  1. Beat again. Still, its a great magazine, and I only collect the issues that contain movies I am interested in. But atleast I get it first X-D Yes but changes of structure in the Multiverse was never that original either. Personally, I don't care if continuity is broken for the sake of a good Batman story, why they go to such great lengths to back things up I'll never know. And Myx is great like you say, can never get tired of him. Two-Face, my favourite Bat-villain, two times better than the Joker *wub* Today I am going to see I Am Legend in Imax, so I hope to see the prologue in full screen. I won't get my hopes up though, as I've heard it was selected theatres only. Still, seems like Nolan is doing a great job at juggling the characters, I still hope scarecrow gets a good role, however small. I just wonder what the trhird film could be about. I know, we haven't even seen TDK yet, but Two-Face is generally a smaller, more personal villain than The Joker, in that he doesn't plan to blow up Gotham or anything. Either the third film will have smaller, more personal stakes as Harvey Dent turns vicious vigilante, or a new villain is introduced as well (Catwoman? Talia? Bane?) You'll love them. Though I haven't read them in a loooong time. Which is good, there'll be a few surprises when I read them again. I don't care if it is preliminary, I just want to see them! I still have a small trace of hope for newer characters and a fedora Joker, seeing some of the prelims versus final versions of the other 08 sets. Though I think there HAS to be atleast one more new character, I don't think TLC would just give us a single new one. I agree, Gordon is a must, and if Lego does not make him then that is just plain unforgivable. I've also been looking at the prelim pics a bit more, and I must say I've warmed up to the Scuba Jet set. Its great to have another vehicle for Robin, and this one is rather cool. It has green engines which is great, and seems like a nice compact design, which is good because I really didn't want a giant Robin vehicle. I also think the angle of the pic exaggerates the peice at the front of Penguin's sub. I think it will be a lot better proportioned in real life than in this pic. Plus its another cool Penguin vehicle, and we get a lot more little penguins which is great. Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  2. Not exactly a subtle reference ;-) Two-Face's it is then, next time.... Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  3. Fair enough. I'm glad you understand what I mean. I think a theme that involves military vehicles but not military action would be a great way to go. Whether it be Area 51, Post-Apoc or something like Dino attack, I think as you say there is always a way around, that way everyone can eat their just deserts :-) Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  4. No offense, but thats your opinion, if you looked at my more recent posts in thread, you would see my comments changed. I will state what I say as opinion I merely say that though a military theme could possibly happen, I don't think it will. Because in my opinion, you seem to fail to lack the difference between a violent theme and a war theme. I think it goes like this: Indiana Jones, Batman, Star Wars, Agents, Pirates and Wild west all contain violence, but, this is the important part, aren't about violence. Contain it, yes no doubt, but Batman is about Superheroics, Indy about Adventure, Star Wars about space films, Agents are a campy spyfest, Pirates are about Carribean Adventure and Wild West about the tales of outlaws and sherrifs. None of these themes, in my opinion, are about violence, but instead contain violence. Two different things. Now war, in my opinion of course, contains violence and is about violence. It doesn't just include violence like the other themes, violence is the driving force behind the set's story. So thats my opinion, I respect yours, you can respect mine, but I hope you can argue your point without telling me my argument makes no sense, because though it might not possibly be right, it sure does make sense :-) Batbrick is Back! >:-) EDIT: and sorry about the heavy use of bolding, I just wanted to put emphasis on certain parts.
  5. Well I just realised I haven't commented on these :-$ Anyhoo, I love the Coast guard line. Definitely redeems City 2008 for me! Kayak: Great little impulse that makes me happy that the Kayak is brickbuilt. Great way of getting lots of life jackets I don't have, as well as that cool helmet and a paddle which is ALWAYS handy. Quadbike: Not much to say really, a cool little set with a cool minifig. Car and Jetski: Very nice, loving that little jetski. A cool 4-Wide car too, with nice details. Truck and Speedboat: I actually really like this one. Big pieces are used sure, but used well ;-) . The speedboat mold is cool, and I love that truck. I know it is eight-wide, but really, its for the beach and offroad, not town or city center. Overall I like this one very much. Helicopter and Liferaft: Love this one, get a bley shark, sweet little life raft, and an awesome helicopter. I hate those giant airplane pieces, but this one is used excellently. Its nice to know that TLC is admitting its mistakes and atleast trying to use these pieces in versatile ways, as seen in this and the MM starship. Harbour: Best of the bunch, I love it more than this year's harbour. Great ship, bley shark, orange speedboat, beautiful lighthouse, cool dock, and more. I will definitely get this one *wub* Overall, I think 2008 is a great year for City, I will probably get the Kayak, Quadbike and Harbour. I would like to get more, but my money is on Castle, Indy and Batman. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  6. Thanks for this wonderful and detailed review Cardinal brick! And welcome to Eurobricks as well! Your review is great, I feel as if I don't need to see pics infact. I love this set, its a truly original and fantastical design, and cannot wait to add it to my collection. Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  7. Uh.....anyway, my town Yettobenamedville, recently- oh what the heck! I've built a few more weapons for my my town, including a defense gun, new weaponry for policing and a supply armoured truck. I'll post pics soon, though feel free to make fun of the truck when I show it, it ain't pretty... Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  8. That would be very interesting to find out actually, to see exactly what their stance on weapons and such were and what limits were involved. I almost wish guns never entered the realm of space, I just loved the idea of exploring spacemen like in Classic Space :'-) But who could argue against the supreme articulation that was the jellies? Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  9. :-D , I get that too. I also have a theory that everytime I take half an hour typing up a HUGE rant almost no one takes notice of it :'-( Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  10. Yay! Another Redman review! You are an excellent reviewer iamded Redman, your pictures show all the details included in the set and your thoughts bring new light to features and bits I hadn't noticed or thought about before *y* I love this little set, I will get two I reckon, because I want all the Wizard bits in a minifig box as well. Nice little humorous pic at the end too. One improvement I think could be to include the pics of the back of the box and other side of the instructions anyway. Honestly, there isn't much to improve, you are an excellent reviewer :-) Redman ON! Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  11. I thought he was...... :-P I get what you mean too, and I probably am romanticizing their stance as you say. However, I still that a military theme is beyond them........for now.... But you are right in saying they are no longer pacifists, I guess the only way to tell whether a military theme will happen is to simply wait. After all, as you say, those guns aren't exactly peace shooting love weapons :-D Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  12. I like them both, why can't we all get along? I think I might use the new torso as an "Army to the East" thing, a legion of troops assigned to defend against the troll invaders, while the old torso is situated somewhere else. Like a uniform for each sector. Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  13. Love you too iamded! *wub* Yes, I also stated this in the "Your Ideas" thread. I think a post-apoc theme would be a great way around the "War" thing. That way, like you stated, you can get tanks, jeeps and bases, but with men fighting mutants and monsters. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  14. :-D , I understand what you mean. I guess I did word that awfully. I simply meant that there is a distinct difference between violence in an adventure based theme, than violence in a violence based theme. War is all about violence. Batman contains violence but is not about it. Sorry, I'm awful at wording these things, but do you understand what I mean? :-$ Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  15. No, you think its possible, others think not, but until TLC releases a military line, I'd say they were against it. Why? Because kids love military things and war toys, and if Lego did drop the "No Violence" policy, then they would have made this theme eons ago. Thing is, they haven't, so I think the "No Violence" policy remains, just a lot looser than before. You can argue about the "evidiedence" being all around us, but ultimately, if a military theme was "very possible", it wouldn't have taken this long. I think we will never see a Military theme, because military = war, while Western, Batman, Pirates, Agents and others = Adventure. Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  16. Thanks for those extra pics TinyPiesRUs. It confirmed now: I.....MUST.....GET.....THIS.....SET! :'-) Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  17. Really? The mutated animals are my favourite part about this line. I hope the heavy use of guns and violence is removed from the final versions, so that the Agents line can be a cool, ultra-campy spyfest. Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  18. You picked a bad first Batman movie :-/ I watched "I Now pronounce You Chuck And Larry" last night, eeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......... :-X Not only did the movie horrendously stereotype everything and everyone, it was just plain unfunny and awful allround. Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  19. I don't want to see a battle or war or military based theme either. I would rather see the return of Western, Pirates, Rock raiders or Space. Or a new theme like Romans, Greeks or Post-Apocalypse. The idea of a military theme seems beneath Lego, it would be like sinking to the depths of all the other clone brands trying to make a cheap buck off gun happy kids. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  20. This is an excellent mod Alex54, I think I prefer it to the original. Six stud wide just looks more natural to me, you've done an good job of converting it *y* Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  21. I'm now working on creating more creatures and characters for my Interactive Apocalypse. I've built a couple of monsters, and today I plan to mod the base and start creating The Deadzone! *skull* I also made a couple of things for the EN, which I hope to post today. Batbrick Away! >:-)
  22. Surprisingly, yes. I like many different themes, and though I don't exactly "focus" on City, I do collect it as eagerly as any other theme. You've done quite a good job on this TheBrickster *y* Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  23. Wow, thats a really good design. Funny how the inner workings look better than the actual hull, nice use of the engine peices too *y* Batbrick is Back! >:-)
  24. Fort Legoredo for me. Its just a classic set, and practically perfect. Batbrick is Back! >:-)
