  1. When I do that, rubber bands only on the driving wheels, I still have a significant amount of slow down going through curves.
  2. I can't find photos of the bespin set on the usual hashtags...
  3. I tried bands on opersite sides, and it goes well clockwise and poorly anti clockwise (or vice versa depending on the sides). I'd be interested to hear from people who've motorised it using both PF and PU to see what issues you guys have had, and how you are running it (nose wheel rubber bands are already off)
  4. There is a review out for the Razor Crest. It looks great, shame the release is a month later.
  5. Finally built my croc, using @SamLeCount power functions mod and a combination of various gap fixes that have been posted. Such a beautiful model, my 2nd favourite LEGO train after Emerald Night. When I first ran it I only had the rubber bands on the driven wheels. It ran well on straights but seemed to struggle on corners, because the wheels were at the limit of LEGO radius track and the rubber bands made it slightly bigger. I found that it runs best with no rubber bands at all, if you aren't pulling lots (I've built 2 simple European ish coaches). There is some noticeable wheel slip, and it's pulling power is less, but before it's speed significantly fluctuated around corners. I think the weight of the battery and the motor as well as how dense the middle car build is give it enough traction.
  6. When did technic start using yellow and red axles? I remember, from the mindstorms nxt sets it was always grey is odd and black is even lengths
  7. Have you done the various mods people have suggested such as removing the rubber bands on the non driven wheels?
  8. I asked this question - they are under the cabs at either end - if you look a few pages back you'll see links to videos of the Marklin models showing how they work
  9. That's incredible - can the turntable rotate indefinitely or do the wires powering the turntable track get twisted?
  10. Yeah that's what I thought I saw there was a new show, but there's been no confirmation of LEGO sets for it - it's still too early in development
  11. ? I saw a bad batch logo on one LEGO fan Instagram but couldn't find a source
  12. There are English reviews out for the AT-AT and 501st BP on this guy's channel. He appears to be a German retailer, and you can buy the sets early and get them shipped to anywhere in the EU
  13. To anyone who knows about the prototype: Is there a slant on the running board? In this image of the LEGO model there apears to be one but in this blueprint there isn't. To anyone who's built the model does the blind wheel sit slightly above the rail? Is it due to the slight differences in spacing between the Technic "off centre" hole and how the system ball joints are centralised? Also on the real thing where is the point of articulation for the noses? is it under the cab? I couldn't find any info on this.
  14. I had a feeling that may happen as the clutch between a stud and Technic hole isn't loads...anyways great solution! Will probably use this. Did you have any issues with the IR reliever being buried inside the loco?
  15. Yeah, I think there are about 7 gears in total on this. Pushing it will have some friction, but should be no where near as bad as the Emerald Night with its compound gear trains...
  16. New to eurobricks, not super sure about uploading files. This is a quick idea I played with in LDD for motorising with PF. Battery box is in the same place as PU, IR receiver is placed at the back of the other end. On top of the technic 1x4s and where the PF cable would be, there are jumpers which hold an L motor sideways. The spacing is right for a 20T gear (keeping the gear ratio the same). The roof needs to be modified to fit it. I haven't built mine yet but there should be enough room to run the cables. I don't want to buy into PU and prefer my locos to be powered rather than a wagon.
  17. ^^jang's review said it derailed on uneven track, or track that had odd combos of curves, straights. Has anyone else had this issue? Personally I believe it may be because the ball joints between sections allow for movement on all 3 axes, making the noses and pony trucks bouncy.
  18. Mine arrived yesterday, hopefully will have some time in the next 2 weeks to build it
  19. Had a look through the instructions online. The contrast seems fine when its on a back-lit computer display with good colours, although I don't know how it'll look in person. Early reviews said it was quite hard to see which is a shame for anyone with visual difficulties, colour blindness, dyslexia etc. I get LEGO is trying to make this seem very premium and appealing to non AFOL adults, but a little bit of thought about accessibility would have gone a long way. Also the haunted house instructions are on normal grey so I'm not sure what gives here...
  20. I won't be getting one although I think they look really good - a lot better than expected. I think using circular tiles/studs is better than squares because it's easier to take them off and no alignment issues (infinite rotational symmetry, unless like me you like the LEGO logo on the studs all to be pointing the same way!) My issue with the circles however is dust accumulating in the small gaps between each cluster of 4. It might be quite hard to brush out, and hoovering over small pieces is an absolute no. I guess it won't be much worse than normally displaying LEGO but it might bother the non AFOLs that these are targeted at...
  21. Well I'm glad I ordered mine at midnight - I was on the fence about it, but glad I got it, because now in the UK it says backorders will ship by 15th Sep. Mine is shipped and should be here in 2 days. I really hope LEGO sees this launch as a sucsses, but whether or not we get trains more regularly will be based upon how well it sells across the next 1 or 2 years, not the Train AFOLs refreshing their computer at midnight.
  22. That is a thicc (4 wide) brick seperator
  23. Leaked images for the Iron Man mosaic have come out. It's a 3 in 1 for 3 different looks of Iron Man suits. Seeing as we've had rumors of the SW mosaic either being Vader or Maul, is it possible they could both be options? I'm not sure because the colours are quite different.
  24. My confirmation came through after a while, glad I did buy early though because it's already on backorder in the UK. Hopefully this means it's selling well (not covid limiting stock) and if it keeps up LEGO will sell more trains
