  1. Hi. Please tone it down a notch or two. Nobody is insulting your work. People here are discussing the functionality, that's what a forum is for. And nobody asked for free instructions. It is simply stated that the price of the instructions is a bit steep.
  2. I am checking with other staffers if there are any objections. This is a site wide setting, so it would propagate to other forums as well. No problem. That's the reason I asked. If I wanted to make things easy, I would have simply created the subforum But I do think increasing the visible number of topics will solve some/most of our issues and obviously I don't want to contests to be "tucked away" so I'd rather have them here as well. Although I do like the idea of having all the topics in a single place.

There isn’t a forum specifically for building techniques. You can create a topic in the general forum or you can create one in Technic (for example) if the techniques are Technic related.
  4. I had indeed plans for unpinning the HoF.
  5. If there are no valid objections by tomorrow night, I can do some shuffling with forums and subforums.
  6. If there is a contest going on, I'm sure people will visit the subforum frequently enough. I will split this into a separate topic and ask the others. So, contest in a subforum yay or nay?
  7. Subforums are like a separate forum, so that won’t help. True that. Having a subforum per contest is indeed an interesting experiment. I could try that for this contest. On the other hand; we would get a ton of subforums. Or simply merge them after the contest.
  8. It has already been mentioned that there's very little traffic. Hence my suggestion to move it back. Topics will move to page 2 quickly, but at least they get some exposure. And if the topic is interesting enough there will be some discussion. Currently, there is hardly any discussion in topics.
  9. Yeah, that is indeed something I hadn't even considered, but the line between Mindstorms and Technic is very thin these days. The hub is even called "Technic Hub"
  10. Hi, I am contemplating moving Mindstorms back to the Technic forum. Just like Scale Modelling, Mindstorms doesn't generate enough traffic to warrant a dedicated forum. Besides that; sometimes someone needs help building something, which is actually Technic. For example, I am planning on creating a topic for my upcoming robot project. I was planning on posting this is Technic anyway, since the topic will involve asking you guys for building tips and suggestions. This has nothing to do with Mindstorms. I know there was a bit of resistance when we moved Scale Modelling back to Technic, but at the end of the day, this was hardly an issue for both forums. Worst thing that can happen is that Mindstorms topic get ignored, but they don't generate a lot of traffic in the Mindstorms forum either. But as with most of these decisions, I do like to hear your thoughts.
  11. Hi, Be careful reviving and old topic just to ask for an IO file. I found this using Google btw https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=6701
  12. I am thinking about the 11x11 curved gear racks per wheel unit. I will start a concept topic soon-ish. @Mr Jos We might consider moving Mindstorms back to Technic. I was planning on posting my robot topic in Technic because I will be needing some Technic building suggestions. It's great to have a dedicated Mindstorms topic, but if it isn't active (enough) there's nothing preventing us from calling this venture a failure and move things back to Technic, like we did with Scale Modelling.
  13. Done Link And I have filled out the survey myself.
  14. I have permission from the Technic Admin to drop this here Jared needs another 15 participants. Maybe we can help him out. Go to survey in general forum.
  15. I can link it to technic tonight. You will find 15 users there, I’m sure of that.
  16. Exactly this. I think I answered this on one of the previous pages. Simply make them foldable. in short; the model needs to fit in the bounding box without taking parts off. Folding, retracting, bending (hoses) is okay.
  17. We probably will not get another flagship. It takes a lot of time to develop one. We might get two next year though.
  18. It’s off-season for rumor park, since we already know what it will be.
  19. The crane is delayed. The supercar is coming.
  20. Yes, but they may be bended and routed to fit the box. As long as you don’t do any really crazy stuff, I’m sure you’ll be fine.
  21. Sorry, I forgot to explain. Pro = medal winners (Gold, Silver or Bronze) Amateur/Novice = the non-pro contestants (a.k.a. everyone else)
