  1. VIP discount worked and I placed my order. Money has been sent, but I have no order confirmation in my email or on the LEGO website. Is this common? I rarely buy from shop at home.
  2. I can probably only budget for one large set at the moment. Should I get the Razor Crest (£120) or AT-AT (£140)? Empire is my favourite of the films, but I really like the Mandalorian, so it's just based on them as sets (also I don't care about minifigs)
  3. Agreed, if LEGO can revert back to the old Rebel Pilot helmet, they can revert back to the old Stormtrooper helmet. Personally I find the new Stormtrooper helmet significantly worse than the old one, wheras I don't mind either way on the Rebel helmet.
  4. Would Disney actively block LEGO from creating any more EU/Legends sets?
  5. Some times repeats are annoying for long time collectors if they don't represent a significant update, but you have to remember that the target audience and mass audience of all LEGO sets (aside from UCS/creator expert/big technic etc) are kids. For example if an 8 year old kid in 2017 wanted a Y wing then its good that LEGO produced one. Collectors may own the 2012 one, but the kid would have been 3 years old at the time, so wouldn't have gotten it. It might not have been the main ship in R1 but it's got a larger audience because it's a classic ship that's been in OT, R1, Rebels. It was 6 years between OT TIE Fighters, so similar point applies. Personally I do own the Cantina, Y wing, TIE Fighter and Falcon that you mentioned, because I started collecting in 2018 and they are iconic to Star Wars. The AT-ACT is quite similar to the AT-AT and one was released 2 years before R1, the only differences being it's taller (wouldn't be in LEGO) and has orange side panels. I wish we got the Cargo Shuttle and TIE Heavy however. I think a lot of these issues of perceived repeats come down to the fact that the ST ships are more or less the same as the OT ships (whether its Disney being lazy, fan servicing or it did make sense in the plot), and in a Han Solo film the main ship is going to be the Falcon. 4 X wings (3 ST) in 5 years is understandably quite ridiculous. I'm quite glad the ST is over so we can hopefully see more balanced waves. I hope they make new sets from R1, Solo (can't think of what they'd do) and Rebels rather than it be a one time thing when the films were new. With the success of Fallen Order and the upcoming release of Squadrons, it would be nice to get some game based sets.
  6. Thanks for sharing. Comparing to photos from ROTS and CW I'm glad they didn't use black hips, it just looks wrong and nothing like the figures. The arms are a bit more complicated. The clones only have blue shoulder pads and the arms are mainly white, so white arms does make sense. However LEGO isn't meant to be an exact copy of the source material and it could be argued that blue arms would fit the "LEGO asthetic better". I wish they'd done dual moulded or blue print on white arms, but I understand why not for a £25 set. Unlike some of the previous comments about figures being too detailed I think this is one instance where dual moulding/printing would look so much better. Personally, if they could only do one colour I'm glad they went with white, but I think this will (understandably) be quite subjective.
  7. Thanks, okay I know you're modification may be flimsy, but Lego when designing from the ground up could have managed to make a secure cover
  8. Nice review and I like the modifications you made. Will the loco go around LEGO tight curves with the mod? If it can than there was no excuse for LEGO not coming up with a solution to make the gap smaller
  9. Hello everyone, I've been lurking on EB for over a decade now, and finally have decided to voice my thoughts. Bit of background info - I'm 18 and so when I was a kid I got both the meligned RC City Trains and in 2009 I was lucky enough to get the Emerald Night - then the dark ages hit so I never got the Maersk or Horizon. I think this set is pretty good, and its nice to see a return to (ex) Creator Expert trains. I think its fine just selling a locomotive with no coaches/wagons, because it 1) apeals to a larger audience and 2) a locomotive with no wagons looks better than a locomotive with one. Otherwise, they would have included one wagon and the price would have increased. Personally I'm not that interested in wagons (I could only afford a 2nd hand Emerald Night without the coach back in the day). The display stand isn't that many parts and if including it brings more people into LEGO trains then, I'm happy for a slight price increase. I think targeting it as a display piece first is smart - will potentially get interest from people who collect Creator Expert cars, and others without large amounts of track. People who are big LEGO train fans with layouts probably have their own coaches, or will be able to build some. I think the loco looks good from most angles, aside from the side profile. That 1 stud gap just looks awful. Surely LEGO could have come up with a better solution using some slopes/curves on either side to thin the gap. Also it looks like the noses are just held on with 1 ball joint which seems kind of flimsy. I really wish they did the wheel sets properly and the point of articulation was under the cabins, and connecting rods could run across all 3 wheels. I also wish they made the cab section 7 wide as well. I get the windscreen piece isn't but the rest of the body could have been, rather than just tiles on the sides. This would have matched up better with the nose sections and been a better scale overall (personally I think 8 wide is too big, but that might be because I'm used to skinnier British trains) That said with the UK price probably being £90 or below I will get one.
  10. Hello everyone, I've been lurking on EB for over a decade now, and finally have decided to voice my thoughts. Bit of background info - I'm 18 so CW was "the current Star Wars" of my generation (although I also have nostalgia for the OT because they were the first films I watched). I never got any LSW sets though, I got my first one back in 2018 when I got back into LEGO. Personally I think this is one of the best waves in a while - the variety and sets are pretty good. A lot of people have been bored of the Anakin Fighter but for me this is great as I don't have an ETA-2. It's good to always have a Jedi Fighter on the shelves because they are iconic ships, but much smaller/cheaper than something like an X wing. Although not as good as the 2009 version, I quite like this AAT. The size doesn't bother me and neither does the gap in the front for the spring loaded shooters, but I wish they used the different shape curve panel, that was less round and less steep. At $40 idk what the UK price will be, but as with most sets I will buy them when they are discounted on Amazon or brand new on ebay, will pay £30 most for it. I will also get the 501st BP and maybe the AT-AT or the Razor Crest if I can find a good deal (probably not both though). I like the idea of a new UCS Imperial Shuttle. It has been 10 years since the last one and its a "true minifig scale" UCS ship. The last one was £250 so adjusted for inflation its just over £320 so I could see them charging £330-£350 if it's even slightly improved. As a big CW/Prequel fan I really hope the UCS Gunship sells well. I hope LEGO take the smart route with this and make it minifig scale but make it more detailed than the 2013 one like some MOCs I've seen (fully brick built doors with the gaps, smooth wings etc). Otherwise they will be making an already big ship unnecessarily bigger and reducing the market. People of my generation if they really wanted to could probably afford to spend up to £200 maybe £250, but not £350/£400. I understand UCS sets are not about play, but the LAATs are iconic for having their open doors with clones inside. If they make it too big, than it lacks the ability to display with figures inside, and reduces the number of people willing to buy it. Perhaps in a style like the Tantive IV?... Unfortunately the comments about struggling with the wing strength at this size make me doubtful...
