How to link Bionicle and Hero Factory?
lockdownTF replied to Agent Fusion's topic in LEGO Action Figures
theres no reason the two themes and probably chima as well can't exist in the same universe but I don't think anyone theme is directly responsible for the others origins -
looks great from the front but from the back it looks a little packed.

oops wrong board mods plz move to the star wars board?

Does anyone else use the short transparent rods you get in allot of the minifig collectible series? The ones that are used as laser beams on the spacemen/woman evil robot and alien figs for example. I used these on my Yoda and Darth maul minifigs to make their lightsabers look a little more their size becuase Yodas lightsaber looks a little to big with the standard rod and Darth mauls double saber is so long you can't do much with him and it makes him difficult to display along side other minifigs if your a bit lacking in space.

[MOC] Hero Factory X4T-RT Land Speeder
lockdownTF replied to Legofan225's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Looks really cool. Could do with being a bit more solid maybe. The whole thing looks like its sort of wavering up and down like a magic carpet. I'd considering trading some of the ball joints for more solid technic bars. -
Looks cool but I'm not overly keen on the brain parasite just sticking out the side of his head.
-
Not bad the colours clash but its not a deal breaker the tentacle like banana fingers are cool and the brain slug build is cool
-
Um ok anything more specific you didn't like about it? It was initially my intention to focus the mutation on one side of the moc. I also wanted to avoid mixing inika gold and gun metal on this moc cos although I like both colours I don't think they go together especially well. the infected side arm was orginally going to be a tentacle but I couldn't find the part I wanted and settled for the claw instead. As for the ignika mask well for one thing it was one of the few masks I had that fitted the brain slug and also I just like using rare masks like that on my mocs. If the set I'm waiting for with a blue brain slug arrives I might try a different idea that involves using barraki glow in the dark pieces to represent mutations.

This my entry to the hero or monster competition. The story is that basically hes a hero who was infected by a brain parasite right off the assembly line who managed to sneak into the hero factory headquarters undetected. one of its first acts was to slaughter His newly constructed team before going on escape and going on the run. More pictures below. Also hate to ask but can someone tell me how to deep link a picture to my moc's mocpage so I can make it a proper legal entrant? http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/363669

Does the brain slug have to be on the mocs head or can it be placed on the back arms or in the chest or something. Just asking cos the brain slug pieces look diificult to combine with hero factory helmets.

My favourite is the one from the blue and black tie fighter set with a lightsaber that lights up when you press the head.

Look's awesome. Were's his spear?

If you have the pieces I'd recomend replacing that double knee piece (the two ball joint claws held together by cross bars) with a short doubled ended ball joint claw with a single in the middle. That'll make the legs a bit more tidy and maybe give you the option to add extra armor or bulking to the knees.

Well a characters mask or helmet is basically their face. If you made your own hero and gave it a spiderman or batman mask it might be hard for people to recognize it as something else. I find it hard to use certain masks cos they in a way they almost steal your creations identity. If I was to make a gold armoured moc and then give it brutaka's mask people might say its a brutaka revamp or variant. Of course while certain masks are very recognizable others are pretty bland and will fit onto any moc and lend itself perfectly to the identity you want to give that character without making people think its an official set character rebuilt.

Stormer super XL and nameless soldier/grunt moc.
lockdownTF replied to lockdownTF's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I've rebuilt the upper chest and torso and the result can be seen in the link below some the pieces still and pull and push at the pegs and crossbars a little but the chest is now much stronger. http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/360851 -
I'll start with the smaller of the two mocs: This guy is a soldier moc I started working on him when I decided to do a black and dark red moc and he eventually resulted. His body is custom and the limbs are fairly standard bionicle/hero factory based. I basically picture mass of him work for baron von nebula or another badguy for the heroes to smash through. Heres his front and back shots. And a quick look at his weapon: Now for the star of the show. Introducing Stormer super XL: This guy took about three days to finish and he still needs some work on the upper torso to make his shoulders and arm joiints a bit stronger. He's also my first moc big enough to warrant using the hulk chest piece. Front and back shots above. As you can see he has hydraulics in the legs and removeable secondary thigh joints to help him stand ok. His weapon a special buzzsaw for cutting through ice and enemy armour among of things. Also painful to accidently step on! thats it folks please comment and critique.

not normally a fan of stickers on lego sets but on this one they really bring the interior to life. -
Looks kind of cool but that arm is an utter abomination. if you wanna remove the ball joints fine but please don't replace it with a static half decorated thing.

REVIEW: 76001 The Bat vs Bane: Tumbler Chase
lockdownTF replied to PhillipJFry's topic in LEGO Licensed
the bane and comissioner gordon minifigs are my only real reason to get this set. Not a big fan of the BAT and the fact it looks like a hover robot with propeller hands doesn't help that much also the tumbler design seems a bit lazy since they failed to include the insideout front wheels and the double back wheels.
