  1. What I would like to see: Different artillery pieces Some wagons, cargo and passenger type Ships both merchant and war Modular fort parts
  2. If its cheaper then Soldier's Arsenal I'll use it for army building other wise its one troop at a time. I only use the troops so the pirates will be a loss. It beats out the proposed battle pack, now if we could only get a greater selection of artillery pieces.
  3. I have 16 red coats only 1 with black buttons
  4. Yes there is a ship, but it just bare bones.
  5. It's back under construction. After some time in the present the train table is back to the 1800's. Its still just a few days old. I'm going for the 1833 - 1850 time frame but I'll include up to the 1899's. Won't have much time till April to do more. My goal is to get enough done to display it in the local library in December. I did a display this last year and it went over very well.
  6. I have six, but I changed them a bit to fit in with the army. Their my engineers.
  7. I'm hoping for battle packs too. I'g go with five troops and like others said with parts to make one a officer or a admiral if wanted. This way I could build companies without so many officers. For a arty battle pack I like 3 cannon and 3 limber and accessories. I'd leave out the horses and troops to keep the price down. Plus you could use the troop battle pack for the red legs any way.
  8. I have 3 daughters (1@3 and 2@4) for almost a year now I let them play with my legos, they were just about out of the "I see it it goes in my mouth" stage. I have a small L gauge layout so I keep some out of reach. MOC on the edge get rebuilt ever few days. They are getting better at using the different bricks. Mostly I bring out the draws with the minifigs and wheels, and a few car models. I also run the train. I have found at this age after a few hours we have to go back down stairs. They do have Duplo of their own down stairs. I only have a few rules no dumping, no eating and the bricks can not leave the room (wife).
  9. Thanks. The blue bow peice made it a bit tricky, but it worked out.
  10. Heres my go. Brickshelf Gallery An inspection vessel used at Aberbrick for checking merchants. I'm not 100% happy with it but time is short. It has no cannons currently, though I have considered adding 2 swivel guns. I still dont have a name for it yet.
  11. The maps are great. I was wondering though, are there any plans to create larger maps say 4X4 or even 6X6?
  12. I'd definitly go for new rifles and pistols, also some period tools, like saws(large two handers), surveying equipment, telescopes. Now for artillery how about a 3-inch ordnance rifle. It would be smaller then the Lego cannon. ordnance rifle an others And maybe cannon accessories. Other nice to have: Steam whistle for steam trains
  13. I voted port / town. I'd also like a few diffrent cannon.
  14. Updated first post with current state of MOC
  15. Ah you mean Aberbrick I'm going to update too
  16. I give it a 4, only because there are no pirates. I aways loved this set, nice little fortifaction. Lots of details. I only wish I could have worked it in Aberbrick.
  17. I started in lego in the early 80's I was starting to fade abit when the line came out. I just loved the theme, my first set was CC, I built and rebuilt it till I drove my Grandmother nuts. Then TNT remade Tresure Island which just sealed the deal. The Soldier sets are the only series I collected all of. I got a few little pirate sets, but notheing of significans. I mostly just build, but with the Pirates I would play mock battles. I actually kept all of the set built even when I moved away from regular building. I just loved the look of the sets. I never really had dark ages, just dimmed every so often. I eventually started doing L gage(wifes faults :)). I never realy found point in time or location I was happy with for the trains. I also tried to intergrate the castle and pirate stuff. On the last attempt it more or less took over. Starting with just a 4 base plate square to fill space it grew. With a bit of research I found a time where the pirate theme bricks could coexsist with trains. It also compliments my love of artillery and military (I was a redleg). I have now started building an army, finally got extra parts to make the CC larger. Now I just have to wait for my girls to get older and start having some battles.

    Artillery

Thanks for all the comments Yea the tires on the 200lb Parrott leave a bit to be desired.

    Artillery

I have been working on making diffrent artillery pieces. I finally found a use for the small wide slick tires. :) 12lb'er generic, nothing special Parrott rifle, 30 and 200 lb types And Carronade I have a larger carronade, I just keep forgetting to photograph it Artillery folder
  20. and its tied again :) There both great so I when with the New York option :)
  21. Nope, it will never be done, there will always be a tweek, or some change. I listed some projects in an earlier post. That list will probly grow and shrink.
  22. hehe, Not quite, the multi brick horses are copied off the early lego horses. The name is a legoization of "Aberdeen Proving Ground" Basicly a area for testing weapons, The advantage is I can make all sorts of period and developmental weapons without needing to justify there exsistance. I like thing to fit somewhat. Aberdeen Proving Ground
  23. They grey ship was junk day freebe, just about complete #6493, built once. I have no idea what I plan to do with it. :) Just that it will be a merchent. I the table is as big as I can go, 40" x about 9' give or take. For modern time its a bit small, but for 1850 its not to bad. The smaller rolling stock goes well with less space. It will never realy be finished as there always some little bit that needs doing. I have a couple of tables (36"x30" and 15"x40") and in the rooms closet I was looking to use for a small L gauge switching layout but I have a idea to use foam to make a battle field, but I need to get more troops and more done on the main table
  24. I spent a bit of time choosing the time, I'm a model railroader so I wanted to keep the trains. I try to not let it get to modern. The trains are based on the early 1800's, the green engine should have a driver twice its current size. When I checked pirate history in the Caribean just didn't last long enough. I finally settled on 1850 as the best time frame, the only catch was the tricorne didn't make it. I figured it wasn't as a big rewrite as steam trains in the 1720's, could happen but didn't. It actually started as a 20" x 20" fortress on a modern L gauge layout. It grew from there :)
  25. Thank you all for the comments. Yes I plan to build and rebuild and rebuild. General projects are -traction engines: 2 so far, 1 hauls a seige cannon -fire equipment: I have a horse drawn pumper, 1 hand drawn ladder and a small hand drawn pumper -trains -ships: working on a ironclad, a small merchant and a brig-like ship -arty: I would like to create a full btry of FA, 6 guns, forge, btry wagon, etc. -weapons: lesser know weapons of the time frame, ie rockets, I have some congreve rockets, need to make some hale As far as the tricornes go, yea they didn't make it that far, thats one of the timeline changes I made. In my history they stayed. :) Another change/hipup in time I'm considering is steam trucks(lorries) most photos online seem to date 1908 or later. I expect there were some protos in the late 1800.
