  1. Regarding the first part, I couldn't agree more. And regarding the second part... well... it could have been a great oportunity to see the flex cables back again!
  2. Indeed, but for this new piece we have not only a different number of blades, but also the blade tilting function, which is a significant -and the main- improvement. I think that, as new molds are expensive, TLG will try to re use this new piece into other sets instead of making new pieces. Furthermore, the fact that we didn't get any similar piece since 1991 (or '95, which was when it was used for last time) suggests that having any kind of variation of the new rotor piece is rather unlikely. But this is obviously just a guess :).
  3. Maybe, but I rather don't think so. The number of blades doesn't add any functionality, just aesthetics. Also, it requires some extend of mechanisms and complexity, so I don't expect to see it in smaller kits, which would be a reason to expect in fewer number of blades.
  4. I think this set -along with the heavy tow truck- looks like a perfect example to TLG that you don't need a huge set to make a good set. I start to see this set as some kind of updated reincarnation of the 8856 back from 1991.
  5. I don't use to guess about this kind of stuff but I think that: -despite the circular shape of the starfish-rotor piece, I don't think it will fit in a baseplate. I'm not sure until which extent it would be useful at the end. Or at least in this setup. -there are two ways to rotate the rotor: roatating the base of the blade links or transmitting the power through the central liftarm. The first option would not be the best solution, probably, as the blade links may tend to get disconnected. If the power is transmitted via the liftarm, to tilt the rotor is going to be difficult (unless, to do so, you tilt the base to which the blade links should be attached and that remains hidden in the photos. Anyways, to me it's an interesting model with some interesting functions.
  6. Given the size, I would say that they're correct, but I have no confirmation.
  7. I like it! Probably because I tend to not compare the Lego models with the real ones. I'm aware that there's a reason to call them "licensed", but, honestly, o just care about the set itself and it's mechanisms within in particular. As many other said, there's not a lot of helicopters of a significant size, so this one is quite welcomed.
  8. I used a wood box that has standard measures here, and then I compartimentalize it according to the pieces that I am going to store. The problem that indeed I have now is that I am running out of the storage inside the closet I have... and probably my wife will just kill me if I start to invade more areas of the house jejeje...
  9. I store my collection in compartmentalized wooden boxes, as in the pic. The panels are stocked, depending on their shape and the possiblity of pile them. I do like that because I don't have a dedicated room for Lego, so in this way, I'm able to move the boxes of I need to. Nevertheless, I have to say that, when getting a new set with lots of panels, it's a pain in the **s, but it's the best option I have found!
  10. That's very true, of course. I often wait after the release of it worths it or not (and also because I cannot afford guys have sets very often!). But yes, let's see what TLG releases... Yes, I did bring up the 42100. But what I meant is that the 42100 was interesting to some extend (considering the absence of gearboxes, and so on), but definitely was not a boring building experience. What I meant is that the new Liebherr may end up with the base of the 42100 but with a repetitive -boring for some people as well-. But, así said, let's see what's finally released... If any!
  11. This is indeed what I though. On the paper I though it could be a good model to build, but now I am afraid that it could easely end up as a 42100 with a endless, tedious and boring construction of the arm.
  12. It is, indeed! I will dig a little into it, since if a single mindstorms block can handle few technic hubs at the same time it could be quite useful for big constructions. Thanks!
  13. Good to know, thanks! Indeed, then, it's just the wait for us...
  14. Or it might be even -the leak, I mean, the reason of cancellation...
  15. Thanks! I will re-try this afternoon with the linear motors and see if I did something wrong! ;)
  16. Hello everyone! I just put my hands on a Mindstorms 51515 set, which I am enjoying a lot :). One of the major stepbacks that were pointed out when comparing the 31313 and the 51515 is that the old one can make daisy chain and connect up to 4 EV3 bricks together, while the newest version seemed to be incapable at that moment. Nevertheless, it seems that, at least in a beta version, it would be possible to connect at least 2 hubs via bluetooth, or at least the option is there. Has someone tried? I just have one of these sets and I cannot try that. How it went? Also, i just made some tests of compatibility between the C+ hub and the Mindstorms hub in terms of managing the motors and sensors. It seems that both angular motors, medium and big, works fine in both hubs. unfortunately, the C+ motors don't have that trait and they remain invisible to the Mindstorms hub. The same thing applies to the color-distance sensor of the technic hub when connected to the mindstorms hub, and, resversely, the Mindstorm sensors do not retrieve anything to the technic hub. Has someone figured out if there is any solution for this? If not, does someone know if TLG has some intention to implement those compatibility issues?
  17. But considering its expected release date, it's also strange that there's no official communication, no?
  18. Didn't know about this. What's the source?
  19. Thanks @Zerobricks for the info. I'm nevertheless a bit surprised by that the info you mentioned is not easy to find in the website (indeed I couldn't find it at this moment). Is there any place in the website that is updated on this regard? Also I would expect some kind of newsletter -i double checked in my mailbox, but unsuccessfully-, like the one we received some time ago, to tell about the evolution of the app. I'm just asking, and it's also possible that I missed something!
  20. As we're getting closer to the end of the second quarter of 2022... Is there any update of the Buwizz app?
  21. Thanks you guys! I will check local stores, but as I am not in a hurry, I won't have any problem of waiting. But yes, the microchip crisis may make sense with this issue.
  22. Well, I am thinking to jump in the Mindstorms with the 51515 set. But now I found that not any retailer (even TLG itself) have any delivery date. Does someone knows about the reason of this?
