  1. To be fair, I can completely see where you’re coming from. Unfortunately I think that as a general rule of thumb, we’ve now learned not to get too excited when it comes to winter (actually, given the weird release schedule, let’s just say pre-summer) LSW lineups. Summer will be where the really new stuff will shine. That said, I think both TBoBF sets will pleasantly surprise us when we see them. So, it seems a given that we’ll be getting sets for Kenobi, Andor, and potentially Bad Batch S2 next summer. If they reflect how strong this year’s summer wave was, then we’ve a lot to look forward to!
  2. I highly doubt that the new face prints will stay price-locked behind an $800 set, why would Lego do that? If they represent specialised character variants then sure (and even with that, Lego often play fast and loose), but these are just general use prints at the end of the day. The 2022 Snowtrooper BP will have similarly diverse heads I’m sure.
  3. The GBP price point for the AT-AT has left me severely miffed, though that’s all I have to say on the matter. Still a day one purchase for me. I can’t help but gush over just how much this set gets right. The scale, minifigure compatibility, sleekness, and the sheer detail are riveting. This might be an adult-oriented display model, but I can’t imagine people won’t be playing with this thing every chance they get, I know I will! My opinion on Lego Star Wars as a theme is a complex one, but this model bursts with enthusiasm, creativity, and marvellous Lego engineering. It’ll be the first truly giant Lego set I buy, and whilst the £750(!) price tag isn’t easy to swallow, the set just seems worth every penny regardless, even moreso than the ISD and Falcon. Also loving the diverse range of face prints for the Imperials, they’re a nice subtle part of the set and I’m looking forward to seeing more. I have my fingers crossed for a truly revamped Snowspeeder next summer, Lego would be foolish not to offer one up now.
  4. Dude, this is awesome! Great way to make money. So the minifigure selection for Boba’s Palace seems fairly predictable to be honest, I’m sure the two unknown Bounty Hunters will make for some cool looking figures. Moreover, Lego really needs to fix up the Boba figure to differentiate him from his Mandalorian variant, though I’m confident they won’t. I can also see Fennec having a hairpiece this time round to maintain some individuality from the helmeted version in Moff Gideon’s Cruiser. Also, I’m really excited to see what the Palace model itself entails! Location builds with a heftier price tag always interest me.
  5. Watched Eternals last night and while I see why it might not be everyone’s cup of cosmic tea, I personally enjoyed it a great deal! Great experience watching this and Dune on two consecutive nights. I’m stunned by the overall accuracy and quality of these sets. I haven’t built them yet, but I own every set aside from the smallest and can’t wait to get started. This wave really is a testament to how great tie-in merchandise can be when studios are a little bit more transparent about what goes on in their movies and gives less of an impression of merchandise for the sake of merchandise. Hopefully the mythical NWH Spoiler wave will have this level of quality. Minor nitpick, but it would have been cool to get the power blast / special effects pieces in gold for this wave. Kingo’s finger guns were just ridiculously cool!
  6. All the best with selling your stuff! I did something similar over the year and sold off a bunch of opened and sealed sets to provide my Lego budget for the year, it’s become self sustaining I’m in the same boat that this AT-AT is the first truly massive UCS set that I simply have to buy, and it’s precisely because it’s minifigure-scaled. The ISD is cool but didn’t interest me, and the System scaled Falcon is enough for my taste, but this AT-AT is just something else! Does anyone have any idea what the U.K. price will entail? I know the American pride is supposedly $800 USD, so I’m suspecting the GBP price will remain at £650 in line with the Falcon and ISD. Luckily have an array of VIP points and gift cards to make a dent on the price. This would be the perfect time for Lego to release another Snowspeeder, but there’s nothing on the horizon? It’d be the perfect complement to the UCS AT-AT, Hoth AT-ST, and Snowtrooper Battle Pack. The Snowspeeder is in serious need of a revamped design, and it’s hilarious to think the last time Lego was able to have both an AT-AT and Snowspeeder on shelves was 2014!
  7. I’m so excited for this movie! For what it’s worth, the usual leakers in the usual place have clarified that all three sets are not 4+ We’re sure to get a healthy assortment of colourful, interesting minifigures and spaceship builds, can’t wait!
  8. Out of curiosity, how would you all improve the 2022 Batman wave? It feels like the sets are so close to perfection but miss the mark. I would’ve liked the following: 1) A new cowl and armour mould for Batman. He’d have a dual printed head - one side with black makeup on the eyes for the cowl, and another being a regular Bruce Wayne face. A healthy dose of arm printing and dual moulded legs too, make him a definitive mini figure like Lego have done with Beskar Mando! 2) Replace Penguin’s slicked back hairpiece with the balding headpiece, and maybe have a different face print. He looks too…wrinkly as he is. 3) Include a small side build in the Batmobile set, perhaps a stack of crates with some flame elements. 4) Replace Selina Kyle in the Batcave with one or more of the painted up goons Batman fights in the trailer. The wave is really lax on generic villain characters. Man, I hope Lego gets the opportunity to revisit the Battinson figure one day, it’s probably my favourite live-action depiction of the character.
  9. Haha, I feel you on this. I was initially reluctant to buy the ‘No Way Home’ wave on account of just waiting until we see what next year brings, but caved too. Crazy to think we’re only getting one set actually based on the film so far. The Drone Duel build is nice enough, but Lego really should have assigned the set a lower price point and just include Spidey and Vulture with the latter’s wing pack as the set’s build.
  10. The Batman figure is more lazy than anything else (and that’s not generally a word I throw around). Put 2022 Batman next to this year’s minfigure-scaled Tumbler Batman and the differences are so minimal in terms of their overall look. Ditto on the Batmobile, definitely my most anticipated set of the wave. That and the Batcave are Day 1 buys. My god, that trailer is all kinds of amazing. Giacchino’s new Batman theme is brilliant, and that end shot of the Patmobile ramming the Penguin’s car is gorgeous. Can’t wait for these sets to drop.
  11. If we do get those 2 NWH sets, they’ll at least scratch that itch from a minifigures perspective. I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited for a Marvel wave as I am for these Schrödinger’s spoiler sets. Just imagine if we can get another set on par with 2016’s Bridge Battle Makes me wonder what Lego will do to maintain some semblance of exclusivity for the 3 NWH-inspired sets that just released. Also, it’s fantastic that Wolverine is getting his cowl! The 2014 set was a hit or miss for many but I honestly thought it was a perfect little X-Men set for the time.
  12. Ha, fair point! In a sense, adding measly builds seems like a decent compromise if the focus of a Minifigure Pack is full-on army building to be honest, may as well strip out the typical dinky vehicle and add something that’s simple but relevant like a small turret. Said compromise falls apart when considering they’d ‘replace’ the old BP price-point, however. And I agree regarding the helmet mould issue, it really does feel random at times. Surely if Lego has come out with a new Stormtrooper helmet which doesn’t have any functional difference to the previous one (outside of limiting head movement) they can design a new P2 Clone one? It’s all conjecture for now anyway I suppose.
  13. All this discussion makes me wonder why Lego is introducing Minifigure Accessory Packs next year of all years. Given the price increase associated with the Hoth Imperial Trooper BP and Dark Trooper Not-a-BP, perhaps it’s because they want to introduce an easier way to mass build certain types of characters and factions whilst delegating the traditional BP slots for sure-sellers like the two above? Of course, these could just be cheap ways to acquire the most popular characters like Luke, C-3P0, and so on, but why go for that when such characters are already available within modestly priced sets? Contrast that to factions like different Clone Legions, Stormtroopers (both Imperial and First Order), and more, where the varieties are endless and would just clog up BP slots. On the topic of clone characters, it’s absurd to think that a single new helmet mould (and potentially another accessory bag like what we get with Mandalorians and P1 Clones) would be enough for Lego to make any major Clone character like Rex or Cody without breaking their budget. All they’d require are new prints after that. Also agree with those of you unhappy with the staggered release of the 1HY sets. It’s a shame the more interesting sets like Boba’s Palace and the dioramas are still quite far off.
  14. This year’s Imperial Shuttle Pilot is chuckling What update did that figure get, an updated uniform crease line or something? As far as Accessory Packs go, maybe they’ll at least be Clone Wars or Bad Batch themed? I wasn’t a big fan of the Bad Batch plot-wise, but the show itself is an excellent contemporary opportunity for Lego to release AT-TEs / Gunships / V-Wings / yada yada without bricking themselves at the Prequels = Unpopular spiel. But more importantly I suppose, the BB need villains to fight! As ‘unpopular’ as Prequel vehicles may be, I think they’re vastly more interesting in terms of design and geometry than most of the OT. One thing I’m not actively a fan of is this new approach towards Battle Packs. Same small piece and figure counts, but higher price points? I was hoping the Dark Trooper one would at least have a small vignette of the Arquitens corridor, but it seems it’ll just be including another vehicle.
  15. Nice work, looks quite elegant! Just bought the whole summer wave, one of the best and most varied Star Wars waves we’ve ever had. Now to hibernate until the AT-AT is revealed.
  16. Wow, that Dagobah Training set sounds phenomenal! A detailed and involved build is something to get very excited over, especially given the large size of the model. The Trash Compactor sounds okay, not the most interesting choice but you can see why Lego would spring for that. Kudos to Lego for finally overcoming their fear of adapting new media and assigning the first two TBoBF sets relatively high price points, guess they learned from the success of The Mandalorian. Not sure if I’m a fan of the staggered release schedule so far for next year, but at least it’ll give everyone’s wallets some breathing room. My only qualm with this wave (outside of under-representation for the Prequels) is the lack of more Bad Batch sets. Rex’s Y-Wing would be a dream come true, I just love the design, but alas it doesn’t seem to be a priority. I’m sure the summer wave is going to be something really special. Can’t imagine we won’t get substantial sets from Kenobi and Andor.
  17. You’ve partially answered your own question, DC offerings have been minimal this year and I’m sure people have been excited for 2022 to pick up the pace. To this wave’s credit, there aren’t any superfluous builds or ridiculous bat-vehicles this time round, everything is more or less movie accurate based on what we’ve seen from trailers and set photos, even if they’re drab in tone. Given the evidently low budget Lego assigned this wave (seriously, even the Keaton Batman gets a specialised cowl and he’s only in D2C sets ), I wonder if any other waves will go all out. The Flash film comes to mind, given how grand its scope seems to be.
  18. Fully agree. I’m sure there’ll be a big spoiler merchandise announcement following the second trailer releasing. Even if Lego have nothing to show before next summer, maybe there’ll at least be some sort of confirmation?
  19. I echo your sentiment. Now that the pictures have been out for a day, my overall opinion is ‘meh’. There are some nice highlights in this wave, but I was expecting so much more considering the anticipation regarding this film. It’s a shame how lazy the Batman minifigure itself comes across as.
  20. Whilst I desperately hope for more NWH sets, a single spoiler set in that price-range seems anti-climactic to be honest. Given the precedent for this price-point (i.e. 2-3 minifigures), how much can they really fit? Unless the two additional sets Fulcrum indicated are split between April and summer I guess.
  21. Looks like the release date is November 1st for those in the US, S@H has enabled pre-orders. As pointless as the smallest set now feels, I do appreciate the brick-built approach towards both motorcycles. But man, a new cowl and armour piece would have elevated that Batman figure. The same old cowl mould has been in use for so long now, and I can’t help feeling quite disappointed. Also, is that the Cedric Diggory face being used for Bruce Wayne? Smart It’s nice to get that additional head in every set.
  22. The builds are great! But would it have killed Lego to make a new cowl piece?
  23. Exactly We all know the day Cody makes his debut, Lego will want him to be in the priciest set they can get away with. I’m sure he’ll be the straw that breaks the camel’s back regarding Lego’s reluctance to revisit the P2 helmet mould with accessories. Interesting rumour about the Republic Fighter Tank. Whilst I can’t deny a set like this sounds appealing, I’m bemused at the prospect of Lego opting for something like this and not something from canon media. @Brickroll You have a point, except none of those sets required a new mould for the clone characters. If Lego do decide to tackle Cody, I’m sure they’ll introduce a new mould for it. Of course, they could just go the lazy route as per 2013 Rex and this year’s Crosshair and pretend standard helmets without attachments are passable, but Cody’s helmet is too distinct for them to do that I think.
  24. Do you guys think Patman* will get a new cowl piece? Both cowl moulds we currently have really don’t fit the new costume’s look. I’d love if we got a new shoulder armour piece as well given how armoured up this Batman is. Really excited to see these sets! *Pattinson Batman
  25. This would be a perfect way to include a pretty satisfying cast of characters. Elite Squad Troopers, regular clones, Rex etc. However, I can see Lego avoiding another tri-wing shuttle when we’ve already had the Havoc Marauder and Lambda-class Shuttle this year alone.
