  1. Has it been confirmed that license partners didn’t receive any spoiler material prior to NWH debuting? I suppose the lack of communication from companies like Hasbro and even Funko do back up the notion, but I was just curious as I’m still hoping there’ll be a big spoiler merchandise push in the coming months, perhaps after the film releases on home media. It’s funny to think things like style guides were created just to push pretty banal merchandise like clothing
  2. Moon Knight’s definitely one of my most highly anticipated D+ shows. I wonder how Lego is going to handle making sets or minifigures moving forward as the sheer amount of MCU media ramps up even further. One of the concept artists who worked on NWH recently shared some art of the villains that was used for style guides for merchandising. These would make for such amazing minifigures
  3. Tell me about it! Last year we got the list in January, but I remember 2020’s summer set list took ages to come out. I wonder if the potential presence of sets from this year’s new Disney+ content will keep the summer list hidden for longer. It’s also ridiculous to think we’re getting Boba’s Palace, Dark Trooper set, and new helmets in just over a month and a half. The Mandalorian and Dark Trooper helmets are going to be my first foray into the helmets sets.
  4. Another thing to consider is that Boba’s Palace / Throne Room needs a real hook in terms of minifigures. I’m assuming Boba will be updated as his TBoBF outfit is significantly different, Fennec is already available in Gideon’s Cruiser but could have a hairpiece this time, and two Gamorreans are of course most welcome, but I can see these two additional unknown minifigures being the real draw of the set. Like most of you I’d love for it to be the Bounty Hunter you’re all talking about because it’s just screaming for minifigure representation. I appreciate the fact that TBoBF is already getting two sets by June, frees up space for the summer wave!
  5. Out of all of this, not getting more NWH stuff for the foreseeable future is the most upsetting. The amount of justified hype behind the film has been tremendous, and it feels like a massively missed opportunity not to capitalise on merchandise outside of t-shirts and socks. But it makes sense, it looks like Sony and Marvel Studios were extremely minimalistic in what they revealed to licensing partners. Great for preserving surprise at cinemas but not so much for collectors!
  6. I suppose the rumour of additional NWH and Raimi sets were way too good to be true
  7. Pretty sure the IG Leakers said it was somewhere within the first half of this year
  8. Having Ronin in the upcoming accessory pack would be fantastic, I always thought the hood mould used for the Time Twins for Ninjago in 2017 would be perfect. I really hope What-If takes less prominence for Disney+ related sets and CMFs moving forward. Lots of cool ideas in the show but it clogged up quite a bit in terms of Lego content last year.
  9. Agreed! Now that the summer Ninjago set list has been released by Promobricks, hopefully this means lists for other themes will follow suit. The Bad Batch show was fine I felt, the premiere episode and some others were fantastic, but the rest of the show was quite bland in my opinion. More than anything, we need some bad guys for the Lego batchers to fight! On the topic of the art badge thing on all the Hoth-related set boxes, I wonder if we’ll get these for sets based on other films and shows too? Lego’s new box art style is so much better than what we’ve had since 2019!
  10. One of the biggest draws of the Bad Batch is the time period allows for Lego to give us Clone Wars vehicles without having to market them as vehicles from a show long finished. Not to mention an excuse for a Republic-era Y-Wing with Rex - a highly desirable character that has been requested for a long time. I am so excited to see the set names for this year’s summer / 2HY wave, it looks like a substantially bigger wave than what we got last summer. The Summer 2021 lineup felt like a much needed course correction for Lego Star Wars and I’m hopeful this summer wave will outdo that with a healthy mix of stuff from Kenobi, Andor, and Bad Batch. It was around this time last year that the Summer 2021 list leaked out. I wasn’t particularly impressed with Episode 1 of TBoBF, but the second episode has made me a believer! We better get a new Boba figure.
  11. I think he’s just referring to the fact that both sets of rumours (MCU CMF Series 2 and the Raimi sets) were initially released together a few weeks ago. If the CMFs are now ‘confirmed’, then it stands to reason that the Raimi sets probably do exist too.
  12. That rules out any more Spider-Man film sets until summer I guess (if they exist), bummer but nice to see DC getting some love after constantly getting the short end of the stick.
  13. It would be awesome if Lego included alternate heads + hair pieces for all three Spider-Men, the approach they’ve taken with the Batman film sets makes me hopeful this might happen. If the Maguire film set rumours are true, I can see Lego giving us two Green Goblin variants with the classic helmeted version in those, and the updated version in the flagship NWH set. Goblin’s attire during the climax of NWH was pure perfection, and I hope Lego give us something like the Miles / Gwen hood piece in purple, a small tattered purple cape, and the shoulder bag piece to really round off the look.
  14. Exactly, there’s inevitably going to be an explosion of merchandise very soon
  15. Whoa! If true, this news has absolutely made my day, I will remain sceptical but cautiously optimistic until we get concrete info. I always wondered if the March $100 set would be NWH-based, having the biggest set of the NWH wave just be the $40 Sanctum Workshop never made sense to me unless Lego were saving the big guns for 2022.
  16. Despite being hyped for NWH, I honestly didn’t believe the film would amaze me the way it did. I haven’t walked out of a cinema smiling from ear to ear in a long time. Not making additional NWH sets would be a massive misfire on Lego’s part, so I hope that Fulcrum’s rumour regarding two additional sets bears fruit this summer (and that the FFH polybag doesn’t count as one of them!). The lack of any spoilerific merchandise is a shame, but I also wonder what the situation has been with licensees for this film, and can’t help recalling what happened with The Mandalorian, where Lego, Hasbro et al. didn’t know of Grogu’s existence until the first episode aired. Or perhaps licensees already been made privy to spoilers but can’t release merchandise until a certain date? I certainly hope it’s the latter, maybe things just haven’t leaked out because of extra tight security. Another thing benefitting this mythical spoiler wave is that for the most part, I can’t imagine any characters outside of Lizard requiring specialised pieces. I’m hopeful Lego go all out on Peter #2 and Peter #3 with dual-moulded legs and printed arms. God, just loved that film. I anticipate we’ll start receiving merchandise reveals from the likes of Hasbro and Funko at least over the next couple of weeks.
  17. Agreed. At this point, Rex and Cody seem like two of the more highly desired minifigures that Lego just never seems to get around to making. I have to admit I’m let down that it’s a generic army builder pack, but that does make infinitely more sense and will sell much better in the long run I’m sure. Overall 2022 looks to be off to a bit of a boring start, excited to see what March and beyond has in store.
  18. Better cross more than our fingers just in case Pricing contentions with Accessory Packs assuming the cost of old Battle Packs aside, something like this may be much needed for Lego Star Wars in the long run. As the years go by and the amount of content ramps up, Accessory Packs would be a nice way for Lego to cover less prominent media whilst trying to cover popular films and TV shows with normal System sets. Can you imagine a Fallen Order pack with Cal Kestis, a Purge Trooper, some third minifigure, and a buildable BD-1 and Zeffo Guardian? The possibilities are endless.
  19. Wow! This is really exciting news personally. I missed out on most Clone Wars sets as a child, and Rex and Cody are two of my most sought after characters that I wish Lego would revisit. Naturally Phase 2 variants would be much cooler, but at least Phase 1 versions will allow for Rex’s rangefinder and Cody’s visor-thingy. As nuanced as Lego’s decision-making on new moulds is, it will always annoy me that they can’t bother to produce a new Phase 2 helmet that will have so much versatility and reusability in comparison to the one-off moulds we’ve seen. Assuming this rumour is true, I just hope Lego don’t skimp on accurately coloured helmet attachments and a kama for Rex. Recent minifigures like Echo and the Snowtroopers probably mean the latter won’t happen though. More than anything, I hope this portends us getting a properly done Phase 2 Rex and Cody in the near future.
  20. Would’ve been nice to see a Bad Batch accessory pack but alas, personal preference. Phase 1 Clones still sound nice, and Hoth Rebels are sorely needed given how severely outgunned they are with the UCS AT-AT and January sets
  21. More than anything PT stuff is simply a departure from the aesthetic of the OT. Discourse on what’s iconic and what’s not aside, from a toy standpoint the more colourful and elegant ships and characters certainly pop in Lego form The Dark Trooper may not be a timeless and iconic subject to draw from, but like some have already said it’s just a relevant thing right now thanks to Mando. A DT helmet will certainly look interesting! I’m still not happy about the staggered release of the 1HY product next year, but hopefully we’ll get some reveals in the next month or so.
  22. My main concern is that Sony wasn’t upfront to licensees about the inclusion of the Spider-Men in NWH, so any ‘spoiler merchandise’ will just include the Fiendish Five and not Tobey and Andrew. Hope I’m wrong though. Agree with you all that the new $100 mystery set should be a Statue of Liberty. I can imagine such a set rivalling 2016’s Bridge Duel, which to this day is the quintessential non-D2C Lego Spider-Man set in my opinion. The trailer was quite good! It’s funny how blatantly some scenes have had Tobey and Andrew edited out, but I’m all for seeing them for the first time on the big screen.
  23. About time Lego updated the packaging! God, that greebly Vader box border was so boring to look at, these will certainly pop much more. It’s also a nice touch to get some Battle of Hoth promo art on the sides of the boxes. As for the sets themselves, they look great and a perfect complement to the UCS AT-AT. I think the highlight of the whole wave is that updated Probe Droid, it looks just like a miniaturised version of the 18+ one! As for the AT-ST, I appreciate that the build actually seems somewhat different from the previous two we’ve gotten. Looking forward to seeing the more interesting sets for next year!
  24. Amen to that. The only set I’m moderately excited for is Wolverine’s Mech to be honest. Ironshem sounds meh. With the immense fanfare currently surrounding the NWH trailer debut tomorrow, it’ll be interesting to see if that’ll be accompanied by a spoiler merchandise push, or at least announcements.
  25. Honestly, I feel your frustration. The Bad Batch was the perfect vehicle for Lego to reintroduce prequel ships and walkers and not seeing further sets for now really does suck. Saying that, I’m a little optimistic because this year’s summer wave featured a healthy balance of sets from new media. That, paired with the two TBoBF sets we’re getting next year tells me that Lego is at least, to some degree, not shying away from producing stuff based on new content the way they did before. Today’s Disney+ Day was a massive disappointment, Lucasfilm really don’t know how to hype their own content. It was still cool getting that Kenobi Sizzle Reel with concept art that was shown to investors last year. If that concept art is already a year old, I feel confident we’ll get some decent vehicle / location based sets next summer. Personal opinion but I hope Lego doesn’t assign any high summer price points to Mandalorian stuff next year - outside of some omissions like Kuiil, Cobb Vanth etc. I feel like we’ve gotten some decent coverage of the first two seasons by this point.
