states it's got four motors and one hub But apparantly it can walk so that's why it's so expensive
  17. You can fly from several major US hubs directly to Billund (NYC, LAX, Miami, LV & SF) When in Billund just use the local busses. Renting a car is stupid expensive in Denmark and Billund is smaller than an average Wallmart anyway Well, I too have never been you and I doubt you'll find many others that have experienced you as you self have. I guess you'd need a real life version of "Being John Malkovich" for that sorta thing
  18. And I can understand the complaining if this was a 4" Kenner figure, but this is LEGO. Don't like it? Build something better yourself. Don't have the skills? Just wait for someone to do it "better" and download/buy the instructions
  19. I just thinks he means whatever official number TLG uses so he can order them from TLG? Nothing nefarious Anyway, it's just rather standard silicone 4mm tubing that can be found from other vendors in 100m rolls rather cheaply (TLG does in fact not manufacture it for their own sets) That's what I use ('cept when making vintage CS, I use the old rubber ones) Cheers, Ole
  20. But no matter how she looks there's going to be tons of complaining ..
  21. Has TLG made a public statement saying so? TLG has not put such a part in any set yet because they have no need to. I'm positive that such a part have allready been designed/modelled though and will turn up if needed. TLG is not in the part business to satisfy MOC'ers
  22. Correct. That and black boxes. Can't have grownups getting embarrassed at the checkout line with kiddie toy, can we LEGO is "cool" now. That's the segment they're going after. They allready got the kids and the AFOLs
  23. It would be cool to see the model with the valves in this size as well
