Thank you! Many people make more realistic looking Birch trees, but this works for me 😂

I've started a small series of builds inspired by the Warhammer characters Gotrek and Felix. This is my latest build, hope you'll like. Gotrek and Felix had marched through the swamps for days, hardly seeing any people on their way. Supplies had begun to run low and Gotrek had gone from being passive aggressive as he used to, to being downright hostile. Felix was used to hearing about the inferiority of manlings from his dwarven companion, but Gotrek - in his rage, had begun cursing the interity of the human race for their poor lands, roads and especially their poor ale. Just as Felix started fearing that Gotrek might curse Sigmar himself, the birches gave way to slightly more open terrain. A small river marked the state-border between Hochland and Ostland. A little further downriver a sturdy bridge led across the river, guarded by a fortified border checkpoint. As the duo came closer, they saw the signs that a fight had recently taken place here. A bunch of leather and metal scraps lay scattered on the ground, amongst them were a few limbs that bore strange mutations like extra fingers or hook-like growths. Just as they were about to walk across the bridge, the lid of a large barrel flew open and an elderly man jumped forth from within. "Stay back mutants!"

Brethren! We have tried our best and had our most knowledgeable experts assess the situation, but despite their efforts the situation remains dire. The dark masters crack their whips. Little time remains to build worthy masterpieces! Hurry.. My entry for the 2021 Brickscalibur 12x12 Vignette category. Hope you like it Link to Flickr album: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjzwZge

Great as always! The build does in many ways look very western European but the window arches just give it that slightly eastern/exotic feel. Great color choices and great techniques applied

Thank you!

This is great! A great mix of detail and actual playability. You sir have been supported Also.. would you consider adopting a grown man?

Lovely, beautiful MOC! You are really capturing the the classic medieval fairy tale vibes. The angled bridge gives a nice twist. The combined photo looks amazing, makes the scale look more natural. I had the same problem with a recent MOC, I made most roofs out of regular roof tiles but wanted a hole in the blacksmiths roof (ended up doing a cheese-slope roof). I like to explain it as a difference of quality, the kings watchtower should in theory have a higher quality roof than a civilian building (a windmill is a bad example, but that's a whole other discussion). I do see the personal taste element though, custom built roofs do have a lot of texture and personality that regular roof tiles don't achieve.

That could look really good, do post an updated version please

Amazing! Such an eye for detail without it being too cluttered. The layout feels very organic. Nothing but praises.. well except the horned helmets, but that's on LEGO

Not a big fan of the nexo knight shields (maybe it would be better with other prints, the ones on the tower are fine). That being said I think this is great, would love to see this as an official LEGO set! Overall good job, supported!

Thank you! Thank you! That was sort of what I was going for, but the front-view of the castle does lack something because of the buildings in front.
-
Thanks! I just wanted them to have mustaches, but I do see the resemblance
-
Thanks! In retrospect I do think that the 'village' layout does take something away from the front-view, but I wanted to keep everything on a 48x48 baseplate Thanks! I always try to incorporate some fun elements to my builds, glad you enjoyed it, maybe it's time for some darker stuff in the future

My entry for Brickscalibur 2021 - Rogues and Outlaws category. Hello everyone! Third MOC in the series of little Sarophas. This time arriving at Ravnsborg Castle, the stronghold of the Baroness and her henchmen. Far to long, these thugs have been taxing the local villagers to the breaking point, only to fill their coffers with their hard earned money, but no more! Heinrich and the Hatted Huntsmen are scaling the tower walls to gain access to the castle, in an attempt to 'liberate' the Baroness' treasure hoard. Looks great! So many lovely details and color choices One question though, which brick did you use for the smoke? Don't think I've seen it before.

Usually I'm not that much of a micro-scale fan, but I think that this is one is amazing. It's slightly larger and thus more detailed than most micro-scale builds. I really think you nailed the different textures, colors and scales. Really good job

Ah yes the LBG-hole, no matter how many you buy, you always end up needing more I have no idea how this would fit with your overall ideas/plans, but maybe instead of having a dedicated building for the chapel, it could be integrated into one of the larger buildings, like the living quarters for the lord? So it's basically just a room with chapel interior. This is the case for Sønderborg Castle's chapel, it's in a later style, but the point remains. (just using that one because I used to live in the city ) Maybe having big stained glass windows or something to distinguish it a bit from the rest could help? -
Man I wish LEGO would revisit the classics and remaster them with all the new bricks/techniques available today, this really shows how great they could turn out! Really good job on both castles

Very much worth it, I'd say! The detail and the techniques used are great, there is a great level of depth and realism that just looks stunning. So much respect to the designer, but also to you for making it come to life -

It's looking great! The battlement turned out amazing, especially the detail on the woodwork makes it look more realistic Also the area underneath is very well done (I'm talking about the parapet) the way that it is just slightly protruding gives it a great effect imo. Always a pleasure to see this project updated, now I feel like building something huge and impressive like this.. although my brick supply might disagree
