  1. superb, that paint sprays can be found on amazon, right?
  2. Sounds awesome. Not sure if it is directly related to this- a bit interesting thing that I observed is- before putting the final body to the chassis of sets like 42110 42111 42056 etc. the Technic looks really technical and to my taste, more appealing. When you put the seats on the chassis of 42110 it looks really cool. Same to say when 42056 is in this stage
  3. I still am hoping for a surprise 2020 set. Heard somewhere in this forum Grohl did not make any model this year (yet). Add to that Lego's foolishness regarding Osprey- needing yet another (official) set this year is not too much demanding it seems. Rumors come routinely sets come out routinely. yawn, a surprise set could be a good fun to look at. It could be something which is very experimental like the 42110 with huge amount of gears or something else ?
  4. I think a SUV/Jeep like Ford Bronco or Hummer H1 or H2 should be released from Lego as a Technic set that will work as 1. a spiritual successor to Lego 42110 2. correct the problems/issues the LRD had faced (like too much gears crammed, suspension could not load the complete body eventually which also is a problem for other type of vehicles). I know with little to moderate tweaks people have remedies for those problems but for greater audience, the improvement is indeed needed.
  5. Interesting. What if our Defenders are set at Position #2 (Moderate strain, minimal vibration) when stalled. However, due to High number of gears involved in the rear (part of) gearbox it unfortunately bends a little to moderate when in 3rd/4th gear during moving forward or backward and thus enters into the Position #3 (Incredible strain. ridiculous vibration, poor pinion vibration). Position #04 did not and most likely would not happen. But position #3 could be possible. I am also waiting for an answer...
  6. I sense, beside the Lambo, the trailer (or hauler) of 42114 will provide MOCers plenty of pieces for a yellow (or orange-y) supercar mocs
  7. So the FKP 37 [still] following the 42110 footprints? ?
  8. I see you made changes/mods to the interior. Did you make changes inside the drive-train, gearbox etc?
  9. Please dont be such brokenhearted. People like you are the hopeful and brighter ones and the reason noob people like me lurk around the EB forums, buy their first Technic in last 19/20 years and get pumped up about buying a UCS one. Btw The 20t seems seems to affect the 42115 (most prolly) too as I see on the thread.
  10. Nah. I think you are right. Someone in the 42110 thread confirmed. He used the older ones prolly from his arocs into his Landy and achieved better results in terms of reducing the frictions. The newer ones are thicker (less tapered) it is a shame. It was discovered several months ago. I think it is time Lego seriously fixed this/reverted it back to the old superstars. Or maybe this is how Lego cough cough enhanced the Roaring part of the Lambo from their super cool (where almost everyone believed light will glow in the darkest times ?) commercials. Just for a joke. Sorry if anyone is brokenhearted by this.
  11. I can confirm that. The connector is in its place yet crap happens. Rather I observed if I play with the vehicle in 3rd and 4th gears (too much resistance) it causes the connector get loose, making things even worse. I think the connector cannot tolerate the force/resistance and hence it gets loose/out of its place.
  12. I can understand your sadness. I have seen the cracking behavior of 42110 changes after 2/3 weeks in the following way for this particular scenerio: D/Hi/1st-4th gear, forward moving of the vehicle If you have the Landy built up, ended up having cracking/clicking one. You are usually expected to see: 1. No cracks at all in D/Hi>> 1st and 2nd gear (either backward or forward moving) 2. Occasional and continuous crack from 3rd and 4th respectively (little to less crack in backward moving). Especially in 4th (forward moving), you are expected to see the Landy acts like a reverse pullback racer as you have mentioned. It's like you push the vehicle (forward) a bit, push farther a bit. It then faces incredible amount of forces causing it to behave like a pullback racer. Now leave the vehicle at your display showcase for 3/4 weeks. Now, you will see this: 1. Continuous cracks/clicks in D/Hi 1st/2nd gear. I remember just after the build, the engine piston started moving almost immediately it did not even need one metre. It is now worse. Takes 1+ metre to move. 2. Continuous cracks/clicks in D/Hi 3rd/4th gear This time the difference is despite the clicks there is no pullback stuff going on in none of the gear shifts! For backward moving I found it changes for 2 phenomena. There is no cracks at all in the 1st and 2nd gear when vehicle is moved backward. However, cracks might or might not happen even in the 3rd and 4th gear in backward moving. This is why flipping the diffs to 180 degree seems to be a (not so solid) solution. My last built was around by the end of 3rd week of March, 2020. For this last build as soon as I finished building I did not start playing or torturing it (with a secret hope it won't change that much lol). Yet that phenomena could not be avoided (cannot avoid the dust lol). I find after the phenomena the gearbox's cracking behavior does not change.
  13. You seem to misunderstand my post. He was saying with some additional changes like flipping the rear and front diffs 180 degree, swapping or using some of their own Lego collection it was possible to build a crack-free one. I was saying to prove the kbalage story it does not require those mods/swaps/tweaks/changes etc. With luck and smart building experience some people managed to build it crack-free as it is seen in EB and also in FB groups. And I re-used the word story as a fun, not a token of doubt. The kbalage story sounds 2020. It is cool and smart lol. And it is a true story.
  14. Flipping gears definitely should help move the vehicle forward without cracking. However, it would be helpful if you were able to tell us what exact gears you used or replaced from your collection. And, it does not confirm the kbalage story. What he says is without having to rely on parts of your own i.e., swapping, flipping the differentials it is possible to build the chassis a crack free one which is a very rare case, doable with people who are very smart with building. As the post above says this is for sure one crazy chassis crammed with everything but in no way all these proves the set is crap or something. It is one great set that is fun to build and great to look at.
  15. Regarding that structure if u see the official video (I saw it from Brick brother's youtube channel) u can see that guy lift that car with just one hand holding just the rooftop portion. It was smooth. I will hold my judgment until Sariel/Jim/RacingBrick's videos are out (prolly on/around June 1st). But I also understand these are the same guys who proved to be correct regarding that head light instruction error. Hmm... Thanks for bringing this up again. I saw ur post in the thousands of other posts and was wondering has there been any update of it.
  16. Such a dedicated FKP builder. He later matched his finger's plaster color (which is different tho') with the model ?
  17. Have seen a video about the recent pics of the FKP 37 on YouTube. The video has brighter pics. Those who claim or are confused as to whether those "stuffs" with holes are instruction manuals or not, I can confirm you those are actually the instruction manuals, kept side by side. Initially I also thought those are just the bottom surface as we saw holes in it. That's not the case. Play it, pause on 1:04.
  18. That Jimbo dude is making it sincerely I believe
  19. Hmm. Whole seven months are left for 2020 to end. Just my wish Lego announced a surprise Technic set ?
  20. After reversing the front and rear diffs, when the vehicle moved forward the cracking transferred to when moving it backwards, right? Or, are you saying reversing the diffs completely removed the friction either moved forward or backward?
  21. Since the plastic bags are already exposed out of the box. Who knows.... might happen that too. But June 1st is not that far away
  22. You are correct. We should not announce it as the most secret Lego Technic set Yet.
  23. Just got this. It was leaked in June and officially announced in Sept 10, 2019. iirc I did not see it anywhere in the discussions for the first 4/5 months of 2019 at Eurobricks https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-technic-land-rover-defender-42110-officially-announced/
