  1. Oh dear! And poor Hyphos made the best damn canolis! Sad to see another loyalist die, we simply MUST find the perpetrator of this disgusting act! The traitors will rue the day they did this, as I, General Marcus, swear to find them at all costs - except of course at the cost of loyalists, that just silly...
  2. Thanks, while I disagree about her being the best badguy, she certainly is up there, as for your snow cone, find it yourself! Thanks BigT, a fellow Launcestonian, I really should meet you sometime (you know, when your not stealing all the SW battlepacks ). Yes, in my topics in the Minifig Customisation Workshop I painted a few, one of them grey for a gangster, thanks, and I only used normal paint! And yes, cave in, cave cave cave cave! I swear there is something going on with that fedora, I can't escape it! Thanks though, good to see you picked it up, never heard of BigW though... You want, but you cannot have! Thanks as always friend. I was mean only because, well, I wanted to Hope you can get the set soon (and steal the diamonds!) Thanks, it really is worth it, the pieces are very nice too. Batbrick Away!
  3. Superb entry Svelte-Corps, I love it! I'm not sure on the silver swan build but everything else is remarkable! Batbrick Away!
  4. What a coincidence! My sister's boyfriend and I just watched that film (and then Top Gear!) and I must say I still hate it as much as I did before. Great during day and to night begins the crappiest special effects since Plan9. I mean, why even use CGI AT ALL? Seriously, what idiot film makers they must be when a simple makeup job on actors were all that was needed, it totally wipes any suspense off the face of the earth. And don't get me started on the ending, how stupid compared to the book, just a cliche "Happy Ending!" from Hollywood , and the whole "I must sacrifice myself for the good of humanity!" Er, Top Gear was good though, they made a car into a rocket Batbrick Away!
  5. Wow! Thanks Lego-Freak, Claw-Dette looks wonderful! I'm guessing that means Slime-Face has a different black.orange torso then, as this is distinctly female. Love the use of Spalko hair on her, and witches face, and as always great to have another claw arm. That's three in one set and five total, and I plan on two of the Saw-Fist set, so i'll get six! Batbrick Away!
  6. , yes, but I did like the gate....sort of... That is a pretty corny riddle, but I agree that a small set containing more objects would be cooler. I agree to an extent, for instance, I'd easily put the new Penguin sub over the old one, and I don't feel either had a feeling of misery or darkness as you say. Lego can't go too dark, and I think you are exaggerating the first wave, as the upcoming videogame is very dark for a Lego game like the shorts. However, I agree we need more focus on the city, but i think there should still be small to medium sets like the Batmobile and Batboat, but the larger ones I think need to be done as city sets with the tone of the original Arkham. Er, why not Nightwing? He IS in the world of Batman, he is Dick Grayson, the first Robin That would be phantastic (sorry), the Phantasm fig would look amazing, and it'd be awesome to get Joker's home with Hazel, meatloaf and jetpack Batbrick Away!
  7. Oh yes please! I really need a good heart breakfast following that story, and though I now believe the Friar to be innocent, sometimes the traitor is actually the most suspicious person: Calvin the Fisherman!
  8. I agree there are far too many vehicles now, I really want to see the balance the originals had. But yes, the asylum is awesome. Love the idea, noir can be used quite effectively in such a setting. Or maybe you could even go further back if you wish for a Jack the Ripper or Sherlock Holmes style story? Supernatural would work good too, as long as it wasn't as obvious and present as Gravestone, to add to the mystique. Batbrick Away!
  9. Yes! you are being turned! If you want to get more Batman sets, Arkham and the Batmobile are no-brainers. As for the Batcave, I got mine for 80 dollars off Ebay (as opposed to the 170 price on Lego site) so you can find some really good deals on that one. Goood job getting into the comics again too, I love the Killing Joke. Yes, I think you are being smart by going for the older sets first, the entire first wave was brilliant, and there is still a couple of Batmobile sets at Birchalls if you wish to look. Batbrick Away!
  10. Well technically an artifact alone doesn't mean it has already "been done" as the story involved will be completely different, as the artifact is merely the MacGuffin, as opposed to making unoriginal. Thus, I could include a second search for the Ark as a story and that wouldn't make it unoriginal because of Raiders, as my story would pan out completely different As for your entry, I'd go philosophers stone, unless you can make an interesting way to do the fountain story so it isn't another "eternal youth" story like Last Crusade. Either way, go for it! Very nice entry SirNadroj, I always liked the Golden Ants moc. I have to say thoug,h i'm a little sad you entered it, I was looking forward to a new moc from you Batbrick Away!
  11. Great job, love the conversation between the two, especially the "You wanna live to be my age right?" part. It's always fun playing with time paradoxes, will it be explained how past Galanos got his hands on a time projector? Or will it be left as a highly secret Temporal Whojits? (Which I like as it was amusing) Very interested in seeing where this goes, especially with the ice babe, haven't seen her in a while. Batbrick Away!
  12. As much as I believe in the church I would agree with others that we should question the friar on this matter. And welcome Lord Byron, I hope you can get cleaned up soon!
  13. The poor Friar! Are you you okay good man? May the healing power of the good lord be bestowed upon you. I am now very suspicious of Calvin, while I was so-so on the issue yesterday I now fully believe this man to be guilty, but first I will hear what he has to say!
  14. Spongebob is fleshie? Batbrick Away!
  15. It'll come free, I accidentally ordered a piece for my Niddhog dragon once and I got it for free Batbrick Away!
  16. Oh definitely. Tim Sale is my favourite after all. But then again Bolland is also a favourite and he isn't out there that much, because you need a nice balance. I just didn't like the way The Joker's face was drawn (wrinkly and scarred) in TMWL, but everything else looked wonderful. Jim Lee is great but as seen with Hush he's no Batman drawer. By which I mean, he draws Gotham like you would Metropolis, too bright, too colourful, lacking that Gotham atmosphere. That said I laughed my head off at so many moments in just the first couple of issue alone. Vicky Vale barely clad by bra and g-string for about 6 pages. The "Goddamm Batman" line. Black Canary practically killing everyone in that bar. Robin being told ot eat rats on the same night as his parents murder by Bruce. And then there's later on: Transexual Joker (it was inevitable with the slide following DKR) and Black Canary and Bats keeping the masks on because: "It's better that way" You were out of line, had to be done. And my personal favourite: That said, I don't get here either sadly, but please enjoy! Thanks a heap, though what's up with everyone and that fedora? I only got one strike over two games ironically so I guess I bowled out Wow! That's a load of superhotties! I have to say though sorry, but white evening gown style really doesn't fit Oracle, and I still didn't find wonder Woman attractive. I'm having trouble determining a few of them, I think I've narrowed down Black Canary, is she the one in the longer gown center stage? But, overall: Batbrick Away!
  17. You can always hope! Are you trying to seduce me? Which is why I'm the one with the brains, and you're the one suggesting a parachute suit for every set Seriously though, I can definitely see a Batjetpack figure in one set, ala TNBA or that Justice League comic that no one remembers. That's the funniest thing I've read all day, so blunt! Plus tohse fishnet stocking could be useful for more hookers, strippers and prostitutes for my Gotham City setup. Yes, I'm just using dogs right now which are fine, but if I never get hyenas I might have to paint them Great idea, it would certainly complete the "Submarine" trilogy, but I'd prefer to get his club, the Iceberg Lounge, that would be the best thing ever Good idea, but what about Tim? He's Robin afterall! Plus I think Ra's, Talia and Ubu with an additional couple of Assassins would be better villains. Actually, why not go all out and get it as a huge UCE set? Your wish is my command Are you kidding me? I love it so much I plan never to build it for fear of ruining its, er, awesomeness! I'd rather this too, but either is fine. I just don't want to get stuck with my monster Manbat forever Batbrick Away!
  18. Thanks CF WeaZZel! I'm glad the Hugo Strange face worked, I think that pic did the trick Thanks again, glad you like them. Thanks Brainbox, glad you like the firefly wing, it looks much better now than paper. I agree that Hugo Strange was sadly a neglected rogue, I'm pretty sure he has a good role in Strange Apparitions. Yes, feel free to borrow the Penguin gun, I'm quite proud of it actually, so good yet so simple. I was tihnking about using an islander head but the yellow always gets me. I know you can always say "Well it's just face paint!" but it doesn't convince me. And yet almost every summer blockbuster we encounter is centered around it Yes, but overall I'm happy, a little beard would make it perfect but this is good enough. Yes. Thanks again Brainbox. Thanks, what is it with you people and that hat? Am I to be cursed for all eternity to only be recognised for that one painted hat? It isn't even the first time you've seen it, it was in part 1! Yaaarrggh! I wasn't expecting that! Flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying. I reckon you should get a Batset, the figs are fantastic, just pick up the Mr.Freeze set, it is the cheapest. , thanks, he is a bit strange isn't he? Again!? The Purple fedora AGAIN? What have I done!? I have created a....a Monster! Noooooooo! Why why why me? What have I done to deserve being bulied by that purple fedora?!? Like Dr.Frankenstein himself I have come to regret my own creation! Funnily enough........hehe, in part 3! Thank you sir for your kind and totally needed compliments, I always love it when someone feels the need to post a totally worthless and unnecessary tidbit that contributes nothing when they could have just gone elsewhere, it gives me such a warm feeling inside to know that all my hard work can be summed up by one person just saying there is nothing there they can dignify with a comment. Btw, that little part, it was sarcastic. Please, if you're going to comment on my creations in the future, actually comment on them, it's common courtesy. That said, thanks everyone for your comments! Batbrick Away!
  19. Don't worry dragonator, the game is great and I'm really enjoying it, thanks for setting it up mate. Batbrick Away!
  20. Thanks for the new Deino! I'm overjoyed we get five sets next year, as this is one of my favourite themes ever (and prompted me to watch all 21 bond films again). Good to see they are keeping the story loose, and I love the description of Slime Face, and the preferences of the makers. Maybe a Lego Agents Videogame is next? Batbrick Away!
  21. Thanks, a didn't that one touch just lighten the whole thing up? Okay, here we go, in order of review: Overall moc pic- The overall view is fantabulous, I love how it blends in perfectly with Dr.Inferno's colour scheme and other sets, yet still has its own touches. Despite all the cool things you've packed into it, it hasn't suffered overall in looks, great job there. Vehicle Pad- I love this, great use of the orange exo-force beams, really looks appropriate for the rig. The addition of a chain, and dead Aquaraider hanging form a chain are the kind of touches that really make the entire moc so much better. The little gangway with ladder access to it looks really neat as well. My one criticism is that the plane dwarfs the landing pad a touch. Deck- Love the details here. The gold bars and crates really look at home here in the evil base. I like the "Heart of Operations" directions you've taken with the place as opposed to serving a specific purpose like the Volcano Base with its laser. The couple of computers are good too, especially the one on the rotating plate. Again, the colour patterning is wonderful, love the orange/black 1x2 tyle pattern. The Dr.Inferno eye and thumbprint scanner is another one of these great touches, as is that awesome shark feeder. A simple design but boy does it look cool! Well done on including those oil barrels from the Speed Racer Final Grand Prix set too. Below - Fantastic job on the seaweed here, it looks really effective. That seaplant you love is great too, your own design? The bits of technology, and more importantly, the explosive containers are another great touch, very Blofeld like. But why did you kill me? What did I ever do to you? Erm, the Thrusting Laser Cannon - Its, er ,very suggestive I love the design and quirkiness of it though, and while not as out there as the Volcano Base one, the name certainly makes up for it. Love the light up feature too. The Hairbase: Wonderful, simply wonderful. Love the hair design at the top, though, being a building I would've like to see it more streamlined and less "rough". The look from the outside looks great, really helped by the choice of window pieces and simplicity in looks. The entrance is very nice, the jail cell doors are certainly a unique idea. And as cramped as it is, I love Cindy Borg's little office, with magazine (nice touch with the revolver by the way), letter, flowers and cute desk. The second floor is the best in my opinion, Dr.Inferno's room is wacky yet evil. Love the tiles on the floor and zebra cupboard, and the aquarium ( ). The hairbruch I thought was hilarious (hair-lirous?), but with such a cramped room I'm wondering why he keeps a poisonous cactus in his room At the top, although I believe the villain should always have the best view, this is a brilliant little station. The basketball and pizza are great, I can imagine his metal jaw eating both! And the missiles at the back of the hair is simply ingenious, I'd never though of that. Hoverpod - This vehicle is awesome, reminds me of Blofeld's Bath-O-Sub in Diamonds are Forever, but better. The access dock is sweet, and I love the saw and spearguns at its front. Story- Hilarious, love the bad puns and traitorous FluggyBot, and the Agent trace twist was one I totally didn't see coming! Overall you should be no doubt very proud of yourself, do you plan on more Agents mocs? Oh, and sorry for replying so late Batbrick Away!
  22. Fair enough, i'll respectfully disagree, I just think that a game can have breaks or it does become tedious, and while this is a mystery, I don't think bogging it down with name calling really heightens it. And I don't think vital information makes it obvious, this is a game of tact and bluff, not blab. That said, I am having fun, and look forward to posting my fair amount of post in the next game. Batbrick Away!
  23. Belloq, can you please shorten your sig, it takes up my whole computer screen. Anyhoo, thanks for the nistructions. Loving that volcano base, a piece of art that is and one of the best sets of the entire year. Sure the inside is a little bare, but that chair and talkscreen is cool, and it has a giant flipping laser! So campy yet so cool, I think Agents is my favourite new theme of the year. The figs look cool too, loving Inferno's girlfriend, it's awesome that we get three robot arms in one set. The sub set is very good too, I love Slime Face (official new henchman name), I hope his face isn't just the joker bomb one, it looks more green in the pics. I'll definitely be getting the entire line this year Batbrick Away!
  24. I like the idea of killing a non poster for the story. As for posting, I think my 7's were enough as I contributed, but i would've been posting more if people weren't just making it so damn hard to keep up (looking at you IS and Hinckley), I don't know, I can barely find the info I want to amongst callbacks to Mystery Ship and cheese or whatnot Batbrick Away! EDIT: Just incase anyone takes offense to this post, it is not meant to be that way, I just want to give a reason as to why I have only posted 7 each time.
  25. Hello all, as you might have guesses the promise of a free item of food was merely a front to distract you here! I picked this set up the other day at Toyworld (Sinner take note, you don't have to order it), and couldn't resist making a review of its awesomeness. Like Deinonychus I am a massive fan of the character following her Batman: Animated Series debut, and though the comics version of her isn't as good she is adorable in anything (double meaning there? ) This also marks the very first Batbrick and Brainbox review: First up is the box. Whether one likes the set or not one must admit that the art on these boxes really look great. I'm loving the cartoon Batman Begins Bats in the corner and The Dark Knight logo at the top, a neat touch: Back of the box showing features, I love the bit down the bottom showing all the sets, even if it is a bit depressing as their is not a brickbuilt building in sight: A closeup of the comic strip, I loved how they've gotten her loopy character right what with her crashing into the wall, sticking out her tongue and being saved by Batman: First up as usual are the figs. The new suit Batman is an incredible print, absolutely gorgeous. I love how it is dark grey, really gives an armoured look like in the new movie series, and parts in between the armour printing are a shiny metallic silver colour. Harley is looking fantastic as well, one of my favourite minifigs ever, and the ?one breast? syndrome is barely noticeable in real life. I'm very happy with her face too, she looks deranged, enjoying it all, yet not entirely evil like "Her Puddin'" (Joker). The set also comes with the standard gun and batarang kit. Although I'm entirely over the batarangs what with no place to really store them, the guns are always good to have and a equipping my Gotham gangs. Also included are two revolvers, one for Harley and a spare. Now for the first part, the Batcycle. I expected something not unlike this when we saw the Batpod in the Dark Knight trailers, and while a bit different, it is rather cool looking: That's not to say it doesn't have its fair share of problems. It is too wide, has flick fire missiles (easily removed) and the yellow and blue colours in between look terrible: It looks very cool and mean from the side though, and even sitting down the Dark Knight looks really good in it: Those who wish to mod it though, rejoice! As you can see in this overview pic there are a further two light bley technic pieces which can be pulled out and made less wide, in the process giving it one wheel at the front and one at the back: Hey! Come back with that! Well, now that silly Brainbox has crashed it, we can get a look at the bottom and how it is made: Well, while Brainbox repairs it for me, here is the meat of the set - The Harlyey Hammer Truck: And what a beauty she is, boy was Grevious wrong about this one! It really is a fantastic monster truck, and the colour scheme works perfectly: View of front with the beauty herself in the front. as oyu can see on the left, the hammer has a cool "Wack-A-Bat" sticker on it: It also comes with an easily removable crate with four jewels on it, outdoing and embarrassing The Penguin who only had one From this view you can also see a good look at the wheel attachment, the whole thing is very strong and sturdy: The truck has only one seat but is easily modable for more, I love the adorable "Hit me" (a clue of Harley and Joker's relationship perhaps) and Joker card stickers. You also get a good look at the SNOT work and hammer attachment here. The SNOT is incredible for a Lego set, very gorgeous, and the hammer is really, really simply removed: As you can see here, turning the rear part here (nicely done still in black and red) back and forth swings the hammer. This feature is very fun and doesn't shake up the model or anything, you can also see the very cute "I love Joker" sticker here, a great touch: Finally Brainbox and I arrive to the hottie, me in my Batbrick-Cycle. he in his Brainbox-Mobile: Unfortunately we both get to her at the same time, who will win her? As Brainbox and I fight (I'm winning ) Harley runs off to a new person. Who could it be? Who could she possibly love more than the great Dark Knight? Why, the Clown Prince of Crime, that's who! Noo! Looks like it's back to talking about DC Comics and pining over more fictional characters for us poor comic geeks The entire set in its full: Now for the scoring: Build: 5/5 - This set is a quick build but by no means at all <insert that tiresome argument>. Like the set or not but it gets put together like clockwork and not a tedious step in it. Playability: 4/5 - The vehicles are both great and revving them is a lot of fun, especially driving the hammer truck over stuff. The hamer gimmick is great but it loses a point for the flick fire missiles. Design: 4/5 - Great stuff but falls short of perfection with the flick fires and wide Batcycle. As cool as it is it needs modding. Minifigs: 5/5 - Would've been 4/5 as it only contains 2 mfs for a large price, but c'mon, it's Harley Quinn! Price: 3/5 - Being a Batman set it is expected to be expensive but ultimately it could've been cheaper. Overall: 21/25 A brilliant set with a few flaws, but ones that can be overcome. And Harley. Yes, Harley donates 50% of its greatness Hope you enjoyed the review! Batbrick Away!
