  1. Same here! Although sometimes characters like that can be a little less fun to play, it's really nice to have them around. Hoke had some really great moments towards the end of 53.
  2. Thanks for a great quest, Jim Butcher. It seemed that so many of us had one real life difficulty or another which made it go slower than it could have, but the quest was really great. There were quite a number of really great NPCs around as well. I was frustrated to have missed out on the part with Umbra, as she has to be one of my favourite NPCs, You said that we didn't get to see your brick-built dragons. I suppose if we had gone somewhere else we would've seen them or if we had fought with Umbra? I'm glad we could restore her faith in Heroica somewhat. Before this quest I was pretty certain that I would go Paladin for Pretzel, but now I'm not so sure. The way I would play it, Paladin would essentially be the same as cleric just with extra defense, although I'm not sure if I'm willing to trade Miracles for Guardian Angel. I have to say that I'm a bit blank on where to invest my gold in at this time, as if I go Paladin, it would likely be for just one quest first to see if I really feel like going that route, but I suppose we shall see. I have to say the same thing as Tanma here. I was always a bit nervous about questing with someone like De'kra due to him being who he is and Monk Pretzel being who he is. I find arguing difficult to do because you're arguing for a character who is not yourself and whose views likely differ from your own. Furthermore, due to time zone differences, it is rare that we are online at the same time, so it really throws a damper on the deal when you post and wait 20 hours before you the person has responded and you have time to reply. But altogether, I enjoyed Pretzel's interactions with De'kra and had fun. Mizuki is awesome. I've said it before, I think... , and I'll say it again. The entire party from the Quest #32 was quite awesome. Actually the parties from all of Rumble's quests were awesome.
  3. "We did cure the dragon. I suppose you played your own part in the matter. I've honestly seen worse from regular humans. I can't say I appreciate you giving the dragon back his gold. There are a lot of people in Eubric who are struggling to survive and that gold could save their lives. The dragon doesn't need it and as our winged friends have said, she probably has a massive stash elsewhere. But to each his own. Some people don't mind watching others suffer." I shake my head. "I fought under the paladins many years ago, when I was still uncertain of my mission in life. Life in the army teaches you things no regular cut-throat or sell-sword can know. It teaches discipline, the most valuable and crucial skill in combat." "Are there any shops around that would sell items unavailable in Eubric? If so, I wouldn't mind visiting them. Do you know if prices are cheaper here than in Eubric?"
  4. Um...hello everyone? Are we finished here? Anyone have anything to say still?
  5. Yes, this is how I thought it worked. Pardon me if my post wasn't clear.
  6. I don't think bows do full damage if the target is in the back row, even if you fight from the front.I could be wrong about this.
  7. I pour a venom over De'kra's teabag. "Mizuki, your help was invaluable once again. My thanks for your coming. I may have asked you before, but you have not seen Erik any time recently, have you? I miss that chap."
  8. Cool, I may go for that although I'll see if I have the gold for it. Not sure what to do with myself at this point. However, I think I may go paladin for now, in which case the flail would probably be put to better use in the hands of somebody who will be dealing area damage or at least someone who will be rolling damage a bit more frequently than Pretzel. I will consider it though. It is, isn't it? I can see Barty snooping around in people's baggage now, peeping past his "blinded" eye.
  9. Around how much would you want for it? I think Sandy subtracts the SP before taking the row into account, but just about everyone else does the row first. I think the latter makes more sense.
  10. :Ah, excellent! That is all I wanted to know. Do send her our greetings whenever you may see her. It was a pleasure working for your people and aiding the dragon."
  11. I believe there may still be some Western sets floating around my city back from the day when a couple of the supermarkets actually had LEGO sets in them. Yeah, I guess people in my city are not big fans. The prices are outrageous though, which is odd, because one would imagine that if the supermarkets couldn't sell them at their former prices, they would dump the price instead of increasing it.
  12. Kiray really has a thing with rolling sentinel, huh?
  13. "You seem to know very little of gods and goddesses, but you think you do. It's not worth arguing over really. I am merely doing it for the benefit of the others here. If a god can control the way people think, they will never rebel against him. It's impossible. Also, no one can attain to being a god by one's own power. One cannot become a god unless a god ordains them that power. Furthermore, you offer more confusion over Zoot. Zoot is not a god. Chaos has no being. There is no such thing as chaos. Chaos is merely the absence of order, just as darkness is nothing but the absence of light. Black is not a colour, it's the absence of colour. No mortal can strike down a being from the realm of gods. It is impossible. Gods cannot be effected by material things. Furthermore, how can a god forget? You don't seem to realize that the minds of gods are different from the minds of mortals. They are in a different realm. They see things differently than we do. Their ears can pierce the mind of any mortal and all mortals at once if they choose. As far as your thoughts on mutations are concerned. Mutations are never a good thing. That's just a lie plain and simple. Some may have received special powers from the gods for their service to them, but it can't be caused by mutations. A mutated mind can't make people transport themselves from one place to another. I'm sorry, minion, but you are either strongly deluded or downright evil for trying to spread the doctrines you do. I could speak to you for much longer on this topic, but it seems to me that your mind has been blackened by your imperial thoughts of yourself. You think you are wise, perhaps because of your much studying, but studying books of lies, will make no man wiser to the truth." I turn away from De'kra. He is too far gone. I turn to Flavius, "It was a pleasure to assist you in this way. May I ask a question? The dragon's in Dasten...how are there memories? Do you think Retraga, for instance, would remember me as having cured her? I just think it would be wise if a cleric such as myself would visit her over the next few weeks and see how she progresses. I know that such pestilences as the one she carried, may grow again if it's not properly cared for. Furthermore, the greater the beast the longer it takes to remedy itself. But what I am mainly asking is, would Retraga remember us should we return? We she look kindly on us or only remember the pain she underwent as we removed the rotten core?"
  14. Once Mizuki has turned around, I dig with my magic shovel in the area where Mizuki dropped the 500 gold. It must have been intended for me. "I am sorry, but your descriptions do not match up with what you said earlier. How can a god who can change the will of people at a whim not be invincible? Also, what is outside of God? There can be nothing outside of god for God or gods as you would say created everything there is."
  15. Can scrolls be dis-imbued from artifacts offering immunity to certain effects? If so, wow! I'm rich!
  16. I accept the fancy shield back from William Harkenshire. "So you accept the gold, minion? I know many poor people who could benefit from it. Helping the poor never is a bad thing. Perhaps salvation may not be lost for you after all. I pocket the three Deadly Venoms. What about these venoms? Will you at least take those? Although, as some may know, poison does have great healing properties to it."
  17. "What a nonsensical thing to say! How do you know no one is invincible or perfect? Just because you haven't met them yet. Gods who are not invincible and perfect are no gods at all. If a god is not invincible, then he can be defeated. Why worship a being that may be one day and may not be another. Why would a god need to leave His people to study the universe. You think as though a god must be in one place at one time, but again such a god is no god for one needs only worship him whilst he is present. Clearly you have much to learn about the difference between gods and God. God is not comprehensible. I call him 'God' because there is no fitter word that I can think of. Though the God of which I speak is nothing like the gods of Eubric. Eubric's gods, if they can truly be called thus are are but petty in comparison to the God I worship. One must again consider what one calls a "god." Is a god just an entity that is more powerful than one's self who we cannot quite understand? Tell me, dark one, what is your definition of a god?"
  18. "Sorry for me? Don't be. I have glory and joy to look forward to and here and now to a lesser degree as well. What do you have? Also, are you saying that you are older than me that you call me 'young'? I seriously doubt that. You are not too endowed with the wisdom that comes with age."
  19. "God!" I reply simply. "Call him what you like. People call Ennoc the God of Light, my God is the God of Light, but he's so much more than that as well. Ennoc is but a shadow in comparison to him. You would do well to know Him. As I said before, your way to salvation is becoming clearer by the day."
  20. "We got a lot of treasure?" What does the minion know that I don't. Sorry guys, I think we will wait for Etzel to come back to distribute the loot, I don't feel comfortable doing it myself without him.
  21. Pretzel always gets 7s, maybe I need to go on an Endgame quest again so those 7s can be worth something.
  22. I test the dragon's heart and breathing. "Retraga will be fine. She just needs to rest, for the moment. I do not know if it would be wise to intoxicate her with brews right now after having suffered from that sort of parasite. Perhaps a little later on though." The dragon was an impressive sight even lying down, collapsed on the floor it still retained much of its glory.
  23. I know, but if it's auto-rolling, one would expect to be given a choice or that the more logical choice would be granted. I didn't get it at all.
  24. Although I guess it wasn't an alternative action, but I would assume that since they had received a sentinel they would fight from the front row.
  25. Great! Perhaps I will go for more reputation with the Guild of Invision.
