  1. But we're still getting Dobby's Sock, though, right? I couldn't help noticing that we don't even have a stocking in the AC this year, so surely they're trying to generate some excitement for the official sock set. Keeping us lean to keep us keen and all that...
  2. That was my reaction, too. Do we have any idea how the global supply chain issues are impacting lego's production? I know a lot of the sets often seem to be more difficult to get in the US, which I assumed was part of the reason the Great Hall's run was extended last year to run through this past summer.
  3. I'm hoping the suitcase / trunk contains parts that might address that? I found it difficult to understand what they meant about the customisation, more along the lines of different sigfigs with hair / skin / face variants like in the build your own brickheadz or a variety of torsos to represent the different houses? At some point it sounds more like a collection of minifigs...
  4. (emphasis mine) I'm really enjoying the Moment sets, too, and have them permanently on my desk, my mini Hogwarts at my fingertips. (Love that! ) I've been able to snag them for 30% off, but you need to know your local market, and it depends how you feel about risk, I guess. (25% off sounds pretty good to me, too.) Potions and Transfiguration are expected to stick around, but there aren't any guarantees as to how long. If you think about it, though, it would make sense that they would. There's no Snape in the rest of the 2021 line, and McGonagall only appears in the Hogsmeade set, so she's not part of the castle if that's where your focus lies. There are also no Draco (or Slytherin uniforms), Hermione or Ron in the Chamber of Secrets set, all five of whom are stalwarts of the series (and even Seamus from Potions isn't a repeat in that constellation). Now Hermione and Ron appear in enough other sets that Transifg's future seems less certain (particularly as they were with Harry in Fluffy Encounter, the Polyjuice Potion Mistake, the GWP/polybag, *and* the chess set, where the trio were basically the only minifigs (ignoring the golden anniversary ones, and the alts from PPM notwithstanding) which was both repetitive and over-saturation for a single year), but you literally can't re-create either duel from the duelling club scene with CoS's Lockhart and Justin Finch-Fletchley with the 2021 line without using the Potions Moment set. So until the summer sets give us a Snape and Draco, at the very least, I'd expect Potions to stick around. Plus it probably doesn't hurt chances that they're continuing the Moment series this winter with DADA and Divination. You can contact lego's customer service and they'll send you missing parts, btw. They're really good about that.
  5. Took them a while to acclimate?
  6. And then there's the elephants' appendage. It was even a new part this summer. Element ID: 6346331 The Charms and Herbology Hogwarts Moment sets are slated to go EOL this year. Pick those two up sooner rather than later or you'll see their price jump.
  7. No one. In fact it apparently wasn't even a possible result on the Pottermore Patronus quiz. How strange. But it sounds like something they could work into a Frozen set somehow at some point in the future?
  8. Yeah, I got "View it on the Map" or "Back" neither of which yielded the end result I was expecting. ("See a team member", which came next for me, was highly unexpected.) No button to win tickets and definitely no building of a Snitch, and not even a trace of the (elusive) exclusive content. I'm hoping the in person experience is a better game and makes people feel it was worthwhile. It was definitely glitchy at the end on the at home version.
  9. Stupid question, I'm sure, but if anyone is playing the Mystery Hunt at home, once you answer the questions (and if you can't, I'm not sure we can continue interacting... ) it says: Or did you get something else? Because that hardly seems the proper play-at-home result... (Although it probably doesn't help that my screen is too small and truncated things.) I was at a bit of a loss what to do next (particularly when none of their team members apparated into our home, but then I may have forgotten to lower the wards) and I finally used the form for when all else fails. (See menu, "Having issues?" at the bottom of that menu point there's a button "enter competition") Just so you know that's an option.
  10. Thanks. I'd checked amazon NL proper and spotted the raised price, so I was hoping you'd picked it up in one of the marketplace shops I overlooked... Perhaps they'll offer it reduced sometime again, though. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for it. @drewdotexe thanks for the reminder.
  11. Holy cow, where? (I'm banking that shipping from the Netherlands would still be cheaper than the price difference...)
  12. The thing is I'd rather spend 15 EUR on four minifigs to get the uniforms than 8 EUR on a book I don't want (let alone multiples of) to get just one. And I would expect the AP would come with other parts I'm sure I could use as well. The Quidditch sets unfortunately never have much House representation. I really need that mix and match your own Death Eaters pack, because it's difficult to make the War seem threatening when you only have a very small handful of the opposition. Bring on the baddies! Plus the scene with Hermione setting Snape on fire is one of my favourites in the films. It really helps explain why the swotty little thing is a Gryffindor, as that wasn't clear in the beginning. I was so glad they included it in the last Quidditch set. I find the podrace hands down the most boring scene in any film I've ever owned; along similar lines, the Quidditch matches themselves rarely interested me. That said, if they put out a Quidditch AP, I'm still buying multiples to flesh out my student body. Want. But they took they exclusive Mugglewear Harry torso and put it in the 2021 AC while DA was still on the shelves, and we've seen Cedric released in the Hufflepuff robes "affordably", and even Draco's heretofore exclusive Slytherin firstie robes were put out cheaply (and in multiples) in the PPM, so I am hopeful. I'd love to see them skip Harry. Give us Keeper Ron in kit we can reuse on the other teams to flesh them out. Or any of the Gryffindor ladies, for that matter. Zabini for diversity, maybe Zacharias Smith for Hufflepuff and literally anyone but Cho for Ravenclaw. Roger Davies, maybe, as he was the only date missing from the Yule Ball. Just, please, no more Chos and no more Cedrics, we've hit saturation. OMG YES! Right up there with elf heads mounted on plaques in Grimmauld, and Draco the ferret for things I now need in my life. Is there a wild hair piece that would suit for a MOC?
  13. Couldn't they use the pirate's peg leg? I think that would be cooler. I'm looking forward to the Moment sets, too, in addition to the Hospital wing. The trunk has left me indifferent so far, but I'm reserving judgment until we see some pictures of the set.
  14. Wait wait... You're leaving the house??? lol I think I've completely forgotten how that goes. Enjoy it. But this is a great idea. I might pull out the old dvds for atmosphere; I was trying to make some HP / lego halloween decor...
  15. No, but you can get the misc witchards AP with Borgin. Even if it's an extra one for you, it's expected to go EOL this year, so it's price should go up soon for resale. Discovered belatedly that if you hit the minimum purchase price required for the car GWP you get that, too. Maybe that will help, someone else here. It was 120 EUR in Germany, fwiw.
  16. GWP available in the German S@H. (Side note: if you're interested in getting the Icons set as part of the promotion, you might want to pick it up as soon as you're able this week. Anything Halloween-y seems to be flying off the shelves in some regions, and that's how they're marketing the Icons set beyond just HP.)
  17. Eventually, they most likely will. But when you need eight and they only come in a GWP or one a pop in a regular set, that gets expensive fast. It's still affordable now, but the GWP hasn't released yet, so people haven't missed it yet and started to panic buy the parts. I'd expect the price to rise until they include them in some other sets / it hits the B&P. ETA: November VIP weekend announced. https://www.lego.com/de-de/page/black-friday-cyber-monday-toy-deals (Not sure if that's double VIP points again or not.) GWPs and specials TBA on the 15th.
  18. So far the Modified Plate 1 x 2 with Bar Handles in pearl gold only shows up in this year's Friends AC. So they've used that part again there, but there's only one of them in the set, and you'd need eight of them for the beds. (The lightsabre handle in pearl gold is in lots of sets. The eight required wouldn't be particularly expensive.)
  19. Oh, yes, that sealed box that I am going to tear into seconds later. But absolutely: same. I want that boxed set.
  20. If they want to award that massive golden Harry, I will be forced to revise how I feel about contests...
  21. Agree with @BrickFunatic that the disclaimer (or whatever it's called) occasionally appears on material without the car. It's like their standard boilerplate. Something dear to our hearts hidden... Well that's at least two deer references by means of homonyms (deer, hart), three / four if hidden (hide) counts and it's more oblique. But it also sounds like the second task when Ron was hidden. "We've taken what you'll sorely miss..." We could do with a Ron maxifigure, but after Target reduced the prices on Harry and Hermione that severely, I'm not sure we'll be seeing more.
  22. I'm betting 2023 for a tie in to the in-story fifteenth anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, or 2024 for the more probable time the theme would reach DH (if you figure 2022 for PoA and GoF, 2023 OotP and HBP). And it would help nudge sales of DA back up at a time when interest might otherwise be waning. I still don't think we'll see waves that are exclusive to the books / movies those years, but I'd expect them to dominate the sets released in those years. I'd also bet the 2021 advent calendar reduces the chances the Gringotts will be PS-centric, and focus more on DH so they can get us off their backs. (Plus a substantial portion of lego fandom seems to think dragons and such are cool.)
  23. To be fair, the issue here is a blog / fan site says something, and we so want it to be a thing, get excited and almost inevitably are then disappointed. The fault doesn't lie entirely with lego here (if at all), but (also) with the "super fan"'s constant need for new information and the fan world's need to hype content to get those hits. If we took the initial report that something "big" was coming out of the equation, how would you (plural) have responded to word of a new contest? Indifferent at worst, but I doubt anyone would have been disappointed.
  24. I still don't have Gringotts (also budget, exacerbated by an abiding hatred of pink which would need replacing; but who knows, some day maybe), but in many ways it was a bit of a relief the DA set didn't contain the bank as it was almost sure to come eventually, whereas the stores we got weren't. (Also, we have a number of talented people floating around here who've made more stores, and I love the way they're expanding the street.) I'm hoping for two or even three sets. The above ground bank, the vaults, the Horcrux scene, the dragon, the track... There's a bit of mixing and matching that can take place, some of those things I really want, and some of those things I haven't the space for and would prefer to spend the money on something else. And I'd also really like to some day have some small official Horcrux builds, I'd love Bellatrix' vault and Geminio curse, the Slytherin locket in the Forest of Dean with Snape's patronus, the frozen lake and the boys, the Room of Hidden things and the Diadem... So I'm really hoping Bellatrix' vault won't ultimately be part of some extremely expensive set, but remain more affordable.
  25. Not if it's a participation prize... And Gobby, too, please and thank you. If you haven't seen it, Lego has posted a new video with Neville (Matthew Lewis) presenting his 20 favourite scenes with lego.
