  1. Hmm... I saw shields once. Seems I will need to split this and do multiple orders. Too bad we can't back order this - checking the site every day is a pain.
  2. They were already available? F... I checked every day.
  3. Just out of curiosity, do you work for the lego group?
  4. All you need to do is take sales ratio into account and produce accordingly! Albeit the 2013 linked castle sets were sort of meaningless imo - I am not sure adding a gatehouse INTO the castle made any sense. Although I don't like this particular castle too much I have to admit the competition has a better concept here: https://www.bluebrixx.com/en/bluebrixxspecials/102818/Bluestone-Castle-BlueBrixx-Special https://www.bluebrixx.com/en/bluebrixxspecials/103406/castle-keep-extension-for-Blaustein-Castle-BlueBrixx-Special
  5. Oof... wasnt even aware we got a new ugly rock piece :)
  6. Tbt - now that u mention it... lol Hmm... guess I will need more blacksmith torsos then.
  7. I must admit that I like the current design of the black falcons very much and am still conflicted about the number of knights I want to obtain. With civilians its much easier as you very often just need one copy - i mean, how many blacksmiths does a village need anyway :). I have been slacking with lego for the last 4 years. So much so that I completely missed out on the recent dumbledore and last years tournament knight. The blacksmith shop sort of rekindled my love for the medieval theme.
  8. i guess they just dont want to release too many ideas sets within the same theme in a short period of time. but thats why I am saying they should rethink their business model.
  9. imo Lego should revamp themes and waves and make everything thats historic a sub-theme but with an overarching "plot". Like these years castle sets, ideas and creator - both black falcons. with that in mind they could make the next medieval ideas set follow up on that by keeping the falcons, updating them, adding another faction etc. and also release 3-1 creator sets with the castle sub-theme. That way it could be an ongoing thing with new sets every year and not bound by waves which get cancelled if unsuccessful.
  10. Nice! Looking forward to seeing that film!
  11. Just out of curiosity, how many black falcons are you guys planning on getting? I have been thinking about 20 and maybe a few more depending on how many creator castles I buy (if at all!l
  12. Thx - for a sec i thought u meant black knights torsos are available :)
  13. Could u post me a link to that torso or product id?
  14. I would take the lion knight atm. The fact knights were available is true but doesnt have any bearing on present sets. In fact, lion knights would be so cool right now and if somebody just starts out with castle they have only 1 faction to go with atm.
  15. Nah, bright blue is oldest blueish lego. Earth blue is the darker blue and has been in existense for almost 2 decades iirc. Both are featured in the blacksmith shop. I like the earth blue but not the other. Although I must admit, after building the blacksmith shop I kinda like its roof, hmm. In any case I tend to decide wether to buy a set ot not on factors such as minifigs included and useable parts preferences. If a set contains lots of less useful colors I am more likely to skip it. No, it just has some yellow tudor style sections (the original black falcon castle had some of it too)
  16. I doubt we are getting any more here. Last year we got barracuda and a creator ship and nothing after that - no faction to fight against :). This year we are getting the blacksmith and a creator black falcon castle. When you think about it makes sense to do the black falcon castle as creator set because.... eh... ONE minifig-torso has been produced. Hmm... As for the creator castle I am already disappointed without having seen it. I am fine with more black falcons, hopefully the civilian minifig will be great BUT yellow tudor style? I think yellow was ok back in the day when lego didnt have many colors but why today? No need for that kind of nostalgia imo! Ok I am biased - I don't like basic yellow bricks. Blue roofs? Hmm... if its earth blue... but I see no reason why lego wouldnt use bright blue - as in make more child friendly with brighter colors, I mean we already got the yellow in it so why not double down, lol. I will buy one creator castle, more black falcons are never a bad thing but I doubt the usefulness of the parts will be so fantastic as to buy it more than once.
  17. We are still talking about a kids show, arent we? Its like playing a super mario game - you don't need to have played all games that came before you can jump right in with the latest outing. And of course, the ninjago show is basically marketing, what else would it be?
  18. You are overthinking it imo! Kids don't need to watch a show like Ninjago from the very first episode to get into it nor do they need the early sets. The new sets will be more than sufficient. They protagonists are featured multiple times per year - which apparently never gets old.
  19. I think lego is overthinking it at times. We got so many licensed themes where designers have to stay true to the source material - these tend to appeal to both adults and kids. And then u have lego original themes which are either hit or miss. I agree it can be difficult to put medieval civilians into the context of a set and its much easier to just have two factions of soldiers fighting each other but its not impossible as sets of the pasts have shown. Variety of themes and limited parents' budgets might also be a thing. Some kids can only get few sets per year and will prolly aim for the most popular.
  20. I am not sure about this. Why wouldnt they be careful? They release a new modular building every once in a while. They could do the same with an adult castle line. I can buy 4 sets per year or one set every 4 years. Indeed. It will be very hard to sell those sets nowadays. Thats why adults as target audience needs to be chosen. Creating smaller sets which have some play features that kids COULD have fun with while at the same time providing parts and figs adults could use. I am honestly not sure what your point is here. I thought this discussion was about us and what we would like lego to produce and sell to us, lol. Just out of curiosity, which modern themes are YOU buying atm? Because for me there really isn't anything out there and I am not the guy who spends tons of money on a harry potter set just because there is one torso that I would like.
  21. I like the rat! Lol! Spot on!
  22. My point earlier was lego should provide more sophisticated stuff for the adult audience who grew up with classic themes. I believe there is a market there. And thats how those classic themes can be made popular again. Blacksmith shop is a good start - it should be followed by a few sets that relate to it, with more soldiers and an opposing faction and some village (or princess) rescue set. And next year another big ideas set followed by even more sets. All designed in a way that kids can create their own medieval world. And maybe add a tv show? Seriously, just plain old medieval adventure a la zelda or lotr.
  23. Imo a major problem is: if they just bring out a new castle/pirates theme similar to what came out 5-6 years ago it will just flop and prove lego right in their assessment. Why would kids want any such sets? Just because its pirates or knights wont make any child want to have it. Edit: lego is a nerdy hobby. Castle or rather history/historic themes are nerdy. Nerds dont make the majority of kids - like never. Lots of kids prefer a fun tv show, giant mechas and stuff and i doubt they are overly creative with the sets they are getting - and lego is aware of that.
  24. Is there a website which explains the basics of lego trains for train newcomers?
  25. Very nice!
