Heroica RPG - Quest #69: The Hook on the Other Hand
Palathadric replied to CMP's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Because demons are manipulated by evil people or by the greatest demon himself. Hence their actions can never be truly good or pure because they are not their own. Granted some demons can be commanded to do right by good men full of the power of God, but they always prefer to succumb to the power of evil because that is the power that created them. If God had made you, you wouldn't be so ugly. Everything God made is beautiful. Humans, unlike demons, though, are free-thinking beings. Hence, one cannot be held responsible for the actions of another. Because each is different. You and your kind, though...you're all the same." I rush forward and strike the blue assassin from the back row, unless Sylph roots us. Battle Order: >Sylph >Erik >Nessa Dreyrugr >Pretzel "Erik, check what those bars are before you hurl them anywhere, if they're useless to us, the hurl them all you like. -
The gods look great, Sandy. And great article about the Norse ones, Scorpiox. Great drawings.

Well, our surveillance cameras detected somebody performing the action. We will follow up as best as we can. Unfortunately, the individual must have been wearing a black sock over their face. -
Awww...what a little disciple. Oh, no, Jacob and Christian. They're everywhere!

Mafia After Dark - Day 2: The Godfather - Part II

Yes, certainly. The problem I see with your vote on Adelaide is that I don't really see any suggestions from her that she is for a policy lynch. You seem to have taken minor statements and made a bit deal about it in so much that you're willing to vote for her. I would have expected with your arguments against Rolfie that you would've voted for him, but perhaps you didn't feel that his behaviour warranted it. I don't know. I don't feel the need to argue for somebody else, about their own scumminess (Adelaide should be more than capable of arguing for herself), just thought it was something of note as it made me wonder. Something about the way Rolfie voted for you, though, makes me think that he was trying to do it in order to use some sort of "he's only voting for me, because I voted for him" reason, because he knew that if anyone started a bandwagon on him it would've been you. However, you and Rolfie also did, to a certain extent, lead much of the "policy lynching debate" which seems to me like it could've been a distraction from getting people to think about other things. I'm wiped, but have to go on duty. ...Traffic control, you know. -

"Cause a catastrophe for who? You are your gang of villains. I have no qualms about creating such a catastrophe. It would be rather pleasurable in fact to inflict you and your kind with the destruction that you continually attempt to bring upon the noble peoples of the world." "Ah, ha! You admit it! I think 'demon' suits you better anyway." I use the bolas to get up to the catwalk. "Demon, perhaps you can see if you can pull the platform closer to the assassin so Erik can pour some molten liquids down on him. What's in those pots and boxes, Erik? Druid and Ranger, I suggest you keep at him with your bolts and arrows." Battle Order: >Nessa >Pretzel >Sylph >Dreyrugr >Erik -

Come to think of it, perhaps I should heal Nessa and you target the enemy since I have just as much chance of healing Nessa as you, but you have more chances of hitting the assassin and with a stronger hit while at it. I heal Nessa, if Sylph changes his action, if Sylph gets roots of life I target enemy as well. New Battle Order: Sylph Nessa Pretzel Dreyrugr Erik -

I attack again. Battle Order: Pretzel Nessa Sylph Dreyrugr Erik "Battle order subject to change depending on the demon's actions of course." -

Mafia After Dark - Night 1: The Godfather

What's the panic? Afraid of getting lynched for being quiet. Why not speak up more? Funny post, this. Why are you backing away from Shane so quickly, especially since the conclusion you came to seems to have nothing to do with what Shane was talking about. How did he say that we should not do nothing? Of course there is always something you can learn from lynching any random person. More often or not though, it's not worth the cost if we lynch one of our own. I don't know what's the point in voting for someone if you have no real intention of lynching them. If a person knows that you have no intention of lynching them then why would a couple votes cause them to speak up? Maybe I don't think like others though. I don't see Lord Byron or Tam's father suddenly jabbering away because we cast a few votes for them. I don't know how likely scum are to try to lead lynches on Day 1, but I guess they have not much to worry about since on Day 2 it, more often than not, turns out to be a "oops, let's move on" situation anyway. You probably know better than I do though. Also, I don't find waffles amusing. But if you're policy lynching a lot of these things could be seen as either scum signs or town signs. The line is very vague when you're just lynching for the sake of it. What counts then is more whether the person is, in general, in favour of policy lynches or not. Of course, if you happen to randomly select scum, that may be different. But I think everyone here just about, can agree that policy lynching is not advisable and, generally speaking, worthless, although you still seem to be in strong favour of it which is not bad, but at first I thought you were just confused about what it meant. Now with your sticking to your guns about how useful it can be I wonder if you're just putting on a show because a lot of people seem to think that stubbornness is a towntell. So you're just throwing out the vote and hoping that someone else will find something to actually accuse me for? And to think that I just protected you from that dastardly monkey. I don't know who I personally find the most suspicious, but right now quite close to the top would be our captain and Jamie. The captain seems to have his own ideas about what policy lynching is that contradict others, I could be wrong about this, though. However, I think his vote against Jamie seems odd, especially since the first point he mentioned seems taken quite significantly out of context and the second point is highly debatable as to how much we can actually learn from a policy lynch. Jamie seems to have spoken reasonably enough throughout, but her vote against Adelaide was kind of out of the blue and again seemed to be taking Adelaide's statements out of context. Shane's lethargic ways are of course somewhat suspicious. Perhaps he's trying to get himself accused for a silly thing early on, so that when he gets more involved people will forget about him and somehow get the impression that he was cleared. It seems funny, but I hear that scum sometimes do use this tactic, though perhaps I'm not explaining it quite right. -

I sit in the corner staring at Luridan until he starts moving and I realize he's not a plant. Och, my eyes ain't what they used to be. I rise with all slowness and take very slow steps across the floor as I overhear what's going on around me. "I've got some gold to spare, if we need it. Old man like me, can't do much with this weight in my pocket. Although I have heard that in a while they'll invent weightless pockets that can hold millions of items and yet never get heavier. Back to my studying of the plants though. It's all I do most of the time these days. Too old to do much else. But if you need assistance and healing I'm ready to offer my hands of healing."- 630 replies
