  1. Don't worry about it too much. Just look for how you can improve. In UMDM's the "boss" got KOed round 1, unless I'm mistaken. Every QM has come a long way. If I were you, though, I'd err on the side of dropping too few artifacts and permanent-boosting items, but I know most new QMs seem to go to the other side, so who am I to judge. I guess we'll see how my battles work out the first time I host. In other news. I am almost done the pictures for my first quest, but realized that all my battle preparations aren't really applicable because of the way I've changed the quest. So now for that part...again. Don't worry. I will QM sometime...hopefully this year (and I know I said the same things two years ago... )
  2. Those are two sweet items. I don't know if we have any footwear that offers up to 3 SP, and it has absorptive abilities as well. The Robes of the Vampire are better even than the Ethereal Cloak.
  3. "If you surrender, Oko, we'll give you a proper beheading, fitting for a warrior though perhaps too good for a traitor. For your master, though...no such compromise." Battle Order: Yu Shu: Bella (Dual-Hit) Yu Shu: Repeat Pretzel: Bella (Staff of the Necromancer); or Oko (Splinter Broom) if Bella KOed Pretzel: Repeat Samuel: Bella or Oko if Koed Samuel: Repeat Kiray: Bella (Anointed Gladius), or Oko (Heavy Flail), if Bella KOed. Avery: Bella (Red Assassin's Dagger), or Oko (Throwing Knife), if Bella KOed.
  4. Boomingham and Eric are great. This is going to be a good quest.
  5. "It matters little so long as we end you for the curse you've been to a lot of otherwise good men." Battle Order: >Yu Shu: Seal Oko Yu Shu: Seal Oko; if Oko Sealed, Bella (Dual-Hit) Pretzel: Remedy Yu Shu if Hexed; if not, Bella (Staff of the Necromancer) Kiray: Remedy Pretzel if Hexed; if not and Oko Sealed, Oko (Anointed Gladius); if Oko Not Sealed, Bella Pretzel: Bella Avery: If Oko Sealed, Oko (Dark Throwing Knife); if not, Bella (Red Assassin's Dagger) Samuel: Heal any Ally who took Damage this round, if none, Heal Self. Samuel: Heal any Ally who took Damage this round, if none, Attack Bella
  6. This was just too funny!
  7. I think if we increase the ether costs to say 2 ether per enemy/ally, it would be reasonable. You could even keep Nanny's Lullaby...possibly. I don't know if it defeats the purpose though, but if we'll be cranking up ether costs, I wonder if we should bring back the ether cores?
  8. Perhaps there could be mistrust for a certain amount of quests/battles. so if you train your dragon early, the mistrust won't affect you as much, but when you try to train it when it's grown, there's more of a problem. Once the dragon is trained though, perhaps the dragoons should be able to switch out of their class at will. Perhaps the dragon likes napping...or whatever. I have to agree, I think...
  9. My biggest memory of the swear filter was when it was removed.
  10. I agree with Scuba on all points. I don't think the Druid really needs a change. It never struck me as being ridiculously overpowered, but the change is not major either, so I suppose you could include it. I think for Minstrels to have a cost per enemy affected would make sense, but perhaps Chromeknight could offer his opinion on the matter. Alchemist's 4 roll would seem kind of lame to me.
  11. "Let's carry this through to completion," I whisper almost reverently. Somehow it seems as if Colt's life had flashed before my eyes. "These two are troublemakers." Battle Order: >Samuel: Blind Oko >Samuel: Blind Oko, if Oko Blinded, Heal Kiray Yu Shu: If Oko Blinded, Oko (Dual-Hit); if Not, Seal Oko Yu Shu: Repeat; If Oko Sealed, but Not Blinded, Bella (Dual-Hit) Avery: If Oko Blinded, Oko (Light Throwing Dagger); if not, retrieve Dark Throwing Knife >Pretzel: Oko (Splinter Broom) >Pretzel: If Oko Blinded, Repeat; Otherwise, Bella (Staff of the Necromancer, Front Row) Kiray: If Oko Blinded, Oko (Anointed Gladius); If Not, Remedy Pretzel if Pretzel Hexed; if not, Remedy Yu Shu if Yu Shu Hexed; if Not, do Nothing.
  12. I knew all along the Bonapartes were Pongcanae in disguise.
  13. "Humph! Well, Colt went down. That did not quite go according to plan. Meh!" Battle Order: Avery: Imperial Order Crossbowman (Dark Throwing Dagger) Samuel: Bella Samuel: Bella Kiray: Oko (Heavy Flail) Pretzel: Bella (Staff of the Necromancer) Pretzel: Bella Yu Shu: Crossbowman (+ Oko) or Bella (+Oko) if Crossbowman KOed. Yu Shu: Repeat
  14. I growl under my breath. "Those were mine!" I protests as Oko raises the crossbowman. I see Avery's glint. "Not just yet assassin. I want you to bring down Oko first. Good job Yu Shu!" Battle Order: >Samuel: Commander Colt >Samuel: Commander Colt, if Guardian Angel rolled, then Heal Kiray. Kiray: Oko (Heavy Flail) Pretzel: Oko (Splinter Staff) Pretzel: Repeat Avery: Oko (Red Assassin's Dagger) >Yu Shu: Commander Colt, if Guardian Angel Rolled, Crossbowman (Dual-Hitting Oko, Front Row) >Yu Shu: Repeat
  15. "Yu Shu, I know you may not be too fond of doing so, but Healing Colt may help us out more than hinder us. It is a strange thing, but Guardian Angels often, from what I've noticed, seem to have an easier time sticking around when Healing is being done, oddly enough, especially when attempting to heal enemies, perhaps they know that their showing up will prevent the enemy from being healed." Battle Order: >Pretzel: Colt (Grand Potion) >Samuel: Commander Colt >Samuel: Commander Colt if no Damage Taken; If Guardian Angel Rolled, Blind Oko; If Damage taken, Heal Self >Yu Shu: Seal Oko >Yu Shu: Seal Oko, if Oko Sealed, Commander Colt (Dual-Hitting Oko), if Guardian Angel Rolled, See Later Action >Kiray: If Oko Sealed, Oko (Heavy Flail); if not, Bella (Front Row) >Pretzel: If Oko not targetted, Oko (Splinter Broom); Otherwise, Bella (Staff of the Necromancer, Front Row) >Avery: If Oko Sealed and Blinded, Oko (Red Assassin's Dagger); Otherwise, Retrieve Dark Throwing Knife >Yu Shu: Heal Commander Colt, if Willing, or Heal Hero with Lowest Health.
  16. "I can see Oko is going to be a problem. Yu Shu, if you can seal him, then perhaps Avery can sneak in and do her dirty work. "Meanwhile, Bella is unguarded. So I'll lead the others against her." Battle Order: >Samuel: Commander Colt >Samuel: Commander Colt; if Guardian Angel Rolled, Attack Bella (Front Row) >Yu Shu: Commander Colt (Also hitting Oko); if Guardian Rolled, Seal Oko >Yu Shu: Repeat; if Oko Sealed, Dual-Hit Oko Avery: If Oko Sealed, Oko (Red Assassin's Dagger); If Not Sealed, Bella Pretzel: Bella (Staff of the Necromancer) Pretzel: Repeat >Kiray: Commander Colt (Rito Longsword); if Guardian Angel Rolled and Oko Sealed, Oko(Heavy Flail, Front Row); if Oko Not Sealed, Bella (Anointed Gladius)
  17. I'm not sure if I'm stupid or blind or what, but I didn't see it in the frequently asked questions despite my being pretty sure that we came to a conclusion on it before. When a hero attacks an enemy (or vice versa), and the damage done is not equal to the defendant's SP, is the enemy/hero affected by the weapon's effect (let's say "Poisoned")?
  18. Can't wait for this! I wouldn't mind taking part, but obviously I won't be much of a help in the "set building" category (considering that said area is what is holding me back from hosting my own quest). And I should probably host at least one small quest before trying to participate in a saga.
  19. "Of course. The fewer casualties we sustain, the more live on to fight another day...should the need arise of course."
  20. "Good work. Only one angel left defending Bella and Colt's angel looks about gone too. Let's finish the last remaining angel and take these two down." Battle Order: >Pretzel: Angel of the West >Samuel: Commander Colt >Samuel: Commander Colt, if Guardian Angel Rolled, See later action >Yu Shu: Commander Colt (Also hitting Guardian Angel); if Guardian Angel Rolled, Seal Oko Kiray: If Oko Sealed, Attack with Heavy Flail; Otherwise, See Later Action >Yu Shu: Commander Colt (Also hitting Guardian Angel or Oko); if Guardian Angel Rolled, Seal Oko; if Oko Sealed, Dual-Strike Him (Front Row) Kiray: If Oko Sealed, Attack (Heavy Flail); Otherwise, Angel of the West (Katana); if Angel of the West KO'ed, Bella (Anointed Gladius) Avery: If Oko Sealed, Attack (Red Assassin's Dagger); if not, Angel of the West; if KO'ed, Bella Pretzel: Angel of the West (Flying Cross); if KO'ed and Oko Sealed, Attack Oko (Splinter Broomstick); if not, Bella (Staff of the Necromancer) Samuel: Follow Pretzel's Action
  21. I growl impatiently. It seemed like the others in the party were incapable of landing any hits. Even the blasted Red Assassin. Repeat All.
  22. Yes, somehow I didn't think it would be too great at first, but it turned out rather excellently. I like how Sandy's quests always sound like they're going to be so relatively innocent, but turn out to be rather important.
  23. Good to see you back.
  24. Battle Order: >Samuel: Commander Colt >Samuel: Commander Colt; if Guardian Angel Rolled, see later action >Yu Shu: Commander Colt; if Guardian Angel Rolled, see later action >Yu Shu: Repeat >Kiray: Commander Colt; if Guardian Angel Rolled, Angel of the North (Heavy Flail, Front Row) Yu Shu: Angel of the North (Dual Hit) Yu Shu: Repeat; if Previous Strike Successful, Also Hit Angel of the West; if North KO'ed, Dual-Hit West >Pretzel: Angel of the North, if KO'ed, Angel of the West >Pretzel: Repeat, if Angel of the West KO'ed, Bella (Dual Staff, Front Row) >Avery: Guardian Angel B (Dark Throwing Knife) Samuel: Angel with lowest Health; if all Ko'ed, Blind Oko
  25. I think it just depends on the quest, QM, etc. Sometimes starting with a fight can be the perfect start and at other times a role-playing start is fantastic. For instance, #127 start was quite nice. We had time to get to know the NPCs, but it would have dragged out if we would have had nothing to do but role-play between being at the temple and getting captured, so the boat battle was a great filler.
