  1. Do you mean the older technic treads? That would take many more then I have. I think the track is good it's just the drive and return rollers are to small. It's the best I could do with what I had. I tried using the common turn table and some large plates to cover, it looked good but it wouldn't be drivable.
  2. I built a updated UT-90, making the cab more like the U20, It uses 58 links per side. It not exactly like the unitrac due to the drive wheels are to small. Its close to the 8110, may need to be longer.
  3. I have added a hitch, I set the height to match the 8284 trailers. Just a simple affair.
  4. No building instructions. The blades were off a balloon set from bit ago The wheels are just the standard city tyres I built it a bit ago, primitive but it works.
  5. Yes, Its based off the U404, an older small unimog, but compatible with the 8110. The mount points are only 2 studs lower. PTO is in same position too.
  6. 3 point hitch adapter v2 @ Sama: I like more piccies of the protos too, some up close ones would be great
  7. Thanks, few catches, It was placed based on clearing the crane, any further back and it would hit, only 2 IR rec. I looked at a gradall http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=438469 I think he use the wheels to balance it
  8. I have a pneumatic one built right now similar to that. I need to adapt it to 8110 scale, it's based off a Lego backhoe design but slew is by PTO. I built it for Technic tractor scale before I knew how big the 8110 was. I have a bunch of trailers to convert still. I went with the other design so it would be full self contained and hands off save the out riggers.
  9. I need to make a larger base and have wheels to spread out the weight, the turntable is just to small. I may make a second attempt after the holidays, I'll just have to share the IR rec. with another model. Out riggers do help.
  10. It would tip the whole truck when it was at 90 deg to the truck frame. Even with outriggers. It probably needed a bigger base. Also it was self contained, IR controlled it all. The battery box acted as a counter weight.
  11. My failed attempt at a backhoe Too heavy
  12. Nope, I do a Lego train display locally, so I had to redirect my efforts to that. Once it's done it's back to my Mogs
  13. This was my entry, based off the UT-90 concept. I used the U20 cab design IR drive, PTO, 1 aux connection Compressor 8110 compatible attachment points (they sit 2 bricks lower then 8110) Bed dump (but not with the winch attached) uses LA driven by PTO drive train needs a bit of work still
  14. My current MOD I lengthen it by 8 stud, 4 middle 2 each end. Added a center PTO, compressor and center PTO are switched separately. Added PPTO center, moved front PPTO to other side, and added an air tank Dumping bed Pictured in the bed is a 3 point hitch attachment Moved the arm to a center mount, can be removed. had to adjust it to get it to fit in a smaller space. I still need to make outriggers. Still tweaking stuff. I had played with having the pneumatic switched on the UNIMOG instead of the attachments, but I didn't like the look of the row of switches, I had set up 3 for the front and 2 in the back.
  15. My layout is a L shape, the main portion is 40" X 90". Connected in line to it is a 20" X 50" land and on the side of that is a 10" X 40" water area. On the bottom of the L is a 65" X 30".
  16. I build town to make my own bit of Germany. I spent about 3 yrs there and enjoyed it greatly. I normally go for industrial rail with a harbor. I recently expanded the train table and now also have a urban area also. I have also done 1850 generic using the soldiers for a army post. I seem to make a radical change every year. So far it's been flipping between 1850 and modern times. I also enjoy doing the research for it. An old model RR catalog I have from Germany helps the search for information greatly.
  17. I have converted almost all of my storage to these http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...uct_id=11014789 I use diffrent sizes based on need. I sort by colour and then based on how much I have and use of that I separate the 1X plates and 2X plates out. I also have a few multi compartment containers for special parts, like tiles and transparents. So far it works and stacks well.
  18. You could have troops in the field, arty dug in. Some formations. A small town will eat up space too.
  19. Wow this is great. I can't wait to get one, wish it was sooner. My girls will have a ball with it.
  20. Signed, I'd like to get this set.
  21. As said befor: Mortars 12lb Napoleons Bayonet Globes Some different boxes would be nice. Like a limber ammo box, which could use the treasure chest bottom with a flat top. Bulk sail material, which could be used for sails, wagon covers, tents. In striped and over variations. Hand Saws Two handed saws More later
  22. I noticed that too when I open it up. I grabbed one of my other troops and compared the two. I was a bit disappointed but I guess that's how they brought the price down. I don't plan to get more and the ones I have will blend in with the rest.
