  1. I really like the timber you created for the flat wagon! Gonna borrow that design :)
  2. Found this neat city MOC featuring a train.
  3. Very nice! I really like the flowers for knobs in the cab. I'm going to borrow that idea! It's begging for some custom decals now. I just used OKBrickworks for my American 4-4-0 and they turned out great. What's LNER stand for? PS- the video links didn't work for me.
  4. Thanks all! She definitely runs, click the link in my first post for more details and a video. The tender holds the battery and receiver and the PF train motor is under the locomotive. The cars are 6+ wide and the locomotive and tender 8+ wide. The decals are cut vinyl letters from okbrickworks. Which passenger coach does everyone like more?
  5. After I created my 4-4-0 American loco, I set about designing some rolling stock. So far I have designed and built two passenger cars and a caboose. I'm probably going to work on a baggage or combination car next. Which of the two passenger cars do you like more (just the windows are different, both have seven rows of seats inside)? Below are some pics and also a link to my brick shelf where you can download the LDD file for each. Feel free to borrow, make or modify my design. Hope you like! https://bricksafe.com/pages/sed6
  6. I like!
  7. No PAB for me, except what's on the wall at my local store. Bricklink is my go to for buying Lego for my MOC's, I have over 100 orders in the last 15 months!
  8. That was my first thought too. This is really neat work!
  9. This sounds like a good tip. I'm gonna give it a try.
  10. I can imagine some cute MOCs with a short train running in a circle around some nice scenery in middle. Maybe a Christmas train running around a Christmas tree, or a western theme with some buildings. Kind of like some of the pizza box themes you see in other model railroading scales.
  11. Great story! Your loco looks right at home on that layout. Very well done!
  12. Looks like a great idea! I can see lots of good uses for it. In my 4 custom locos the battery box is an integral parts of the structure. I do not fasten the two screws on bottom that fasten the case to the innards. When I change batteries the battery box stays fixed in place and I just slide out the 6 cells and their carrier. This could shrink some 6 wide builds down to just 5 wide (the box plus a tile on each side equaling 5 in my mind). Think I'll order one to play with. Edit, ordered. About $10.50 shipped. Worth a try.
  13. Nice work! You should put it on the Bricklink Store.
  14. Nice work, thanks for the close ups!
  15. There is a similar thread here you might find of interest. Your paper looks very complete. I bet you'll find some good reading here.
  16. This is a very neat design. Looks well thought out and constructed. My only concern, what if you tried to decouple maybe only the one last car instead of all of them. Then you have the locomotive pulling on two cars with the third being held stationary, the couplers with the weakest magnetic bond will be the ones to separate, which won't necessarily be the one you're trying to actually decouple.
  17. Well, hot on the heels of @Asper, I am displaying my monorail at a train show this weekend, today and tomorrow. Here's video of it running. It ran all day today, about 8 hours without any problems. I lost track of the number of times I heard "look it's a monorail". Over and over i heard lots of great comments about it. I heard one grandfather tell his grandson, next year when we go to Disney World we'll see one of those. I'm really happy I took the time to set it up and display it.
  18. Wow! That's great! They look good running. Do you have an overall view that shows your whole layout?
  19. This is great to know! I'll certainly get his 2nd edition as I did his first. I'm excited to see what art he chooses for the cover. It seems like an honor to be asked to write the foreword, good for you!
  20. Nice work! I like the use of train wheels on top for the fans. Also like the side railings.
  21. Had the family over for Thanksgiving today and the kids had lots of fun running and wrecking my trains! Head on collisions, side on collisions, knocking the monorail off the rail, you name it! They were flipping switches everytime I took my eyes off them. Once everyone left I got them all put back together and lined up for a family picture.
  22. Hello! Welcome! Thanks for joining Eurobricks and saying hello in this thread. You have probably noticed that your great monorail work is admired by a lot of people in this thread. Please feel free to show us any new or existing projects you're working on. I like the monorail wash station in your picture.
  23. I did try to add a few interesting things to look at. Some workers, bumpers on each siding, a hand cart and some signal lights. The end of line bumpers work pretty well and I'm quite happy with how they turned out. The signal lights I just ideas from others I saw online. While they look good, they get in the way and knocked over frequently so usually they just stay on a sliding. Speaking of sidings, they could be a good place for additional scenery...
  24. Thanks! Perhaps. Scenery is tough because there's so little room left and some of my stock has large overhangs.
  25. Here's an updated video. Hope you like!
