LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!

Yeah when I order from LEGO I want to get LEGO. Does anybody actually care about the coins, badges, etc.? And surely a new print on a minifigure would be cheaper for them to produce than some specialised metalwork? -

Yeah I want it to be literally anything other than Stormtroopers, as they're already very easy to get hold of and also because for me personally I still haven't come around on the new design and I've already got plenty of the older ones. Even some random civilians would be of more use to me. I also already have 30 Death Troopers but at least they'd be something we haven't had in a while. Range Troopers though? Yes please. (But that is just speculation based on Hasbro making one, right?) But yeah until we see pictures I'm keeping low expectations and assuming the Stormie leak is true. At the very least I'm a fan of getting new Imperial Officers so Dedra will be a must-buy for me in the same way as I'm looking to get Praji from the new Destroyer. (I really hope she is in her ISB uniform and not some undercover outfit, and also that they don't go overboard with the feminine curve details so it can be more versatile.) -

Still possible that it does. I got the Clone and Hoth 3-figure packs at 30% off when they were retiring in January 2023, and same for the Falcon holiday diorama in 2024. Of course, it wasn't easy since they were constantly going in and out of stock on a daily basis so it's not a guarantee that everyone would be able to get the Dropship vs Speeder at that point. -

Shame about the cockpit; idk the policy on printed parts in polybags but they've included a print on that exact part in the Falcon microfighters in the past. Not a set I'm really bothered about anyway though. Presumably it'll end up being part of the May 4th giveaway like the AAT and AT-ST did? (Speculation on my part there but seems reasonable) -

Oh yeah I absolutely hope not too but Landino has among the best record of all the leakers so it's likely correct. Death troopers would indeed be way better (insert obligatory "new stormies bad" comment here), or some other type; wasn't there some speculation about Range Troopers showing up in Andor too from a Hasbro toy or whatever? Yeah I've somehow managed to end up with 4 Taun Wes after buying 2 of Obi-Wan's fighter and getting the other 2 in bulk auctions on eBay over the past couple of years so she wouldn't interest me. Lama Su, or anyone else, though? Yes please. -

Yeah as far as I remember he's been pretty accurate in the past That was the rumoured figure lineup a couple months ago though, so I guess it could be that that was fake from someone else and he's just included it as part of his summary but I'm on the side of believing it's real. -

My thoughts as well. In principle I'm not against a "named character battle pack" (though a complaint I have about the Bounty Hunters pack is that Dengar was also cheaply available in the Eclipse fighter and more importantly I don't count IG-88 as a real minifigure; I would've preferred replacing those two with Boba and Zuckuss, or at least replace IG-88 with one of them, or since it's not a traditional battle pack anyway just include all 6 and charge a bit more for it) but the Jedi and Clones pack was quite possibly the worst execution of that concept they could've done. Two massable plain Clones? Great, people wanted those, but that means it is something people will want multiples of, so having non-massable figures mixed in is immediately a problem. Two Jedi? Could've been alright but already not great as it cuts down the number of the army-buildable figures. Now if you wanted Clones you had to get Jedi as well. But the choice of which Jedi in particular was terrible. They chose two of the most distinctive Jedi possible. Even Anakin and Obi-Wan it would have been better as you can just replace their heads to make generic Jedi, but Barriss and Ki-Adi have very distinctive robes so you only really need one of each. And unlike other alien Jedi (e.g. Coleman Trebor, or any of the weequay/nikto Jedi) their faces are also very distinctive so those also can't really be reused. Therefore, any multiples you get of the set have half the figures wasted. Not just for the people who buy 100 of them: people like me who were kids at the time and would maybe buy 2 or 3 of a battle pack to get a squad of troops also couldn't do that. Also the Barriss figure was a bit of a downgrade on the 2010 version now that she had the weird eyes. And both Barriss and Ki-Adi's previous versions were already very cheaply available. I know that doesn't tend to factor into LEGO's decisions as kids don't use Bricklink, but surely it makes more sense to make something that would please everyone (any of the missing Jedi from Geonosis could've filled those slots, e.g. Bultar Swan and Pablo Jill mentioned in this thread). This argument also applies to Kithaba in the Sail Barge. Any other guard in that slot (even Barada, who is basically just a Kithaba recolour) would've made no difference to modern fans who just want any guard, but for people like me who already have 6 of the old Kithaba it would've been much more worth having. -

My thoughts as well. 40 was basically the bare-minimum (and so knowing LEGO the most likely) number I had in mind for a set costing this much. Compare with, say, the Avengers Tower which costs half the price and has 31 figures. Of course we've seen with Jabba's Barge that it's not always reliable to correlate price and figures (yes I'm still salty about that set) but given the context of the previous Death Stars having 24 and 27 minifigures I was expecting more in this one. The only way it wouldn't have a large number of figures would be if it is indeed just a big ball with no interior, but that seems extremely unlikely for the price. -

Yeah agreed. I got the 2021 Boba's Slave 1 and was initially on board with the idea of downscaling but once I'd got it built I realised just how tiny it is. I already had all the previous models and it looked absolutely ridiculous next to 75243, 8097, etc. Downscaling worked for the TIE and X-wing, but Slave 1 really needs to be at that larger size (and tbh it's more that the previous TIE and X-wing sets were oversized rather than the smaller ones being undersized). Yeah the 20th anniversary one is easily the best playset so a Jango version based on that would be great. I do agree that it's unlikely though with the UCS one coming up. (There actually wasn't any crossover between the UCS and system versions of Boba's, unless some 3rd party stores still had the UCS one in stock by the time the 20th anniversary one released. Officially the UCS one retired December 2018 and the anniversary one came out April 2019.) -

A possible issue there is that some of them have big logos on them which seriously limit reusability. Thankfully the RTG figures don't, but some of the Freemakers had the triangle-with-a-red-minifig-hand logo on them which to me was just completely unnecessary and ruined the overall designs. (Especially for the 2nd version of Rowan whose torso would've otherwise been perfect for a custom Captain Antilles, at a time when he was a rare character, if not for the huge logo on his back.) Same as how a lot of unlicensed sets have figures which could be used in a bunch of settings but then they're ruined by having some huge logo. E.g. the volcano explorers from a few years ago had great outfits but then they just had to go and stamp a big dumb cartoon volcano picture on the back of most of them, or the Fantasy-era crown knights (e.g. cas406) reusing the scale mail Viking torso (e.g. vik003) but this time with a big cartoon crown logo so unlike with the Viking ones I can't use them for custom figures for LotR etc. But yeah for the RTG figures at least they haven't done that. And another nice thing is that they don't have any skin showing around the neck which also makes the parts more versatile for other races/species. Making human heads of varying skin tones available isn't really a draw to me though since as Mandalorianknight mentioned we already have plenty of those popping up now with the way they're doing Stormtroopers, and personally I tend to bulk out my PaB orders by sticking in a few dozen random heads from the huge selection they have on there at 20p each. Would much rather have aliens, especially like the ones I mentioned before since those species have never been made at all (a duros is still kinda disappointing since they've been made for Cad Bane and the generic BF Rebel one, but still better than a human). It still ultimately comes down to there just not being enough sets with minifigures for me to justify them wasting the slot of what could be, say, a set with a bunch of Jabba's guards or something from Bespin with Lando. -

Yeah personally I do not care at all about any of the LEGO OC characters. Same goes for the Freemakers and so on in the past, but at least then there were enough other sets out to compensate for those slots. If they made Skrilling, Snivvian, etc. OC characters then maybe I'd view it differently. -

Not necessarily: P2 Bly and Aayla are most prominent in RotS where their only scene has them facing off against a line of droid vehicles including tan AATs, and earlier in the movie we see a brown MTT. Of course, we're already pretty confident it is the blue/grey version anyway but I wouldn't say this is evidence either way. Yeah I'm very much on team "no named characters in battle packs" so I'm fine with him being in a different set. I think most people are just disappointed it wasn't something more exciting like a Separatist leader. The real issue is the lack of playsets in general so each figure slot is kinda precious. -

My thoughts exactly. The animated style in the show is an interpretation of a real thing in its own style, but LEGO already have their own style. Translating the animation style onto the figures is like making a copy of a copy. Yeah... Guys I'm sure it's actually Wat Tambor and a Tactical Droid and the picture is just too low quality for the leakers to tell right? Right? I hope Aayla doesn't have the awful new eyes, but at least for her we have the 2017 version which is already perfect. Unlike Ahsoka etc. where there's no real way to fix them. -

Yeah when I read rumours for the Marines and 327th I was like "yayyy two of my favourite Clone designs- oh wait they're probably gonna suck". Even without the issues of helmet holes and kamas, the 2020 design was still such a downgrade. The legs are fine (I don't like that they'd still be inconsistent with my older figures but can't deny that they're an upgrade), and the heads are great (I bought 300 of them on Pick a Brick to upgrade all my old Clones), but the helmets and torsos are absolutely awful. Hopefully the Marines will escape most of the issues but they'll still have the belt, and who knows if that means they'll have the same ridiculous proportions that come with it on the regular Clones nowadays. And based on current Snowtroopers (which I also really dislike. Honestly there is an interestingly-large number of characters that got near-perfect designs in 2014 which then got downgraded in the past few years: e.g. Stormtroopers, Snowtroopers, and Hoth Rebels in 2019, and then the Clones in 2020.) they won't have backpacks, nevermind cloth kamas. They should at least have their pauldrons though (they could potentially reuse Fives's in black). To be honest the 41st Scouts would probably be fine since the only part of their armour which is shared with standard Clones is the kneepads, which is basically the only part of the new armour style I actually like. Though at that point I don't really see any point in them being made anyway since we got a lot of them in the 2014 and 2019 Kashyyyk waves and while they aren't exactly cheap nowadays they also aren't particularly hard to get hold of. Since we're already getting pretty saturated with Clones there are plenty of other things I'd rather have than what was possibly the most-common Clone figure from that era. -

100%. I'm trying to make customs of all the missing figures and I think Pote Snitkin is the one causing me the most issues since there are no official face prints that are a close enough match, and the only custom one I can find is from Engineerio which looks to be kinda mid quality and the only way to get it is to buy the whole figure at like $25. I'll put in a vote for the other Bespin Leia (white jumpsuit) since that's never been made at all Yeah I only have one too, from the Hoth figure pack -

Yeah that's my main issue with the barge. Zero guards at all in the skiff (ridiculous, especially with how overpriced it is) and only 4 in the barge with 1 being a reused Gamorrean, and 1 of the remaining 3 being a repeat of what was already the cheapest of them all anyway: Kithaba. He'd already been in the 2012 skiff and even 12 years later only costs like £3. They should've made either a new version of an actually hard to find character, e.g. Ree-Yees, or one we've never had such as the Weequay Luke pulls out of a hatch (though they also forgot to include any hatches on the model which is another problem), another green Nikto (Klaatu or Yotts Oren, both of whom could've reused Wooof's head and helmet) or a whole bunch of others (and the skiff should've included Vedain to fight Lando). It's insane that it costs £100 more than the Mos Eisley Cantina but has half as many figures. And of course the figures we did get have issues (3PO's leg, Fortuna's lekku, etc.). -

Yeah I legit think you might be lol. They look exactly the same with the helmets on so I don't see why it makes such a huge difference to you but if you really want them to be not-zombies then just get any of the dozens of regular heads available for 20p on Pick a Brick or a wider range on Bricklink. Conversely, people like me who want zombie heads wouldn't be able to do that if the set included a bunch of cheap random reused normal heads. Also the only Death Troopers we see in the show are already zombies so it wouldn't be accurate for them to have regular faces. Yeah really stupid decision to do that. Even as someone who was not a fan of TRoS I thought the Sith Troopers looked cool but they completely dropped the ball with that battle pack (it warmed shelves for a looong time around me and I saw them going for as little as £5 each, the cheapest I've ever seen a battle pack), and there have been a lot of others like it over the years. Of course, we're assuming LEGO are capable of learning from mistakes like that (which based on this they aren't). As I mentioned in my previous post, the only positive will be if the 2 Death Troopers have unique damage patterns (unlikely) but even then I think most people would prefer a 1:3 ratio with the standard Night Troopers. At least there's no Enoch included (yeah they need to make him at some point but I'm very much a no-named-characters-in-battle-packs kinda guy). -

Sounds like a ripoff (based on the previous price rumour), and as others have said I'm not looking forward to yet another terrible oversized AT-RT. It's crazy that the only good models of that vehicle are the ones that came as side-builds in the Turbo Tanks. All the other ones have gone straight into my spare parts drawers. They could've at least made it something 327th-relevant like the ISP, or even a downsized AT-AP (I always prefer downsizing rather than oversizing). And I don't think anyone cares about Super Battle Droids anymore as you can get them for under £1 each on Bricklink now since the Clones vs Droids pack came out last year. It should've really just been a standard battle pack. Cut the droids, and I wouldn't even mind if the vehicle was the usual made-up battle pack slop since it sounds like what we're getting is basically pointless anyway and only exists to double the price (unless it is a large Homing Spider as others have suggested, which would actually be cool). A properly-scaled AT-RT would also make for a perfect regular BP build if they were to make it something actually canon, which would still be my preference. This one's also pretty disappointing. A Patrol Gunship build was kinda predictable; I just hope it doesn't rule out getting a full-sized one in the next couple of years. And the minifigure ratio... How many times do we need to say this to them? This is why the 2020 Sith Trooper pack failed to sell well, and has been an issue in others as well (even as far back as the 2014 Utapau troopers). When you have a specialist troop type and a massable troop type, you put in more of the massable ones. Simple. (And it applies even more to the officers in certain other battle packs. Getting one is fine, but making them 2 out of 4 figures is a mistake they've made far too many times.) Maybe it at least means they'll be 2 unique designs (with different damage patterns), but I'm not too hopeful. (From a selfish perspective I'm not distraught as I was kinda only interested in the Death Troopers anyway since I don't like the new Stormtroopers, but I'm talking about the wider appeal of the set here.) -

Yeah I love the new Clone heads and legs but the helmets and torsos are just awful. I'm really annoyed that they're making all the cool legions now because of the new style. If the 2014 design held on for just a few more years we could've got the 501st, shock troopers, etc. in that near-perfect design. Instead we get them in the awful hybrid style. I don't have much interest in collecting figures that I think look bad so to me that means these Clones might as well not exist, but it's worse than that since if they do (fingers crossed) switch to a new style in the next few years which is more movie-accurate then they probably won't make these guys in whatever style that ends up being since they'd still be pretty recent. Same as how we won't be getting good figures of Fox, Vaughn, Fives, etc. since they've made them now, even though they are pretty bad (not just because of the TCW stylisation in those cases). But yeah even for people who don't mind the new style it's still just so many Clones in a short span of time, especially in an era where system sets are becoming unfortunately scarce. -

I'm with you on this. Already got the 2010 ARC-170 so from the new set I only really want the new pilot minifigures. The V-19 was made at the time when stickers were terrible and cracked so there's basically zero chance of finding one in good condition now. It definitely deserves a remake, and Ventress and Obi-Wan will be good figures if they do them right (I just REALLY hope they don't do anything stupid with Ventress's eyes. It's fine if they make them white like in the 2015 Anakin's Custom Starfighter set, but I'm worried they'd make them the terrible glowy blue type that they just love ruining figures with these days). Also a P1 pilot. I don't like the new Clone design, so wouldn't care about the torso/legs, but at least with the new P1s their helmets are close enough to the 2013 design (not perfect though; they still managed to make some parts worse) that if the pilot gets a new helmet without the fin (no guarantee but hopefully) I could replace the helmets of my 2013-style pilots. But even if the figures do end up not being great I'd still get the set in some way, maybe just get the build itself cheap on eBay. They got drip -

Tbh I'd rather they stick to how they are in the movie. I want the regular troopers rather than stuff like the Battlefront classes as they did with the 501st or other obscure variants. At least Rex and Fives had theirs so there's some precedent now. Probably no kamas though -

Only all of the ones on screen? What about the 456th battalion's elite gunship referenced in a single sentence in The Essential Guide to Warfare? No official visual depictions exist, but that's no excuse for them to ignore what the fans want. It's irrelevant anyway since half of all sets for the foreseeable future will be 18+ buildable Clone Shoulder Armour™️, all the same build but with a few different tiles to make them a completely new character.
