Finally, Finally, Finally some new sets arrived in Tasmania. I bought the Drawbridge Defense yesterday and loved it, though no way should it be 70 dollars when the skeleton tower was bigger and 10 dollars cheaper. Love the figs though. The queen is great, and I finally get a jester, but the best part is that awesome Gold Knight! Batbrick Away!

Murder on the Emerald Express: Chapter 9A
Batbrick replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thank goodness for that, we will have ta eventually land though George? In the meant time I'm all in favour of Bulldog's idea, let's check out them train lines. -
This is so cute! I love it! But really, I've seen this character before, where is it from? To the Batbrickmobile!
-
Very cool, I love how you've positioned the minifigs, really gives the iconic feel of the picture. I agree with the other guys though, it looks cooler in black-and-white To the Batbrickmobile!

Thanks everyone for your comments! Thanks Sandy, I always appreciate what oyu have to say. I was careful to make this ending a happy one, but still fraught with dangers. The suicide mission would've ensured a peaceful world at the cost of the characters' lives. I'm glad I continued this far till the end, I made a nice sweeping saga that I'm happy with, one that really improved my skills as a builder, so I'll be sure to put that to good use. Thanks LuxorV mate, really appreciated. I totally agree with your statement, I wanted to end the story. Doesn't mean I won't revisit the same universe, but not at this specific point in time, nor spotlighting these characters. And I'll be sure to highlight the Crossdressing Lightning Babe eventually! Hmmm, perhaps your wife is the new leader of your forces? Thanks a lot mate. And don't worry, maybe the great, great, great etc ancestor of Lord Dragonatpr might feature as a villain in Interactive Supervillain? Thanks hollisbrick, I really feel that - Wait a moment! Two years? Let's hope the next one doesn't take too long Grateful for your comments Whitefang as always, hope you enjoy what's to come in the future. Thanks a heap Asuka, and as for Wayne Manor, I have something being constructed currently... Thanks Mr Mandalorian. I don't think I will revisit IA though. I might revisit the timeline, like 50 or more years past or present from the story, but I think the story has been told. That won't stop me from making the occasional post-apocalyptic creation though! To the Batbrickmobile!

Thanks for the review, this is simply a marvellous set. I especially love all the references to other themes past and present. The classic space statue is sheer brilliance, and I love the semi-crossover with the rebel descendant of the Castle orcs. The actual ship is a true beauty, really a classic vehicle. It does have a few faults yes, but nothing that isn't easily ironed out. I'll definitely be buying this. Batbrick Away!

Very awesome robot, I especially love the use of trans-orange and the sheer size and menace of the thing. I have several criticisms however. Compared to the main body and arms the legs aren't very detailed. The back also looks a bit off. For one, the bricks aren't connected very well and look fragile, and it follows the Exo-Force rule that the back doesn't need armour. Still, an awesome machine, I hope to see more from you. To answer the question, I want elves so much that I'd be willing to eat my own face to get them. Of course they have to have their tree forts and whatnot, then the face eating may commence! Batbrick Away!

Very neat, I love it! I will echo the small criticism that the arms are a tad too big, but apart from that, near perfect! Batbrick Away!

You guys choose where to go, I'm just gonna take in the sights fer now. This is incredible, I've never been in a prop driven plane before, my daddy always got one of them fancy jets, so this is wonderful. I would agree with going ta the switches should we find 'em! Can I have a hotdog? -
Agents and James Bond similarities
Batbrick replied to samthelegoman1's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
You're obviously missing a lot of Bond knowledge. Let the master through guys! Agent Trace is very much like Wai Lin, Jacinta Jinx and Anya Amasova in that she is a fellow spy, and atleast in my Agents universe, has a romantic connection to Chase. Inferno exhibits many Bond villain traits, including collarless trenchcoat, eye scar (very Blofeldish) and a robot limb, not unlike Tee Hee. The Volcano Base is beautifully ripped from Ernst Stavro Blofeld's missile launch base in You Only Live Twice. The Turbo Car is very much a pastiche of the many classic Bond cars of the years, the ejector seat originating from the Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger. Trace being kidnapped in Speedboat Rescue is very akin to how a supposedly skilled female agent will always get captured for Bond to save, like Anya by Karl Stromberg. Breakjaw is quite obviously inspired by Jaws from The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker. Gold Tooth is an ingenious meld of the obsessed Auric Goldfinger from Goldfinger, and Francisco Scaramanga from The Man With The Golden Gun. The coloured enemy jumpsuits are very evocative of the Spectre organisation's generic minions clothing. A little bit of a stretch, but James Bond has come across many sharks in his career, such as in Thunderball, The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only and License to Kill. He also came across crocodiles in Live and Let Die. The monorail is a classic, utilised also in Blofeld's Volcano Base. Of course the giant laser is very akin to the weapons (space based or not) from Diamonds Are Forever, GoldenEye and Die Another Day. Naturally Agents has many references to other media of course, but 007 is a prevailing one. We really need more juicy "reference" themes, the only ones I can think of right now are the LOTR inspired Castle and this. Batbrick Away! -
This is such an ingenious set up! I tip my hat to you! I especially love the monster whipping the human as he pulls it along. Batbrick Away!

Very neat, though it needs a little more blue I think. I love all the grills and everything though, superb job! Batbrick Away!

Hmmm, you've certainly got determination and the setup isn't bad as a house, but I think Wayne Manor as a minifig style creation is simply too ambitious to do unless you have a larger reserve of bricks, it's like building the Death Star with a few plates. Still, I hope to see more creations form you Batbrick Away!

Some changes to the forum layout
Batbrick replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
Very neat changes, I'm glad we finally have a subforum for the action themes to go, very neat. I'll add my voice to saying that I reckon Post-Apoc would be better in other themes though. Of course I understand that technically it does fit in with the cocnept of Sci-Fi, but I also think it sticks out like a sore thumb and would be more at home in Other Themes. Batbrick Away! -
Hello all, and welcome to the epilogue of Interactive Apocalypse! :skull: If you are new to this exciting Interactive adventure, then you can easily find my previous parts in my profile Last time in the epic final decision in a massive battle with the evil Overlord Dragonator you decided to try to sabotage a nuclear device and make your escape, while a distraction was made: Your raid was successful, the device detonated before the nuclear process could be done, as Dragonator's men seized the battlefield. A heavy price came, as friends and allies were lost. You and Sondra, Ian Ded, Sparks and several Brotherhood members survived. Lord Dragonator perished in the explosion, though much of his legion remain intact. In the time that followed, as you, Sondra and your friends fought to remember why losing so much was so necessary, you remember the recent events of your life. From your original, lowtech base, living only as a shell, without hope: When you first met Exobuilder, departed friend who you can barely remember, and rebuilt: When you lost Exobuilder and new recruit techie Reginald Jameson to the hellfires of The Deadzone, and lost your leg in the process: When you were captured and first met the evil Lord Dragonator shortly after meeting Sondra: When you and Sondra were welcomed by Commander Xenu's crew to their sea fortress after escaping Lord Dragonator's clutches: When you first realised you had so much to lose, and fight for, when you faced his diabolical machinations: When you wept for two years in Dragonator's desert prison at the thought of all your friend's deaths: When your spirits were raised higher than ever before when Sondra came to your rescue: When you felt the awkwardness of such change to the people you once knew upon seeing them again at their new base: When that dreaded sense of the battle to come first shook you at the Great Gates leading to where Dragonator's army approached: And when all hell broke loose, and despite the fear and anger and hopelessness, you felt the determination to make something of the life that was once so absent from you. Now, a year onwards: Dragonator's armies are no more, though a new leader of tyranny has risen to guide his flock. Your old enemy's empire is weakened but still it grows, as does yours. Following the great battle, there was a great period of mourning. But now a newfound determination, that same determination from the battle, has risen. Your girlfriend Sondra still commands, as new bases are set up along strategic points, capable of radio signaling and flare use. As more survivors join each day, the bases become increasingly more well prepared and larger in number. Soon, the new dark empire will attack, and you'll be ready for them: For now, you and Sondra are on another inspection to a newly constructed and manned base, not far from the mountain ranges: An old friend, Ian Ded, is training the newer recruits here, though a woman is apparently sharing command, which suits him just fine: You arrive at the base, to find a couple of Swarm members. The mutant legions are also much diminished these days, but are also not vanquished: You go in, chatting with good friends, new friends, and preparing for the future. For who cannot look forward to the future? Certainly not you, certainly not after all you've come through. Though times are still hard you've found hope, and not even another Death Roller could stop that. This is only the beginning. Diagonal view. I decided that the series should end much in the way it begun, with a single base in the desert. Of course, the circumstances are much more positive, and I thought that my better building skills would be a nice contrast: Inside of the base. As you can see I added a load more elements than any other base I've done: Two barrels of fresh (as fresh as it gets) water on the left and the key to the cell hanging. The fire warms the outpost as well as making the prisoner sweat, while this character here gets some wood to keep cooking his meat leg: Crate of food on the left, and two bunks, one of which Ian Ded is lying on, next ot him a crate of weaponry: Above him lies their most powerful gun, a medical kit, and the access to one of the turrets: The toilet in the corner, which pumps to an outside point. Two crude rolls of paper on the left: The toilet waste outside, I'll leave you to decide what the yellow lumps are: Underneath the stairs, a motorbike, and the final bunk, which is used semi-regularly because of the shift watches: The water well, which using a basic system pumps small amounts of underground water into the bucket. Map of nearby locations on the left: The new recruits, one of which is a cyborg: Final outpost shot: Well done, despite trouble on the horizon the future is not as bleak as it once was. You have survived. Comments appreciated, and a huge thanks to everyone who followed and commented on IA after all this time. You guys are the best and I had a great time making it all, I hope you had a fun time playing Special thanks to Hinckley for letting the ball start rolling, even if I still don't have the minifig parts to make his sigfig, iamded and Dragonator for taking star roles and commenting always, and anyone else that starred in the story, or took the time to comment when a new part came out Thanks everybody, goodnight. Interactive Apocalypse Away!

Murder on the Emerald Express: Chapter 9A
Batbrick replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Sure thing George. It's not the wieners we're worried about partner. Make sure this group stays okay and Eleanor doesn't go crazy, I haven't resolved something with here yet. Let's go a flyin' then! -
No preference. I love both yellow and fleshie figs. Yellows work a lot better for normal minifigs by taking away that feeling of realism and likeness, while fleshie figs work a lot better the opposite, by actually looking like the characters they're meant to be. Batbrick Away!

MOC - Small Agents Helicopter
Batbrick replied to brickzone's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Brilliant chopper, I just love it. The winch mechanism is a neat detail too, and I can really see the similarities with the police chopper, though yours is better! Really looking forward to that base too. Batbrick Away! -
Hmmm, I'm still not hot on the Pitstop, but the Maximum Security set is looking better to me, though I would probably mod it if I bought it. I guess it depends on if it comes to my store, because I likely won't be ordering it. Batbrick Away!

Hey Gamer, sounds neat. wiuth your Batman moc, I would definitely recommend doing Mr. Freeze's base. Arkham and Wayne Manor are very, very big, so unless you have a load of bricks I'd say go with that. Mr Freeze's base traditionally has a lot of white, grey and transparent blue, making a lot of equipment, ice and of course a cryogenic chamber for his wife. Goodluck with it! Batbrick Away!

Defnintely agree with Oky on having Incredibles sets. They would make the best figs, and the sets would be just brilliant. Plus I really want another retro style robot! Batbrick Away!

Murder on the Emerald Express: Chapter 9A
Batbrick replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
I agree, Grill'N'George is very suspicious right now. I ain't no judge, so I won't go pestering him, but let me just say we need to keep a close eye on him. He knew that we needed to find out about the town, and deliberately withheld information. In my book, that act isn't one ta be glossed over. To George: After we look around this here plane of yers, I'd love to go up fer a spin if that's all right with ya. That way we can get a clearer view of what's happenin'. Just a short trip though, ya understand. To Shmelt, Jim and the others: I hope I'm makin' the right decision here, but I want ta determine if he's ta be trusted, and if he's gonna go up in that plane, one of us might be best ta keep an eye on 'im. That is of course, if he can even get it ta take off.
