Murder on the Emerald Express: Chapter 8
Batbrick replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
We may need ta split ints different groups again, there seems ta be quite a few clues that need a reinspectin'. I'm in favour of this, that farm there seemed to have a lot more than we really checked out. Not ta say that any of you farmers were suspicious Jethro, quite the opposite, but those separate tracks, and the tools to which Jeb constructed that there handcar seem interesting things to look into. Plus there's that oil tanker. I'd much appreciate that Scruffy Ruffy dog thing, I don't know Jeb well so I can't judge his behaviour, but you know 'im. I say we return with a calm demeanour, check the tracks first and the oil tanker again (ya never know) and if that yields nothin', we'll return ta the farm and ask if we can see the tools and materials he used ta construct the handcar. -
Yeah, that was a great episode indeed, good to finally get women on the show too. I loved the Batmech, great reference to Kingdom Come: http://comiccoverage.typepad.com/.a/6a00d8...80263970b-400wi Just ignore the Bamobile to the side, this is the only pic of the panel I could find. Also the classic line: "The hammer of justice is unisex!" I like this one, but indeed it was a touch disappointing for me too. Booster Gold is one of my most favourite comic characters ever, he and Ted Kord (Second Blue Beetle, dead in this series) were the hilarious jokers of the Justice League back in the day, always trying out new get-rich-quick schemes. In the comics he is pretty self obsessed true, but though i think this was a good adaptation of him he was never really useless like he was here. This was indeed awesome, I loved, loved and loved the teaser, which had Adam West references galore. Crazy Quilt was actually somewhat threatening too, who knew that could be possible? Loved this episode so much, easily one of the best so far. Really though, its best to chock up on a bit of comic knowledge to truly appreciate it. The reference to BTAS is only one amongst many, the Looney Tunes references were there, especially a "Duck Twacy" one, along with a chockful of comic references such as the suit changes. Plus we got to see Ace the Bathound again! Oh, and Shaggyman is a real DC character! Yeah, this was a very good episode. While i wouldn't want the show to tilt this way, it was nice having a more serious and sad episode for once. Hey! That was my theory! Yeah, I heard about that episode, which features OMAC (One Man Army Corps) with Libra as the villain. Given how similar Equinox and Libra are, and how Krull was supposedly going ot be Vandal Savage in the previews, I'd say it's a good bet that it's him. Batbrick Away!

Best part of this story yet KDog, I really, really enjoyed that twist, took me by surprise, despite the clever clues you planted earlier. Very neat shot of the Thunder Drill erupting from the wall too. I would've thought two baseplates would look pretty mediocre, but you managed to shoot it at an angle that is really effective and looks great. And really, really looking forward to the 200th comic! Murder on the Emerald Express: Chapter 7

You twit! I was going to confront her 'bout that later so you say it in the open! Are you mad!? Agreed, Jethro is most certainly innocent. Jeb seemed pretty good too, but again, I'm a trusting guy. *Moment of heavy panting in front of the gun before relaxing* Damn, I think I really did kill him... I'd settle down there Greaseman, tantin' won't do any good, an I need to square things with Miss Eleanor. I agree with the others too, now that we've determined the approximate location of this here train, it'd be a mighty waste not to take advantage of that oil tank. This "X" thing sounds a might bit intriguing too, though honestly I think we need to get our heads straight, an I ain't no team leader. Perhaps a certain hand of fate could decide on whether the johnson rod is correct, given that the public opinion is flying back and forth like a tennis ball at Wimbleton. -
Nice, an extra length one! I love Shatner's melodramatic poses here, and I did get a giggle out of the species being here "as long as they can remember...thirty eight days" Looking forward to the next part of course, and very neat list of the thirty best Lego figs too, I agree with most of them except for the UFO figs, which I actually do love as they were my first space sets, but I don't think they quite deserve to be on the list. Murder on the Emerald Express: Chapter 7
Batbrick replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
A girl planning to blow up a town with a tanker, sounds a bit drastic don't ya think? Anyway, my group © went ta the farm, where nothin' mighty suspicious occurred. There was two accidents, one in which Herman was injured in a bear trap left on the stable floor, and another when Bulldog and I (Austin) tried to figure out a still in the bush, and it exploded. It also hurt mighty vicious. Anyway, we took a handcar outta there, though I hadda run because Herman is a bit of a moron, no offense partner. We did indeed pass that tanker you speak of too. Basically we have returned with what could be the Johnson Rod. I'm not suspicious of Jethro or Jeb, as though there were accidents they both helped us ta get back here, though then again I ain't a suspicious person either. Though both farmers did indeed speak of how the Willoughby residents are trapped, as did Scruffy, the talking dog.....I shoulda left that last part out huh? -
What? I don't even remember what I was doing there that night, I was drunk! And I still find it hard to believe I it was here hubbie, she said he was dead, and I'm almost half-certain I didn't kill someone. Listen, all I remember was havin' one mighty splittin headache, and remembering that I ran over someone in a crowd. It weren't no big hit though, I remember bein' all concerned at the time, but I looked back an he was still movin'. Now I'm a nice guy, I've had past mistakes, heck, I only drink about three fourths what I used to, are you done sure that I actually killed her hubbie? No way partner, if I done there some awful crime form way back, I wouldn't be a man to go unconfessin' it! I am not backin' down from this one, should this story be true, and I still have some doubts mind ya, then I will meet Eleanor face ta face, not be a coward. That's the first thing my father taught me.

Give her a break, I did run over her husband after all Seems Eleanor is gun happier than I thought, which means my character is one hundred percent screwed when she finds out it was me. Ironic, since we got along so well at the beginning of the game. Batbrick Away! -
No apologies needed Bulldog, bar your hard work in continuing down the tracks. That was Eleanor's hubbie? Now I highly doubt that partner, what makes you think that?
-
Oh thanks partner, 'ppreciated! Sorry about that little spat I had earlier *gives Herman the longest hug ever recorded*

Aheh, heh. My character has gotten a little angry for being left behind twice despite having remnants of illness, so I've posted a nice rant for Herman, Bulldog and mysterious narrator man :skull: Batbrick Away! -
*Starts a running rant* That's it, I consider myself a nice guy, but I've had it! I thought you guys were my friends but clearly not! That's right partners, I'm going to get you, Texan style! There will be not a tanker or tree to hide behind because I've got hunting skills like an eagle! I'll get you! And when I do, I'll put your flipping guns to shame Bulldog, and bash you and Herman's faces together with the power of that locomotive we're trying to repair! And don't even think yer gonna get that kettle back, or any of my get-rich-quick schemes, my father will see you burn for this! He's a rich and powerful oil tycoon, you'll never leave the state! In fact, yer will, straight ta Texan jail ya morons! See? Ya underestimate me ya see? Ya think that just by peddling inta the distance you'll be a free of me boys? Think again if you can manage it! Like I said, my father'll her bout this, have you got power equal to his? I don't think so! I don't think so, that's power not even money can buy, though it helps! And I doubt you got that kinda money! You hear me boys! You take on this Texan and win? no way! You may be a bulldog, Bulldog, but I'm a raging BULL! you are the dogs, and I will run you down! Don't think I'll get tired and let up! Not even a gallon of beer will drown out this memory, it certainly didn't the last time I ran over someone, and that was at a wedding! So don't think you can go to any harmonious place to escape my wrath! Because I will shoot you down! That' right! SHOOT. YOU. DOWN. So ya better stop that there handcar, because that's the only way yer gonna be able to live this down, and by extension, live at all!

Best. Chapter. Ever. Love this so far Sandy, the characters are certainly intriguing me, and the use of time travel here is delicious. Rosette and Sandiago are interesting as a couple, but I think we need o learn a little more about Santiago too. But not Anne! She was one of my favourite characters! WHY? Very good writing though, I like that you didn't give her a typical Hollywood death. Jasper and Rosette's father (nice revelation there too) are certainly a good addition to this chapter. The hardest part for me is the decisions. In the end I chose: Cougar Claw and Trigger to survive, because they're great, Rosette and Santiago to survive, though I may kill one later, old Jeremiah because he'll always be cooler than younf Jeremiah, and of course the awesomesauce that is Ferid, I really want to see what happens with him. I want the Jeremiahs to sit down in talk. Melting is creepy, and the latter option doesn't determine which one will one, or if they will die I chose for Rosette and Santiago to become friends, because it'd be a bit of a cliche to have them fall in love, "Crossing the boundary of original hate" and blah blah pointless drama! Nah, I'd rather they become good friends, keep Cougar and Trigger together as "the couple". The last one is the hardest, as I was hoping Ferid would befriend Anne. I'll say someone form the other group, someone who is a bit different from him, rather than war and conflict torn Sergie, Trigger and Cougar. Really looking ofrward ot the next one Sandy! It's so cute! Despite wishing it was more airtight, I really do love it, especially it's compact shape. Batbrick Away!

I love it! The use of brown and grey is a favourite of mine, and the really inventive use of boat pieces is astounding. Brilliant job, and please make more! Batbrick Away!

Very neat, I love the colour scheme you've chosen. The actual shuttle is very well built, I espeically love the use of wheels as thrusters. The main sitting room is very well done, good job of packing so much into such small space. The escorts also look good, but I agree with SuvieD, I think they need proper cockpits. Overall a great job though! Batbrick Away!

Beautiful, love the simplicity of the wall design, really gives that prison block feel. The auto-turrets looks fantastic as well, rather retro. Is the sloping wall attached to the rest of the creation, or does it sit there? Batbrick Away!

Wow, that's some heavy prices there, I'm really glad I snatched them up when I did, me being a huge DC fan and everything. Still, I would've liked to have bought another Arkham atleast... Batbrick Away!

I'm very happy with the Australian prices for the Agents sets. The two smaller ones at $15 and $30 respectively was expected and quite welcome, as was Wheeling Pursuit at $50, but I'm quite glad that Robo Attack ended up ten dollars cheaper than I had assumed from the American price exchange. The helicopter I also expected to be more, as Lego often markets large helicopters at a steep price. Put me down for atleast one of each set! Batbrick Away!

I honestly couldn't care less about Ben 10. That's not to say it is a bad show, I can't judge that as I haven't watched it. I learnt that lesson when I condoned Teen Titans as awful; it was only when I saw the series in its entirety did I see how truly good it was. Truthfully though, if these end up as system sets, and I pray that they will, I'm sure they will have some very sweet figs and pieces in store for us. So even though I'm not psyched about the show I can definitely get behind some sets. However, like many others, I'm really afraid that this doesn't take the classic brick approach and tries something silly. I don't want another Galidor, Ben10 could be perfect parts packs in production (Excellent use of alliteration there Batbrick!) so I'm definitely hoping TLC doesn't take any drastic steps. Batbrick Away!

*With awesomely renewed strength granted by some sort of narrator, Austin's sickness leaves him as he stands up, wipes away his tears, and begins running, eager to catch his friends as fast as some well written analogy*

How could you? Now I'll have to run! The bugger left me behind, of course there's bad feelings to be had! Batbrick Away! -
C'mon guys! This isn't funny! I can barely walk and yer takin' off on me! ... I think this Texan's gonna cry...
-
Excellent news there partner, I can lay down while these here fellows make our passage! Well that's great news there Bulldog, because I'm sure you'll be great use making our single trip very fast I'm in agreement Herman, lets be cautious, 'specially after all them injuries, not least mine. 'Course what's the plan ta return this thing? Who knows what's at the end of these tracks, but I'm betting whatever is, is a long way away, you sure yer up to haulin' yerself all the way back Jeb? If so, least I can do to make it up ta ya is to share some great get-rich-quick schemes!
